Title: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding.
Post by: Bd officer on June 13, 2023, 01:54:02 PM
Although I still studied, I invested a small amount in Bitcoin. I will get married if I get a good job. Many people give many things to their wives as wedding gifts, I have a different plan. I am planning to gift bitcoin to my wife on her wedding day. Bitcoin is still illegal in my country so I invested with caution. On my wedding day I want to gift half of my investment to my wife.
Should I gift bitcoin to my wife? I want your advice

Sincerely if you ask me, there are many thing to give ones spouse on a very special day like a wedding day but bitcoin is certainly the least of them. If I may ask does your wife know about Bitcoin? Does she know to trade or store Bitcoin? What does she know about the safest bitcoin wallet? Women treasures physical gifts a lot and there's no better time to wow her than your wedding day or night. My advice for you is to look for something lovely and tangible and present to your wife based on your financial strength and the bitcoin gift can come later.

Why you need to give it? and why it must be Bitcoin? if you're just want to teach Bitcoin to your wife in order to make she know how to access your Bitcoin when something bad happen, you don't need to give your coins to her! Even worst, Bitcoin is illegal in your country, your wife might tell to her friend or her family and force you to stop invest in Bitcoin, what do you think?

I don't want to rain your parade, OP but considering that you mentioned that Bitcoin is illegal in your country, you're just asking for a knock on the door from legal authorities. I assume you're from Bangladesh based on your post history?

You could either just do it privately  or don't do it at all.  I understand that you want to give your wife the best present as much as possible, but there's plenty of ways to do it sweetly and nicely. You never want to ruin your honeymoon or at least be paranoid about it.

It will be a very appreciative gift if your wife knows the value of Bitcoin and how it works.

But how will the gift look since Bitcoin is not something physical that any other person will see? Will it look fancy or appreciative? because we know that women like something everyone will see and admire so that they will be happy, but nevertheless, if you can guide her through the Bitcoin process and tell her some good news about Bitcoin and its value, I am sure she will appreciate your gift.

It depends on your choice but there's nothing bad in giving her bitcoin as present, so it's something you both can agree on that after your wedding to choose bitcoin as your first investment asset, who knows maybe before your wedding day your country would have adopted bitcoin as a legal tender or make the use of bitcoin a legal means of making payments, all that you should know for now is that there's great advantage in using bitcoin than any other asset of investment because of it future advantage for making profits after holding.

Should I gift bitcoin to my wife?
If I am not wrong, in most countries, by laws, all assets two couples have during their marriage period are considered as co-owned by wife and husband.

I know that you want to make your wife happy but is it necessary that bitcoin you have will be considered as co-owned by your wife if you buy it after your wedding, with a valid marriage certificate.

In addition, it is risky if your wife does not know about Bitcoin, steps to keep it safe. You can teach your wife but probably she will have less experience than you and worse practice than you.

Lastly, it is not her key, not her bitcoin. You create that wallet, give it as a gift to your wife but you know the wallet private key and you can get it back anytime.

That is a choice only you can make. A relationship between wife and husband is something very intimate which isn't from the business of other people. To give a Bitcoin gift to your wife might have a personal important meaning for you and to receive that gift might have an important meaning for your wife as well that most of us who are outside couldn't understand exactly.

That is a matter of feeling. If you feel like you should gift her, do this. Just have self-confidence to make your choice based on what you think you should do and not on what other people think. After all, a marriage gets annoying and messy when the couple can't decide things by themselves and start taking the advices of others in consideration frequently.

Look at it this way, if you want to involve your wife in something that is illegal in your country, that’s not a good move. You might make it worse and depends on how your wife sees it as an investment or an asset. You didn’t mention any views of your wife Edith, so it might not be as well coming as what we might expect.

Maybe invest your money from your bitcoin to something that is memorable to you and your wife. That would be a better wedding gift than bitcoin itself.

I don’t know why this kind of topic keep popping. There’s a lot of thread that same like this about buying Bitcoin or etc. while Bitcoin is illegal to your country.

Seriously, you are giving your wife a gift that is illegal? You are putting her life at especially if she doesn’t know that she is committing a crime by accepting your gift. Just gave her a good life and that will make here happy for the rest of your life. Don’t make her life complicated and don’t involve her on your sneaky investment. I will support you on gifting Bitcoin if it’s legal. Think logically.

No, I don't think you should give your future wife bitcoins on your wedding day. You have said that bitcoin is not an illegal asset in your country, so you will definitely be in trouble if you force yourself to give bitcoin for him openly. You have to take a different approach, of course you can give your wife bitcoins privately without being known by many people.

But to be honest, I don't know what's your point in giving him bitcoin?

You may want to impress your wife but if she doesn't know how to trade BTC to fiat, she may not appreciate the gift. Unless you already have taught her about it so yep she will like it.

In my experience, girls prefer the effort even if it's a small thing so know what they like. My best advice, buy something that will make her look good, something shiny like earrings and a necklace.  It's what they talk about when they gather with their friends and not BTC.

I mean you getting married and all of your investment will be one with the investments of your wife so I guess no need to give it to him since she owns it as well already or maybe you could just teach him about Bitcoin so that he has the idea that you already own Bitcoin and it's her Bitcoin as well.

It was a great wedding gift I think you could send your Bitcoin to your friends or family wedding I think, or just get them a whole wallet since most of them probably doesnt know Bitcoin or doesnt have a Bitcoin wallet. You could give them the whole wallet and with that, they might get interested in Bitcoin and probably become an investor in the future because of your gift also it would help them have a good mindset on investment and saving.

Also, you might get in trouble since you mention Bitcoin is not legal in your country, in my opinion, you shouldn't teach someone to invest in Bitcoin or buy Bitcoin if it wasn't in first play legal your just putting them in trouble in the long run.

I don't know if I were your wife it'll be like just random to give your wife on your special day something they don't understand if she doesn't have idea to Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin is actually a good move, but just think something as a gift where your wife will have a memorable day by just receiving it. Because for sure you'll still have to educate her about Bitcoin once you gifted her if she doesn't have the knowledge. It doesn't need to be material thing maybe things that are useful for her to use. There's always a right time to open the bitcoin in other special days.

Why would you gift your beloved a article that is illegal in your country? Maybe in the future married life you can teach her about it, but why at the start?

Consider she is not interested in bitcoin, but gold, what will you do then? Leave your wife or bitcoin? Tough question to answer if you ask me. ::)

While there are wives who are supportive of their husband's investments, you might want to consider their stance before tying the knot.

My honest advice is to keep collecting bitcoin like the rest of your country members are doing discreetly and wait for the country's stance to change. Only then there is a chance that your upcoming spouse might be willing to accept it.

Can. Just give it to her because Bitcoin is your gift to your wife in my neighborhood tradition that the gift can also be yours as the head of the household.

My question is whether the gift is for showing off or only you and your wife know.
If you want it to be known by people that your gift is different from other people, then it can lead to negative considering that Bitcoin in your country is still illegal. I mean, don't let your good intentions turn into problems for you down the road.

I understand many have said many ways. If I give my wife some idea about Bitcoin history first. I will warn about it as it is illegal in our country. I will explain him well. I will make a deal with my wife, when I sell bitcoins, I will give half to my wife.

Well, you giving your wife something illegal is like putting your wife at risk of the law. I don't doubt how much you love your partner, but after all you're new to her family you have yet to explore how they'll react to this plan including knowing that you're a bitcoin fan.
I wouldn't rush it if I were you, I think there's a better time for this plan.

Does your prospective partner understand bitcoin so that when you give it on the wedding day he will understand the value of the bitcoin that is given? If you still don't understand, then this will be very difficult for your wife, especially in your country where it is illegal, of course your wife is too public with bitcoin investments, so this will be a new problem, as much as possible, you and your wife must be as private as possible for this if you want to do it.

I read an article about this and it exists but bitcoin is legal there so it won't be a problem while the wife who was given bitcoin already knows and understands how to properly store these assets.
Maybe you can reconsider with other assets. I'm sure your future wife will be happy with any gift from you.

You must consider your spouse's taste and preferences when choosing a gift. If your wife is unfamiliar with Bitcoin or has no interest in crypto, it may not be the most suitable gift for her on your wedding day. Tangible and thoughtful gifts that match your wife's taste and show your love and commitment can mean more on such a special occasion. It could be a piece of jewelry, a handwritten letter, a personalized item, or an experience you both can enjoy together. Remember, it's important to understand your partner's wishes and choose a gift that aligns with their preferences and values. If you still want to introduce your wife to Bitcoin later on, you can do so after the wedding and take the time to educate her about it, making sure she's comfortable and enjoys exploring the world. electronic money.

No need to think about or plan to gift bitcoins to your wife at your wedding, think about the cost of your wedding from now on by investing in bitcoin which I think is much better. And do it after you get a job and use a small part of your salary to buy bitcoins, or you can do DCA until you find your soul mate and plan to get married.
to be honest, my wedding expenses used the profits from bitcoin, and at that time I had the goal of collecting bitcoins from a small portion of my salary to buy bitcoins and for wedding expenses, and what you should know is that the capital to celebrate a wedding is not a small thing, so you have to think about it, don't think about or plan bitcoin gifts for your wife at the wedding.
and after I use bitcoin to get married, I have to keep investing and keep going because after marriage there will be a lot of costs that must be incurred, needs, household equipment, pregnancy and also giving birth. So, think about all this carefully and keep investing in bitcoins as it can also be used as a reserve fund when you really need it.
so in my opinion, don't think too much about what you are going to plan, because your wife will still enjoy the benefits of bitcoin for the long term, so you use or invest bitcoin for the long term. Many nice gifts for your wife and you can buy them from bitcoin profit. And make bitcoin for your life journey and for your family's future.

I never knew you have to give a gift to your wife during or after the wedding. I wish I knew before now, I would have given my wife something good. But the best kind of gifts to give to anyone is the things they need or cherish so much. If your wife is knowledgeable about bitcoin and has been aspiring to have it, a Bitcoin will gift will be okay. But if she does not know about bitcoin, she might not cherish the gift. If you have decided to give her bitcoin maybe to assist her in investing in the sector, you need to introduce her to the coin and make her understand the worth and prospect of owning bitcoin.

