Title: Best NFT marketplaces?
Post by: Abiky on June 29, 2023, 05:20:47 PM
Besides OpenSea and Rarible, do you know of any other NFT marketplaces that are worth exploring? I'm looking for a place where I could find quality NFTs that are worth the long-term investment. ETH-based marketplaces would be fine, as long as there nothing Solana-based. Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Binance has one.

But for other marketplaces for NFTs, there are a lot on this list[1] where you can look at different marketplaces that you like. It includes combination of ethereum, solana and other chains. So, check and see for yourself each of them maybe the one that you're looking for is there.

OpenSea & Binance are great option If you are wan to great list of "NFTs-Asset with at least great value for the Image". Why both of these ? as you know the verification and listed the collection to be verified still hard comparing other NFTs. Other NFT marketplace, want to list as many project they can because is good for both platform (To make a news and spread information of their project). Because of that, the DD are quite low.

I have been using Magic eden, but mostly for SOL based NFTS. Now it also has eth, polygon and bitcoin nft support. Then there's Blur which is definitely worth a look. It's cheap to use and you get blur token airdrops for using it. They most likely aren't worth much, but free tokens are always a nice plus. I used to use Immutable Marketplace and Tokentrove a lot for trading Gods unchained cards, but i am not sure how those are doing these days.

Am more familiar with Opensea.io. it is quite popular alongside Rarible, compared to Binance, and it is the best I have seen so far. I didn't even think Binance would be successful with their NFTs. Now with current SEC issues, I wonder how soon before another better than them with NFT marketplace and good charge comes along.

There's one NFTs market place I remembered stumbling upon sometime back, Roninsea.com.
Although I was adviced it is suspicious, lacks proper information and contact details.

Opensea is still the best but if you wanna find NFTs that have been supporting by exchange site and you can go visit exchange's nft market place. The exchange site like binance, kucoin even okx have been making their own NFT market place.

It's not so hard to find that through search engine. Rarible is not as good as you said as the volume on it is quite small at this moment.

I think that exchange site's NFT marketplace mostly used by so many transfers too. That's why it's good for you to visit that place.

Still OpenSea though, they established the NFT games so most likely everyone is going to their platform. Others say Binance but I haven't explore it that much though. I mean there could be more alternatives out there, but why look for options when we have the best right now?

In any case I read that some exchanges too, like Gate.io has one. But then again, the volume might be too low for you.

I would like to mention Blur, because of its popularity in the NFT market recently, compared to Opensea I appreciate much more than at the present time, the problem is finding an NFT market is not. I think there are a lot of different options that are not specific to any specific audience, like most of them are good with similar features, the difference is the number of users and the transaction volume is not the point. Notably, as the NFT trend cooled down, there wasn't much hype about it.

Aside Opensea and Rarible, these are some that I know:

  • NBA Top Shot
  • Binance
  • Nifty Gateway
  • SuperRare

I read some months ago when Blur NFT marketplace was created that it become the second with the highest trading volume because of low fee. Opensea even reduced their fee at that time if I remember correctly. I do not follow what is going on in NFT marketplace, to know if this has changed or not.

It has been mentioned several times before, but Blur is currently making waves in the industry. They're gaining significant attention due to their airdrop/token rewards program. They also offer a unique NFT marketplace experience, which resembles more of a token exchange, making it more appealing to traders.

Their incentive program is generating substantial volumes right now. However, the long-term sustainability of this approach is unclear. The key question is whether they can generate enough revenue to offset the emissions of their BLUR token and prevent its value from going to zero.

I've totally forgot about Binance. Thanks for bringing that up. The link you've provided has a comprehensive list of NFT marketplaces available across different blockchain networks. I think I've found what I was looking for.

As much as I find Solana to be cheaper and faster than other chains, it's certainly full of issues (mostly network outages). That's the reason why I didn't ask for Solana-based NFT marketplaces in the first place. It's a good thing Magic Eden now supports ETH, and other popular chains. Else, it would've died with Solana already. As long as NFT marketplaces don't censor certain NFTs on-chain, there should be nothing to worry about. ;)

Blur (https://blur.io/) is a newcomer NFT marketplace that has even surpassed Opensea in volume in the last 30 days, so for now the most suitable place for you in my opinion is Blur. Apart from Blur, you can also explore X2Y2 (https://x2y2.io/), LooksRare (https://looksrare.org), SuperRare.co (https://superrare.com) and Element (https://element.market/). For a complete list, you can look for it on DappRadar (https://dappradar.com/rankings/nft/marketplaces/chain/ethereum), the link I embedded will show you the NFT Marketplace which also supports the Ethereum network.

