The answer depends on your preference, each provides commensurate returns. We know that trading requires more complex strategies and takes more time. If you want to get started, some things you need to prepare include:

- Trading: technical and fundamental analysis, mental/psychological training.
- Investments: How to secure assets and maintain privacy.

I recommend you to choose the path of investing if you want huge profits from Bitcoin because trading is something that only a few people can understand fully and most of the traders often tend to lose money instead of earning any profits. I'm a trader myself and I can surely say that trading is a very risky thing for most people, and the main reason for such risk is that people want huge profits in short time which isn't likely to happen.

If you really want to have better profits as a trader then you'll have to be patient and give proper time to master a trading strategy and once you master it then only make trades according to that strategy. The investors simply invest in an asset in this case (Bitcoin) and wait for at least 2-5 years before selling that asset to earn profits. The longer we hold the higher will be the profits and that's why people say HODL your Bitcoin if you want to have a life free from financial worries.

Actually which one better between invest or trade bitcoin depend on your financial condition, if you have dependent financial condition to be investor is better than trading with potential or opportunity on the future bitcoin will up drastically more than 50% to 70%. But if your financial condition still not dependent I don't think to be investor is better than trader. You need passive income or taking profit in daily day as not good financial condition but if you have another income from salary payment on company working its better to be long term holding as investor.

Have positive and negative side when becoming short term or trader in bitcoin trading, when imagination with bitcoin success break out to higher price we are disappointed moment why not hold bitcoin for long term or to be investor.

You have said it all here. Investing which you called long term and which involves low risk also may provide low profit compareed to the commutative profit of trading which will be comparatively higher. But the trading involves not only higher risk, but also higher capital in order to make good daily profits
While someone who does not actually understand the market very well can invest and yet make good profits, someone who doesn't know about the charts and doesn't understand day trading will only lose all their capitals.

Another consideration is the amount of time you want to give cryptocurrency. While a day trader may need to make trading their full time job. Someone investing will only make passive profits and still have time to do other things

Trading is a great way to waste a lot of time only to be outperformed by the market.

Sure, with a lot of time and patience one might eventually become a profitable trader, but in my opinion the opportunity cost is not really worth it (i.e. the time spent on learning how to trade could also be spent on building a career that in many cases might be both more fullfilling and profitable, the latter allowing for a larger deployment of capital and thus more gains in the long run).

Unless of course becoming a trader is the career you want to build, but even then striving for a career in the finance sector first and then diving into trading might be the more effective path.

For the lack of opportunity to land a job these days, building a career as crypto trader might just be a good idea. He just has to spend a lot of money and time to learn though. Training yourself to trade is gonna be fun but also horrifying once he experiences these I guess he can decide which route he wants to go.

To me its easier to just become a trader during a bull run and just be a long-term holder in the bear market. Just keep busy while waiting for the bull market again by becoming a gambler.

I think your question is answered in your post. My personal opinion is that trading means investment whether it is long term or short time trading. But in the case of short term trading, I think trading skills are more necessary, especially in the field of technical analysis. Moreover, here you have to keep an eye on the various updates related to crypto currency.
So considering these aspects, I think short time trading is a little more harder than long-term trading. I am not saying that analysis is not required in the case of long term trading, but in that case, if you know some fundamental things, if you follow a DCA strategy and invest, there is a possibility of getting a good profit later. So I will tell you if you are new then start investment by managing a long term DCA. Also, if you are interested in short-term trading, then also learn about various technical analyses.

Of course, you can first consider trading and investing with the money you earn from trading. You should always have a strong back. Do not play the last match to lose.

Trading requires some specialised skills, which is why it is not proper to start without acquiring them. Trading is one of the easiest ways to lose your Bitcoin but the benefit of trading is that it could bring short-term profit. Investors are long-term hodlers and the risk involved is minimal. Although you need to have some basic knowledge about Bitcoin investment, it is not as complicated as trading. The most important knowledge you need as a Bitcoin holder is how to keep your coin safe since you will be keeping it for a long time. Bitcoin investors are patient and brave enough to keep holding even when the media is filled with news that can propel FUD.

I can tell you to be a trader or an investor, you have to make your choice based on the research you have carried out. There are successful Bitcoin traders that have made a fortune from it. And others have also failed in the trading Bitcoin sub-ecosystem. There are also many investors that have reaped some handsome rewards from their long-term investments.

You already knew the difference and the risk involved in both. So, how it is still so difficult for you to decide, I think you love your money so much that now you don't want to see it moving into another form, either making you lose or profit. Well, if that's the case, then first you have to stop doing that, and should make up your mind first. What is your time period, in which you wanted to make a profit, what is your capital, because in holding we might start with lower capital but in trading, we need more money to start.

In my thoughts, if I were in your place, and I have little knowledge of investing and trading, and my aim is to make a profit out of my $1000 dollars, then I would definitely go for holding, at the current moment, because the market is moving up and making trades in this highly volatile market is so the risk for a newbie. And for start doing trading, you first have to learn a lot of strategies and techniques, means, learning to trade is harder than learning the basics of Holding. Besides all this, I would go for holding, as the current market is in favor of doing holding.

Let's say, you have $1000 dollars and you want to do a lump sum at the current market rate, you will get 0.03218 BTC and if you hold it till BTC reaches $100,000 or more, you will be able to make $2000 profit on your $1000 capital. This is good in my sight, but you can definitely make more in trading but you have to be careful and I don't think you can make that much money if you select the BTC pair. Maybe in Alts you can make it.

It is better to invest with low risk than trading requires a lot of skills that are needed, if you only rely on bitcoin trading alone especially in spot trading it will not produce better unless you trade futures but you know how risky it is in futures trading.

If you want to trade, have you mastered the techniques what @noorman0 said? Or are you just getting started, if so then choose the investment route because you won't need anything except to hold and store assets in a non-custodial wallet.
Although before I did trading it was no more good risk is always there, so now switch to investment with low risk.

I don't know why, but you are spitting facts about me,  :D :D I just stepped into future trading, a few days back, and the experience was not so fascinating, Lost all of the profit and capital. But the experience of learning and observing the risk and on-field experience was really good. The time to learn, practice, and memorize the basics and lessons of trading are too difficult but I would say they are not that difficult and worth it. Because even if you become a software engineer or website developer, and find a job, and start making some good money, you cannot make money, that a person who started with you, and is in trading.

I have seen people shifting toward crypto trading even after doing a job and making a good career.

Unless of course becoming a trader is the career you want to build, but even then striving for a career in the finance sector first and then diving into trading might be the more effective path.
I would call it the total wastage of time.

If you’re not fond of checking every price action of Bitcoin then long term investment would be best. Trading is a more complicated way to earn profit from this industry. Trading would let you maximize your profit IF you will be making the right trade; profit is bigger if you’re an experienced trader. But if you have a large capital and you’re not that familiar with patterns in market price of Bitcoin then simply wait for a low market value and invest, then just hold it until satisfactory of profit. Which is better? Depends on your capital, knowledge, and risk tolerance in this industry. I suggest engaging to one which would suit you well.

OP, both are good. Doing any of the two (or both) will depend on you and your level of exposure to it (them). However, if you're a greenhorn in this industry I suggest you just buy and hodl. Don't trade, except you've got any trading skills (I doubt, anyway, if you've).

The decision of what to do between trading and investing is yours, provided that you are aware of the risk involved.

Long-term bitcoin investment has advantages over short-term investments because it entails less risk and requires less knowledge of the market and charts for cryptocurrencies; you only need to learn how to keep your bitcoin secure in your wallet, as opposed to trading, which necessitates that you understand the fundamentals of market movement, charts, and various strategies to prevent excessive loss.

Your concern should be trade or hold. Because when you enter into trading and buy a coin, you have already invested in it. Now you are part of the coin; if it dumps, then you lose; if it pumps, you gain. Hold means you hold it for a long time until you reach your desired price. Any cryptocurrency investment is highly risky. No matter whether you are trading or holding. Usually 'Investing' we mean investing in a brand new project. But it seems you mean it as a long-term holding. There are no high or low risks; you may lose big from both. I will advise you to make a decision based on your experience. If you aren't a very good trader, then you might choose to hold. Also, you should understand when you should hold, so experience and knowledge in crypto will play a major role.

You should have weigh the both side for OP so that he can pick one after going through the merit and demerit of the two options. Recommending investment isn't a bad one, that's what every newbie does but saying that he will profit a huge profits is misleading because you are giving him/her high hope without even asking for his capital. If OP is really going into bitcoin as an investment and want to earn huge, his profits will be inversely proportional to his capital, if the capital is in a very reasonable amount, he will make some gains too and vice versa, don't expect huge profit with $100 capital investment.

Bitcoin hodl is the best, I can assure on that if you hodl(hold) for long time but if trading has its own merit as well, when you have the knowledge and understanding, it's profitable but it requires your time and effort in understanding the market. You will also lose some money too, know this and know peace but with consistency in bullrun, you will plug some dollars from trading bitcoin.

Either of these two can give you profit, but doing both can give you massive profits. It all depends on how are you willing to invest time with bitcoin or crypto in general, if you have ample of time you may wanna spend in trading because trading is a good way in market to gain profit in daily or regular intervals you want. On the other hand, if you don't wanna be on your monitor in most of your time, then you can invest and hold bitcoin until such time that market turns green or enter a bull market. But trading involves more risks thank merely holding your bag, it's like walking on the streets trying to buy the cheapest coins vs holding your bag while watching tv program at home.