You also said that bitcoin is illegal in your country which means you want to give your wife an illegal gift. I suggest you give your wife another gift that you feel she will cherish. We should obey the laws of our land so if the law says owning bitcoin is illegal, ensure you encourage your family member to abide by the law. Happy marriage life in advance.

If Bitcoin is illegal in your country, it may not be wise to openly give it to your wife or involve her in your Bitcoin holdings. Sharing this information with others, including family and friends, could potentially lead to legal trouble or unwanted scrutiny. Instead, if your intention is to make sure your wife has access to your bitcoins in the event of any unfortunate events, you can explore other ways to secure and transmit them. reach this information without explicitly donating bitcoins. This may involve sharing instructions on how to access and manage Bitcoin, such as providing the required password, recovery root phrase, or other authentication methods. However, you should still exercise caution and ensure that your actions comply with the laws and regulations of your country.

You want to give Bitcoin as gift that must be a special gift for your spouse. But do you know if your wife has any idea about Bitcoin or not? If yes then of course you can gift her bitcoins. And if not, she might react negatively to your gift. If your wife has any experience using bitcoins she may be most happy. I have never heard such type of gift in the wedding. But I would be interested to know how she reacts after your gift.

If she understands Bitcoin as a woman, why not? However, be careful not to give her a gift that she doesn't know the purpose of. Instead of making her happy with your sacrifices thus far, she might end up feeling confused about how to use what you've given.

If Bitcoin truly holds value for you, you can give it to her with the hope that your partner will be intrigued by one of the most precious items you possess. That might explain how Bitcoin works on its own merits, fueled by curiosity. That's a good thing.

Hey mate it is very romantic to do so. I think she would like it if you do so but you said in your country bitcoin is illegal would it not be ok you do it in a secret with your wife so that people would not know or possibly you opt for another preferable gift for her as not to make the mistake of it being  publicly known.

Nevertheless, it is a good gift but I would advise you teach her more about it if she has no clues on how bitcoin works so she does not make the mistake of losing it to scammers or hackers.

Bitcoin is probably one of the top prominent project in the crypto space. Gifting your wife bitcoin on wedding day is one of the amazing gift but there are countless questions surrounding the idea.
Does your wife know about cryptocurrency?
Does she have an idea about bitcoin?
Does she know how to trade and store cryptos?
Does she has a wallet?
These are the basic questions that needs to be set in place before you triggered such a decision.

Funny how you said her wedding on your wedding. Looks like someone is not happy with her.  :D
Lolz.. And that's the very statement that captured my eye too, because since O.P intends to marry her, it's supposed to be "on our wedding day" and not "on her wedding day", which I thought you will correct O.P but you didn't.

However, giving Bitcoin as a gift to your wife on your wedding day is not a bad thing, but don't be surprised if on that day she seems not to appreciate your gift due to the fact that she has no knowledge what it's Bitcoin all about, because on a special day such as "wedding day or Birthday", it's always wise to buy a gift that had been confirmed that the next person loves the most, which may differs from one individual to the other. Moreover, i'm not here to discourage you, but will love to see you come back here to tell us in few months time from now how your wedding gift went about. So wishing you good luck.

There are some considerations you should make before giving your wife Bitcoin as a wedding present. First, will your wife accept it totally and be able to hold onto it for a long time without selling it at a loss price? Second, will she tell her friends that her husband gave her bitcoin as a wedding gift even when he knows that it is illegal in the country? Third, will she store and keep it safe? Fourth, won't she publicize the story to everyone that cares to know?

I think you'll know the best response to my questions after which you may decide whether to move forward with your intention of giving your wife bitcoin on your wedding day or not. The decision and actions are yours to make.

Of course you have every right to give your wife whatever gift you have in mind but as for Bitcoin it is something your wife needs needs to have a better understanding first before you think of giving her Bitcoin as a gift, discuss vehicle is very volatile and if your wife does not have a better understanding about it it can be nothing to her. The only way you can make this better for her is maybe to make the Investment yourself for her and also put her through to get a better knowledge concerning bitcoin investment and how to secure bitcoin very well.

Gift as Bitcoin is always good for people who have a great interest for Bitcoin because it won't make any sense to give someone bitcoin as gift when they have no interest and better understanding for Bitcoin, at least make her to understand bitcoin and when you get to see the interest  she have for Bitcoin then you can go ahead to give her any amount of Bitcoin you wish to give.

Bitcoin is money that anybody can spend it the way they like but it is very disappointing when Bitcoin is being managed not in the right way , that is why it is better to give bitcoin as gift to people who really understand it better.

I smile! Does your wife know what is bitcoin? Even though you don't give her bitcoin as a gift, you can still buy something valuable to her. Even though you are the one keeping the bitcoin in your wallet, she still the one has them. That is why what belong to you also belong to her as well. All these stories are unrealized ones. They are just for other things.

Op when are you getting married? Why did you tell us the day you are getting but only telling us the gift to your unforeseen wife. That means anytime whenever you want to give something to anyone, you will come here and seek for advise because forum now is a family counseling platform.

Giving a valuable gift to someone who will not see the value in it or cannot recognise the value yet, is a waste of gift. Unless your wife knows about bitcoins, it is a terrible idea to gift bitcoins to your wife, simply because you think it will be a great gift. Bitcoin can be a good gift, but not to every individual. Your wife may be interested in receiving gifts like jewelry, bags, a car, a house, or even a land, which are things she can see. If you gift your wife something she has no knowledge of, it will be less appreciated by her even when it is good and you may feel bad.

In my poin of view, Giving your future wife half of your bitcoin as wedding gift is not a problem but you have to see how is her character because some women is more interested with jewelry rather, except if your future wife is also bitcoin users who is already exited with bitcoin then you decision to gift her bitcoin is good choice to do.

You can gift bitcoin to anyone, if you have enough bitcoin to share with your wife you are welcome to gift those coins to her. But why giving her bitcoin on her wedding day, it would make her day complicated not everyone knows about bitcoin so this is not an ideal gift for wedding day, you can give her a share of your bitcoin later.

Well, if you're married both of you will have a conjugal obligation so that's normal that what's yours will be hers and what's hers will be yours unless both of you have an agreement. I think before you get married, you might be as well stable first and don't decide too quickly unless the type of living where you are is easy going and not stressful. Because based on the world economy, many are struggling on how's the increase of goods in different country so. There's nothing wrong giving her a bitcoin as a gift and if that's your decision, I am sure that no matter what you give to her will be taken and handled with care.

Give 50%? Consider it to be 100% because you and your wife does have that conjugal agreement on which on the things you do own even before you marriage which she owns it now.  :D

In speaking about the decision about making it as a gift then of course everything would really be depending on you.Just be sure that your wife is really that aware about Bitcoin or even with the basics
of crypto so that she would really be appreciating on what you would really be giving into her compared into those who do have zero knowledge then appreciation of such gift couldn't really be seen.
You would really be considering on saving up your own coins on which you do possess its keys when it comes to own personal wallets on the time that she would know your stash. hehe

When you say Bitcoin is illegal in your country, then that's when you won't get the trust for the investment you made that you gave to your wife.

It's really important to get more education on how Bitcoin will work in countries that ban Bitcoin.
But it's still unclear whether it's completely banned or just banned as a means of payment like in my country.

Giving Bitcoin as a wedding gift is the main context would certainly be a fairly unique and memorable gift, but if it is illegal of course it will be unlawful and will bring your wife into quite serious trouble if it is really banned.

Is your wife familiar with Bitcoin or does she not understand at all?
You have to adjust that and if this is the first time then educate her first.

I said to myself, eh, why not?  If I were in her place, I'm pretty sure I'll like your gift because I know what Bitcoin is or how valuable it is.
However, there are too many factors to consider if you want to gift your wife a Bitcoin.
  • Is she aware of Bitcoin?
  • Is she knowledgeable about it?
  • It is valuable, Do you think she likes it more than cash?

But as you've said it's illegal in your country, I think you can't give it to her publicly during the wedding.
Think about it.

You can do it, but is it a meaningful gift on your biggest day? I don't find it too necessary. One more thing, does she know about bitcoin? If she's not a bitcoin investor or a bitcoin enthusiast, you won't be able to surprise or delight your wife on her wedding day with that gift. Bitcoin is not legal in your country, giving away bitcoins publicly on your wedding day could also get you in trouble. I think you should get rid of that unnecessary thought.

Hey OP, Usually wives prefer gold jewelery more than anything else so you should change your opinion and give gold jewelery as a gift item instead of bitcoins. But if you want to do something exceptional then this idea is fine for you.

Not a bad choice, but it doesn't bring the day's excitement. If your wife hadn't known about bitcoin, then it is just a gift. The day is more special, gift on the day shouldn't be forgotten. Even a kiss will be remembered forever, so plan wise and make it a special day for her. Having bitcoin gifted and the same under your control doesn't make any difference.

I understand many have said many ways. If I give my wife some idea about Bitcoin history first. I will warn about it as it is illegal in our country. I will explain him well. I will make a deal with my wife, when I sell bitcoins, I will give half to my wife.

While it is an unconventional idea, gifting Bitcoin to your wife could certainly be an interesting and unique gesture. Where I come from, it is a tradition for lovebirds to merge their financial feathers and nest together. So, if you follow this tradition, gifting Bitcoin to your soon-to-be spouse on your wedding day could be a trendy twist on the old customs. But, it is important to consider the practicality of such a gift, especially if Bitcoin is still illegal in your country.

If you asked us for sure, we would say yes, but the problem is that your wife liked it. Because there are instances where you liked it but your wife wants another gift, and mostly they want a material one. If you can really explain to her what that is and that is your investment, then there is a possibility that she will accept it, but for me, I will not gift my wife a bitcoin. Instead, I will just tell her about the investment that I've made and gift her things that she wants.

If I were you, I would think of other things as wedding gifts and I don't think giving Bitcoin to my wife for the time being is a good idea. Moreover, Bitcoin is still illegal in your country so you should consider other gifts.

Maybe you can give a necklace or something that will be a memory for both of you. But you can give Bitcoin after your wedding is over so no one knows that you have Bitcoin. That's so no one is curious about you if you have Bitcoin.

But after you give Bitcoin to your wife, you should explain in detail what Bitcoin is for your family. And don't forget to save your Bitcoin carefully and don't talk easily about Bitcoin in front of many people because Bitcoin is still illegal in your country.

