Title: Getting started : Guide me
Post by: cryptobro777 on July 22, 2023, 12:12:30 PM
I have recently joined the exciting field of cryptocurrencies and heard about this forum as a perfect launchpad to start my journey.
Honestly as a beginner, I'm eager to participate in bounty campaigns and explore various free earning opportunities.
After roaming around in this forum, now I am little bit confused where to start.
So here I invite all experience members to give your valuable thoughts and guidance for me.  :)

Welcome to Bitcointalk forum, there are actually enough things to learn in the forum which I am sure will be interacting to you as a beginner.

Going through your posting history, I saw that almost all of your comments were off topic, and now you're writing a piece expressing your interest in bounty only to get free tokens that are basically worthless.

I will advice you to go through Newbies Read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0) in order to get some basic insight on how to participate properly in this forum.

Moreover, focus on learning and leave anything aside for now so that you will have the basic knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

Welcome to bitcointalk.

Whatever you might have heard or read about this forum is correct, if you're her to get knowledge or get started with crypto then you're at the right place.
And I'll be quoting my recent post just so I won't be repeating myself.

To learn about Bitcoin technical aspect I recommend this material.
https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook#chapters

When dealing with Bitcoin you'll realize how important privacy and security is, so I'd recommend the following links to help you learn more about them.
https://www.lopp.net/bitcoin-information/security.html

You can still use this site to learn more about Bitcoin.
https://coindesk.com/learn
https://learnmeabitcoin.com/

Another material that I have used in the past most especially when I was new to the forum was: Beginners & Help Encyclopedia (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364418.0)
It's has some materials already arranged for you, it's not only for Bitcoin though.

For bounty check the  bounty section  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0) I don't know about now, but I don't think the bounty section are still given any huge reward to members for there are lot of projects who are out their but not with genuine intention as they always pay little to nothing to participants.

I will advice you to focus on building your self with general crypto knowledge so that you can learn how it works, how the trading section and every other part which could be beneficial to you. the forum is broad and you can learn lot of things aside the bounty earning.

Don't be hasty about those opportunities you are thinking in your mind. If you're all for the bounties, we've got a dedicated section on it and it's on the Bounties (Altcoins). (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0)

But before that, learn more about the forum including the forum rules which is included on the link that's given to you. It's more than the bounties that you'll learn here so don't rush into those bounties for which many of them are likely scams.

because your rank is still a Newbie. you can only participate in social media campaigns and maybe other campaigns besides signature. even some managers have a minimum of activity for members with the rank of Newbie. I hope you understand this, but if you are really interested then you can visit the Bounty board.

but my advice is not to focus too much on Bounty or Airdrop campaigns. it will waste your time and most of it really doesn't pay you well.

I have recently joined the exciting field of cryptocurrencies and heard about this forum as a perfect launchpad to start my journey.
Honestly as a beginner, I'm eager to participate in bounty campaigns and explore various free earning opportunities.
I thank you for your honesty, but the free methods usually require repetitive, boring, very low-return work with long periods of sitting. Instead, use your time to learn freelancers skills or develop your skills to create high-quality posts and earn an average of $200 per month from signature campaigns after about 6 months.

Start with YouTube channels and read some books, try to learn new information daily and ask about it here.
you can earn from some paid Bitcointalk Games topics or for review services.

Atleast start from somewhere, but I will not support you to start with bounties, you need to learn about bitcoin, try to understand how the forum operates, get used to the forum's rules and regulations, read more and learn more to have something good to offer to others, i don't want you to see this place as a money making opportunity or avenue to quickly arrived in life, what can get you noticed and have early arrival is what you've learnt so far from here, which means you will do much of reading, learning than postings and hunting after bounties for now.

Helpful threads.

I don't know how determined you are to learn about crypto currency, but if you have the time to learn, I will suggest you visit most of the links shared by Cantsay, as they will be very helpful to you in your crypto journey.

