Post by: Donneski on August 02, 2023, 10:03:24 AM
As I entered this forum I see say here na better platform to learn about Bitcoin. As I enter I come see many people from different different countries of the world but plenty of the people I saw na Oyibo but luckily for me I come still see my country people with a thread that's exclusive to them alone and that one come sweet my belle well well.

So my "I wan know how e started" spirit come up with the question of who is the first person wey identify himself as our country person to join BitcoinTalk

The first Nigerian wey join bitcointalk dey different from the first Nigerian wey identity himself as a Nigerian for the forum.
I believe your question na the first Nigerian wey identity as a Nigerian in the forum.
Normally, here na privacy forum, e fit be say many Nigerians don join this forum far back when dem create am but dem no talk say dem be Nigerians.
Although, I never tey for the forum but when I join and the standing order that time be like say na CryptopreneurBrainboss be the first person wey officially identity as a Nigerian. I join this board when e be thread and na him be also create the thread.

Make I for hear other people's view. Op, you try shaa for your curiosity.

How do we know the specifics user that first join the forum when there's no record of the first naija community member to join the forum, just as you've been told by uchegod, we have many Nigerians here and it's only those who deemed fit to identify themselves here are the ones we recognized, but believe me there are many of them on the forum yet to come up to the naija local board than English discussion board only, knowing the first person to join the forum is not what matters like those standing together with the naija local board community.

If eh possible eh for really better say we get comprehensive list of people way don join the forum for this our local board tey tey, me I believe say we plenty for background as 9ja no they too like carry last, make eh no surprise u say some 9ja people dey among people way 1st start to use the forum as eh early start, but eh go either be say dre account dem don they banned or dem just dy the background pretend like say dem no 4rm here, 4 dre own personal reason as I they see many people 4 d forum wen dem wan discribe where dem 4rm dem fit just say Africa. No body know who be who, so diz ur list go hard.

This user's account is banned, with a few red tags. Being banned makes the account inactive, which I think does not make it fit in for the list again. Since getting the entire list of Nigerians who are here in the forum will be difficult, let the little old members whom you have chosen be those who are still active on the forum[/list]

Menh! I doubted dat Leo until I checked and saw he even get post for local sef. I nor go surprise sey e get persin wey enta before him sef dat year wey forum open and still dey post here codedly.

I give it to Brainboss. D guy try to arrange dat owa hangout thread, I nor go lie una. I know how reluctant I was wen im approached me on dat issue. Maybe im go don forget how dat matta take be dat time now. I wanted to just do my stuff without any ish then. Even owa late brother Becky666 follow ginger for the thread then. May God rest his soul.

We nor go too blame those wey no identify with us because e get as here be dat time wen I enta. Una sabi dat kain prejudice thing once outsiders identify you as Naija persin na. Nor be everybodi go fit risk to face mob action like dat wen you dey minority. All man wan protect wetin dey put food for dem mouth, I understand dat part.

I still dey see members wey I know sey dem be Nigerians but dem neva show face for local board unto sey dem wan keep actin foreigner. Some na their usernames dey give dem out while some na their writing pattern. Una sabi sey e get as a typical Naija persin dey take coin words of write English ba, are you understanding me 😆

Those of una wey enta here afta we get hangout thread, una dey lucky honestly. I know d joy wey e give me d first time I discovered one Naija dude through im username. I think Olubams be d user. Na so I rush d dude inbox. We chatted very well, even off forum for sometime. Na dat merit thing wey forum introduced make d dude slack. He come stop posting as soon as im marry. I tried to encourage him to come back but e nor work.

Shoutout to a man like Brainboss!

This is a nice thread, as Mpamaegbu said, Brainboss has done well for the development of the local board, when I came I saw threads in Meta Boards by Nigerians asking to create local board for them and I also join them to fire up the thread. My man Adbitco, I don't know that you a hold cago, I drop salama for you. I appreciate those who set the pace for us to come and enjoy forum. What happened in the forum (historically) is just.like what happened in Nigerian in the colonial period. Op you tried for bringing this topic, these are the things we need to discuss and not all those...

This forum large oo, me self doubt because e get plenty people wey no want showcase themselve as 9ja people because of how them they see say them carry we 9ja dey, so them wan hide themself from we board and work secretly make people no noticed them. but anyhow e be we still keep pushing without having to look at how far is the road rather we can only look how close we are to getting the right points.