You're the one who can answer these questions and if the answer is yes then I think she will be happy.

But as a woman, usually we prefer a girly gifts (as others mentioned already). If I were to choose I'd like a set of jewelries however since i'm also a bitcoiner and knows its value, of course I would be happy to receive Bitcoin. Anyway as her fiance, you know her personality better than anyone else and that can give you an idea on what might she prefer to receive.

Definitely a unique gift for a wife to receive it and it must be considered that also your future wife knows about bitcoin first so that she will not be ignorant about it or you can teach and give her knowledge about crypto currency. Kidding a side, it's a perfect gift for a new weds and it's a good investments in the first place that can surpass gold in the future as well.

I am also married with the money I earn through cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin, but I never gave Bitcoin to my wife during the wedding ceremony. Because besides that Bitcoin is still not fully legal in my country, I personally also don't want to spit on many people that I am a cryptocurrency and Bitcoin activist. But if you ask a lot of people here for advice, it's not a problem if you want to do that as long as your wife already knows Bitcoin and already knows that you as her husband-to-be are also Bitcoin activists.

But the question here is what are you doing that for? Is it so that you seem great in the eyes of many people or is the goal to introduce Bitcoin to many people by giving it to your wife at the event. Because in my opinion it would be a little awkward to do at an official event like a wedding which usually follows local customs and state rules that apply to weddings in general.

HELL NO.

Excluding the legalities of Bitcoin in your country, gifting Bitcoin is a dumb idea.

Managing Bitcoin is a job. It takes time, energy, and work to understand.
That's not a gift, it's a responsibility.

Instead, manage your Bitcoin responsibly, and use it to benefit the wellbeing of your wife and family appropriately.
That's a real gift.

If it's banned in your country then you should avoid taking such risks because government can trace you down and that gift can land your wife in trouble. But if it's not legal tender but you can trade in it then not a problem. As said above if you think this gift will be suitable to your wife then go ahead but don't keep it on exchange but a wedding gift should be some physical one which will have more impact although you could invest in btc for your future.

When you get married, half of your possessions and your wealth will belong to your wife(according to the law in my country).
If you get divorced, she can take half of everything you have. So giving her 50% of your Bitcoin holdings seems kinda pointless to me. ;D
A wedding gift should be something romantic. Bitcoin is many things, but it definitely isn't romantic. ;D
You can do whatever you want, but I doubt that she will be happy with such gift.
By the way, are you really sure that you will get married after you get a good job? I think that unemployed people could also get a wife. ;D

If she doesn't know anything about Bitcoin it's better to surprise her after or when you leave the wedding ceremony, I have my reason for saying this, her expected reaction might not be what you hoped for and it won't be her fault because she knows too less.

Only gift someone bitcoin if the person understands its value, because otherwise it would be considered as a bad gift and it's value won't be appreciated.

But if your wife is into bitcoin, I still woldn't recommend doing it. It's like gifting someone money, doesn't looks really thoughtful.

if you love and fully trust your wife, you can give half of your investment to her. but if it were me personally, I wouldn't do that, even to my own wife. i would rather give her cash than give her half of my investment in bitcoin.

not because I'm stingy or anything, but she lacks knowledge about bitcoin and at any time she could be careless by giving the private key to someone else or she could just sell the bitcoin when the price fell and use the money to buy bags or things other. so if it was me i would not give my wife bitcoins.

Does your future wife know about bitcoin and how to operate and how Bitcoin works, or does she only know the name Bitcoin in a transparent form, in the sense that she only hears Bitcoin. if you want to teach Bitcoin to your future wife there is really no need to use this method we think, and especially if your wife doesn't know about the bitcoin system maybe she can't even access it.

Everyone wants the pleasures of a wife, and perhaps the means they use by giving precious gifts. And it's true that bitcoin is one of the most valuable digital money assets, but we think the consequences are different in this case. considering where you are Bitcoin is still illegal we are not sure if you give it to a future wife, this could be a bad problem for you. and you should still hold Bitcoin and continue to be consistent in investing in it.

What is the basis of giving bitcoins to wife on your wedding day, giving and teaching are two different things, not all women are interested in bitcoins and instead you are much more aware of what gift she wants. Is bitcoin illegal in your country as a commodity asset and if it is true then you have got your wife in trouble by giving her bitcoins. If by nature you want to pass on your bitcoin knowledge to wife to invest then anonymously is much safer and no one needs to know about the decisions you make.

If in your country bitcoin is illegal and completely prohibited by the government then investment can only be made secretly and when the government finds out then the consequences will be fatal for you. This is the kind of question that doesn't need an answer and I don't want to discourage your goodwill towards your wife for trying to consider what other gifts she would like much better much better.

My advice is to not give her Bitcoin as a wedding gift because if she doesn't posses enough knowledge about Bitcoin then she won't be able to value the gift. You have said that Bitcoin is still illegal in your country, and when you tell her about it then things can go wrong  if she discloses about it with her friends and family. It's always better to give someone a gift that the person finds amusing, but in this case the gift won't be amusing to her if she has no previous knowledge about Bitcoin and crypto-currencies in general. Instead of Bitcoin, you should give her a gift that might excite her not something she doesn't have proper knowledge about.

I recommend you to teach her about Bitcoin after the wedding and when she learns enough about Bitcoin then you should surprise her with the gift of Bitcoin. I'm sure at that moment she will find that her life partner is a very honest and caring person and he even shared his assets with her. That thing will have very positive impact on your relationship status and you both could decide on your finances after that.

Is Bitcoin for marriage dowry or only a gift?
If Bitcoin is a marriage dowry, it is usually about dowry to be announced when the marriage contract, and everyone knows that you use Bitcoin, in your country that is prohibited about bitcoin there will definitely be people who report it because of illegal, of course it is not a good thing For you and your bitcoin sir, I think you don't do that.
But if Bitcoin is only a regular prize status, then I think you can do it secretly giving it to your wife without anyone knowing, that's a wiser step if you want to give a Bitcoin gift to your wife.

And yes, it is a good decision also if you look at Bitcoin that is still considered illegal, it's better not to give it at the time of marriage, or make decision who scars losses to yourself.

Give a gift that is very meaningful and valuable for him, he will definitely be happy and appreciate it. If you give bitcoin to your wife, and in your country bitcoin is still illegal, then does your wife also understand about bitcoin? I think you better give your wife another gift.

You should buy her something more special than bitcoin,I mean something physical that she will get moved emotionally. Bitcoin is a digital currency and when you have wedded, you assets belongs to her. Giving her bitcoin when you already have the bitcoin in your custody is no difference because the bitcoin still belongs to both of you. What if she doesn't care about bitcoin and needed something that she believes is more enticing to her. Teach her about bitcoin and if she shows interest in it and loves it,you can create a wallets for her and transfer some fractions from yours to her wallet after the wedding, but don't use it as a gift because she might not know the value of it yet.

I have always believed that two spouses should have joint property after marriage. But the OP has already divided part of his property, giving half to his future wife. It's a bit wild for me. Are you going to share absolutely everything with your future family?
If I were the bride, I would certainly be delighted and set conditions, since the groom gave me half, and then in the future let him forget about them, knowing how wasteful men are and how quickly he can sell his bitcoin. ;D
As far as bitcoin knowledge goes, you OP as a groom will be honest if you first teach your girlfriend how to handle a wallet and everything so that your gift does not look like fiction, since the bride’s seed phrase should be separate and you don’t need to know her seed phrase.

Gifting the wife with Bitcoin might be a good idea until she figures she either doesn't know how to manage it or use it.
Unless she knows much about Bitcoin and can understand how to withdraw, save and trade, it would be quite an unnecessary gift.

Will you be the one to compensate for the defiency of her Bitcoin knowledge by teaching her or HODLing the coins for her?

Something more physical which she could remember you with would have been more recommended even if you did gift her the Bitcoin too.

Finish your studies first, get a good job, and find a good and understanding wife before making plans of bitcoin gift to your wife on the wedding day. Only Bitcoin?  Why not give your all on your wedding day, besides you are going to get married and it is believed that when two people undergo the sanctity of marriage will be considered as one.  You promised each other to share all things.  So it is obvious that you should give or share your BTC holdings to your wife once you got married.

First, are you already planning to get married? If not, it will probably take some time before you can get there and there might be changes on your plan in the future. But talking about the wedding gift, of course anything valuable will be very useful to your wife especially in your marriage life. However, before deciding whether to give your wife Bitcoin as a gift, make sure that she knows what is Bitcoin and how it works. Also, it will depends if you think that she will be happy receiving Bitcoin as a gift. As long as you think that it will make her happy receiving that gift, then it's great.

Bitcoin is illegal in your country. You want to gift it to your wife.
How much does she know about bitcoin?
After you have gifted it to her, what's next? Would you advice her to hold for long term, to trade it, or to keep accumulating it?
If you think she doesn't know so much yet about bitcoin, would you gift her another item, a stock, a precious metal, a real-estate property which is almost in the same investment category as bitcoin?

Girls love receiving gifts, especially when you give them on important occasions because it makes them love you even more and demonstrates how much you value them. But before giving them a present, you should think about what they would value more. It's nice to surprise people, but if the recipient doesn't know anything about bitcoin, she won't value it as much as she should. I think that if she is aware of it and understands how it works, she will adore it and may even decide to embrace and use bitcoin.

I suggest you give her something else she would like more because I don't see any point in giving her the bitcoin as she could possibly end up selling it all and using the money for something else.  Why not give her something else instead of wasting your investment.

I think you should drop the idea of gifting her Bitcoin on Your wedding day because firstly, as you stated, it's illegal in your country hence it would be hugely rejected. And secondly, women appreciate more, gifts that they can relate to and except she's got an idea of Bitcoin and it's value, you'd end up taking your gift back.

Better give your wife a beautiful wedding, and your half of the investment will become hers by law after you get married.  ;D

Perhaps you have other customs, I don’t know, but in my country it’s not customary, for a husband and wife to give gifts to each other, this is their holiday. Gifts are given to them, and their duty to organize a good wedding, there will be plenty of worries even without gifts.