As for bounty, there are links dropped here for you to follow down to the bounty section, but if you take bounty as your full-time job, it might not give you the kind of earning you need, for the era where airdrops usually benefit members with huge rewards is far gone. But you can give it a try and see if it will work for you. If not, I could have personally advised you to learn more about how the system works, wallet security, privacy, and all the rest so that you can be a holder with so much knowledge about Bitcoin and crypto in general and not just some newbies who can easily be persuaded over something they have knowledge about.

I support your suggestion more to the OP. as he was previously only active on the Off-Topic boards with a few of his posts. if OP is interested in a bounty campaign I'm afraid he will be trapped there by only working on social media bounty reports that fill his post history.
You will also see accounts with registrations several years ago whose entire post history is a report of bounty campaigns. I'm afraid it will also happen to him.

come on Op, you can do better in this forum. if you are interested in the bounty campaign, no one will blame you. but at least learn what is important for you to have.

Bounty campaigns is not worthy to join anymore because most of them is scam. Signature campaign and Job offer on the services section is the only way now to earn profit here.

If you want to start earning, Try to familiarize the forum by reading the rules https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0. Then contribute in the forum to rank up your account by engaging to other user by constructive post. All the earning part will be follow once you are an established member here because you can't participate in the signature campaigns or offer a service here if you are complete newbie.

If you say yourself new here, you should not be too early to think about campaigns or earnings, there are many things you should learn first here before you start all that.

Forums have rules that you have to learn, campaigns also have rules that you have to know, for that before you understand all of that, you should first learn how crypto/Bitcoin works, we are not here as directly as you mean, we need to study a lot here 1-2 years to get to know everything, whereas you registered today directly asking for money and campaigns, I think you are in a hurry for that.

Everything needs a process, it's not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, understand everything that's here first, the terms and conditions that pass.

Welcome to the forum.
Don't think too far, friend, if your motivation is to immediately join the Bitcoin Paid Signature Campaign or the new Altcoin Bounty Campaign, you will be disappointed if your goals are not achieved or difficult to achieve. Now what you need to do is understand all the rules that are allowed on the forum and all the rules that are prohibited, as a newcomer to the forum you need to learn more to gain knowledge that can make it easier for you to adapt to more senior members.
Confused you feel now because you have not adapted well in the forum, take the time to read the topics that can lead you in a better direction.

It doesn't look like you will do very well on this forum OP, I look through your post history and it is not looking average, not even close to average poster, you need to improve on your posting on this forum, what you've did so far is what every shit posters have done, be more creative with posts and also engage in discussions more.

There are many things a newbie must be lacking in crypto space, are you not curious to know more about some things? Or maybe you are a shit poster because if your aim? A bounty hunter that earns money through a signature campaign? If this is your goal you will keep messing up.

Be willing to learn first, this is what will improve your knowledge on the forum and maybe you can then later consider signature campaigns.

Common advice: "there is no free lunch", meaning you have to have something like a skill to stand a chance. There are more worthy "jobs" to do than bounty campaigns, with the chance of being paid higher. You should check the following sections:

Services (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0): You can enter contests and review campaigns, or you can offer your own services.
Games and rounds (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=71.0): There is free (limited) draws/raffles with simple tasks there.

But I agree with all the opinions above, with your status as a beginner it's better to get a lot of crypto knowledge first than to jump into looking for free income. Don't forget to stick to the forum rules or you will be eliminated.

Honestly as a beginner, I'm eager to participate in bounty campaigns and explore various free earning opportunities.

Bounty campaigns is not worthy to join anymore because most of them is scam. Signature campaign and Job offer on the services section is the only way now to earn profit here.

As a starter, @OP can join bounty campaigns since his rank is not qualified to join signature campaigns.  It is a good first hand experience, IMO.  While learning the left and right of cryptocurrency, he can start his journey to earn on bounty campaigns, there are bounty campaigns that pay but the worth of payment is unknown since it can be worthless or huge amount depending on the success of the project.  Although some of these bounty campaigns failed to pay their participants, the risk can minimize by joining reputable campaign manager that also manage signature campaign.

