Title: Coinbase announced LN integration
Post by: Rikafip on September 13, 2023, 08:30:19 AM
After their biggest competitor Binance recently implemented LN, Coinbase finally decided to do the same. Their CEO was talking about possibility of them implementing it some time ago but he finally announced that decision has been made and that they will start working on it.

I created the same topic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5466625.0) some seconds ago after you have posted yours. I will lock the thread now.

It would be good if Coinbase integrate lightning network. And we hope to see more exchanges to enable bitcoin lightning network integration.

Carrying out transactions using the Lightning network is easier because it is faster and cheaper than using a regular network for transactions.
Coinbase did something good with this announcement and I'm sure in the future other exchanges will follow that will implement the lightning network in transactions like them.

While its of course a good thing when one of the biggest and most popular exchanges announce LN integration, there are many exchanges that are already supporting LN so Coinbase is not doing anything that others haven't done before (and some of them like Bitstamp implemented it years ago).

Here (https://github.com/theDavidCoen/LightningExchanges) you can see the full list of exchanges with their current situation regarding Lightning Network.