Every gift that you will give to your wife is good as long as she likes it because gifting someone is one way to spread love to them and also they will appreciate your remembrance of them. But you really need to know some factors about gifting bitcoins because there are lots of basics and crucial things to know about it before you can even think to give it as a gift to someone who doesn't even know. It's best for you to gift them first what things they really like and you will gonna just give them BTC when they are ready or already know how to use it and knows how to protect their own crypto assets.

Bitcoin would be the last thing to give my wife as a gift on our wedding day, simply because she may not understand how valuable an Investment bitcoin is, and because of this, they won't appreciate it very much as expected..

And secondly, women are impressed more with physical gift, something they can see, touch, feel, and maybe show off to their friends, with Bitcoin as gift, she can't do any of this because bitcoin is not physical but visual.

So I will personally advice you keep your bitcoin and get your wife a proper gift, something you know she likes and would very much appreciate, you can keep the bitcoin, it's still for both of you to spend in the future.

Or better yet, ask your would be wife about her interests and what she wants, talk about your interests, a lot of y'all may think this gift idea seem sweet given that it's bitcoin and in a way, a financial security, but the problem is it's a gift that doesn't have any connection to your significant other, what I'm trying to say is if she's not interested in bitcoin if you bring it up then let go of that gift idea because it will go unappreciated deep inside her, subconsciously. To the OP, just keep the bitcoin for yourself, let her in when she wants to get in but right now, with your post that you didn't indicate her interests in bitcoin or crypto, maybe change your gift for now. Remember that it's not the gift that's important, it's the thought behind it.

Before taking this decision hope you won't start regretting it in the future, imagine your wife doesn't have any idea of what you giving her and she sees it as rubbish hope it won't make you feel bad. Is a very sweet gift and anyone who knows about it would scream the heavens out. To me I'd say you should try to know if your wife have any idea about Bitcoin or you should probably use the BTC and get her something expensive instead of giving it to her.

Is she aware of how to keep bitcoins and has basic knowledge about wallets and stuff? It's actually a good wedding gift and she'll surely be happy to receive it if she knows that bitcoins have value. I think that even she's not aware of bitcoin but later on you'll tell her that it's got a value and she can convert it to fiat, I think that she'll be able to learn it eventually and will be more than happy to accept more of it from you.

You just said that you still study, why are you desperate about what you are going to gift your wife, you haven't even finished studying not to talk of getting a job, wait till you get a job first before you start planning what you will gift your wife. Also whats the purpose of gifting your wife bitcoin, cant you just gift her what she will make use of after marriage? After you marry her you can easily teach her about bitcoin and you can invest for her or ask her to invest with her own money. The thread is of no use to me, you are not even ready to marry so why talking about what you will gift your wife, wait till you are planning your wedding first, and i wont recommend you give her bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still illegal in my country so I invested with caution.
Maybe you want to be arrested on your wedding day, firstly i need to know if you are going to gift her the bitcoin publicly or privately? If you are giving her publicly you might be arrested after your wedding because you just said that bitcoin is illegal in your country. If bitcoin is illegal in your country, then your investment should be hidden and if you are gifting or teaching anyone about bitcoin should be hidden.

If Bitcoin is illegal, I think you should initially probe what your wife thinks about Bitcoin and about illegal things. It will be good to know anyway if you're planning to get married, but especially considering a wedding present. I think that given half of what you've invested is a nice gesture, showing your commitment to share in this relationship (but you should explain the gift in this fashion, then). However, I think it also depends on a culture and context. Where I'm from, it's uncommon for the groom and/or bride to give wedding presents for their own wedding, for example, and it's all other people who are supposed to do that instead.

Whether you give your wife half of your investment on your wedding day or not, after that day she will claim half of everything you have. :) My advice: don't be stupid, man! Delay the approach of this day as long as possible. :D

I don’t know what nominal amount of bitcoin you have, if this is impressive money, then if I were you, I would not give half of my investment on the wedding day, but would give a small amount, for example, by signing a transaction on this significant day for you some phrase, leaving information about it on the blockchain forever. I'm assuming that your wife is new to the crypto realm, and therefore, it's very thoughtless to give her half of your bitcoin, because by mistake she can screw up. She doesn't need it, and neither do you. And if you become a family and you teach her how to use bitcoin and the basics of safe storage, then for sure, at least in case of unforeseen circumstances, you will leave information to your wife on how to access your investments. I suppose so.

Your initiative is very good, and it will be very uncommon.  But it is very difficult to say whether your wife will know about Bitcoin and whether she will be happy to have it.  But you have to guide your wife completely about Bitcoin.  But before gifting something to someone you have to remember that he knows about it.  For if one does not know about a gift, it seems strange to him.Hope your marriage will be successful in future.

Did your wife have any knowledge of bitcoin? Have you ever considered whether she will appreciate that as a gift even if you give her a bitcoin as a wedding gift did you think she can keep that if doesn't know how valuable it is she might sell it because I doubt that might not be really appreciate to her but at least you can get her something physically that even people will see that he has done well to his wife on their wedding day, just get her something good that is worth the amount of bitcoin you wanted to gift her.

It is money, obviously, his wife will appreciate it.  Since they are together, teaching the wife won't be an issue.  Whether she will sell it or not is out of your concern, IMO.

What I'm trying to say is that what if he gave her a bitcoin for her birthday and she didn't know much about it and the price kept dropping at the time he gave it to her, wouldn't you think the wife might feel bad about it that he didn't give her something that could be stable with nothing can happen? In my opinion, she might value that more than a bitcoin, but if his wife knows much more about bitcoin than he does.

What do you mean by Bitcoin os still illegal in you country, do you mean that the government placed a banned on bitcoin, or just that the central bank make restrictions on bank vs bitcoin transactions, we need to get something straight so that it can help our discussions in a more clearer way and manner.

Gifting your spouse a wedding gift in Bitcoin that is illegal in your jurisdictions is something that you need to first enlightened your spouse about Bitcoin, the best wallet to use, and how secure to protect your Bitcoin, with long-term goals, if not your spouse may not have the right orientation to appreciate the gift as expected of her

The idea is yours, and I can say it's a good thing if you want to be different, but what if your wife is not aware of what Bitcoin is? Will you at the same time turn to a teacher at that moment to enducate her first before giving the bitcoin to her? Just as other members are asking why not other special things as gift, I would have wanted to ask the same question, but it's still good that one can choose to do a different and do a unique thing. LoL, your wife will be like, "Mom, did you know my husband gave Bitcoin to me as a wedding gift?" and the mom will ask what Bitcoin is. Also, imagine if someone your wife is talking to about the Bitcoin gift is an envious friend. Well, it's just my imagination. But will you still ask your wife not to tell anyone that you gifted her Bitcoin? Unless your wife is already aware of Bitcoin and how the blockchain technology works, she will feel more happy about the Bitcoin you will give her as a gift; otherwise, she will not really be so convinced that Bitcoin is something that will be very valuable in the future. You know, ladies really love things that are very flashy; some of them see their worth the moment you give them to them. Just imagine telling your wife that your wedding gift to her is $10,000, but currently the money is on an investment that she can take out in 10 years. She might be happy, but not too happy because the money is not in her possession at that moment.

That’s a very unique and risky plan. I admire your courage and optimism in investing in Bitcoin, but I also wonder if you have considered the potential drawbacks. Bitcoin is volatile and unpredictable, and it may not be accepted or recognized as a legal currency in your country.

Why do you want to gift Bitcoin to your wife?  I don't know if your wife is familiar with Bitcoin and how happy she would be to receive Bitcoin as a gift.  So I think you should first educate your wife about bitcoins and teach her how to store bitcoins safely and how it works and then you can gift her bitcoins on her next birthday or wedding anniversary. Since this is your new wife and you are going to meet her for the first time, I don't think it's right to think of giving her bitcoins and it seems kind of funny to me.

I understand many have said many ways. If I give my wife some idea about Bitcoin history first. I will warn about it as it is illegal in our country. I will explain him well. I will make a deal with my wife, when I sell bitcoins, I will give half to my wife.
If it's illegal in your country then you don't know what you are doing, you are behaving like someone who is very stupid, pardon me for saying this, but it's true, you claimed you lover her and you want to gift her something that's illegal? Imagine gifting her gbe Bitcoin in front of the audience on you wedding day, don't you know that not all those who come to your wedding will wish you well? Some are your enemies in disguise, they might see this as an opportunity to deal with you and your wife.

If it's illegal then stay away from Bitcoin for now, or if you can be very careful, you can still hold Bitcoin without letting anyone knows.

If I were you I won't even let my wife know anything about Bitcoin for now becauSE it's illegal in the country, there is a chance that it will leak out, you should know what I meant if you are very familiar with women, they have lose mouths most times.

Is it a risk worth taking? It's better to find another gift to give to her, it's for your own good and your future life with your wife.

If your wife understands the importance of bitcoin, giving her one as a gift will be wonderful and very appreciated. However, since you mentioned that using Bitcoin is against the law in your country, I won't ever advise you to do so. She might bring it up with some of her closest friends and family members, and from there, it might be revealed that you and your wife are using Bitcoin, which, as you mentioned, is illegal in your country. This could get you into trouble because you are breaking the law by using Bitcoin.

Op In my opinion, there are other gift you can give your wife on the day of your wedding that she would truly like, such as jewelry, gold, or something else you think she always wanted. Allow your wife to settle in your home before getting her bitcoin, even if you want her to be a bitcoiner. If you want to surprise her, you may do it on her birthday after the wedding.

I think you should think carefully before giving bitcoin as a wedding gift. By your acceptance, understanding, and willingness to actually hold your wife's Bitcoin for a long time. In addition, when considering the legal status of Bitcoin in your country, you should assess the potential risks and implications for both of you if she discloses or makes the gift public. Make sure that you are both comfortable with the decision and aware of the potential challenges involved, such as storage, security, and privacy. In my opinion, it is still a good idea to consider alternative gift options that match your wife's preferences and your country's legal framework. It can be a meaningful and memorable gift without the risks and complications.

That sounds like a very romantic thing, especially to a Bitcoiner. However you should make sure that your future wife has the same Bitcoin mindset as you, otherwise she might not see it as a romantic gesture. Although there are always ways to make it seem as such ( for example you can tell her it's your future children's school funds).

Ask yourself if gifting money is frowned upon, in your country/culture before you decide on anything.