You cannot start earning by familiarizing only, one needs to join a campaign.  And with the rank of @OP, I believe it will take him months before he can join the signature campaign we are mentioning.  So I think it won't do any harm to join a county campaign specifically social media campaigns while learning the curves of cryptocurrency and this forum.

Hi, finally a genuine beginner I would like to make this forum a better place for. I am sick of new accounts creating random posts, coming back to the topic, I would share one very simple rule with you is that to reply more instead of creating new topics. Only create a topic if you are sharing something exclusive, unique. Duplicates won't be appreciated by anyone.

To grow your account, you need merits. To get merits, you need to help others in the community and be yourself.
And make sure to follow the rules.

Right now I can see that why you are here is because of earning and that is why you want to go into bounty to start earning money, but it would have being good to learn of Bitcoin first so that you can communicate in the forum and if you persistent to go to bounty's because of earning your account will be adamant in growth

i appreciate your step to ask instead of you to do something but it turns out to be wrong.
actually it doesn't matter if you are not ready to post something if you are not very knowledgeable about cryptocurrency topics.
my advice before you go any further you should read this sticky thread Newbies - Read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0)
in my opinion, this thread is enough for you to start understanding how this forum works and guide your steps in this forum.

don't waste your time thinking only about bounty campaigns. this forum has a lot of knowledge and information that is important to know.
learn first to increase knowledge, develop yourself and your account. then if you already understand and meet the "criteria" you can take part in a signature campaign to get paid.
my suggestion is that from now on you can increase your knowledge about cryptocurrencies by reading articles that have been provided by other members or reading online articles or other references. apart from that you can read the threads on some of the main discussion boards and try to join the discussions actively and constructively to increase your knowledge and grow your account.

There are alot of opportunities for you to make money. You asked about bounties. Yeah you can definely join them and could make decent amount of money but according to my 1.5 years of experience. I suggest never expect and depend on bounties earning too much because sometimes, a project seems legit could scam you or vice versa. So be independent for earning through such sources.

But some projects will give you unexpected rewards too. But some will make you feel hopeless. Other than Bounties section you can visit service section where many managers share there signature campaigns and review campaigns and currently a new review campaign is going on by royse777 in which you could make 90$ if you are eligible.

But many bounties, signature, review campaigns need some requirements like your rank and activities. Plus your contribution to this platform. So before joining signature and review campaign you should work on your profile but a word of advice.

If you will seek money then you might not find it here, because in greed many people lost even what was their own. So, be legit, and try to share your discussions and views with others and try not to just make your profile grow for making money only, Because this platform is not money making platform instead a discussion platform where BTC and ALTs are growing or being born.

Welcome to the forum mate. To start, first thing you should do is to learn as much as possible and ask here in the forum if yoi have something that you can't quite understand well or having trouble understanding the topic. Feel free to do it anytime you want because many forum members understand your situation of being a newbie and doesn't have lots of knowledge because we also start from being a newbie until we achieved what we have right now and what we learned. You can read any topic in this thread. This is the thread Beginners & Help Encyclopedia (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364418.0).

Welcome to this forum. I agree with you about this forum as it's the perfect place to start your Crypto journey with learning and earning. As a beginner you should look at the forum rules before you start. Because breaking rules will cause you ban and negative trusted. Here are some to read:

  • Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0)
  • Newbies - Read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0)

You said that you are eager to join Bounties or any free earning opportunities and that's a very popular way to earn from here. All of you need to do that just read the forum rules and real the rules of every bounty campaigns. You may see various rules or instructions for every campaigns. So just follow them to get the highest stakes and payment.
You should also avoid some unnecessary campaigns or focus on potential campaigns to get the best output from Bounties. Because every campaigns won't pay you or may not be worthy. It will be better if you participate in escrowed campaigns.

There are other ways for free earning opportunities from Games and Rounds board. You can check also but you may have a minimum requirements to join them. Beside these you can provide your services or skills.

Firstly, I’ll like to say welcome to the forum and hope you get to stay around longer than most.

