Welcome. How did you find your way here to the forum? Have you been evicted by aliens?
What do you need to know in order for us to give you a referral? Do we need to rewrite the entire forum here, or are you interested in a particular direction? Have you used the forums before so that you can say that it is difficult for you to decide on the direction?
Please be more confident and independent; there is no need to create a new topic, showing your helplessness. If you know how to read, then you will certainly find here the necessary and interesting information for you.

The forum software is old and may be different from other forums you may have been on. It gets easier as you spend more time here. You found your way here so it can’t be difficult. You will find the forum rules and other guides here;  Newbies - read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0)

Well it’s the kind of threads that’s common in this section. “Newbies” showing how “new” they are to the forum. I haven’t been here for long as you have but I’m already tired of repeat threads and patterns.

Welcome mate to Bitcoin talk. just as everyone else has spoken, there are rules and regulations you must abide to as a newbie and at such, you should take your time to study them very well to know how thing works here. There are so many way you can enjoy being a member of this forum and at that you get to know more about cryptocurrencies, join some cool contest and others. but breaking rules can tanish your image here or equally withdraw your membership.

most importanty, don't forget to ask questions whenever you come across something you don't understand we have so many experienced and knowledgeable users here that are willing to help newbies like yourself understand more about bitcoin.

Yes you can ask questions but then you can also use the search buttons at the top column of the forum, to see if these questions have already been asked and answered before.

Welcome. How did you find your way here to the forum? Have you been evicted by aliens?
There are several ways a member can wind up here, a Google search is one of them. They can also be referred here from another website without any sort of guidance.

What do you need to know in order for us to give you a referral? Do we need to rewrite the entire forum here, or are you interested in a particular direction? Have you used the forums before so that you can say that it is difficult for you to decide on the direction?
There's no need to be cheeky to a new member. It's not news that the forum can be a lot to grasp for someone who is used to modern social platforms and it's not a surprise that a new member needs guidance.
Pointing them to the forum rules and other sticky threads would do the trick, even though majority don't stick around to read them.

Please be more confident and independent; there is no need to create a new topic, showing your helplessness. If you know how to read, then you will certainly find here the necessary and interesting information for you.
A confused newbie should always open a thread to ask for help, that's the objective of a discussion forum.

Welcome Aforhok,
99% of new members don't read the threads that have bee suggested to you, let's hope you're among the 1%.

Welcome mate. The first thing you have to do is to check what you're up to and how you landed the forum. The forum was built for everyone who's into Bitcoin and as well as other cryptocurrencies. You don't have to make it difficult for yourself if you can make yourself round about it. Just hover on different boards and read each description they've got for your interest upon looking for those topics that you're captivated with. So that you are aware of what type of board you're in, I am sure that there's even at least one of them that will catch your attention and why you've decided to register because there's something interesting that you wanna ask and want to learn so enjoy on board.

really good advice, I'd like to add some additional advice. First, joining a forum does not guarantee that you will get what you want right away. Many newbies mistakenly believe that joining a forum and being promoted to a higher rank is very simple, which is why the majority of newbies complain about their lack of merit or inability to rank up. Similar to the forum, you must gain more knowledge about bitcoin because, from what I can see, many forum members do so in order to do so.
However, if you come to the forum as a newbie thinking that you want to become wealthy or have money, you are mistaken. Although many forum members have money, you still need to study more to become successful. If you pay attention to many forum members who are higher than you, I'm sure you won't regret being here.

First of all, welcome to bitcointalk.

What I noticed though is that almost immediately after you created this account you came here asking how this forum works. While there is nothing wrong about asking anything, I would suggest you to give it some more time and explore forum by yourself and do it at your pwn pace  because newbies often feel like they have to know everything and now which I don't think is a good thing to do as it may feel overwhelming.

Like we all know learning is a continuous process so I am not surprised OP asking questions here as this is the only means through which one can learn new things when one ask questions.
It is true that in every platform and even organizations, there are rules and guidelines governing them. Possibly policies that keeps them going. This is also applicable here and I believe from the posts and links provided in the previous post's but other members, OP can be able to navigate through the platform.