If this should be a kind of advice, I will not advise you to trade. This is because it is like you are new to trading. But if you are not new to it and you have made many trades and you actually make profits, then you can trade, but if you are not a trader, this is not the perfect time to trade. Just invest.

But if you insist and just want to trade, out of the 100% money that you want to use to invest and trade, use 1% to learn how to trade, 9% for trading and use the remaining 90% for investing in bitcoin. Trading is very risky and it is best to use the amount of money that you can afford to lose to trade.

From the beginning of Bitcoin birth, long term holders have always be the most profitable of them all and it's also more safer, no risk in holding Bitcoin than to risk of possible lost of asset through carelessness or silly mistakes.

Since you are new, read more about Bitcoin and know the best wallets to use for storing Bitcoin for long term and start trading if you like, but know that trading is very risky, you can lose money in trading easily that's why you need to reshape your skills in time.

You lose money invest in Bitcoin only if you sell at a lower price, Bitcoin is more like Gold and that's why you can keep holding for years to come, as you can see even Black Rock and other big giants in the financial worlds are going Big into crypto space, they won't come near if Bitcoin is trash.

Technically traders are still investors. Because rather than accumulating bitcoins by direct purchase and then waiting for it to gain in value, traders try to make profit from the market by predicting it's movement. The aim of everyone is to make profit from bitcoins, and buying bitcoins (investment), trading or even mining bitcoins are all ways to profit. They are all good.

Investing in bitcoins does not require as much technical knowledge as trading and mining bitcoin demand.

Long-term investment is the wiser choice. With it, you won't have to worry about complex analyses like day traders who must always be ready in front of their computers, gazing at candlestick charts. Long-term investment can be done at any time; you simply buy and then almost forget about it, so your emotions don't get mixed up when bearish prices come early. I am very confident that, in the end, the price of BTC will rise as well.

In long-term investments, you will have more time to focus on other productive matters. This way, your income will come from various sources, making you wealthier more quickly.

As long as Bitcoin is not an instant money generator, waiting is the most appropriate approach. There's no need to rush for quick profits because network growth and wider adoption also take time. Fundamentally, Bitcoin holds great promise for the future.

I'd ask you how long do you have to hold bitcoin for it to turn from a trade to an investment.

You buy bitcoin and sell it on the same day - that's easy, you are trading
What if you hold for a week and sell after that?
How about a month?
A year?
2 years so that you buy in a bear market and sell in a new bull cycle? Is that trading?

I feel like most people trade it just depends on the time they're willing to hold. For some people it's a few days but for others a few years.

Only your decision can inform you of the risks involved in both, because both trading and investing carry hazard of their own risks, so how will not advise someone to trade. Especially beginner, in particular, cannot begin his trading path without prior understanding. You've studied a variety of methods and techniques, as well as their abilities and how they work. However, investing is simply for you to learn how to keep your Bitcoin safe in your wallet and to invest only the amount of money you can afford to lose.

Investment is a form of trading. Everything boils down to you. Your available time? The profit you aiming for and the project you dealing with. For example holding Bitcoin for a long term is profitable bit same can't be said about most altcoins. I believe Any is better based on the project and your targets.

No doubt that investing is better. As you have said that it requires lower risk and you're for the long term and that's the type I am. Time will come that I have to trade the Bitcoins that I am holding for long term so that's the next move. We all need to trade Bitcoins for us to experience the profit from it because if we don't, value might get lower when we're in the bull run and we will miss the time of profiting. That is the reason why you need to trade when you are in profit, when you're done in long term and you've got that much already. Then, you can practice trading whether it's with Bitcoins or altcoins of your choice because you're just gonna do it care free and you're fine doing it without nothing to worry about because you've already made profit from your long term hold.

Everyone has their preference and wants, and of course, the level of their understanding and capabilities.
I, therefore, chose to invest because I knew in myself that I was not really good at trading. Though sometimes I do this but with limited time only as I thought that the more I trade, the more I make mistakes and losses.

While investing, I can sure myself that can certainly make a profit. That is why I don't make myself hard so I choose where I have confidence and where I can perform so well.

Investing is long-term and involves low risk, while trading is short-term and involves high risk. Both methods can be profitable if the right strategy is adopted.
How big the risk will depend on the knowledge and experience of the investors/traders. Although investment is safer, it can be riskier if we don't have enough knowledge about it. Moreover, if we has a lack of experience in crypto investment. Meanwhile, trading can be safer if we know well how to trade properly. There are many day traders that can gain profits almost every day, they know how to gain profits effectively although the profits aren't really big.

Well, method will be adopted/applied based on the knowledge of the investors/traders. That's why it is required sufficient knowledge to know the wright method/strategy to apply.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.
Both are good, many people do both investment and trading together. I think we don't need to choose which one is the best.
If we trade Bitcoin besides we invest in Bitcoin, we can get profits daily/weekly. We don't need to wait for few years to get profits. So, we don't feel bored to wait for the profits from Bitcoin investment only.

Both have pros, and cons, and you already said some of them like the risks of doing both.

It's a subjective thing knowing that not all can do trading, and at the same time, not all have the patience to hold Bitcoins for quite some time. Some are doing investing alone, and will just hold Bitcoin. Some are trading since they're good at it, while there are some who are doing both of them because they're capable to.

Overall, it will depend on you OP on which suits best for you. You can try them both if you want to since holding especially with Bitcoin doesn't require that much research compare to when you want to trade where you need to make some research, and analysis. Good luck OP... I guess.

99% of traders lose money in the long run. Everyone thinks they can outsmart the market, but most end up losing their shirt.
Sure there are a few who make good money as day traders. But for every one that makes money there are a hundred others who lose money.

In short, trading is dumb. Your odds of making money trading are worse than if you gambled your money in a Vegas casino.

If you want to trade Bitcoin and are new to this kind of business, you will need to learn about Bitcoin trading in the space. It means that there is a correct process because if you start the wrong process here, you probably won't get a good profit here in Bitcoin. In short, if you're a beginner, it's inevitable that you'll try to trade even if you don't know anything, and you'll just base your trading on chance or chance analysis.

So it's better if you know that you don't know anything about it. You should invest in the meantime, so that at least you won't have any hassle and worry. Just hold it for the long term and wait for the right time. To sell it, you can earn Bitcoin for sure while you learn it.

It's better to invest for the long term if you don't have comprehensive knowledge about trading because you might end up losing your capital if you mess up with the wrong moves. in order to be a successful trader you need to go through a lot of trial and error and you need a lot of money from that because it needs personal experience in order to catch up and learn the movement of the price and how trading works in the crypto market. therefore, you can just simply invest and hold for the long term and at the same time, read some basic knowledge regarding trade.

Investing doesn't mean you will just hold a currency or crypto; it still requires analysis and knowledge. why? Investing in or holding a cryptocurrency is not just buying and waiting to earn. No, that's not it. You will first need to know if this price is the right price to buy or if this is the right time to buy and hold. What if you buy bitcoin at a certain price but it doesn't go well? There's a right timing and certain point perfect to buy and hold a coin. So both investing and trading require knowledge and analysis; it's just that they have different levels. Well, it depends on the person's reference to what they can do and what they want to do. But for me, it has the same risk and a lot of profit potential. For me, I do both trading for short-term earnings and investing or holding for long-term earnings.

It is better to HoDL than trade BTC as a new comer or newbie, because the intricacies of trading is such that unless one has understood it before joining this forum, one has to learn and understand and observe the strategies being used by those ahead of us to trade and earn efficiently as well as as one who maintained a HoDL stand over a duration of Time.
Keeping the coins or HoDlings safe is another practice that may require the right guide to ascertain and dicipher the best trading savings tools/wallet to use.

We need to understand well what we will choose before doing it so that we don't experience losses in investing or trading. If we can do these two things then we will be able to get profits from the investments and trades we make, but investing certainly takes a long time. to be able to make a profit and in trading, if we can analyze the market well, of course we will easily get a profit from the trades we make. Yes, you are right, in every investment or trade there is a risk of making a profit or losing, so we have to be very careful in doing so.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.
When investing or trading in Bitcoin, you have to take risks. Because both investing and trading are risky. But investing is less risky than trading.  Investing in Bitcoin requires you to be patient and hold for a long time. If the market dips a bit by investing, you can't get restless, trust Bitcoin and hold for a long time. If you don't hold for a long time, you won't be able to earn much profit. But to do trading you need to understand the market. Many people think that trading is very easy but actually it is very difficult if you have no knowledge about the market. It may be that you can be damaged by wrong trading. If you have good knowledge about trading then you can do trading. Finally I would say investing in Bitcoin is better than trading.

As a beginner, investing and holding is better than trading when your knowledge is zero. You can combine both if you have enough time for them, you don't have to choose just one and no one is forcing you to do that. Divide your capital in half to hold bitcoin and the other half for daily trading or divide it in the ratio you feel is right for you. Personally, I don't spend all my time on the market so I just hold and the rest of the time I work on my businesses. Whether you hold or trade, don't just depend on the market, always have a job with outside income that will be good for your investments.

It all depends on your ability to trade. If you have the analytical skills to trade, you can trade and invest in Bitcoin at the same time. You can get two benefits: increasing the number of Bitcoins or stablecoins.

But to trade in Bitcoin, you must have patience because spot trading cannot expect to sell at a high price immediately. Sometimes, we have to wait a few days before we can sell at a high price. But if the Bitcoin market is bull-run, you can sell at a high price.