Surely, you ought to have been pre-oriented before you joined up from what I gather in the OP and I would say, there are opportunities here for sure but, non is free. In fact, running any form of free reward systems here can get you temporal ban as participant and organizer. This is because, it could lead to abuse and spam on the forum and this is the last thing we want.
Hence, you might want to not cloud your head with all that. Even in the dig campaigns on here, the posts you make is a good enough work of publicity, representation and reputation.

Haven’t said all that, I would encourage you to start where you can. There isn’t any specifics to this but, you do your bit to understanding the knowledge at your disposal and not ignore what is set before you. They all merge to form the much you would know later and aid you through your crypto journey.

Is there no other better things you can do as a beginner than to join a bounty campaign?
Where you directly taught on how to do bounty without them telling you how to make use of this forum. One thing you must know about bounty is that it's time consuming and doesn't allowed you to focused and learn other things because you are always on target to meet up weekly activities with your reports and the rest.
First I will advised you not to put any effort in doing bounty's although they are paying but aren't guaranteed way of earning through the forum.

You heard Bitcointalk forum from another platform through a friend and the person told you about bounty campaigns , well everyone join this forum with different thought and I believed that was the way you were told to join the forum. You have to do what you understand most in the forum but bounty campaign will not help instead learn things in the main boards and do well here. Though I have not done anything at the bounty parr in the forum, I only visit to see their activities and come back.

You yourself: what do you want? You don't want to rank up? Or perhaps you just want to remain a newbie while you're in the forum? You are yet a newbie too, just like OP, and at this early stage, my suggestion is that you just have to not cause some drama for yourself. Apart from bounties, he was not really specific about any other way of earning money. The OP did not just come to this forum by chance; if you re-read his post, you will understand that he mentioned hearing about the forum maybe from some, and perhaps they might have told him that he can earn through bounty on the forum. I don't see anything bad here.

Welcome to the forum, other members have given you helpful links and advice that will guide you in your bitcointalk journey. I commend your enthusiasm and your willingness to work hard but bounties are usually a waste of time, most of the bounties are scams and they don’t pay the bounty hunters who work for them. I suggest you channel that time and energy towards learning something new about bitcoin.

I noticed that the OP mentioned “free earning opportunities”, and I want to correct that statement. It’s not free if you’re working to earn it. There is no free lunch in bitcoin or anywhere else.

You don't have to be confused since you know why you joined this forum. You joined to earn, simply follow the links given you above by different users and you will earn rewards for your efforts in bounty section.

But as time goes, I believe you will understand the need to learn more about bitcoin and cryptocurrency and you will be eager to learn. If I were to advice, I will tell you to forget about bounty earnings for now and learn about bitcoin. After learning, in due time you shall start earning.

It is obvious that you have been in this forum before or have had experience one way or the other. You roamed around the forum in just two hours, and you already know a lot about bounties and the other earning opportunities. All I see is someone who wants to rank up and Goodluck with that.

The person who introduced him to the forum might have already told him about bounties and other earning opportunities, could be the reason he already know about them. Let him get the answers to his questions to avoid being misled in the forum.

I never knew there was some kind of security code for where and when newbies could be at any particular time. Well, most times I don't actually allow myself to think negatively about people's first appearances since there are a lot of possibilities in which one can learn something in the background before they even create an account because they have been in the background for so long.

Bounties don't help people rank up, as the only thing you could gain from them is activities, and activities alone can't rank you up to the next rank. The OP will need more than participating in bounties in order to rank up, if we are to view it from your own perspective.

The person who introduced him to the forum might have already told him about bounties and other earning opportunities, could be the reason he already know about them. Let him get the answers to his questions to avoid being misled in the forum.

Exactly another possible way of viewing it is from the positive aspect, as most people are being introduced to this forum with the information that the bounty section is the surefire way to earn from this forum.