Nice thread op and welcome to the forum. Brainboss and odas wey fight for us to get our local board be like John de baptist for bible wey paved di way for di coming of Jesus Christ. Many things wey we dey enjoy for here we get dem to thank for. Di forum no be today and naija no dey carry last, so I wan believe say even 2009 & 2010 some of our brothers and sis go don create account for here. And just as some posters don yan, e get some persons wey no want identity themselves for di local board because of one reason or di oda. Also as Mpamaegbu talk e get some username wey you go come across or de way de person dey write u go just know say dis one na naija and I don come some of dem like dat.

Weldon brother for the comprehensive list.

Just as others have said, we can not know exactly who was the first Nija person to register in this forum, because so many people they wey be Nija people and decided to stay on a low for some reasons known to them alone, so any list wey we see na just based on prople wey show themselves sat them from Nija.

Apart from who first join e get people wey stand firm to make this board active and unite us for this end, na them try pass because na because of them we see board wey we fit even they discus one or two things.
Na only God fit reward them because them really try; I no need mention name because we all know them, I just wish all of us the best of luck.

Thank you for your comprehensive compilation of the names beloved country man. Though there might be other countrymen wey join the Bitcoin Talk before them or within the time the above listed people joined but couldn't identify themselves as our country people.

That being said, the ones you listed above I think deserves to be celebrated, respected and should be given special treatments in the forum because even though Oyibo people doesn't encourage such things in the forum, we as country people knows where we come from and why it is one of our known moral values to give honour to whom honour is due. These people paid so much sacrifices in the forum by working hard to make the forum a good platform for us all to come and learn about Bitcoin which is world's most prestigious crypto currency.

Hopefully, more of our country people who are pioneers of this forum identifies with the Naija thread for us to know them.

Special appreciation to our own Naija bBitcoin Chief for this BitcoinTalk Forum wey we all know by the name Brainboss. I don hear many many good things and sacrifices wey this our bossman don do to make things to dey easy for us wey go join the forum later.

Brainboss sir, Na only God go bless you and your likes in this forum for all the good things wey una put in place to make things dey easier for us in this forum. Even as anonymous as the forum take be, we shall one day have a platform to celebrate you and your likes for we Naija. Thank you sir and Sirs

Thank you for your comprehensive compilation of the names beloved country man. Though there might be other countrymen wey join the Bitcoin Talk before them or within the time the above listed people joined but couldn't identify themselves as our country people.
Na true you talk, many Nigerians don dey this forum even before any body on the list joined the forum(except Leo of course), and maybe e get another Nigerian wey don dey here even before Leo, na that one i no con dey sure of.
One i dey very sure of be say, there is this guys called Delemat, na through him i learn about this forum, that time, that was in 2015, he was an admin on the MMM group i belonged to, when MMM con flop, he con dey teach all of us about bitcoin, me enter google to find out wetin be Bitcoin, that was how i discovered this forum, i used the forum for several months without registering, on the 30th of july 2016, i decided to register after i discover one project wey i pick interest to invest in at the time, na that time i discover say that Delemat guy don dey for this forum since 2013.

I don try search for that account but nothing dey come up, maybe Delemat was not the username exactly, but he later abandon that account, con create new account wey he call Dalecoin Dev (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1086840), this na when he launch his own coin in 2017, e be like say the project no later succeed, so he kukuma abandon everything, both the project and the forum, i believe the nigga don make him money sha.

This whole story na just to prove you right say indeed, some Nigerians don dey this forum before those wey Hatchy mention joined the forum.

That being said, the ones you listed above I think deserves to be celebrated, respected and should be given special treatments in the forum
The boss and the person wey deserve special treatment here na CryptopreneurBrainboss, na him be the Nelson Mandela wey Nigerians, and Africans at large on this forum get, this no be to undermine the efforts of other users, but Brainboss na im start the process wey make Nigeria get name for this forum today, other users came along and rendered their support, because the battle no be the type wey one person dey win, so two other users wey really try well well na igebotz and mpamaegbu, special tribute to them, and make we no forget Becky666(may the Lord rest his soul.)

I had to go through each and every comment here and to be frank I love what I am reading. It is nice we have come this far and we shall continue to move forward together.
I know there are many people who were here before leo but that we do not know.

My joy is that Brainboss, Igebotz, Charles-Tim, Fivestar4evermvp, mpamaegbu and names too numerous to mention were able to coordinate things here and it paid. Here we are having fun on our own local board and hopefully, our childboards and more merit source request will be granted.

Congratulations to us all.