Trading Bitcoin can be done in the short, medium, and long term. However, it depends on the Bitcoin market situation because the Bitcoin market cannot always rise continuously. We have experienced that the Bitcoin market was in a sideways position some time ago, so we must wait until the price increases before selling it.

But if you doubt your trading abilities, it is better to choose the investment. Buying and holding Bitcoin will be better for you and you can use the DCA method to invest in Bitcoin.

I agree with most of the answers, which I would formulate as follows: for most people it is better to simply invest, do Buy and Hold or DCA. It's a simple way to make money with Bitcoin. For trading, it depends, the more short-term the trading is, the more knowledge and control of emotions you have to have to be among the small percentage that make it profitable in the long term, but there is also an interesting point:

Yes. They are not mutually exclusive.

In my opinion they can be combined but trading in the medium term as a minimum, which would be to take advantage to buy more in bear markets and sell at specific times in bull markets, not to be buying and selling all day long.

Listen, you've hit on some undeniably sharp truths about Bitcoin and its long-term potential. Long-term holders? They've historically always come out on top. Its a game of patience, and its astonishing how many people forget that. But then, theres this whirlwind of temptation with trading. You're right; trading can be like gambling - exhilarating when you win, crushing when you dont. Its not just about luck; its about meticulous strategy, and thats where many fall short.

For newbies, your advice is golden (or should I say, "Bitcoin"?). Delve deep into the crypto world. Understand it, respect it. Bitcoin isnt just some digital fad; its a revolution. When heavyweights like Black Rock throw their hat into the crypto ring, its not for kicks and giggles. They see potential, just as you do. But, and heres the kicker, potential is only realized by those willing to learn and be patient.

It is on a case-to-case basis in my opinion --perhaps.
Why? --because not all of us know how to trade, know how to do technical analysis nor fundamental analysis.
In that case, it depends on our knowledge or skills, for low knowledge or skills, investing and holding perhaps is an ideal one and for an experienced crypto enthusiast, would be trading.

All of us who are involved in cryptocurrency have heard and know to some extent about investing and trading. But I know that there are risks in investing and trading. To do these you need to know some basic things and gain experience. The main difference between investing and trading is the investment period, methodology, risk-taking propensity. Whether you are an investor or a trader depends on your financial needs and investment goals. Investing is long-term and involves low risk, while trading is short-term and involves high risk. Both methods can be profitable if the right strategy is adopted.
Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

If you want to start earning in bitcoin, you have to know that no one will choose for you to start treading or investing because you are the one who will do it, not someone else. What I can add up is that first of all, you need to know the difference between a long-term investment and treading, which is a short-term investment, and know their risk, which I can say treading is more risky than investment. Again, in treading, you need to acquire more knowledge about the technical aspects of bitcoin and know some strategy for whether to buy or sell. You have to engage in strong and serious research and also engage in classes to learn more, so all you have to do is assess them and choose yourself. Both of them are profitable, but to me, I will go for investment because it is less stressful and requires less knowledge.

Those of us who are into cryptocurrencies must have some experience with trading. There are risks involved in investing and trading where everyone has their own kind of fear that's why we need to use that experience to trade. Especially in the case of trading, the fear of losing money is the greatest, and those who have been trading for a long time can certainly make a profit. However, investing does not have as much risk as separate trading, Bitcoin investors have less fear of losing money and less risks. Investment is a long-term project where people get security of their money and don't have that kind of risk. And trading is risky as it is for short period of time for which they can gain little money and suffer losses easily. So it is better to be careful about our trading and investing and invest with the intention of making us profit for long term.

I see trading as a waste of time and lack of rest of mind, all the time you are reading charts and looking at bitcoin price and at the end, you might still run at loss. Trading comes with little profit and it is very risky, because the probability of running at loss is higher than making profit. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme due to its volatile nature. One of the basic concept of bitcoin is that you should only invest the the amount of money that you can afford to lose, and that you should invest for a long period of time. This is because if you invest with the amount that you can afford to lose, you wouldn't panic and sell your coins when bitcoin price goes below your entry point, you will ignore that fear and leave your bitcoin in your wallet. The best way to make profit on bitcoin is to go on a long term bitcoin journey and use DCA method regularly to increase your bitcoin, because bitcoin price will keep pumping till infinity.

It also cannot be said that bitcoin trading is a waste of time and money. Just because we can't profit from trading doesn't mean others can't either. I couldn't do that either, but I remember even on our forum there were some people claiming that they could make money from trading and even consider it a source of income to support their families. That proves that not everyone will lose money when trading.

Trading or investing long-term depends on each person's preferences, you are a long-term holder but you should not say trading is bad. You and I can't make money trading, but maybe OP is better than us?

People who didn't get a result for trading bitcoin might think that bitcoin trading is really a waste of time since they forget the fact that trading it would take time especially if they do spot trades. But if they are into future they can possibly figure out that trading it would be profitable the same with other coins they trade. But unfortunately for those people saying negative about that want to see immediate result so they get dismayed since bitcoin is for long term just like what we experiencing at the moment where good pump happen.

Trading or investing like hodling for long term really depends on the person since as said not everyone could able to trade it right since some think about getting rich quickly without knowing the whole stats going on bitcoin. But if they could just save it and intend to hold for long term maybe case will be different and they find it a good option to trade.

Investing bitcoin is not as risky when trading bitcoin, what you just have to know when investing bitcoin is just for you to understand the market,  if you can understand the market you will be able to make good decisions as you invest when volatility is affecting the market the market.  Their is nothing complicated or risky in investing market,  you just need to invest the amount you can afford to lose and be able to excise patience when the market is going dip knowing that it will sure come up.
.
Trading has it own risk too, that is why it is advisable to get knowledge before going into trading. Rushing into trading without better understanding can be a big risk which can result to drastic lose of fund. Both trading and investing has their own risk but a better understanding can minimise risk.

You're right, both have their own risks and advantages. It would be wrong to assume that bitcoin trading is risky and investing is risk-free. Investing and holding requires us to have basic knowledge about the bitcoin market, especially patience. If we do not have the knowledge and cannot be patient for many years, our investment will definitely suffer losses. But it is true that investing is less risky than trading because trading requires more knowledge, the short-term volatility of bitcoin is harder to predict making trading riskier. But if someone has the knowledge, experience and takes advantage of that short-term volatility, it can generate very good profits. So it can be said that both have advantages and disadvantages and it depends on each person's choice.

I also prefer to be a holder and find it way better than to be an active trader. The logic of buying low and selling high is what we have to understand and execute properly. No need to read and take analysis on it and our own analysis is through what we know about Bitcoin and is founded through trust and faith. Bitcoin has proven itself already and we have our own ways determining its ways to the future and just like what is happening right now, we've got a sudden push because of the ETF speculation and excitement.

I'm not good at trading so I prefer holding bitcoin. However, for those who are experts in trading, maybe trading will be more profitable because we can get daily, weekly or monthly profits
This is the good alternative when people are good in trading, they stay in trading. But for us that don't like to trade anymore or mostly failed in trading, we have the alternative and better option which is to become an investor. Well, we've got our own choices if it's about investing and trading but you can do better if you're up to and you're totally a great guy that can combine these activities at the same time.

You made such decision depending on close range of need to solve your financial faculties or in a haste to tackle other affairs. Otherwise, following how you have just differentiated between investment and trade, that of investment is way better when it gets to the Bitcoin marketing reason because Long term BTC investment would have you low risk just as said with lesser stress to on market monitorship and you are to stand on the potentiality of Bitcoin to enrichment.

If you could be observe in couple of months ago, Bitcoin value has be staggering within a particular value rate before it could get to a higher value of today.
This just to say that the potentiality to be a benefitial during the marketing bull run is based on patient and more patient exercises as a long term investment is potentialed to further benefits of profits.
In BTC long term investment, you can Invest and look away from the market with just minimum of time to scale through the market required with the believe that the volatility of the currencies would never be a threat to your goal with the potentials of higher profitablity.

While short term investment as may be called trading would require much technicalities and skills with a maximum time to attentiveness to scale through the market is required with the tendencies of higher risks involved and could aim on profiting in little rate of value and higher rate of capital is required.

If you are ready to take higher risk and you want to earn a lot of money quickly though, you can do trading. Because the risk in trading is high but it pays us more. Trading is one thing that does not take much time for a man to take everything and it does not take much time for a man to give everything. Only skill is required. If you are skilled in trading, there is less risk. Now if you don't want to take risk and if you have time in hand then investing is best for you. Because long-term investments can earn a lot of money and involve much less risk. If you have time, you should invest long term in Bitcoin now, because very soon the Bitcoin bull market will start and generate ATH. Which will give 3-4 times more return than your current investment.

Will depend on your goal, when making an investment you do the same thing in trading because you cannot invest in Bitcoin if you didn't even make a trade. I guess its ideal to compare is to hold or for short-term trading. If you have a lot of time to watch the market every day and want to make a ride with the volatility, its good to make short-term trading through scalping or in a day trade personally i prefer day trade its easier to check the market price movement than in an hour else you will hold your coin until you get satisfied, until when?, it's up to you can be greedy through holding for months or years or as long you want to pull it up.

People really do this. They tend to do investing while trading even without enough knowledge. The reason behind this is they see other traders earning a decent amount of money. Then, after trying to do trading and getting influenced to start trading by other people, they end up losing money as they don't know what they are doing.

In the end, a realization will come to them, however, it's too late as they already lost money. This serves as a learning lesson that they will never forget because instead of investing while gaining knowledge, they let their emotion take over them and immediately start trading.