OP should not this; that every thread or board has its own guidelines pinned at  the top of the thread so it would be in your own best interest to make sure you read them so as to get aquatinted with the boards very well.
Do well to always attach your refference if you copied any post from anywhere so as to avoid being banned for plagiarism. For instance if you copy from the internet, you can paste the link from the source after you have made your write up.
Lastly, as a newbie here, you must have come across so acronyms which you might be familiar with and those you have no idea about. Below you can read further to learn more of it;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5455635.msg62370045#msg62370045

I think all these put together would be of help to you in acquiring more knowledge about the platform and other activities going on here.
Once again welcome onboard.

Welcome to the forum mate,

Well I can see some members have already given great tips to start up your stay here in the community and if you want to grow and also improve your skills in bitcoin technology and the forum here you probably best follow those instruction and guidelines given to you.

I also want to add up an important advice for you as a newbie although I don't how you got to find out about the forum but if you stumbled upon here by yourself it will be a little bit confusing seeing everything so broad and wide so I would advice for you to patiently take your time to surf through the forum and do more reading before ever engaging in any discussion before its better to equipt and learn first before suggesting anything because you can't actually offer what you don't know and this will help you a lot to reduce supposed spam that most newbie here do.

What exactly you are looking for on the forum on which you need guidance? You just see different threads which can help you like the pinned one's on each section as they are helpful for newbies so just check them out once. The more you spend time here the more knowledge you will gain as you have registered yesterday only so give it a time and if have any doubts then ask for it.

But other advice is not to create a thread for each thing you want to know because there are already many such threads to help you out so just search for them in this manner :

Code:
 How to rank up bitcointalk
Merit and requirements bitcointalk
Posting techniques bitcointalk

LOL, OP, yeah, I think you need to reply to the comments you get because this one seems interesting. I think almost every day, new users register on the forum; they all come here with different intentions, either for business (to offer or receive service) or others. but if you also state your direction, it will make members give the right reference. Although you have gotten enough helpful links from the first reply, do well to read and learn. You can always ask questions in the forum on threads or start a new topic, but before you do so, always make sure you search effectively (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276341.0) to see if the topic you want to create has not yet been created.

Hello and welcome to the forums. Simply obey the forum rules and regulations to prevent being punished in the forum, and don't submit needless posts here.

And always ask questions if you don't understand something; there are many individuals here who can help you. After that, you can participate in discussions and provide answers to inquiries or illuminate the community about anything that will be useful to them. You've now begun contributing to the forum.

Yes, your advise is ideal for someone who is just getting started in the crypto world. We welcome to newbies on this forum who really want to learn and earn something else. There is no matter what you choose or how much you invest in if you have a sound understanding of crypto trading. However, if you have money and want to invest in trading, you need first learn and gain experience before making a decision. Because you cannot evaluate the behavior of the crypto market or generate money from it unless you have a thorough understanding of fundamental and technical analysis, risk assessment, and so on. So, do your research thoroughly and start with low-value tokens rather than high-value tokens. Furthermore, you must remember the loss first.

There was when I was praising older users in this forum for always accommodating newbies, despite the kind of repetitive topics that are being created in the forum. Being a legendary member means that they have seen countless number of this type of posts and they should also be able to decipher between a genuine newbie and pretending one.

However, as I am getting old in the forum, I have realised that this type of posts are very much part of this community and no one can do without it in as much as newcomers are still entering the forum. Then, some of the accounts are not genuine newcomers, but in some ways they pretend to be new in order to get assistance from the community.

Welcome buddy...
Apparently, this is a community filled with different tribal, religional and ethical beliefs - but the fact is, no one brings that into any system of operation...Secondly, we've got a concrete rule that says ; There's no room for plagiarism... Avoid whatever has to do with that. Thirdly, you don't have to be someone else; just be yourself and that's fine by everyone else. Make your personal research both in the forum and outside... Try as much as possible to teach others any new developmental ideas that you acquire in the process and, Trust me, that's how merit comes in troops..
Welcome onboard!!