Blur is new but going up in volume, I think it's became popular with the chance of an airdrop so I think the volume is being manipulated so take caution on how you will interact with them. I'm not that an expert especially when it comes to long term investment's but I think it's worth a shot for Blur to be the best when it comes to nft trading.

You can take a look at HOVR (https://hovr.site/) NFT market place backed by QI blockchain. It is an emerging NFT platform with real NFT use cases and low transaction fee. The blockchain relies on Proof of Work consensus mechanism and supports Web 3.0. I think HOVR is a unique NFT market worth exploring.

Manipulated or not, it's better to be safe by doing your research first,
the price of Blur had dropped and now it is gradually increasing,
that seems like a good suggestion.

If you're interested in Bitcoin NFTs (Counterparty tokens -- which are pretty solid and likely to outlast the Ordinals craze), I recommend checking out their DEX & dispensers:

https://xchain.io/

Same thing with Dogeparty, there's a lot of sleepers (like Rare Doges) out there that have a good chance of commanding more value for collectors in years to come:

https://dogeparty.xchain.io/

This is a site that specifically tracks Rare Pepe sales on both Counterparty and OpenSea:

https://pepe.wtf/

As far as long-term investments go, I think Rare Pepes & other early Counterparty tokens (from 2014-2017) are the best bet and outline why in this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406123.0).

Finally, I also really like Monaparty tokens as they have a vibrant community of artists, plus they are dirt cheap:

Aside from OpenSea and Rarible you can also check out Nifty Gateway because it is a user-friendly platform that allows artists to create and sell their limited edition NFT's. It is popular choice among collectors, the platform also hosts drops from well known artists and brands. Another one is AtomicMarket a marketplace that allows users to buy and sell NFT's accross multiple blockchains and it offers less fees and user friendly userface. There are many marketplaces to choose from, each with its own unique features and benefits. You can research and study if it is a good platform or not.

The OP is looking for decent NFTs to hold for long term investment, can we trust NFT Marketplace which is backed by blockchain projects that the public rarely even knows about? Maybe OP will suffer a loss if he buys NFTs there later :D. I know we're talking about marketplace here, but I can't believe this (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/qi-blockchain/) (rank 3,800+).

For now, it is between OpenSea and Blur, the liquidity on Blur is very deep for some NFTs, I have not checked Binance NFT marketplace and check how deep the liquidity is, but you can look into that. LookRare is another one to consider but it seems it has lost its appeal after the liquidity mining ended. I still feel the NFT market has a long way to go in term of market and liquidity because most of the trading volume for now are just for liquidity mining, I will like to see what happens to Blur after they stop the token incentives.

Binance is the next best option when it comes to NFTs and this can also allows you to enjoy some feature if you will invest with NFTs with them. The hype of NFTs might be gone for now but I’m sure their future is still bright and investing with them can also be a good idea, why consider other site if you already have the best one? Anyway Rollbit also have a market place if you are into gambling, this can benefit you as well.

The largest volume of NFT markets belongs to exchanges, Binance is already the leading market volume. We can say that they made many promotions and deals, including famous names, and steered the NFT market. One of the NFT markets that I use EnjinX is now activated in NFT.io in beta version. I've been following various NFTs here. Usually the Assets in the game.

opensea is the first one and it is verybpopulaar that many people will always look ffor the NFTs there. Beside iy, well as other people say here is the Binance. But it is not as completed as OpenSea. It may be so many platforms but they are not really recommended because don't have high reputation.

Apart from OpenSea and Rarible, there are several other notable NFT marketplaces worth exploring. Some popular ones include SuperRare, Foundation, KnownOrigin, and NBA Top Shot. These platforms offer a variety of quality NFTs and can be considered for long-term investment opportunities. While they primarily operate on the Ethereum blockchain, it's always a good idea to research and evaluate each marketplace's offerings, fees, and community before making any investment decisions. Happy exploring!

In my opinion, the best NFT marketplaces are OpenSea, Element and Tofu, because I have tried to buy NFT on that marketplace and indeed I think the NFT marketplace is very comfortable to use, safe and fast, therefore I choose and recommend you the best NFT marketplace is OpenSea, Element and Tofu, although for now I'm not interested to investing in NFT anymore, because I think the risk is very high for me to lose my money.

Honestly nothing better than Opensea. Why are you trying to find another alternative? Maybe the fees at Opensea are a little expensive but it's worth it for the security and facilities they offer.
Until now I know NFTs from Opensea and I never thought about looking for another NFTs market.

But it's fine if you want to experiment. Because markets that are not yet popular usually have quite attractive offers  ;D

I just hope Blur doesn't censor NFTs like OpenSea did in the past (according to what I've read online). It would totally defeat the purpose of Web 3.0. While it may still be possible to interact with NFTs directly on the Blockchain, marketplaces serve as a front-end interface for easier management of your digital collectibles. So if a marketplace censors NFTs, most people will believe it's "the end of the world". After all, not everyone is tech-savvy enough to interact with smart contracts directly on-chain.