I guess the people who don't like trading and talk bad about it are the ones who have lost money while trading, LOL.

Generally speaking investors buy cryptocurrencies with sound fundamentals and expect prices to rise over time. Traders take advantage of market volatility by holding their coins for a short period of time to maximize profits but bitcoin investment is best here with low risk and good returns if held for long term. And in the case of trading but these will usually depend on the knowledge and skills of the person in the case of trading you need to know about the indicators of the market there is a lot of experience needed here.

Normally, beginners engage first in bitcoin investing not only because it's low risk, but it's more stress free and only needs short preparation before you are capable to invest. As long as you know you understand your investment, and you are aware on how to secure your bitcoin in your wallet for long term, then I don't think it will be hard for you to succeed on your investment. But with bitcoin trading, not only its high risky, but it also needs long term preparation and practice so you can be well-skilled and experienced in trading. And since it's high risk, the more you put bigger capital, the higher the risk of losing. That is why if you want to trade, do it with a small amount of capital first.

However, you can also do both if you want. That is if you are well capable to combat the losses because you have obtained adequate knowledge and experience on both aspects. Both have actually their own risks, and you can only lessen their risks if you possess the right attitude and use the perfect strategies that will work on them.

Like if you have a low-risk appetite - will certainly be choosing to invest. But those who have high-risk appetites will then choose to trade. It is for sure we know our personal capabilities and the level of our risk. Therefore, we'd choose the best option, in fact, both of them are reasonably profitable but yes, they all have different results depending on our strategies, risk management, and fund management.

Not only is the work at high risk, it also requires one's own knowledge and intelligence. You will notice that some traders are profiting even in bad market conditions. Because they have very good market research. Now if a newbie trades six and starts trading the wrong coin with high risk, can he profit?
Therefore, it is important to have more knowledge to become a trader than to invest.

This is sort of my approach as well, I do not see the extra added benefit of it all that much, I feel like I am doing alright as it is and do not feel the need to trade just to make a profit. Investment brings me enough profit, so far it has been good to me and I doubt that it would get any worse on the long run neither.

People who bought as much bitcoin as they possibly could during this bear period in the last 2 years since the last ATH happened and started to fall, would end up with a lot of time to collect and accumulate, and those people who kept it and didn't sell during all this time, could be making a huge huge profit next year when the bull run starts. That's the most important thing and should go on for as long as possible.

I'm sure there are tons of such discussions out here on the forum, but perhaps opinions change over time, so making another one is a bit justified.
Trading is good if a person can consistently profit from it, but that's a big if because only a fraction of people are actually successful with it.
Investment won't bring stable income, but it's very easy to do and just wait for the price to grow, so it's easier and safer, I believe.
I know I don't have time for trading and that I'm not good at it, so investing is a better option for me. I've tried that, and I've tried crypto investments, and the latter worked a lot better for me.

I think both are great if you have skills in both. Long-term investing and trading can be profitable or not, depending on the strategy you use. Indeed, investments are safer if you understand them well, you just need to keep them for a long period of time. Moreover, investing in bitcoin, you know, there will be a halving soon, bitcoin is also on the rise recently.

Trading: to seek profits little by little towards investment
Investment: to prepare long-term and fundamental funds for your life.

If I use both, 80% for long-term investing and 20% for trading.

I suggest you choose the option which best suits your needs. Both are very good options to gain profit. If you don't have time to monitor day-to-day price movement and skill acquisition, then it is better to invest in Bitcoin for the long term and hold your investment. If you have time and analytical skills and looking to make a profit from Bitcoin in the short term, then you should opt for trading. Be cautious because trading is riskier than investment as one can not predict the exact price action/ market trends.
You can also opt for a combination of both; you can dedicate a portion of your wealth to BTC investment and long-term hold and another to trade in BTC for a more short-term profit.

When you know everything about Bitcoin. You also know about the risks involved in investment and trade. Then what difficulty do you face in choosing trade and investment? From your post you seem to have good experience in both trading and investing. If you have experience and knowledge you can do both trading and investing, if you lack experience you can invest.

I think bitcoin investing is easier than trading. Trading is difficult, and requires  experience.while in investing you can earn a good profit by holding Bitcoin for a long time. Now is a great time to invest, as the price of Bitcoin has a high chance of going up over the next year. So now investing is a good option instead of trading.

It depends on the situation of the market, by looking today’s market condition i would suggest you to do trading because there is a fluctuation in the market. Adopt the simple rule buy at dip and sell at pump, by this you can earn an handsome amount on weekly basis!

Trading is not for everyone. It requires complex knowledge and skills. And the risks are high in trading. Investing into Bitcoin could also be risky if not done right. Investing does not require any kind of complex knowledge about the market and price movements also other things related to it. And you don't have to put as much effort you need to put while trading. Both are profitable no doubt about that. But only a few can pull off trading and make profit out of it. In simple words, both have their pros and cons but if done right it is going to be really profitable.

But here's the idea. When you begin, you should start with investment. After that when you stay with the market, learn about it, experience all the movements that are happening in it, then you will somewhat understand how things works. If you get interested after this then you can easily learn about it.

You have your investment in a different account and you use another account to learn how to trade. Your investment keeps on growing while you learn new things and new way of making more profit out of your investments. The profit you get from your investment could then be put into trading for more profits.

How many people claiming trading is a viable alternative have been doing this efficiently along the years? I don't think a considerable percentage of Bitcoin adopters have, and most who have tried ended losing money that could be just held in BTC thinking on long term gains through investment. As I see, trading is a waste of money, unless you get entertained by this practice, as it's quite challenging and rewarding to make profit from this, just like in gambling. But if you aim long term profits and to stay on this universe for a long time, just invest and forget about trading. It's much safer and still profitable, after all.

And in the case of trading but these will usually depend on the knowledge and skills of the person in the case of trading you need to know about the indicators of the market there is a lot of experience needed here. If you do not understand the correct signals of the coins the risk is high because there is always volatility in the market.
Understanding is what matters when it comes to trading and investing but it seems people see trading and investing to be something very difficult because they do not have the time to go after learning but just want to gain money quick. Making profits from trading is more about learning and experience . In trading having knowledge about indicators helps in making profit, volatility needs to be understood very well . I think where most people found trading difficult is how to manage the volatility of the market.

Ain't a financial or investment advisor here. If you do not have knowledge about trading yet, buying and holding would be likely your primary choice.

Trading requires skills in reading the charts, candlesticks, technical analysis, etc. On top of that, trading has short term results than just buying and holding BTCs which has long term results.

I'm not a skilled trader by the way as I am more into long-term holding of BTCs.

If you are skilled enough in trading, then you can give it a try. But when it comes to choosing whether trading or investing (in case you are alrady a skilled trader), it is entirely up to you. No one would decide for you but yourself. Your money, your choice.

You know everyone aims to invest and trade bitcoin at the same time. Because if you engage in both, you will achieve financial freedom faster than what you expected. But everything is not easily done because both requires good preparation not just on your funds but also when it comes to acquiring knowledge and skills, and honing them so you will be well-experienced in both aspects.  And once you decide to enter either in investing or trading, there's no way backing out because that will only mean you will incur losses if you do. However, everything depends on your preferences on which you find easier to be in profits. But most of the time, investing is the people's first option and when they started to yield profits and maximize their investment, that's when they decide to take risk in trading. Trading demands a higher risk so you really have to prepare yourself twice the effort from investing alone.

To be honest, if you want to make a lot of money, you should consider trading. However, because the risk is so large, trading is not a simple way to make money. If you don't have an edge in trading and you push yourself to trade, you'll most likely lose money. Trading takes time and money before you can be profitable, whereas investing only requires you to buy and wait for the price to rise to the desired level. Personally, I am still learning to trade in order to become a profitable trader in the future but always looking forward for investment.

As you have said, both investing and trading involve risks, but trading involves a higher risk than investing. From your write-up, I understand that you already know that trading has a higher risk than investing, and with that, you should know that investing should be the best option, especially for newbies, because trading requires a lot of knowledge, and I believe that newbies will not get the required knowledge of trading. That is why I will advise any newbies not to choose trading over investing when they are just new to cryptocurrency.

And when we look at investing, especially in bitcoin, someone just needs to buy, hold, and provide it with strong security. Even with basic knowledge, someone can do that, but in trading, nothing like that happens when you try to trade without proper knowledge. With help from technical analysis, someone will likely lose money, and the fact is that even those with proper knowledge of trading sometimes also lose money because of the high risks it involves. Op I am not discouraging trading, but the truth is that trading is not for newbies.

As for me, I have mentioned it several times here in this forum that if we know ourselves that when we don't know anything about crypto trading, we shouldn't try to do something we don't know how to do, so to speak, don't attack a battle you are not prepared for; no training is done for the battle, because for sure you will lose in the end. Now, if you really want to try it, you can do it while you learn it, but it's better to put your capital first in investment, not trading.

In terms of profits between trading and holding, it is difficult to say which will bring greater profits because as you have seen, many people get rich by holding, but very few traders get rich. People who like to trade are mostly people who like to make profits in the short term, there is no guarantee that trading will bring better profits than holding because no one can win forever in trading. It all depends on your abilities, if you have good knowledge and skills you will make a lot of profits in trading. On the contrary, you will not earn anything from trading if you are not suitable for it.

If they are newbies, they should avoid trading when starting, they will lose money because they do not have experience and knowledge, investing will be more suitable for them. But if someone has knowledge about the market and wants to try trading, they can also start because it is also one of the methods of making profits in this market.