Good luck  ;D

@OP why not finish your study first get a job and serve your family first for some years before getting married.  Give back something to your parents for their perseverance in supporting you to finish your study.  Don't be selfish and self-centered planning to get married asap after you get a stable job.  Give time to support your family with your hard earned money as respect and being grateful for their continuous support.

And before gifting your future wife, you should try to find a beautiful gift to your parents as sign of gratitude.  May it be a Bitcoin or whatever.  Then after you done those service for your parents then find a girl to married and gift her Bitcoin as many as you wanted.

Funancial gifts at a wedding come from friends and family, but from the husband or wife it should be something special. Financially is tied after the marriage, so you give yourself the half od the half, or with the marriage your assets are shared with her. Give her something that nobody will give her because nobody knows what she really wants, that is a valuable gift... it doesnt have to cost a lot of money.

You know bitcoin is illegal in your country and yet you want to disclose you own bitcoin in such public setting. Unless you want to celebrate your honeymoon in a jail cell, I suggest you refrain from gifting your spouse bitcoin in public. Apart from the law, there are other reasons why you should not let people know about your bitcoin affairs, you never know who may get wind of this information and want to harm you.

If you were living in a country where bitcoin is legal, I still wouldn’t suggest bitcoin as a wedding gift. You can buy your wife expensive jewelry, she can wear it proudly and will love you dearly for it. Stop overthinking things, that’s no way to please a woman.

If your wife shows a genuine interest and demonstrates a solid understanding of Bitcoin, then you might consider giving her Bitcoin as a gift. Your decision should be based on her comfort level and enthusiasm for the property. However, by ensuring that your wife has a good background in Bitcoin, you can educate her on the topic and provide resources for her to learn more. This will help her develop a discerning perspective and determine her level of interest in Bitcoin. Therefore, giving Bitcoin makes the most sense and is most beneficial when the recipient is really interested in and knowledgeable about cryptocurrencies.

I don't know if it's only in our country, but there is this thing called Conjugal property which has a definition of this: LINK (https://www.realliving.com.ph/real-estate/money-matters/yours-mine-ours-what-you-need-to-know-about-conjugal-properties-a00010-20211216#What%20Is%20A%20Conjugal%20Property%20and%20Is%20It%20Limited%20to%20Real%20Estate%20Investments?)
Quote
conjugal properties aren’t limited to houses and real estate investments. “It includes those obtained or acquired by either or both of the spouses from their work or profession, or income from the exclusive property of a spouse among others
Obviously, this applies to our country, but the point is whenever both the couple are married already, all of the belongings of both the men, and the women will be owned by both of them already. That includes anything from income, to expenses, to assets etc. and that includes Bitcoin. The question is, why bother giving your "future" wife a gift where in fact you will be marrying her in the future. It's complete nonsense if you will give him that kind of gift where in fact, both of you own that Bitcoin already.

I mean I don't know if it's a good idea or not that you will be giving your "future" wife Bitcoin especially knowing that Bitcoin is illegal in your country, but it would be better if you will just give him another kind of gift. Like a travel maybe? Or whatever it is.

You also said stated that you will give your "future" wife Bitcoin "IF YOU GET A GOOD JOB" meaning currently you aren't have one yet. Maybe it would be better if you find a stable job first before marrying your partner (if you have).

I think it's better for you to give something that can be remembered in old age. As a symbol of marriage. Such as rings, jewelry, diamonds, or gems. I don't think I will give bitcoins to people who don't know anything about bitcoins. I think that's a bad move

The question now does your wife have an idea about Bitcoin the idea you can know whether she going to value it or not, women can be very funny since the only thing they are attached to is material things cloths and bags, and I think gifting her is still not a bad idea at all since it involves money, she would not mind learning about and spending the bitcoin, and another thing is that I feel you should observe her first before concluding to make that decision of sharing half of you wealth, women are always full of surprice before they will run with your money. be wise bro. ;D

If you really think that your wife is going to appreciate such a thoughtless gift like Bitcoin, you are totally wrong. Liquidate the Bitcoin and get something that would be special to her.

I am all for giving Bitcoin as gifts to people where cash would also be appropriate, like birthdays, christmas, and holidays like this...but on a wedding? Really man? The same thing is saying "here is some cash go and buy bitcoin". The only difference is that you bought it. It's a terrible idea and I don't think you should do it unless you want to potentially upset your wife off with a gift that is so thoughtless and non-personal.

If you want to involve Bitcoin with your wife, set up a joint portfolio and enjoy managing it together after you're comfortable with doing so after you're married.

I don't understand how people here can be this negative about gifting bitcoin. Yes it is usually not the easiest to convert bitcoin back into fiat if you don't know what you are doing, but if you get somebody bitcoin the will have a huge incentive to figure that out. For that reason I would recommend to gift only a small amount in bitcoin and not the whole amount. Simply generate a paper wallet for that and redeem like this:

Obtain a digital wallet: Choose a reputable cryptocurrency wallet that supports the specific cryptocurrency stored in your paper wallet.
Install and set up the wallet: Download and install the chosen wallet software or app. Follow the instructions to set up a new wallet account.

Thank you all very much. everyone gave me a lot of good advice. Many people say don't gift your wife bitcoins. Anyway after marriage I will give my wife a good idea about Bitcoin. If he understands, I will consider giving away half of my investment in bitcoins. And I'll ask my wife if she's happy with Bitcoin.
Thank you all.

She will not appreciate it if she didn't use bitcoin nor participate on any activaty which involve bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Much really better to liquidate that and buy all what he like since physical gifts are most appreciated by girls. I really appreciate those guys trying to involve their wife on Bitcoin so maybe they should see first if our wife is interested to learn about it and teach her if he's really willing to take a risk also ready to get stress on market activity.

Think of it this way, if you want to involve your wife in something that is still illegal in your country, that's not a very good move. You may cause problems and it may affect your relationship, because it depends on how your wife sees this as an investment or an asset. You didn't mention any views on your wife, so it might not be as good as we hoped.

Maybe invest your money from your bitcoins into something memorable for you and your wife. It would make a better wedding gift than bitcoin itself.

From the looks, OP said bitcoin is illegal in their country and possibly op is doing bitcoin trading or investment in secret way so the government can not come for OP. If OP would say that he would gift his wife as a surprise gift then it is assumed that OP wife is not aware OP does bitcoin trading and possibly she does not know much or anything about bitcoin.  I think if OP does not do the needful by educating his wife about bitcoin then I think his wife might definitely not know the importance and value attached to bitcoin and would definitely not care about the gift.
OP can invest for his wife on bitcoin then possibly buy a gift for his wife while he keeps  the bitcoin investment a secret from his wife and concentrate on teaching her to know and broaden her knowledge about bitcoin before giving her the surprise bitcoin gift.
That would be very much romantic OP.

You are a student as well as a bitcoin holder so it is appreciable and also you desires to find a good job which implies that you don't depend on bitcoin completely which is also a good feature.

I think that you should give your wife a gift which she knows well, bitcoin is famous asset but all females are not aware of it and if your wife does not know about bitcoin she will consider it as a useless thing.

one cannot understand the benefits of bitcoin quickly, it will take time so I will suggest that give another wedding gift to your wife and if you want to make her bitcoin holder then first teach him about it after that she will easily understand the value of bitcoin.

I would have easily said not the perfect gift for a wife!

But then again, we can not profile every wife to be in this bracket as everyone has their own unique interests, habits, likes  and what not...and Bitcoin being a type of money this wouldn't be a bad gift for the tech savvy women, unlike those that are just into posh cars ,clothes, diamonds etc
But in this time and age its unfortunate most still do not not know what this is all about, but it should be worth a try to see if the women know about cryprocurrencies such as Bitcoin  :)

If your future wife is into cryptocurrency, she will surely be grateful of your gift but if she's clueless about it and still got no idea about Bitcoin works especially if it's illegal in your country, you better buy her something that will surely catch her interest. Bitcoin is actually a good present idea but not everyone will appreciate it, to be honest.
Before I got married, me and my husband were already into the crypto industry but we didn't touch our Bitcoin investment until now. We had our assets shared and we had a co-ownership on it. However, not all women are into crypto unless you would educate your girlfriend as early as possible about the importance of Bitcoin investment so if you'll give Bitcoin as a wedding present, she'll know how to handle it. If you are having doubts, better give her something that she can treasure and value wholeheartedly as a woman.

You may consider gifting her Bitcoin, if you're looking for a unique and forward-thinking gift. While it may not be the traditional choice, if your wife is tech-minded and values financial goals and interests, she definitely appreciate such a gift.

Of course, it's true that many women enjoy gifts like clothes, gold, or jewelry ornaments, but ultimately it's the sentiment and thought behind a gift that matter most.

Women are very emotional, will she be able to cope with the market volatility? Another question is that will she be able to handle losses and did she understand what bitcoin is all about? I assume you know that women want show off, they will tell their friends the surprises they had from their husband, they also like show off and want to make her friends, if you are buying her Bitcoin, I will advice you do in small quantity so she doesn't cry later that her investment has crash; Women will always be women and they can get emotional at slight time if she get to see that her yesterdy $10k has been reduced by value.

Bitcoin as a gift should be given to someone who asks for it. Maybe in one of your conversations your wife mentioned wanting Bitcoin as a gift then great,  it's likely that she knows about Bitcoin. But in the situation where she doesn't know anything about Bitcoin, then refrain from gifting her Bitcoin. In terms of giving gifts you should know that whatever gifts you are giving in Bitcoin should be an amount you can afford to lose. Right?

Why do you think women can’t cope with the market volatility. And I think men are as emotional as women but are better at hiding their emotions so as not to be classified as weak or soft.
I see no reason why the OP can’t gift the wife some bitcoin as a gift. If she properly understands what bitcoin entails and how volatile it is, she won’t be surprised that her $10k has reduced overnight.
There are lots of women who are also bitcoin holders and can handle the price fluctuations as well.

What I would recommend is getting her some physical bitcoin, that way it's something she can tangebly hold in her hand, and they make from great presents.  Here are some of the less expensive physical bitcoins that you might want to consider to use as wedding gifts.

Satori chips are these orange poker chip style coins/chips. They hold .001BTC each and run around $150 or .0059BTC

The other chips are BTCC exchange chips.  These would be a bit more expensive and as you can see have different deonominations.

I would head to the collectibles sub channel here on bitcointalk if you're interested in doing something like this. There's a ton of stuff out there.