Between Blur and OpenSea, I think the former is a much better choice to buy and sell NFTs. No matter the marketplace of your choosing, it's hard to find an NFT that will become a big hit in the long run. You simply can't predict if what you're buying will become valuable in the future. First it was CryptoKitties, then CryptoPunks, and now Bored Ape Yacht Club. I wonder which other NFTs will become popular next? :D

I often use nft for gaming purposes, so the two nft marketplaces that I use often are Open Sea and Tofunft. Opensea is no longer debatable; it is too famous and has a variety of NFT in this market. But in fact, the fee is quite high, so I don't use it to trade with low-value NFT. Instead, I use Tofunft because of its low cost and support for many network bananas. In addition, one thing I really like here is that in most of the games, when they are not completed on the marketplace, the items are often sold on Tofunft.

If we are talking about decentralized marketplaces, then of course we should pay attention to Magic Eden and Blur. In my opinion, these are the top NFT marketplaces right now. Magic Eden, mainly focuses on Solana blockchain, and Solana blockchain just recently surpassed Ethereum blockchain in terms of trading volumes on the NFT marketplace. These are the marketplaces I recommend paying attention to.

NFT should not be considered as a long-term investment, so it is better to refrain from such purchases, almost all NFT in the long run do not grow in price, but decline, pay attention to this sad statistic.

Agree. NFTs are a passing fad, meant to enrich those who get early into the game. While there are plenty of marketplaces available, there's no guarantee the trend will last forever.

I've noticed most (if not all) NFT marketplaces rely on centralized infrastructure. In other words, they're hosted on centralized servers using centralized TLDs. It's easy enough for governments to take them down at will. So much for Web 3.0's promise to make the Internet decentralized. Things are just getting started in the NFTs space, so I'm hoping things will improve in the long run. :)

I have tried both, Opensea and Rarible. Experience on Rarible was horseshit, I was trying to sell some nft, it didn't get sold, gave couple tries because everything looked proper, it still didn't, wasted good amount of gas money (back then ethereum was at around 4k afaik). Tried contacting customer support, after month and up they replied that too no proper follow up and asking me to send email again.

Since then I have been only using Opensea and it's been serving me well.

Just don't forget that projects that were in the early stages of the industry don't mean that they will grow with the industry and develop as well. The altcoin industry is a good example of what I am saying. If you look at how young the industry was in 2013 and what projects were leaders there, when you look at the current altcoin industry, you can conclude that those early altcoins are almost all dead and now completely different coins are the leaders. The same will happen to NFT. So don't have illusions that if NFT industry will continue its way of development, then your pictures will be valued as well.

Although binance is the largest Exchange, binance's NFT market is not as crowded as Opensea's. In fact, I only use Opensea to buy and sell NFTs and support with many new chains.
Opensea is indeed the first and even Opensea users are benefited by various Airdrops that use Opensea transactions as eligible address requirements.
So Opensea is the best NFT market right now.

Depending on customer support to solve our problems, would make us depend on a middleman. Isn't that what crypto/Blockchain tech stands against? Let's face it, there are no NFT marketplaces that are truly decentralized. They're all hosted on centralized servers using centralized TLDs. Both OpenSea and Blur are good, but they're still centralized.

I've used Rarible once, but switched to SuperRare after I saw some interesting NFTs there. Wouldn't it be cool to have an NFT marketplace built on IPFS using an ENS domain? That would make it truly decentralized and censorship-resistant. While it's possible to interact with NFTs directly through smart contracts, not everyone has the knowledge to do it. You'd have to be tech-savvy enough to buy/sell NFTs without a marketplace. At least, we have plenty of options to choose from. Who knows if things will improve in the long run?

Well, where else was I supposed to go? Yes, these marketplaces run on smart contracts but there is UI/UX part which can be improved by hearing user input.

Also, you might want to check out SudoSwap (https://sudoswap.xyz/), like uniswap but for nfts. Here is good article regarding same [1].

It's not like you've had any other choice. This industry is still in its infancy, so we should expect some level of centralization in the short-term. Long-term speaking, it's likely decentralization will become the dominant force in the crypto/Blockchain industry. That's a big IF, because things are pointing in the wrong direction. Centralization might increase if Wall Street continues to take part in the industry. The NFT hype isn't over yet, so the best is yet to come.

Among all the marketplaces available, I think OpenSea and Blur are the best ones yet. Magic Eden is growing to become the third one on the list. I've yet to try SudoSwap for trustless swapping of NFTs. Thanks for sharing, btw. With all the buzz surrounding NFTs, I wonder which NFT will become the next big thing?