There are many people who have been making profits from trading, it is not as bad as many people have experienced. So, I find it quite funny that many people don't like trading just because they can't make a profit from it. What's worse is that they are giving advice to others to stay away from trading just because they are not making profits. They think everyone will be like them, LOL.

Actually, if beginners want to trade, that's okay, but they have to learn how to trade properly and correctly. Most beginners rely on information from their friends who often trade, even though that doesn't guarantee they can make a profit.
But if they can learn trading analysis, they can trade according to their abilities and also the more often they learn they can adapt to what is happening in the market.

Those who stay away from trading because they often experience losses should be able to realize that trading is not as easy as they think. They must have good market analysis skills so they can find the coins.
Or if they want to trade bitcoin, they need to be able to know when they can enter and exit the market.

But trading can bring quick profits and that is also the reason why some people will continue to trade instead of investing. To be fair, trading will be more risky, but if you stick with it and once you gain experience and skills, then you can make profits from it, and the profits are even higher than holding. But to do that is not easy and not many people can do it, so many people think that trading is not for everyone.

Trading or investing both have their own benefits and disadvantages, IMO. I don't think one is better than the other, the important thing is to choose which one you like. If you are passionate and confident in your trading abilities, you should not give up just because of what people say. Or you can combine both to create more optimal profits, I see many people doing that.

The first quote above is the answer to your question, and ironically, it was also written by you within the same post, which makes me wonder why you are still asking this question when you already know the answer to it.

Whether you should trade or invest in Bitcoin depends on your financial needs and goals, and it should be based on your personal preference since you already have enough knowledge about the subject, you should know the pros and cons of both investments and short-term trades. However, one thing is for sure, most people use Bitcoin for long-term trades and altcoins for short-term trades.

I'm not misleading him because $100 a month in current market levels is better than nothing and if OP continues doing that for many months then he'll accumulate enough Bitcoin which can give him enough profits if he can hold those Bitcoin for some years. The current price of Bitcoin is in $33.5k to $34k range and if it gets a dip then it will revert back to $32k and even if Bitcoin crosses $50k then still OP will make enough profits by accumulating Bitcoin each month. The expected price of Bitcoin is going to be above $1M in future and some predict that it would reach $5M to $10M a single Bitcoin and if that prediction becomes a reality then OP will have huge profits from his investment.

Bitcoin investment is better for the ones who have less capital because trading requires you to have enough capital in order to make good profits and trading isn't always profitable because most of the times new traders fall into the trap of their emotions and instead of earning profits they empty up their account's balance. In bull run only those traders will make money who know trading deeply and have made their successful trading strategies, the newbie traders will lose instead of making any profits. That's why I recommend the OP to go with the investment route instead of trading route.

'
I can say that both a good things to do but I don't think trading is beginner-friendly since it requires knowledge and at least minimum experience, I suggest that before you enter trading you should know how to act and how to control intense emotions, you should create a comprehensive trading plan, and lastly never stop learning. Investing in bitcoin usually means buying BTC for long-term holdings while trading is buying and selling the bitcoin in the short term whenever they think a profit can be made. if you want to be successful at trading, you’ll have to put in a significant amount of time and money to acquire the relevant skills, just like any other venture.

In my opinion, if newbies wants to start trading, I think starting with a demo account is better than jumping into trading with large amounts of money. Furthermore, when they start trading, they should get rid of the intention of wanting to make profits by trading, what they should aim for is knowledge and experience, and should even be willing to accept losses in exchange for experience. Honestly, I have never seen a newbie make a profit from trading and that is the price to pay to become a professional trader.

But those who have lost money in trading should not advise people to stay away from trading because not everyone is the same. Just because we can't do it doesn't mean others can't do it, we shouldn't discourage them or let them down when they first start.

You will do well in the subject in which you are more proficient. Or if you have both the skills and the ability then both investing and trading may be a good choice for you. Investing and trading are two different things. Those who invest are more or less trading. Generally investment is done in long term plan and if an investor wants to invest in long term plan then he must choose Bitcoin.

Investment is always better than any other business because investment is planned for long term and whenever investment is made in long term plan the chances of earning money after long time from investment increases a lot. Trading is like a business like in business buying and selling of goods, in the case of trading coins are bought at low price and sold at high price.
If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely choose investment.

Both are better if you already know how and understand the risks, but if you have capital that you don't use or don't use for other financial needs, you can use it for long-term investments because that's a little better than using it in trading. with a short term duration, although it won't get worse if you are able to manage it well and know how to apply strategies more appropriately. But for now I think it would be better for anyone to keep Bitcoin as a long-term investment because this month Bitcoin has also experienced a sharp increase in price.

Basically those who trade in Bitcoin must know how to invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is generally risky for those who are in a hurry and want to make a lot of profit in a short period of time. More or less all of us who are involved in bitcoin know that bitcoin is risky then if you trade bitcoin long term you will be successful. I am involved in bitcoin myself so I want to tell you if you want to trade bitcoin you need to be patient and trade long term. Of course, best of luck to you as you move forward with your Bitcoin trade.

There is no definitive answer to that question as the skills of each person are different, since there are persons that could make fantastic traders but horrible investors and the reverse is true as well, so do what suits you best and you will have greater chances to become profitable, however it is also important to mention that there are many people out there that do not have what is needed to do either one of those activities, and as such they need to stay away from them or they will lose whatever money they decide to invest in this market.

There's no need to choose if you are actually capable on doing them both. While investing is making us profitable, trading as well is giving us significant profits as long as we have the knowledge and skills that are required to meet successful trading. However, always remember that trading is more risky and is more susceptible to losses especially if you trade without enough experience in the trading market. That's the reason why most of us here decide to quit in trading and end up settling into investing. And for me that's still giving us an edge to make significant profits especially if you chose to prioritize bitcoin and hold it for long term without setting definite time when to sell and reap your profits.

Am surprised this question is asked because if one has a knowledge of cryptocurrency/Bitcoin, it automatically puts such a one in the space to do both, focus on one or don't do any at all.
Investment is in many forms, and one of them being trading too. If an earner decides to allocate a certain portion of their funds to trading on a given basis, it is an investment that would require both time, funds and tacit knowledge.
Another form of investment is trying to save or HoDL as fondly called here by using a  DCA strategy or any other quarterly or annual strategy that's most convenient over a duration.

~snip~
Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

In my opinion, both methods have their own risks and advantages. It depends on the person, which method they prefer. But personally I prefer to be the holder because it is safer and does not cause panic. All I need is time for the price of bitcoin to rise to a high price.

I'm not good at trading so I prefer holding bitcoin. However, for those who are experts in trading, maybe trading will be more profitable because we can get daily, weekly or monthly profits

Of course. It seems we have the same opinion. The level of difficulty will be more difficult for trading than holding. However, if we hold a small amount of Bitcoin, the profits we get will also be small. So in my opinion it would be better if we turned our small capital into trading so that we get weekly or monthly profits, so that the profits are more than holding. But keep in mind that if we have good knowledge about bitcoin, if not then it is better for us to save to buy bitcoin monthly from our monthly salary, it will be better

In theory, trading and holding Bitcoin looks easy, but in practice it is very difficult. It takes experience and patience so that the investment or trading we do produces profits

I guess OP is a newbie to the market because if you look at his profile, he is also new to our forum, and for this kind of question from a newbie, it wouldn't be surprising. Long-term investing or trading are all forms of investment aimed at generating profits and depending on each person's needs, they will choose the appropriate method or combine both. But if the OP is newbie, holding is better than trading, because as many people said above, trading is not easy, it is much more complicated and risky. Of course, he can also choose to trade, but things will be better when he has knowledge and experience, not now.

If you are someone who has the patience to wait and invest for the long term, then I suggest you to investing in Bitcoin and holding it for the long term, because I am sure that the price of Bitcoin will definitely continue to increase and will give you profits in the future, so you will not lose or be disappointed to invest in Bitcoin for the long term, therefore I suggest you to invest and DCA Bitcoin at this time, so that you will definitely get a lot of profit from investing in Bitcoin, because I think Bitcoin is a good investment for the long term.

How much the profits will depend on the capital. But both trading and investing in Bitcoin are surely profitable if they are done with the right way. Those traders who can be rich, they must be experienced and have good knowledge. So, they know how to trade with big capitals safely and take good profits. If they often get losses, they must be rich, right?  ;D

Actually, investing in Bitcoin is safer, especially if we plan the target considering 4 years cycle. We can buy Bitcoin as many as possible during the bearish season, then we plan to sell in the bullrun season. 2022-2023 is the time for buying and keeping, meanwhile 2024-2025 is the time for selling. It is much simple than we learn the tactics/strategies for trading.

Both are excellent methods for making money, but it is up to you to decide which one you want to participate in and give priority to. If I had to pick one, I would go with investment since I know I can handle my psychological mind for a long time, I don't like taking significant risks, and I want a more certain big profit in the future. These are the reasons why I will invest in bitcoin rather than trade, which can be extremely dangerous. When I wish to participate in a project, if the danger is too great for me to bear, I'd rather not try it than take the chance and hope for a large speculative profit to enhance the risk taken.

The choice is indeed dependent on the financial status and preference of the user.
Some can withstand the stress brought by trading, whereas, some are just happy waiting for the right time to sell.
But before you buy some for yourself, you need to assess if you do believe on this market, and the reasons why you are accumulating your stash.
Because if your reasonings are too weak, you can easily sell at a loss when fud comes.