Not all women are the same. There are girls we know that they want jewelry, as they are closed-minded on Bitcoin; they only prefer gold, silver, and diamonds, but there are also women that, no matter what you give them, they will appreciate it, like gifting bitcoin, which they will appreciate mostly if you explain more about it. Also explaining volatility for the new person in Bitcoin is that their first impression is that they will lose money from it. But again, this depends on the person, but if both of you are interested in Bitcoin, then for sure both of you will like it.

I dont know the traditions in your country, but does really husband and wife give each other presents on their wedding day? I mean guests usually give presents. For future husband and wife, organizing a wedding is already a huge expenses, that is why giving presents seems weird to me. Anyway, I dont think that Bitcoin is going to be a good present. It is a wedding, a day you two become a family. Your present should be about family, love.

Giving your wife bitcoin for a wedding gift isn't a bad idea, for a gift is a gift as long as it's not harmful and has value but such value can only be well appreciated of a gifted by the receiver if he/she knows the value of what is being gifted. From all indication your wife has no crypto knowledge so it would be important and necessary you first of all school her about the uses and value of bitcoin and what makes bitcoin uniquely different from the normal fiat money she knows.

Now, going by the fact that bitcoin is restricted and banned in your country do you think it would be safe enough to have your wife know about your involvement with bitcoin being a banned currency in your country. Can she keep your secret intact from family and close friends? Think critically before getting excited by your decision.

First of all congratulations on your new married life. But my question is why do you give your wife bitcoins on wedding night where all husbands gift their wives with other interesting things on their wedding night. And how do you know if the person you're marrying knows Bitcoin? If your new wife has no idea about Bitcoin, Bitcoin will seem worthless to her. Since you are involved with Bitcoin I think you might get your new wife interested in Bitcoin. If your plan is like this, I hope everything goes according to your plan.

If you gonna present her Bitcoin, be sure to make that presentation properly. Not a piece of paper with address and seed phrase, not a ledger which you gonna refill later or have it already set. This has to be original. Otherwise if you do it on public, those who are not aware of crypto, will think that you gave her a simple USB flash drive, or a coupon for something.

P.S. How about creating a special NFT about your wedding and give it to her ?

If it is illegal, then that is a big problem, and it is not a good idea, unless both of them know crypto or bitcoin. If he is the only one who knows bitcoin, then it is not a good idea to gift her, but again, it is always a good start or like a stepping stone for his wife to know bitcoin. For sure, she will appreciate it, as we know the value of it, but the case is that it is illegal, so for sure she wants other gifts aside from it.

This should have been better discussed if you had done the marriage already and gifted her the Bitcoin before sharing your intention, it would have been very interesting to know her reaction over these gift because not so many people are aware of BTC. However, ensure she's enlightened on things about Bitcoin before gifting her BTC to study if she will have passion for BTC because she might feel ungrateful because she doesn't know the worth of the gift and not necessarily telling her about your intention on the weeding day.

Quite an important point here and I agree with what you say. Why try to make something difficult for a wedding gift because when you say it's illegal, there are definitely situations where we can relate to sanctions and giving a gift like this won't it only make things difficult for the wife herself.
Even though being in bitcoin is something good, of course we also can't bring everyone into conditions where that is not allowed. Even if you can do it doesn't mean your wife also has to do it.
I don't support or suggest anything about this because indeed this is still hindered by regulations, so you should wait and don't be too impulsive with bitcoin investments.

You are right that if bitcoin is illegal in your country then you should not give it to your wife as a gift because you know the fact that female cannot save the secret. You will think about the good time through bitcoin but perhaps it will make you hopeless and you will be unable to do anything.

I think that if it is banned in your country then you should avoid this thing instead of spreading this news because it can be risky for you.

Bitcoin investment is good source of income and once a person get profit from it he can never leave so it is important to not involve your wife in such activities.

Of course you can, you will reward your wife later with half of your bitcoin assets. However, if you feel that your wife would appreciate more physical gifts like rings, diamonds and gems you should consider this option. You can give other gifts that have special meaning and can remind him of you. If you still want to give Bitcoin, my advice is that you can combine these two options by giving Bitcoin Assets and jewelry with Bitcoin designs as gifts.

But considering that in your country bitcoin is still illegal, it's better if your intention to reward bitcoins should just be aborted. Because at the time of the wedding, of course, many family and friends were present, of course this will make your wedding widely spread and of course the news of your marriage will reach the government. The intention of the heart is to please your wife, even if you have problems with the law later.

Btw, an idea like yours has happened in my country in 2021, a couple wants to get married with a dowry of 2 bitcoins and this news is widely spread on tv. Sorry the news is in my country language, you can use translation.

If you need a very candid advice from me, I will strongly advice that you don't do that. She may not really appreciate it because she doesn't know the value. Get her something she can relate well with and appreciate, not something that will be a mystery to her.

If your wife doesn't know about crypto or Bitcoin I think she wouldn't really appreciate it much.

There are very few countries where the bitcoin is legal so this does not mean that people in those countries do not buy bitcoin. People who have knowledge about bitcoin, they keep on accumulating it no matter if they live in crypto friendly country or in a region where the use of crypto is illegal.

If your wife knows about crypto, then this may be the best gift you can give it to her. People usually give gold to their wives, I would rather suggest to start giving bitcoin instead of Gold.  If money is important to you then note that the ROI is very high on Bitcoin as compared to Gold or any other asset.

They will become a family after the wedding, most likely they will have a common budget, so I don’t see the point in such gifts, especially if the wife is not familiar with the topic of cryptocurrencies, then for her this gift can be tantamount to giving her a wedding gift money.

It is better, if the wife does not know that her husband is buying bitcoin, tell about it and say how much bitcoin they have, no need to try to share something from the first days of marriage. If you decide to become a family, now you have everything in common, if you want to give bitcoin, give all your bitcoins, not half.

the main thing before you give bitcoin to your wife as a gift, my question is does your wife know what bitcoin is, if you don't know it's better to buy her real gold. he will be happy with you giving some of your btc, because not many married women want to know what bitcoin is, what they think is how their family is safe and prosperous in household matters,
I say so because I am a housewife, worthy of your wife. and I know crypto from one of my social media friends, not me finding out myself

If I were you, I would not give my wife a Bitcoin if I had a lot of money. There are many gifts to give your wife, but the finest is something she always says. I suppose your wife was unfamiliar with Bitcoin, thus I believe she became curious and surprised that you chose Bitcoin as your gift. Some women are quite materialistic, and I believe that gifting Bitcoin can make them happy. Because of how you treat them, you may be the reason why your wife is different from before. I believe it is also best if I provide my wife knowledge of cryptocurrency as a gift.

I'm sure brides dream many things for their wedding day, things that maybe they have been dreaming around since they were kids, and I'm pretty sure bitcoin is not on that list ;D If you want to buy BTC as future investment for you, as a couple, that's a great idea, but I would never give her BTC on wedding day, choose something that you know she will actually love. Don't screw up that day.

Although I'm on the side of sentimentality here and advising him to actually giving her wife something that holds some sort of emotional value instead of something that she might not even have a stark of idea like bitcoin, I wouldn't really say it's a bad choice like what you're trying to point here. Sure, wedding day, sentimentality, emotions are on an all-time-high outpour but at the same time securing your married future financially is also something that you have to take into account. I wouldn't really give it to her on her wedding day and would only give it to her perhaps some other time but having someone in your life be this thoughtful to give you something that is this cool and future-proof is not so bad, which is I'm with you on that.

I want your advice
there is nothing wrong with your wedding gift to your wife, as long as the goal is to be able to share and provide education at the same time about bitcoin which is still illegal in your country and requires an initial explanation so there is no misunderstanding. giving bitcoin prizes is certainly an investment that can be used in the long term with all the benefits in the end.
but because it's still illegal, please also don't expose it too much because you might run into problems later, but about giving bitcoins I really appreciate that.

It’s happy to here you are going to married soon.Secondly you are good forum member by encouraging the bitcoin with others, sharing the crypto knowledge with your friends it’s essential one.By sharing more crypto knowledge, the educated people all around the world can do better knowing about crypto currency. How much you had earned from the crypto currency is my eager towards the earning. Also check your wife had interest in knowing more about the cryptocurrency. When she interested, you should teach her more about the crypto currency and then gift the most valuable bitcoin.

find a good job first before completely planning to give her a bitcoin because once bitcoin increase to a million dollar before you finding a job? Am not sure if you will still consider this gift giving.
and also why need to give a wife a gift when after marriage everything that you own will be hers as well?as conjugal property .

First of all congratulations on your new married life.
If you can read and understand the post well, you will see that he is not married yet, he is just a student and he is planning to marry after graduating from school and getting a job. also he didn't mention either the person he is planning to marry knows about bitcoin or not.

As you've mention Bitcoin is still illegal in your country so why would you give her something that could put her in danger?
I don't know why some people will put themselves in problem just because they want to promote bitcoin, if you know bitcoin is illegal in your country, then why will you have to promote bitcoin publicly, when you know that you are endangering your life and your wife's own, if bitcoin is illegal in your country, then stop promoting bitcoin publicly, wait till when it will be legal then you can promote it publicly. if you really want to promote bitcoin, then do that privatly, nobody will know. if you want to help your wife invest in bitcoin, then buy the bitcoin and hand over everything to the wallet to her privately.

I know that you just want to make it unique but we should also consider the receiver does they want the gift that we would give them? would they appreciate it just like how they would appreciate normal gifts or how would they feel about it?
If your wife doesn't know about crypto or Bitcoin I think she wouldn't really appreciate it much.
what's the purpose of gifting your wife a bitcoin and after receiving it she ended up selling it back immediately again, she is a woman and you are giving her a wedding gift, from my perspective i believe she wont really appreciate bitcoin as a gift. The best thing to do is know know what your wife needs, then it will determine the kind of gift you will be getting for her.

She will definitely gonna appreciate it as a gift, if only the next day Bitcoin price grows :) But if she will see a price reduction during a good period of time, she might really get disappointed. OP, also think how you will look in father-in-law and mother-in-law eyes, and other guests. If you gonna give your present on public, are you sure everyone gonna understand your gift? If you do it privately, she will tell her parents about that gift anyway. If they are not tech guys, and she is not a tactical person, you will end with a guy who gave a virtual gift... I would better think of a more romantic gift, but later just give half of private key to her.