Since you start the question here, just start from here and there is no need to go to bounty and start hunting bounty campaigns over there. Bounty campaign hunting will not make you grow and you be stagnant in one place, so I advise you to stay in the this main forum and develop yourself from here. Take this your eagerness to contribute here. Don't be confused, everything is simple to learn, just follow the rules and read more. Read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 and obey. As a beginner don't start your journey in the bounty campaigns but start with the learning process here in the forum.

As a beginner, I felt little complicated in posting in other sections such as bitcoin, altcoin discussion, etc. That's why I went towards off-topic section. I also found some threads about bounty campaign and airdrop related posts. Then thought I can participate those tasks. Thus I start a thread to ask where should I start.
But now I feel, I do something wrong here.
I will definitely go through the mentioned post to gather details for future postings.

OP, you're lucky already in what you asked, and you've been given a lot of good advice. I would like to hope that you will believe all of us and will not give up, realizing that it is not worth spending time on bounty campaigns, but it is better to spend time reading and understanding the topics.
I understand that many here need additional income, but do not waste your time on trifles. Bounty has not been productive for several years. Better read, understand, ask questions, and rise in rank. After a while, you will see that all the people who discouraged you from participating in the bounty were right.

Hi, finally a genuine beginner I would like to make this forum a better place for. I am sick of new accounts creating random posts,

This is exactly what I also felt—for the first time, a person does not ask for merit. It is a rarity.

Start on the forum starting learning about cryptocurrency what you can do is start posting here in the forum, your going to learn a lot with just doing that. You don't need to start your own topic yet you could try to main discussion or comments on so many topics here around cryptocurrency, also start saving money so that you will have funds to invest soon. If you think that you already have the knowledge needed and already know what you're doing, plus you already have the money to invest in cryptocurrency that's the time you could start your investment journey already.

Plus you already post a lot in the forum probably when that time comes, if you have a lot of quality posts you're probably rank up as well and you're going to be able to campaign in the forum as well which could give you income as well, I mean the forum is not a big competition so there was no pressure if you didn't rank up but what is important is the knowledge and information, experiences of other members are one of the best things that you could use to make your journey easier.

Most of the high-ranking members started just like you. The price for growth in this forum is learning. It might be difficult to understand some terms in the forum at first, but if you keep reading, you will get used to them. And as you learn your contribution to the forum will improve and your account will also grow. It is not also compulsory that you should reply in any thread. If you have nothing to contribute, it is better to just read and leave. Read more and post less for now until you are well-informed. The use of ChatGPT and other AI tools to make posts is prohibited in the forum. Let your posts be original but when you get information from other sources, ensure it is well-referenced. You are welcome.

Welcome to the forum. Bitcointalk is indeed a great place to kickoff your crypto journey. I like the fact that you are sincere in your post but if you read through every individual comments, you would discover that they are all heading towards one direction and that's stay away from bounties. Two heads they say are better than one, but in this case multiple heads are better than one. Take the time you would have used in promoting those shitty projects to gain more knowledge and develop yourself. There are lots of freelancing jobs you can take up online and get paid, you can work as a blogger, proofreader, customer care, dropshipper, social media manager etc.

Chill, there's alot to learn first!!
Even if you wanna go about running on bounties to get paid, you're not gonna start off like this ... You need to undergo a growing process which isn't achieved without learning deep.
Secondly, bounties ain't really paying off not unless you wanna earn peanuts or some scruples - devalued shitcoins. Been like you a long time ago buh today makes it a different story; Learn to earn.

As a beginner, I felt little complicated in posting in other sections such as bitcoin, altcoin discussion, etc. That's why I went towards off-topic section. No you didn't do something wrong you only choose a path and followed without knowing it's not the right path to start with, and that's because you didn't ask the questions you are asking now. It a good thing you've retraced your steps.
Some of us had no idea of how the forum operates when we first got registered but we kept on putting up further questions about complicated challenges we facing in the forum, answers were given that enlightened our path to every board in the forum. I believe same will be said of you if you're willing to learn too.