A newbie can start learning trading with the guidance and tutoring of a good teacher, but if he learns everything on his own, it is not advisable. Personally, I still think it's better for newbies to start with holding.

In general, trading is not easy, even if you have the knowledge, there is no guarantee you will make a profit from it. But we should not advise others to stay away from it, let them try because each person will have their own talent.

If you want to trade you need to spend time studying and also you always need to stay behind the market, it could become an actual job ma very few people are good at it.

For individuals with significant expertise in trading, it appears they can consistently generate income on a daily basis or at least every three days through their trading endeavors, especially in the short term. So, what causes some people to believe that many individuals experience losses in trading and have to endure financial setbacks?

I, too, am among those who are not adept at short term trading, and in my opinion, this relates to one's level of experience.

In the realm of daily trading, we are constantly compelled to monitor the market and analyze candlestick patterns each day. Many techniques demand a significant amount of time to achieve accurate analyses. For seasoned traders, this remains the preferred choice. However, for newcomers just entering the world of crypto markets, it may be prudent to opt for long term investments.

Individuals who think that experienced traders always make money are greatly mistaken. Absolutely every trader, no matter how skilled, has lost money. That being said, why is there this common story about trade losses? Despite being very unexpected, the market doesnt have any allegiances. Markets are always changing, so trading, especially trading for a short time, is always a risk. One cant completely avoid risk, even if they have a lot of knowledge, experience, and tools for making predictions.

Regarding the steady alertness needed for daily trading, you bring up an important point. There are a lot of details and complexities that can be overwhelming for newbies. Although investing for the long term might seem better, its important to keep in mind that the crypto markets are still very new. Foremost are alertness, flexibility, and a deep knowledge of how markets work. Anytime you want to trade, not just for short periods of time.

As a newbie to trading, it is better to be mentally prepared and ready to accept losses than to think that you will make a profit. To become a professional trader, the first thing you need to do is trade losses for experience. Don't think that being knowledgeable and careful means you can easily make profits from trading. Trading is not as simple as holding.

How much money you can risk and how long you can stand , if you are here just to make your 10 dollars to 100 dollars in short term then better back off because that is not going to happen.
there is no instant millionaire here as even those Old timer took years before turning their thousand of dollars to million value.

Use bitcoin for trading and if not goes on your plan then keep them on hold because there is no losing if you are HODLER as long as you dedicate time for waiting.

but if your sole purpose is to make quick bucks then best to try altcoins as they are fast moving but if you can choose which is which.

Investing using dca and dip all hodl for 6-9 years.

100 a week for a year =5200

and have two or three ladder down buys for 1700 or 2600.

Do this for a few years then hodl for a few more years.

or do this for 9 years in a row and assess your stituation.

I wouldn't say that it depends but I would only recommend you to just invest instead of trading, unlike others who wants to say that it depends, they don't want to take responsibility. And with investing, I think that you're better off doing that compared to trading because it's safe and almost risk-free because you're in the bitcoin game for the long-term which is always a win no matter what happens in the short-term which is always unknown to the people and will always be volatile.

And with investing, I think that you're better off doing that compared to trading because it's safe and almost risk-free because you're in the bitcoin game for the long-term which is always a win no matter what happens in the short-term which is always unknown to the people and will always be volatile.

There's nothing wrong with people saying that it depends on the person, because there are people who want to make profits every day, so holding is clearly not suitable for them even though holding is safer.  this world is colorful, not everyone has the same thoughts as us, we should not impose our thoughts on others.  although trading has great risks, there are still people who make profits from it so it really depends on the person.

If anyone asks, I just point out the pros and cons of each method and let them choose for themselves, without directly giving advice, because we are all different.

That's what beginners should do before starting to trade. At least they have to start learning what is required in trading and understand it while learning to control their emotions while trading. This is what will usually have an impact on beginners in trading.
Continuing to learn is a way that beginners can master trading and now they have many sources that can help them learn trading.

They can invest in bitcoin instead of trading if they find it difficult to understand trading. That would be better for them because they wouldn't have to find out more details about when they can buy bitcoin. They can use the DCA method to invest in bitcoin.

Starting with a demo account while learning to trade is better because they practice what they learn.
But they can also start trading with small money to see the situation and find out how well they understand trading. If they can understand trading well, they will start making profits.
If they continue their learning, they can improve their analytical skills which will be useful for knowing market movements.

Those who have not been able to be lucky in trading should not be disappointed because they can continue to learn to improve what needs to be improved. There will come a time when they can make a profit and it's just a matter of time.

But how to learn to trade properly and correctly? It seems easy to say, but during the learning process, beginners will definitely be greedy and lead to wrong decisions.

It's easy to say ;D
They can search on the internet by typing the keywords they want. They will find many sites that can provide more information. If he could get a teacher, it would be easy for him to learn the trade.
But the problem is, not many people are willing to teach someone about trading in more detail.

Beginners are more suitable to start becoming investors because they don't need a lot of learning. But if they want to make a profit, they can learn about trading. Learning to trade is not easy, depending on each person's wishes.

I choose to invest in Bitcoin first because I realize that trading takes time to learn and the market condition doesn't wait for anyone, if you have your money sitting somewhere it's better to look into buying Bitcoin from time to time before 2025, you can always learn more about trading later.

It took a whole year to gain knowledge about crypto trading, I used to believe that it's impossible to know how to read chart but it's not that hard like I used to picture it, you can start using demo account for trading to understand how charts and buttons work, I believe this is the easiest part, the hard part starts from drawing line and using analysis, it could get confused at first.

Trading is something you can learn on your own but it will be harder, to make your journey faster you need a good teacher that's why I prefer to advice people into going for trading courses and buying trading tools, things aren't that hard as they used to, today you can spend money on tools that will show you when to buy and when to sell, most times they are accurate, if you can do your research right you will find them.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.
The answer is in yourself. Are your skills in investing or in trading? The only person who can answer the questions you ask is yourself. But of the many people I know, generally they have more ability to invest than trade. You also explained the investment and trading side correctly, you should have an answer that can be concluded. Both have good potential if they can be implemented correctly and the decision is of course in our own hands.

Personally, I prefer long-term investments because I don't need to monitor market movements all the time. If we want to achieve the target at what price, just wait until Bitcoin jumps to that price. Trading is not like that because you have to see the potential and always analyze the market and this is where the difficulty lies if we don't understand how.

In theory, trading and holding Bitcoin looks easy, but in practice it is very difficult. It takes experience and patience so that the investment or trading we do produces profits

When it comes to making money, nothing is easy. Those who are mature enough and no longer depend on their parents will understand how difficult it will be to make money. And that task becomes even more difficult when we make money by investing because investing not only has profits but also risks, the higher the profits, the higher the risks.
A volatile and unpredictable market, not to mention thousands of risks are lurking around us. Therefore, investing in bitcoin is really not easy.

Investing seems to be a good choice for those who are just about to start knowing about crypto. Trading is another level of making money as it needs a wide market understanding and a high level of TA. As we know, a lot of people tried to do this but unfortunately, only a few of them became successful and this is because trading is not for everyone, the same thing as investing.

Either of the two, we choose the field where we think that suits us and we think that we never regret it later.

Investing in Bitcoin, in my view, is the way to go for most folks. It's a long-term play that holds the promise of substantial returns over time, unlike the riskier short-term trading of Bitcoin.
Here's why I'm all in on Bitcoin investment:
1.   Solid Foundation: Bitcoin's scarcity, with a limited supply, provides a robust basis for its value.
2.   Decentralization: Being free from government or financial institution control makes Bitcoin a hedge against economic uncertainties.
3.   Global Convenience: Bitcoin's accessibility and liquidity worldwide make it a hassle-free investment.
4.   Growing Demand: With a rapidly expanding user base, Bitcoin's adoption is on the rise, driving up its demand and price.
Sure, there are risks, given Bitcoin's volatility, but the long-term potential it offers clearly outweighs those concerns. If you have any questions you can contact me via my Discord: https://discord.gg/WyUZV2uP

Cryptocurrency is risky, before anticipating in the system, we already know what we're signing up for. Investing and trading are complicated, but with appropriate tools, everything will definitely become easy for one to understand. Investing is probably for newbies and those that doesn't have enough time to stay active on live charts for trading. They thoroughly scout out a prominent crypto project and invest in it, it can be for short-term or long-term depending on their initial motives and capital. However when it comes to trading, it involves stress, technical and fundamental analysis to be practically skilled inother to executes good plans on the market.

You wrote very well, but I'd like to emphasize one critical aspect that is essential for both investors and traders – mindset/psychology. In my view, this is the linchpin of success, with about 95% of it reliant on mindset and only 5% on strategy.

As someone who has been actively trading and investing for nearly seven years, I've experienced my fair share of ups and downs. What I've discovered is that psychology plays the most crucial role in achieving success. It involves saturating your mind with the knowledge, experiences, and aspirations related to your goals.

My journey in trading was initially marked by high levels of stress. However, I managed to transform my performance when I learned to control my emotions, improve my lifestyle, maintain a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and more.

On the other hand, investing felt more manageable for me because I could exercise patience and avoid the impulsive actions that often accompany trading.

In my opinion, many traders also have an investor side to them, and conversely, most investors do not actively engage in trading.

Trading involves your knowledge of the cryptocurrency market, and you have to learn how to master a certain trading pattern that will favour you, hence you need a mentor to guide you and put you through so you won't blow your trading account from the beginning.