Honestly, I don't think mentioning bitcoin in this case makes sense. The wedding day is the most important in every woman's life, so do whatever makes them as happy as possible. If the bride doesn't know anything about bitcoin, it would be ridiculous to give it to her, I really don't like the idea.

Moreover, he said that bitcoin is not legal in his country, and giving bitcoin on his wedding day is no different than declaring to everyone that he is investing in bitcoin. This may cause his small family more trouble than make his wife happy.

It's not everyone' cup of tea, especially if Bitcoin exists in a legal fog in your land. But, dont ignore the high growth potential of this unorthodox gift. If the bride and her clan are progressive, they might appreciate this future-ready move.

Consider this, Bitcoin, despite its wild price swings, has charted an ascendant path in the long run. If the bride can hodl, the gift might balloon in value. It's a risk, but isn't investing always a gamble?

However, I concede that this demands tactful handling to sidestep legal or societal consequences. Educating the bride and her family about Bitcoin before presenting it seems sensible. It could spark intriguing chats about decentralized finance and money' future at the reception!

Giving your wife a bitcoin is like giving her a huge thing that she will benefit from. Since many people don't understand bitcoin, it is still illegal in your country. I know someone who gave his wives bitcoin as a wedding gift, and the wives were incredibly appreciative of the enormous gift.
So, in my opinion, giving your wife a bitcoin on her wedding day is a really significant gift. However, it also relies on how much she is familiar with bitcoin; if she isn't, I believe she won't appreciate it.

But is it really a wise move for him to do it on his wedding day? I mean, people will know about him investing and owning bitcoin while bitcoin is illegal in their country. Furthermore, that bitcoin gift will only make sense if the bride knows the value of bitcoin and everyone knows about it. Otherwise, it won't make their wedding day any happier. There are many meaningful wedding day gifts, but bitcoin is not one of them, giving bitcoin on the wedding day is just bragging, IMO.

I think it's a good gift by giving bitcoin to your wife on her wedding day, But I think better giving her ledger too.
May I know, what is the reason of your country, why do your government still think that Bitcoin is still illegal?

Every women wait for a wedding day with bated breath. She sees everything in pink colors, pigeons everywhere, beautiful white dress, smiling guests. And a husband with black box appears with ledger inside. How romantic (not). She hasnt been waited this for her entire life. I think there are only two appropriate gifts for wedding - money or journey. Everything else new family will buy together. It will be their first together decisions.

What is the reason to give Bitcoin as a gift? Because you are interested in Bitcoin? What if a person is interested in motorsport for example? Should wife then bring him new racing tires on a wedding ceremony?

P.S. I think this topic was created to lure some merit. We are on crypto forum. We should talk only about crypto. I will create a topic about promoting crypto. I will get lots of positive feedback. That what a lot of people think who create such topics here.

P.P.S. I can create similar topic - my kid goes to school. As a lunch money, I will give Bitcoin. First - I am teaching my kid about crypto and investment. Second - I am creating crypto more popular. Look how good crypto enthusiast I am.

I think it's not a good idea, since:
1)halving the wealth at the joyful day of the birth of the new family is not a good idea due to the fact that in new family all the wealth now belongs to both of you.
2)BTC is illegal in your country, most people of the world dont know what BTC is, so wour wife's relatives can think that you are going to involve her into a dangerous game.
3)at the day of your wedding she wants you to show her all your love, while expression of love is a traditional thing. So it's better to make traditional gifts and "feminine" gifts, while all the software products are modern and not that feminine. Wedding gift, IMHO, should be at the same time expensive and traditional: jewellery, clothing, a good vacation trip etc. And, if in the place you live in there is a custom of gifting certain presents for wedding, then these things are a priority.

What if your wife does not know anything about Bitcoin and about, ways to store and invest it, and so on? As if you gave her something unknown; in addition to that, if she knew that Bitcoin is illegal in your country, the gift will be an unpleasant thing for her because she does not have sufficient experience and culture, and her responses will be harmful towards your wedding gift. The best thing is that you invest in Bitcoin if you have enough experience and information, and through the profits of your investment in Bitcoin, you can give her an appropriate, tangible, and familiar gift for her. Do not give her half of your investment in Bitcoin. I appreciate that you know the unparalleled value of Bitcoin and the mighty power of its technology, and we are all convinced that this is a really outstanding gift, better than gold or precious metals, but excuse me, thousands of people do not know and are ignorant of the truth about this matter, so keep the secret of your investment to yourself and do not tell her about it until the day that your wife gains sufficient experience and education.

I don't think you should give this bitcoin to your wife. You can lose them if your wife is not knowledgeable about how to use and secure them.
There are too many cases of being hacked, or being tricked into transferring bitcoins. You should teach your wife how to use a Bitcoin wallet before handing over the property to your wife

there are several question that you need to answer before we give a good advice such

1. Do your wife have knowledge about Bitcoin?

2. Do your wife ready about that Illegal action that you may both come to enter?

3. Are you ready going to jail and be blame by your wife because of this gift giving bitcoin you plan?

I am asking this because I don't want to ruin your marriage life just because of Bitcoin as in the end?
bitcoin will be the reason why there is a family that both go to jail.

we are not against your plan as bitcoin support and investors we love what you wanted to give her
but the problem is the restriction of your country in which if you are a true law abiding citizen ten you must consider all these views.

I think, gifting bitcoins to your wife is not very good, unless your wife is a trader or interested in it. Since you said bitcoin is illegal, I'm not sure your wife would be interested in that, but if she likes it, then that's probably good enough.
It's just that, for the wedding day, it might be better if you sell some of the bitcoins you've invested in something that looks physical, or invest in real estate and give it to your wife. that way, your wife can show off something to her family that it is the result of your gift. well, i think it's more romantic. however, it all depends on you because she is your wife.

You have a point, as it is still money, or probably his wife will also sell it off because they needed it. That is why it is better to gift some sort of tangible one, but again, it is his choice. Also,  by giving all his bitcoin to his wife, that is good, mostly if it is in a trezor wallet, and just explain to her that it is very valuable, and because you trust her, you are going to give it all to her, and she should take care of it. Though it is not kind of bragging, anyone in the wedding should hear the wordbitcoin. It may or may not be appreciated by those, but still, for sure, they'll get curious about it.

You missed the point that bitcoin is not legal in his country, as far as he said. So it may not be bragging, but going public with bitcoin in a banned country is also something to avoid if he doesn't want to get in trouble after the wedding is over. As for me, when investing in bitcoin, we value privacy, so there is no reason to brag in such public places, especially as it would involve legal issues. I really don't think it's a good idea. But in the end, the decision is still his.

In a country with Bitcoin prohibition, you can have legal troubles if you buy and sell your coin and government agencies, authorities know about that. You will not be any issue if you do it privately like on non KYC exchanges and store your coins in your non custodial wallets.

So just considering about how you buy and sell your coins. If the entry is privately, you can safely store your coins without engagement from government, without legal issue with them.

Buying coins with cash on non KYC exchanges https://kycnot.me/?cash=on

When you finish your coin buying, you can send it to your wife's non custodial wallet.

Acctially i think you shouldn’t gift Bitcoin to your wife on wedding. Because gift should be visible which can be show for public. Your wife will want to show her friend's and family. But it is very difficult to show. On the other hand Bitcoin is illegal in your country. So i think another gift is better for your wife.

But i salute for your mentality. You want to give half of your bitcoin fund as gift to your wife it it great. I know wife life partner and half of husband's life. So you want to give her half of your assets. It is proper utilised. But my advice give another gift to your wife in wedding which your wife can show her friends and family members.

It is best to decide by you what gift to give your wife instead of letting someone else tell you. There is no obligation to give only Bitcoin as a gift to your wife . I think since a person is given a gift to make her happy, in this case if your wife doesn't know much about Bitcoin, she won't be happy at all with this gift, but if you give her something she likes as a gift, in this case, girls are more like jewelry.  If you prefer, you can also gift her gold. And tolding you to hold the bitcoin for your future life.

Since you are still a student, I wish your plan to be fulfilled in the future. The initiative you have taken is essentially one that no one to my knowledge has taken up to date. It is really interesting as you will gift Bitcoin to your wife during your marriage. You invest in Bitcoin from now on and this Bitcoin will come in handy when you get married in the future. But Bitcoin is illegal where you live so you have to be careful. It would be better if you give your wife half of what you invest. But before giving your wife bitcoins and gift, you must educate her about common sense. I would like to give you this advice, definitely educate your wife about cryptocurrency before giving it to bitcoin.

Oh dear, I think I missed the presents ...

In any case, you have several good reasons not to give btc to your wife:

1. The first reason is that if your future wife doesn't know bitcoin, this gift won't mean anything to her.
2. If btc is banned in your country, keep your secret to yourself. You'd also be exposing her unnecessarily to possible sanctions.
3. If there's a problem with the private keys, you'll blame her. Keep your keys to yourself.
4. Although I wish you a long and happy life with your wife, we don't know what it has in store for us. In the event of divorce/separation, illegal secrets only bring problems.
5. Give her a real personalized gift, she'll be touched by the fact that you care about what she loves. If she loves flowers, then cover her with them.
6. Gifts are nothing if actions don't follow. Make her day-to-day life happy and take an active part in household chores and child-rearing.

I wish you every happiness

On my wedding day I want to gift half of my investment to my wife.
Should I gift bitcoin to my wife? I want your advice
Not a bad idea  but rather than  giving bitcoin  to your wife, why not take  your time to teach her about it and let her get the proper knowledge  about it and if she finally picks up interest in it, then you can practically  gift her some coon but then but the best gift for her is the knowledge of she doesn't have it yet before the coins.

I think, gifting bitcoins to your wife is not very good, unless your wife is a trader or interested in it. Since you said bitcoin is illegal, I'm not sure your wife would be interested in that, but if she likes it, then that's probably good enough.
No one is actually  not going to be interested  in money especially  when it is free and there might be tendencies that if you don't get your wife the necessary grounding, then she might be basically  interested in just wa ting to sell to fiat and not the other benefits attached to it.