That which I put in italics is often the problem with new members. After a while of excitement, the zeal dies off and many of them just abandon their accounts. I think they do this when they've that mindset of hitting it big once they register on this forum. They post for a few weeks and if they don't receive encouragement in form of merits, they bolt away. These ones don't really understand why Rome wasn't built in a single day. I'm encouraging OP to persevere and be constructive in their posts. They will enjoy being here at the end of the day.

Well, there are many options if you are looking for multiple bounty campaigns, the easiest and most visited are like @sunsilk says that is on the Bounties (Altcoins). If your choice, for example, likes to write, all you have to do is submit a registration in article campaign by making a POA, Btw. For content that makes you relevant, don't forget to read the contents of the project whitepaper that you are following, then you write and send your task to the Google form that has been prepared. But, if you want to enter another campaign for the same project, for example the previous signature campaign, read the rules first because there are special provisions regarding forum rank limits, if I'm not mistaken, the minimum is members and for newbies you can't.

You are highly welcome to bitcointalk. A forum with lots of experts on cryptocurrency. As a newbie I will advice you not to make bounty your priority of joining this forum. Bounty can only earn you little money. And with bounty, after you have done some campaign without being paid, you may get tired of the forum and decide to leave the forum. Let learning and developing yourself about cryptocurrency be your priority in the forum and you will thank me later. You may do this alongside with bounty. But don't be carried away by the peanut given through it. We have some people in the forum that never partake in bounty even when they are newbies but are now making money from cryptocurrency through the knowledge they have acquired from the forum. Start learning and developing yourself today, no one knows, you may be the next guru in the forum in months to come.

Whenever you come across something that you so not have a concrete idea about, ask questions so that the you can be given advise that will guide you through out your journey as a member of this great community and as a crypto investor.

if I'm not mistaken, the minimum is members and for newbies you can't.

This really depends on the project you are joining. That is why it's good to read the instructions for each project before joining just as you have said earlier. Some projects do allow you to join their signature campaign as a junior member. I can see you got 2 merit already, work on your activity to become a junior member. With that you can now take part in some signature campaign. But always read the instructions as a guide for any campaign.

You're in the  right place but don't be so eager so as not  to go fall victim of scam or make unnecessary losses you never bargained for.
Well I see you're here to earn and I will advice that you rather be patient and grow your account to atleast a full member rank and participate in signature campaigns rather than joining bounty campaigns and this is because I feel it is more stressful doing bounties as compared to signatures.
There are other of opportunities in the forum and if you're patient and work hard to earn some good rank and reputation, then you will get some good opportunities you wouldn't even imagine.

since have being on the forum here, i haven't seen any weekly bitcoin signature that accept junior member rank, the minimum rank i have seen is member rank which is also very scarce, just as you said the signature campaign which you can participate in as a junior member is bounty signature campaign which is as useless as bounty campaign, so if you really want to participate in bitcoin paying signature campaigns, you have to put down your head, read and learn from the forum and you will be able to rank up your account to at least full member rank so that you will have higher chances of being accepted in signature campaign, but if you are waiting for any manager to launch a campaign which will accept member rank, then you will have to stay long, and am not even expecting any manager to launch a weekly paying bitcoin signature campaign that will accept junior member.

At first this forum will be very confusing and difficult to understand for a newbie, but after spending a lot of time here reading some of the important topics that have been pinned on the different boards, you will slowly understand the purpose of the forum. As a first step to start your journey in the forum, it is necessary to increase your knowledge and insight to make it easier for you to increase your account ranking.

Don't think too much about wanting to join the Signature Campaign, your first task here is to increase knowledge in order to produce quality posts to bring merit. Start focusing on how to upgrade your account so you can join the Signature Campaign to earn free Bitcoins.

It is very difficult to embrace the immensity, but nevertheless you must have clear questions that you will certainly get an answer to. Otherwise, you will receive recommendations that you will not be able to use, since your level of knowledge about cryptocurrency will not match them.

Also observe post and threads made by older and experienced members. Cause most beginners just try to immediately start discussions, make posts about topics they don't have sufficient knowledge of. So I hope you'll enjoy the forum .