While investment, has a lot to do with your patience and also knowing when to buy if the rates are low, and hold for a long time till their is a return in investment, so you could earn good profit at the end of the day.
So both of them, have advantages and disadvantages, so it depending on which side of the divide that best suits your interest.

It's better to HODL then trade so investing is the answer to your question. It doesn't matter how good you're at trading, the risk associated with trading Bitcoin makes investing the better option here. Investing in Bitcoin brings about peace of mind and no need to keep on monitoring the market but as a trader you have to be keeping tabs on the market through news or you'll be left behind. The hodlers are the most profitable people in the industry as the reward for holding without having to put yourself under any market stress makes it perfect.

You're not wrong for saying both ways are profitable because they're actually but as a trader you stand a higher risk of losing your Bitcoin because of various reasons, you're one mistakes away from losing. Lots of traders make use of CEX because they're more convenient than the DEX which puts their bitcoins at the risk of been lost due to hacks on CEX exchange.

When you're trading, you're actively in the market and connected to the internet which has it's risk as well but when investing you're Bitcoin aren't in a position that they're constantly connected to the internet and you can invest in various ways that doesn't break your banks through DCA and at the end of the investment you get your profits.

It all comes down to the individual preferences and skills. One can exceed in investing but fail to succeed in trading, or the vice versa, or one can do both because he's capable to succeed from investing and trading. And I think a lot of us here are taking risks in both endeavors.

However, due to the fact that trading offers bigger and quick profits than investing, people decide to learn to trade because they believe that it can be done easily as long as knowledge, skills and experience are present.  But when you're already in live trading, you will realize that skills are not enough. You need to have more control of your emotions for you not to end up with wrong decisions, otherwise your trades will end up being screwed. That's the reason why majority still end up focusing more in investing than trading because its certainly less risky and stress free.

There is nothing wrong with either because they are both good options, it's just that when it comes to investing and trading, we should already know the difference and with that we can also choose the option that is good for us.
For those who do have high adrenaline, trading is definitely one of the options chosen especially when they have mastered some analytical techniques that they do.
But for me and this is also a good advice if we don't have that qualification then it would be better to be in investment because this will be very profitable and minimise the risk because after all investment will be more profitable than trading.
Not that trading is bad but when we fall in trading then the risk consequences will be much greater which in fact this can harm yourself so it would be better if you are in Investment especially if you are a beginner who still does not know the ins and outs of bitcoin completely then it would be better to be in investment.
Even though the risk is still quite the same but at least investment has less risk than trading.

It's much better if you do both if you'll ask me. Having tried both trading and investing, they are fairly equal in terms of overall yields, one can just be tweaked into being more on the short-term which is trading, and the other you really need to do the long haul if you want to grab a massive bag. Although skill-level wise, I'd say holding/investing in bitcoin is much easier and safer to execute than actually going for trades and all that stuff. For one, it's easy to lose your money in trading and not know why it happened. In investing there's only two outcomes, and you know why both will happen.

If you're a beginner in the crypto industry, I suggest investing before trying to do trading, it's safer and much easier than the latter, start trading after gathering enough info about it. Don't rush in blindly.

The choice between investing in bitcoin or trading it depends on your financial situation. If your finances are unstable, investing is better due to the potential increase in future bitcoin prices. However, if your financial situation is independent and you need daily passive income, trading is more suitable. If you have a stable income source, such as a salary from a job, investing in the long term is more beneficial.
In all senses of thought, Bitcoin investment will always be better than Bitcoin trading as the risk is not such that would eventually cause you to lose all your money in the long run. I can't say this for Bitcoin trading as it's such that could cause anyone to lose their money in a seating, which is not a bargain that would afford one another a chance to recover the way Bitcoin investment would allow it. Even if the investor loses when the market is not favourable, the market always goes back and profits over time with patience.

I say this out of experience and I can say boldly that trading is not easy, it's such that could cause anyone to believe that they can make money but in the end, they lose all their money over and over again.

It all depends on your own preferences. Investing and trading are still different and that trading involves higher risk than investing alone. However, trading profits are bigger and faster than investing itself that's why no matter how hard trading is, a lot of people would still want to die hard learning in trading because its promising profits are life changing. But that does not mean that trading is bound to secure us consistent profits. Even professional traders still lose in trading at some point.

However, both investing and trading are profitable in it's own way. As long as you have the skills and strategies that suit in trading or investing, then you can consider it as another side hustle that will provide you a decent income but only not in a consistent basis.

Investing is long-term and involves low risk

First, simply investing isn't "low risk" but rather involves lower risk when compared to trading. However, both of them work just fine. One main advantage of simply investing rather than trading is that you don't need any special knowledge, all you need to do is make the purchase. But on the other hand, not only do you need to have knowledge of trading, you have to be good at it and be able to make your own call. So, if you have the knowledge to trade, give it a shot to see how good you are. If it's not so good, you can learn more or stick to simply investing.

Aside from knowledge of trading, you also need to have more experience. Even if you have enough knowledge, you can't simply gain profit by only that.
But yes, if he's unsure what to choose between trading or investing, give it a try to experience what he prefers. Once he tries, he will know what is better for him.

There are many things that we have to prepare before starting to trade so that we can get profits from the trades that we make. By having the knowledge, we can already try to trade, but if we are just starting out, it would be better if we can try with a little capital so that if we get problems in trading that we do can still be fixed and if we have a lot of experience with little capital and we can try it with the savings we have.

There is really no comparison between trading and investing. He will do what he likes and what is safe for him. Investors don't just invest in spare time they trade in different coins and those who are professional traders not only read about trading but also make big investments by understanding opportunities. The investment is fine for those who like to take risks and have the patience to invest their money in a coin for a long period of time. People who want to trade with small capital and those who do not have capital to keep money for a long time usually take up trading. Ask yourself this question about OP investing and trading and hopefully you will get the right answer.

Investing and trading will both have pros and cons and we need to compare to choose the best one for ourselves, don't listen to anyone because they are not us, they don't know what we think, don't know what we need...Everyone's thinking is different, why do we follow what others say when we don't like it?

During earn profit trough trading and investing I don't think required comparison both kinds to earn profit in cryptocurrency, each way between trading and investing have advantage and disadvantage depend on financial condition. For huge amount and they have much passive income from another way will prefer investing than trading but its not profitable position for trader with small fund and short term trading is the best way how to earn profit consistency in daily day.
I think OP have got several answer and depend his financial condition, huge capital he will priority with long term investment but if his position with small fund and as possibility earn profit every day he will prefer with trading and forget about investing until he has much money and ability to be long term investment.

For anyone, trading is not easy, even a professional can lose because of trading with predictions that are not appropriate.
This is about how to carry out good management and the right strategy. Without these two, trading will not run well.
Long-term investment is always an option for some people. But of course it requires a lot of patience and capital resilience when the market is bearish and prices fall from the first purchase price. Don't lose long term investments due to panic, just leave it as long as you hold Bitcoin or top altcoin, it will rise eventually and provide profits.

Yes investing is always the best because just like you said Bitcoin price could be very volatile in times of price movement which makes it very risky to trade Bitcoin because the chances of making profit is not certain.

However weather to invest or to trade is totally depends on the individual desire, so if they feel trading is much better for them they should go ahead, although irrespective of the risk that may be involve on trading I believe there are people who benefit from trading.

So for me I prefer investing and holding for long because the only way I can really see the potential of Bitcoin is by holding and not just that but holding enables me to have a relaxed mind and comfort without the panic of thinking if the Bitcoin price is going against me.

Which one is better depends on how far your level of knowledge about investing or trading bitcoin. We have our own preference on what's the better thing to do based on our comfort zone, the mentioned knowledge, skills, interests, and if we are really serious about pushing either investing or trading.

Either investing or trading:

- What are the things you consider doing or planning? Create a structure.
- How well is your knowledge about it? Study all the necessary things from basic to advanced.
- Are you serious about doing these or have you just seen someone make a profit big here? Be inspired.

Everything depends on the person involved. Whether he's a person who have got the ability to take risk or want to be on the safer side. Different parameters need to be considered before coming to a conclusion. Based on my understanding trading is much concerned about the short term profit making and have high risk whereas investing is long term focused and the risks were low.

At times trading also looks like gambling when you don't have the knowledge and get into it. Investing is not as that you analyse the right asset and hold it longer. Trading with good knowledge brings better profit than waiting longer for the profit out of investment. This means the trader might make 25% profit every month whereas the investor makes 25% profit in a year. Based on the profiting will be the risk associated.

It can be done the same way. For instance, if I were a long-term investment in Bitcoin, the goal would be to sell it in two to three years. Can't I practice trading in Bitcoin while I'm waiting?

Naturally, as I learn more about Bitcoin, I can gradually use it through real-world trading to learn how to succeed in the trading sector. I believe that when a person wants to undertake anything out of curiosity, their mind changes.

Since you are a newbie, you may not have much knowledge about investing in bitcoin and trading. My advice is that you start with bitcoin investment to minimize your risk because if you don't get better knowledge on trading, you will be losing money because trading is not like investing where you can leave it for a long time and profit if the market goes well, but trading is good too if you get knowledge on it, You should obtain a mentor to help you gain experience in trading gives rapid money and you can lose at any time because even professionals lose in trading sometimes, but it is up to you to choose which one you want to go with because both are good and each has their own risks, If you want to enjoy them both go learn about them, understand the risks involved, and hire an assistant when you want to start trading or investing so that you will know when you can invest because investors succeed from the professional and there efforts.