Gifts arent really necessary when you do get married, it do just turns out that it do become that traditional. Its true that gifting some bitcoin isnt that bad but of course you would really be needing some consideration
on looking whether your wife to be is really that aware about it because it wont really be appreciated if she doesnt have any idea at all on what she had received. Not to be advanced then its true that there's no such or no one does know on what the future holds but if you've been thinking about separation or getting divorced then its better not to become married at all. Love does have no boundaries on which if you do love a
certain person then loyalty and pouring all the love that you do have to him/her would be always that common act. Be dubtious or having that advanced thinking will really be putting you on anxiety
and being worried for the rest of your life which i could consider to be a toxic kind of assumptions.

Everyone thinks what they want. For example, you know you're going to die one day, but that's not why you live in anguish. When you make a will, it's not because you're going to die, but because you're making sure that everything goes smoothly (especially if your heirs don't get along).

When you buy bitcoins, you also know that the price may fall or that you may be hacked, but you're not going to spend your life stressing either.

When you drive a car, you can also die in an accident, but you don't think about it every time either.

When you start a business, it's to make it work. However, it is essential to go see an accountant so that, if it does not work, you are not also forced to sell your personal house to pay off the debts.

You marry for love, but over time everyone changes and sometimes you get divorced. Some people even end up hating each other and doing the worst things to each other. It's better to think about it now, rather than be ruined afterwards, thinking "Gee, I never imagined it could end like this".

And there's no point in saying it only happens to other people and I'm going to live happily ever after with my wife. Nobody knows what can happen.

If you think your wife will enjoy bitcoin you should gift here some to make her a responsible and independent person. However, it's important to ensure that the wife is knowledgeable about Bitcoin and its management before gifting it.

I don't know what your culture is, but where I'm from, you don't need to give gifts as money, or any other type of asset or liability,  so in my case it would have more value for her another type of gift.

When two people get married they share everything, so as I said, perhaps in your culture it is important to give money/bitcoin to your wife, in my case anything else would make her happy, that is, like giving her something that is supposed to already belong to her.

I am very amused by your thoughts about bitcoins it is not an exception thought but if you give bitcoins to your wife you should know before you get married if your wife knows about bitcoins then she will understand what you gifted her.

It is never too late to tell his wife about Bitcoin.  Since they will be together, there are lots of time coaching his wife about Bitcoin.  So the issue of the wife not knowing about Bitcoin isn't an issue at all since  I am sure @OP have figured it out if ever his wife is not knowledgeable about Bitcoin.

I highly agree.  The property of each person is owned by two.  So basically the Bitcoin the husband has is also the property of the wife.

1. Remember that bitcoin is banned in OP's country. Of course, if his wife wants to know more, she has to learn, but if she's not interested then there's not much to do.

2. In france we have what we call a marriage contract. It protects the spouse/husband in the event of bankruptcy, or protects one of the spouses if the other turns out to be greedy. It seems that there are only dreamers here on this thread, so much the better, as long as you don't wake up in the middle of a nightmare  :-[

it is your right as a husband. by giving it to your wife, of course you teach your wife about bitcoin, so that bitcoin will be increasingly known. many have previously given dowry in the form of bitcoin at the time of their marriage, and of course it will be a good investment to support the family's economy in the future. as long as we still have other income, it is hoped that in the long run it will provide good benefits for the family

Its your choice but that is a very unique gift. You must also  teach your future wife to study bitcoin first, and everything about it like doing qnd conducting transactions. Learn how to use wallet , secured and understand how it works. There are some form of gift om some platform for bitcoin gifts but its better to set it up on your own for protection. Why not gift her cash and let her buy the bitcoin herself so she can learn it actual from creating wallet to usage of it.

Does someone really think that a person, that is far from crypto world will understand and evaluate crypto as a gift? Crypto is a complicated gift. Not everyone is ready to spend his time to understand what he was given. I would go with simply cash money gift instead. Because your wife can easily and quickly use them. She donr have to ask you for assistance, exchange and know other nuances. But giving her crypto - that will automatically turn her into holder. But what if she dont want to be it.

I just turned to ask my wife if she wanted bitcoin or cash, and she quickly replied me cash even though she knows the value of bitcoin because I talked about it a long time ago.  it can be said that everyone's taste is different, OP likes bitcoin doesn't mean his wife will like it too.  the wedding day is a big day for a woman, so find ways to please the person you love, not just think for yourself.  I will give gifts or cash as you say will be more practical.

I completely agreed with you about this because we all know crypto is complicated thing with OP already mention its ban in his country which mean it's never been easy to understand this all so and OP is also going to start his new life with this all he needs to understand his wife's mindset as well maybe she doesn't like this idea and love to have cash which is also use able in other purposes as well.

But if he still wants to give her bitcoin as gift then surely first give her all information's and updates about this because it's also must without understanding of crypto and bitcoin she never knows what to do with this and how reliable is this gift and wedding gift is surely one of the most memorable gift so going with mutual understanding is good.

I think when you're a husband and wife, sharing all your secrets is a good thing because it shows sincerity to each other. If even your wife, you don't trust, it's best not to marry her because living in the same house but always calculating and doubting each other will not bring happiness and can't even be called marriage.

Lol. Another proof how different we are. Men are more practical, women emotional. I think that cash is the best wedding gift. With its help, you can get whatever you can afford. With crypto or kind of a certificate - you are bond to specific actions to do until you can use a gift. As if you get a gift, but to be able to use its full potential, you need to do some extra actions.

Everyone gives some gift to the wife in marriage. And the wife happily accepted the gift. But I don't know how popular it is to give bitcoins as a gift to a wife at a wedding. Let's say from my side, when I got married I didn't have much interest in Bitcoin. And I didn't know much about Bitcoin. But people like me couldn't gift bitcoins to the wife at the wedding. Consider gifting bitcoins to wife on wedding anniversary

There will be lots of people who will share their ideas and if you don't like any of idea then surely you will be angry so I will suggest that this thing is private so you should keep this gift private and upto you and your wife there is no need of involvement of third person.

As we talk about bitcoin so I don't think female will easily understand bitcoin and also it is not permitted in your country so don't put yourself in unfavorable situations where you cannot get rid of such a hard condition. You will do good for your wife and for yourself but unfortunately it will turn into bad thing if this news go towards authorities of your countries.

I think there's more valuable thing that you can give to your wife not all things can be done by giving materialistic ideas to the one you've love. You can teach her if she is interested giving her bitcoin is like giving her only cold cash that can be gone so easily but I am not saying that do not do it because it is not good idea but for me there's more thing to give to her on your wedding day something that is remarkable.

Stop there man, you have to look out the window that there are a lot of women who are pretty well versed in bitcoin and involved in the industry these days. But perhaps, most women still don't understand how bitcoin works or even know what bitcoin is. But rest assured, they are not a group of women who are smart in digital technology.

Other than that, I don't see a big connection between the legality of bitcoin and women's knowledge of bitcoin. If they know the developing technology, then they will definitely know what bitcoin is. Wise advice, go to Youtube and find out how many women have become content creators about crypto.

This is what is interesting to you and not to her, and this is the whole problem. as for me it is better to find out from her parents or friends what she wants to receive on this day and fulfill it. And you can give bitcoin to her for any other holiday when she is really interested in it and she understands it. Our interests do not always coincide with others, always remember this.

I think you should invest and purchase BTC for you to HODL it long-term. Regardless if you want to give it to your wife as a wedding gift or not, you should definitely invest in BTC. Though it may be somehow difficult given the current circumstances surrounding your country of its prohibition, the fact that you purchased it already makes it possible for you to do it.

Personally, I would give my wife something that she would understand and love. Giving her BTC as a form of investment is like giving someone shares of stock to a certain company. I mean, it is not bad per se but a wedding gift should be something that is tangible for her to remember as a remembrance of your wedding.

You're right dear. I think it's hilarious.

To read things like that in 2023, I find it incredible., I don't know in what culture and country one can still sincerely think like that, but the simple fact that he posted that message proves that there is internet at home, and therefore that access to information is possible. So why women shouldn't have access to information and education as much as men?

We spend our days reading messages that talk about adoption, and therefore the use of Bitcoin by the masses, without borders, dreaming of our world without excessive regulations, and that there will be no disruptive element to BTC adoption. All that to read messages like this one!  :D Adoption yes, but without women, it will be difficult I guess..

By the way, we must not be that far from global adoption lol -  if even these kinds of ideas can be part of the mindset of some Bitcoiners, it means that we're casting a wide net.  ;D

Keeping women away from education has unfortunately been the case for a long time in France, so they have more time to do the housework I guess ...

The first women to receive a diploma were at the end of the 19th century, and the same baccalauréat for girls and boys was introduced in 1902... (https://www.cairn.info/revue-raison-presente-2017-1-page-117.htm)

And to open a bank account without marital authorization in France: 1965! (and even to sign an employment contract). (https://www.ladiesbank.fr/actualites-banque-finance/lemancipation-financiere-des-femmes-en-france-une-breve-histoire/)

It hasn't been that long, in fact, on the scale of humanity, when there are still men who think that women don't know how to manage (even though they've often been doing it for the family budget for a very long time), or understand bitcoin, I'm only half surprised. It all depends on how values are passed down from generation to generation.

While acknowledging your perspective, gifting Bitcoin or other crypto, especially as wedding favors, really boils down to personal taste and knowledge. The potential of hoarding Bitcoin for the long run is huge, but its rollercoaster nature may not sit well with everyone. You tout it as a solid investment - does it really fit the 'gift' label though?

Giving your better half Bitcoin as a wedding keepsake relies on her crypto savvy and embrace of this elusive asset. Remember, the heart of a wedding present is often more about its sentimental worth than its future monetary gains.

Gifting your wife is fine but before that you should explain to your wife what Bitcoin actually is.If your wife doesn't know or don't know who bitcoin is, gifting her bitcoins won't make sense.Suppose you give a gift to a person and if the person does not know about it, he will not be happy or encouraged.Bro you want to give half of the bitcoin investment to your wife on her wedding day I suggest you explain her about bitcoin first then gift it.

Do you actually have to give a gift to your wife on weddings?
Isn't family and friends the part where gifts are coming from? Instead of just giving here btc pledge it to the future together, like investing to to safe up for a house, children or what not.

Just giving it as a gift looks kind of strange to me, I don't know.

If you have a real plan for it it would make more sense and also look better in my opinion.