Obviously my friend, very Obviously amd for what is worth, it is something that can't be taken away from the forum eventually. Given by the influx of new users on the forum, there would be always those who would like to have it easy as they should on there newbie days to just go straight to the point on enquiries as, not all would be good enough in using the search icon. It might seem simple but, the idea go use it in getting the answers they need or even identifying it easily when presented to them isn't something you just come to know. It takes a while and these users needs to get there go going.

Still, users will always express there options as a deterrent to those that would know buy just see it for means to spam the forum. So, its cool.

Bitcoin Talk is a forum where all cryptocurrency-related discussions occur. As a newbie, your main concern when joining the forum should be to do your best to learn as much as you can about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, how they work, and other essential information. This is because some newbies have found the forum to be very challenging because they came here with the idea that they were only there to make money, which makes it difficult for them to learn anything.

To read the forum rules and guidelines, which will help you operate in the forum and ensure that you do not make any mistakes, go to that page first before exploring other areas of the topic. To do this, click read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0)

Trading forums are crucial for learning, accessing information, and networking. Challenges include scammers, information overload, and time management. For successful participation in trading, must join  the right forum, continuously learn and read the  rules of experts. To discusses trading, must know about its basics, terminologies, types, market role. Successful trading involves understanding market trends, analyzing indicators, researching the market, developing trading strategies, analyzing technical indicators, and staying up-to-date on industry news. Bitcoin forum is very helpful for discussion point of view and to enhance the knowledge for beginners about cryptocurrencies.

Just as you have noted them, there is also local board where you could familiarize yourself with people from your region or country. This helps newbies alot because there they could interact with people from their locality, ask questions so they could be guided all through their stay onboard this platform.  It did help me alot at some point in my early days here because asking questions was something one could do freely on local board so you could be guided by members who are ahead of you on the platform.
Soni would advise you to follow same measures in identifying with your local board and getting familiarized with their activities so you too can scale through with assistance from your local board.

There's nothing particular or complex about the forum and it's way around, all you need to know beforehand is in the rules and regulations section, if you can get familiarized with that, you're good to go.
Secondly, in what ever form you got to learn about the forum, I believe you found a reason before you made up your mind to join, develop your self such that you're open to learn, unlearn and relearn because, this is an open space and trust me to get many facts from different opinions.
Also try to give out only informative and educative informations, avoid informations that pose to be misleading.

Hi everyone, please can someone put me through on how the forum works, because I can't find my way around it please. Thanks.
The rightful person to do that is the person that introduced you to it, because they supposed to have hinted you about the forum already before bringing you into it, for you to already know how to create a post on threads, shows you have an idea but still having some challenges, well learning from other members is not a bad idea as well, my opinion is that you should first know the rules and regulations of the forum and abide to them so as not to make mistakes that would get you reported or banned, then as a newbie you should focus on easier topics that you would be comfortable to reply on, therefore giving reasonable and quality ideas.
You're welcome to the forum, goodluck exploring and creating good topics that would fetch you Merits.

I think you were too hasty, judging from when you got registered and when you asked the question in the OP. Your time of registration was June 07, 2023, 02:15:39 PM and the OP was created barely 15 minutes after that. A little patience and perusal would've opened up to you the answer you seek. In all honesty, I think this forum is user friendly and easy to navigate compared to most crypto fora. You just need to read sticked or pinned posts of sections you open to know most of the rules and regulations here do as to steer off trouble.

In another light, I'm a bit curious how you were able to manoeuver through the process of registration and had access to post in less than 15 minutes after creating this account. I need somebody to explain this to me. Is it that the evil IP fee as penance isn't placed on all newly registered accounts? I know it took my mentee more than 24hrs to gain posting access even after paying that fee. So, how come OP was able to get registered and commence posting in less than 15 minutes.