If you look at the thread very well, you will discovered that the first person that identify to be the first Nigeria person that joined Bitcointalk has achieved a title that made me to believe that he was the first Nigeria person that joined Bitcointalk with many evidence, which his name is BrainBoss, and he was the one that created this local board to impact BTC and crypto to Nigeria citizens, and he was the only Nigeria local board merit source. Like the way i understand it in our country to honour the first person that achieved a particular thing in a country, it will be the person that show up his or her face for other people to know that this person is from Nigeria. I think, BrainBoss, Igebotz, Charles-Tim and Mpamaegbu really deserve a standing renovation for making this platform a unique one and a good impact to our generation.

This makes me remember this my first post on this board (local thread at the time): Re: African bitcointalk community hangout (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121680.msg54456789#msg54456789).

The first Nigerian that I know was Coyster, and Posi. I have forgotten the person I first knew between them but I think it is Coyster. I joined this forum when I found about it online myself. So I had no friend at the time.

I definitely knew Coyster was a Nigerian from this 2020 post: The first BTC ATM in Nigeria (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237903.0) which was less than 30 days after I joined.

I sent PM to Coyster and he referred me to our local thread.

CryptopreneurBrainboss was the third that I knew which was from the local thread and I was able to know like three other Nigerians from the thread, and where I finally knew Posi is definitely a Nigerian.

It is actually good to see the progress of the community especially we as Nigerian are really putting efforts to make sure we are all recognized irrespective of any challenges and barrier we might came encountered with, truly Nigerians are good hustlers and I must commend on ourselves for that. I know it wasn't that easily scaling through the forum without a mentor @Charles-Tim but thank God today you made your way in and also became renounced person not just that also reputable member that Nigerian can be proudly and boast of in terms of any technical discussion and to whatever that we may find challenges over here, and I also happy to see that those people op listed where the first people who are in the forum although even though there are more people we are yet to discovered.

I believe they made themselves not to be associated with the Board maybe that could be for a personal purposes or and a reason but we must not fail to appreciate you people especially Brainboss, Igebotz and Mpamaegbu  and rest for their efforts and uniqueness to make sure this forum, I mean the local board where achieved and possibly we are dreaming on operating on the subforum which I know that is something undoubtedly that we must achieved for sure, actually I know it might take little time but this doesn't mean we won't achieve it as I believe togetherness it MUST come true to pass.

Congratulations to you people for keeping the community alive till date and I believe a legacy has been created, even though you are guys do not longer pay attention this forum again but, I believe those names are already recorded as the pioneers of the board.

Let love lead, and we grow by assisting and correcting ourselves if we think your junior aren't making progress or haven't getting things in a proper way always show them and notify them to make correction by doing this, this shows how cooperated we are.

Then how did you do the registration with VPN? Because you have to be directed or guided by someone to do the registration because of the VPN.

It feels good seeing how much your fellow Nigerians have contributed to the development and sharing of Bitcoin knowledge.  Honestly, I feel at home here as I have learnt a lot from the senior guys here. I believe we are just getting started with crypto in Nigeria.

We will do our best to make here fun-filled home. True true, Nija no dey carry last.

When I saw evil fee, I later tried with VPN and it worked. I knew the IP caused it. I have known things like this before I joined Bitcointalk.

This is how I knew about Bitcointalk:

9. Join the Bitcointalk forum
Set up directly by Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcointalk is one of the longest-running Bitcoin forums. It has millions of users, and if you’re interested in learning more about Bitcoin, make sure to join.

You can also get Bitcoin from the forum by consistently posting quality content. Once you gain enough authority, every post you make will have a sponsored signature. From there, you’ll get paid for everything you post on the form—just remember that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get to that point.

So my "I wan know how e started" spirit come up with the question of who is the first person wey identify himself as our country person to join BitcoinTalk

People no know different between first person to register on the forum and the first to identify himself as a Nigerian. If na first to register we get plenty bounties hunters wey their account go wey back. I dey jam dem plenty for bounty campaign wey I dey overseas and me personally my first involvements with this forum na 2015 wey men dey hustle for bounties with bountyhives dem and other bounty platforms. Account wey we create that time dun go (no be say dem ban am oh) but because at a time man need to find other hustle and to do that you need to rebrand yourself.  Make statistics no deceive as many things dey happen underground wey be say na only mehn wey know, know how far so when speaking about Nigerian on the forum, no look date of account creation as it doesn't tell the full stories although e get where we supposed talk stop make we no spoil our brothers hustle.

