Rare coins from way back in the day. I originally bought them from Casascius himself when they came out, and have held them since. Personally redeemed each one for BTC and BCH, some still probably have "Bitcoin Gold" on them.

Kept in plastic coin protectors since day 1, not moved much, kept in climate controlled storage. Labels still in very good shape.

These are being sold because I am cleaning out anything I'm not using much, including collectibles such as these.

Purchased November 2013 direct from Casascius - can provide copies of the order email to winners on demand.

Bidding will be separate per coin. Each coin has a lot number associated - see below

Coins are effectively identical aside from the sticker and how damaged or not it is from the redemption process. Occasional fingerprints or smudges but largely untouched.

Closeups are of representative coins of the lot, if you want a detailed picture of anything I will do my best, just send me a PM.

According to your own auction rules, some lots should have been closed already.

SNIPE: Any bid made in last 5 minutes will extend the auction for that lot 5 minutes beyond the ending time of that lot
If within those 5 extended minutes, a new bid is made, 5 minutes will be added to the auction from the time of that bid

Problem is there are too many bids, is hard to bid for 3 or 4 more slots as there is always a new message... it would not be fair to close lots when there are bids trying to be done.

It's been stated in the auction rules like that though, so we will have to deal with it like that. Can't change that rule last minute.

I totally agree. You CLEARLY stated in the rules that each lot would be closed INDIVIDUALLY after 5min of no bids on that specific lot.

Considering the complete changing of the rules after the auction close as per written rules and the resulting confusion, I would vote that the auction be cancelled and re-done tomorrow under clear rules so people can prepare.

Bids from geosgaen0 were not updated in the following lists so other people (including me) missed them and we were unable to bid... The more fair thing would be to repeat the auction with just 5 coins and do multiple different days.

I think this should be re-done. I stopped bidding waiting for clarification then the rule changed back again and I was out of time to figure out which lots were even still open at that point.

bids from geo should not be valid, he did bids, saw other users using wrong auction list and he said nothing about the mistake to take profit. Besides that the fact we had to put full list made impossible to bid for lots for more than 5 minutes.

You should really consider repeat the auction with less coins.

Forum auction actually are the best I have ever participated in. I think the format you chose was just not right for the number of coins you were selling. The LIFO system works really well for future reference. All lots extend, etc.

A happy medium to keep all happy may be this, Give one coin to all winners, but not multiples to one buyer. Reset the multiples for tomorrow.

I didnt mean to do that, and its by OP rule that everyone should take attention to bid.

At the very least Geosgaen0 won lot 1, the lists got out of sync. I should've done the auction format differently and handled it better. I'm very sorry to bidders who feel slighted, I don't blame you. Frankly I just want this done.

again consider bids from geosgaen invalid, He did bid but the next message another user put a list without his bids and the next guy used that list, so the entire bidders we missed his bids. He could have sent a message warning about the mistake, instead he reminded silent so he could take profit. This is not ethical and he should not be awarded winning auctions.

My bids should be considered valid and not out of time. I started bidding when auction was on time and I had to update the list like 13 times.... I do not understand why my bid is invalid? I was following rules of putting the full list.

Oh yes you remind when there was 10 seconds left,  you had 5 minutes to remind.... and you did NOT! See how many bids were done on these 5 minutes and you were silence.

Again, I followed the rule of putting full list, so each time I was clicking POST  I was getting a red warning saying there are new posts. Then I was copying and trying again to post my bids. I followed this rule and I was relaxed about timing because if there were new bids  means auction was still open. I spent more than 10 minutes trying to send my bids. Why my bids now are out of time? I just followed that rule... I think winners should be highest bids, no matter the time, considering forum was overload and people could not send bids like me.

If a lot ends at 12 and you add five minutes, it ends at 12:05.

I think anyone here would respect MJ's judgment as per rules as written, tho I don't think it would be fair to place that on him..

@OP, You were changing the rules mid auction, so nobody knew anymore which rules to follow, creating too much chaos and an unfair outcome for most participants.

Probably the easiest/ best/ fairest way for everyone involved is to just restart a 24h auction or so, and perhaps let mj host it, if he'd be willing to do that.
He has a lot of experience with these kinds of auctions and would definitely make it a smooth experience.

If I get the warning that there are new messages what I should do? click send my bid even I know list for other lots is not updated? By that way I would bring errors to the full auction. Instead I was responsible and I was updating the list again, I did that process almost 10 times to ensure my list contained all updated lots.

The 5 minutes limit should be refreshed for all lots each time there was a new list. If you do not do that then people can not bid properly as there is always another message from another lot and you can not send your message.

Auction should be repeated, there is no other solution.

Highest bids no matter of time should be the winners. Also Garett said during the auction that any bid in any lot would increase the time. This is best solution for users like me that we were unable to send our bids due other users spamming the forum.

Well, I agree. That's what major auction houses do as well, whenever something goes wrong in their auctions. It's the only fair way moving forward for everyone involved.
I think most serious participants in this auction would agree with this.
@OP perhaps try to reach out to Minerjones and ask if he'd be willing to redo a (shortened) auction for you?

Wow, this is crazy. I wanted to bid but glad I didn't.

Idk if users know that there is people who will host these auctions for you for a small fee. Very professionally at that. On something like this, with so many coins. It would be worth it for a seller to sub it out to a host.

The fair thing to do is to just redo the whole thing or else there will be hard feelings. I know I would be bummed out.

Nobody followed rules here.

Geo sent bids and then said nothing when next user sent  lower bids without putting his bids.

Other users updated his lot but not other lots, making next user bid wrong amount to another lot.

Other users were sending updated lists for all lots but without respecting the 5  minutes limit.


ONLY solution is repeat.

I can confirm that I also stopped bidding, and was crazily refreshing for updates to bring clarity- had bids ready to go.

OP - recommendation for next time. Every so often as we approach the end, put an updated list of lots & current top bids. This would help to prevent the situation like what happened here.  I think that’s what MJ typically does to steer the herd.

It's ridiculous to call out winners after you change rules back and forward within a few minutes of auction ending. It's very frowned upon and TOTALLY incorrect. The only correct thing to do here is to redo the auction. I genuinly feel scammed and gave a negative feedback until this issue is resolved.

For bidding we had to send full list of lots. People like me tried to bid for 4 lots, but we could not send the message as each time we had to update the list for other lots, when me and others were able to send the message, the 5 minute limit was already hit.

In other hand you had users who do not followed the rule of putting full updated this list, they were sending just the updated lot for his bid.

And then you have geo, who did bids but next user did not updated list with his bids and we all continue with the wrong list. When 5 minute limit was  hit geo claimed his bids.... very unethical . And now OP claims him as winner, when he probably is the one who less deserve.

Please minerjones contact OP and host this auction again.