The day I realised that Brainboss was actually from Port Harcourt was one of the most exciting day of my life.

Actually I identifed as an African first because I wanted the continent to be fully represented on the forum but when I couldn't put together our brothers from the continent I decided it's best Nigeria get something to motivate others and thankfully we achieved our goal. One of the first Nigeria I knew on the forum was a guy (living overseas) that saw my post about the Nigerian government and sent me 10 merits as a motivation then him dey Hero and me dey member rank and na so we begin dey relate. We get plenty Nigerians wey be say dem dun ban their accounts for some mistakes and na dem I been first know dat year followed by our Snr man mpamaegbu.

You believed that Africa can come together and have a board on this forum, which mean English is what we are going to use to be posting. Then why do you want to make Pidgin mandatory for Nigerians when English is our official language.

If African Board should be created generally for all the Africans in the forum, then there was no need for separate Nigerian board but the Nigerian Board would have created as a child board in the Africans board and that idea was also good. And that would have making us, the Africans come together and know ourselves in the continent the more. We would have known more of our ourselves. For now it is too late to create such board. For now let everyone country create their board but we can still work with them as well. Some Africans can use the Nigerian Pidgin English, so I am even suspecting dat we have such aliens in the local board.

You forget sey some Nigerians wey dey dis forum fit dey abroad register and some wey even dey Naija fit use VPN register also?

Make statistics no deceive as many things dey happen underground wey be say na only mehn wey know, know how far so when speaking about Nigerian on the forum, no look date of account creation as it doesn't tell the full stories although e get where we supposed talk stop make we no spoil our brothers hustle.
Like sey some people reincarnated, ba?

Anyway, na true you talk chook there. Even till date sef some people still dey avoid gummy body with d rest of us unto make dem nor begin know dem as Naija peeps and those ones go don dey here tey tey.

~snipped~
Then why do you want to make Pidgin mandatory for Nigerians when English is our official language.
I thought this issue don dey settled long time ago? Why resurrect it? Yes, English na owa official language but we sabi how flowery, peculiar and sweet wey pidgin dey be for mouth and na wetin make some of us then supported pidgin. I follow people wey sey make we use pidgin only but as majority voted sey both King's English and pidgin should go together, we settled for that. That supposed be bygone by now na. Abi e get something wey I dey miss here?

A member which is not even no more a newbie raised the topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5462426.msg62662293#msg62662293

First I thought a member that have known about some of us posting in English should not bring such topic. Although, it is a question which is not bad and I have answered it perfectly until I am perceiving something coming up again.

Although most Nigerians on the thread also still support both languages.

We have it already as the number one rule on the local board, which is what we supposed to be pointing to for newbies and not to bring what can escalate the matter again and also to avoid thoughts.

It is worth to know that it is easy for some forum members to easily know ban evaders sometimes and this is still happening. This kind of thing do happen to spammers and people that are plagiarizing.

I don't really consider it like that since life no dey really work like that plus I registered earlier before him as well but that's by the way. If we had known that time would pass the way it did, I'm sure we would have made better memories or have more fun with our peers and we didn't. The next thing you know, you don pass that stage and there's no going back. Even at university level, na still same thing but not as distant as secondary except in some cases like sec school mates becoming university mates too.

The first Nigerian that I know was Coyster, and Posi. I have forgotten the person I first knew between them but I think it is Coyster. I joined this forum when I found about it online myself. So I had no friend at the time.
You be better asset for this forum, that one na better fact wey everybody know. I no go lie, i really admire the way you take dey very intelligent and your ability to learn very fast. Immediately you joined the forum, e been dey very clear from the beginning say na Bitcoin knowledge carry you come here, and you don garner enough Bitcoin knowledge since then till now, i still dey even learn from your posts, continue your good work my friend, Charles-Tim.
I definitely knew Coyster was a Nigerian from this 2020 post: The first BTC ATM in Nigeria (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237903.0) which was less than 30 days after I joined.

I sent PM to Coyster and he referred me to our local thread.
Nostalgia just full my body now, i swear. I just go check that PM now, and it is over 3 years ago, plus other PM's wey we been exchange, even as we became friends outside the forum, you na one Naija forum user wey i been get along very easily with, and Cryptopreneurbrainboss too wey dey always support Nigerians, God bless you. Omoh, there are better things to come for the Bitcointalk Naija community, everybody dey contribute well, and this topic na just proof of how far we don come and we go continue to dey move forward.