Holding doesn't require much complicated knowledge but that doesn't mean you don't need knowledge. How can you buy and have enough confidence to hold bitcoin long term until it makes a profit if you have no knowledge? Trust and patience are two important and necessary things to be able to hold bitcoin long termm and to have those two things you need knowledge about bitcoin. And for a newbie like OP, I also think investing will be more suitable for him than trading even though trading will bring better profits.

Both are equally profitable and depending on your skills, if you are comfortable or like taking risks and have reliable skills and the ability to monitor the market regularly or continuously, trading may be the right strategy for you.
And if you want to do it casually, involved with Bitcoin and with little risk, then investing is the right choice for you. Because you only need to buy low, sell high or do DCA. And both are done for the long term with patience, until you really get maximum profit and sell it.

It's indeed that holding doesn't require more effort as you only need knowledge whenever you will exit the market to get profit. For trading you would need to have analyzation, skills and always checking the market. You would also apply emotional and metal ability in order for you to have proper calls and get profits as well. But holding doesn't mean you would only hold it, it's like you're keeping a treasure not knowing the steps and what to do with it, so you really need knowledge as well in long term investment. Thing is in long term, by the word itself "long", you would require a lot of patience and consistency for you achieve your financial goal cause quick profits will go to trading. Trading is really complicated which is not recommendable to newbie unless he already have the knowledge and experience.

I think it's important to do both. When you actively trade Bitcoin (even by using not a lot of money) you stay in the market, feel what's going on and don't lose your skills. However, I prefer to use the biggest part of capital for investments (middle term and long term), but it doesn't mean that I can't or I shouldn't trade it. Trading gives you possibility to "stay in the market", what is important if you make Bitcoin an important part of your life.

So conclusion is next. Do both, create your own ration of capital (which % of money goes to "for trading" and which "for investments") and keep going. I a few times fell out from the market (but continued holding) and as a result it was difficult for me to return to feeling of the market and its waves (but if you again ready to spend a few weeks for active involving yourself to market, you will get back on track).

P.S. When market was extremely flat I used just $100 to make trades. I didn't have purpose to make profit, I wanted simply not lose feeling of the market, what was easy to do, when you hold biggest part of crypto capital for future :)

These two options are indeed ways to get benefits from what we choose, but if we can do both of these things we will certainly be able to get benefits from what we do and if we are not able to do both of these things, it would be better for us to use just one method to get a profit from the investment we make. Before trading, we must have mastered it well in order to avoid losses that might occur in the trades we carry out and if we choose to hold and hold it for a long period of time, of course the capital we use must come from a source that we will not disturb we can achieve the targets we have set.

If I'm the type of investor who doesn't want stress and hassle, I'll choose investing. I have nothing to do but wait for the right time to sell bitcoin or cryptocurrency. But of course, that still depends on your decision.

None of us here can dictate to you what you should do with your question. Because in the first place, you should know yourself: what kind of trader are you? Are you a long-term trader or a short-term trader?

I will not recommend Butcoin trading to anyone considering how risking and technical it is. Before talking about Bitcoin trading, have you thought about the huge knowledge requirements? Have you done the needed psychological work on yourself to help you manage risk,  emotions, losses and money management in general? Trading is not something a newcomer should jump into because the risk is simply just too high. Unlike trading, investment in BItcoin does not really require much to start. Just the right mindset and ability to hold and overcome FOMO and you will make money so easily grom Bitcoin.

You are right, that Bitcoin trading is not easy thing and especially for beginners. But in my reply I mentioned that everyone can try himself in trading by using small amounts of money (let's say not more than 1-5% of capital). The purpose of that action is to gain some experience through practice. By the way, trading also might be divided into a few categories (like intraday, swing etc; or trading on the spot market or on the derivatives). For newcomers is important not to be afraid of practice. Yes, on the beginning of trading they might lose some money, but if they follow my advice (using small % of capital) they will buy very important experience that will pay off in the future.

P.S. One more advice for not experienced traders: always use small % of your capital for things that are new for you (new strategies or when you switch from spot trading to derivatives etc.). And remember that trading is more risky than investments, therefore you definitely need to have some % of capital in long term investments (that will help to cover short term loses in long term).

And yes, adultcrypto, you are right when saying "Before talking about Bitcoin trading, have you thought about the huge knowledge requirements?". I really didn't write much about this moment, my bad, next time will take into account. But my answer still makes sense and can be useful, I think so.

When we consider to investing in Bitcoin, both a financially sound  and a poor person can invest. But in this case, long-term investment must be considered. An affluent person may benefit from long term or short term investment or profit through trading. But even an indigent person can benefit if he invests for long term following DCA. The risk in trading is high while the risk in long term investment is low. Any decision can be taken considering the financial condition of the investor. All things considered we can conclude that long term investing is definitely better than trading.

The both strategies has high profit potential provided they’re done at the right time. For you to invest or trade you must have the understanding of the volatile market for to trade or invest if not you will run into loss, though there are functions that gives you opportunity to now trade even without much understanding of the volatile market, the only thing you’re required to do is just to copy trade from professionals and you will set your stop loss and take profit, there are few exchanges with this feature, exchange like Bitget has it and it has helped newbies in making profit a lot.

Many people say holding is simple but I believe it will only be simple when we compare it with trading, it is not simple at all. Holding an asset for 3 to 4 years is not simple if we do not have enough faith and perseverance. Buying is something anyone can do, but holding for the long term is something not many people can do, which is why so many people sell during bear markets. And those people mostly don't have enough faith and patience.

There are several reasons why some people sell when market conditions are bearish, maybe they are afraid of a continued decline or maybe the need is urgent so there is no other way but to sell the assets they own.
Therefore, when investing, there are many things that must be paid attention to, including the money used for investment, which cannot be done haphazardly, besides knowledge about what we are investing in, it is also very important.

I don't think that hoding is an easy thing, and I think that holding and trading are the same, only carried out in different ways and with different risks and in my opinion there is no better or vice versa because it all comes back to the knowledge that we apply in carrying it out, the possibilities and risks are quite comparable between the two.

Investing is always more profitable. This has worked even in case of mutual funds. Many people try to do trading because they think they will make more that way but after few days they will realize that overall this is loss. Same applies to Bitcoin trade and invest. Those who are trading will think that they can make a lot of money because of frequent movements. But the long term investors make more money.

There is nothing like a right time or perfect timing when it comes to trading Bitcoin.  Nobody knows what the price will do tomorrow, next week, next month or next month. Traders make use of speculated/predicted prices to trade Bitcoin and that is why most of them make huge loses while trading. Bitcoin is very volatile and trading Bitcoin is gambling. It is not advisable to trade Bitcoin instead of Investing in it.

When you have good knowledge and understand how Bitcoin works you will very relaxed holding it for a few long or a few years, and you have no point looking at the price of everyday because by then you have high trust in the revolutionary features of Bitcoin and the potential of its price in the future. The reason why people go into trading or sell their Bitcoin for worthless fiat when ever it increase x amount or fear and sell it when it goes down is because they lack the knowledge and understanding of Bitcoin.

Every investment has different risks, If you trade short term, you must have the ability to read market movements or this is usually done by traders by taking smaller but more frequent profits. Even reliable traders can experience losses,

Personally I prefer long term investments because there are many factors that must be considered, if I choose short term, in the morning I have to work as a private employee, and after coming home my energy is quite drained in the morning, I am more Choose buy then hold until the target price is reached then sell. This investment carries much less risk

There have been many threads discussing this and many people also point out that bitcoin trading is not gambling. It seems like you can't make money from trading and people around you have also failed in trading so you have a pretty negative view of it. I am also making money from trading although the profits are not too big and not regular because I only use a small amount of capital and the traders I know even consider it their main income. So it can be said that trading has a lot of risks, but there are still people who know how to take advantage of it and make money from it, not everyone loses money when trading bitcoin. Bitcoin trading is not gambling.

Both holding and trading involve buying and owning an asset but the key difference lies in the duration of ownership. If you are new to Bitcoin, it is advisable to consider holding it for a longer period of time as opposed to engaging in short-term trading. This means you should purchase Bitcoin at a good entry price and hold on to it for some time. This strategy is better than short-term trading even experienced traders sometimes fail to profit due to the high volatility of Bitcoin prices.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

In my opinion, investing in Bitcoin is much safer than trading which sometimes takes more time because you have to regularly learn about the market, whereas investing in Bitcoin has definitely been profitable for investors so far, for example, if you bought Bitcoin five years ago you are still in a profitable position right now, if you buy it today then in a few years it will still give you a profit, but it all depends on your individual preferences. If you like trading because of the big challenges and risks which will also give you big profits then investing will seem boring because you only need to buy then store it well for a certain target time and sell it at the expected profit, and what's better is what you like, not based on what other people like.

If you're a beginner in the crypto industry, I suggest investing before trying to do trading, it's safer and much easier than the latter, start trading after gathering enough info about it. Don't rush in blindly.
Yes, your opinion makes some sense that bitcoin investment is a better suggestion between bitcoin trading or bitcoin investment for a newbie. Because, as a newbie, these people do not have as much exposure as required. And obviously, if seen in reality, trading requires more effort and knowledge than Bitcoin investment. It means you have to monitor everything, including technical analysis and fundamental analysis, as well as choosing the destination for trading; that's the exchange I chose to pick up and whether it's safe or not in terms of privacy and security. While you don't have to put much more effort into everything for a Bitcoin investment, you can get a good result just by taking a few steps. Because there is no doubt that the long-term sentiment of Bitcoin is bullish and that it is rising in price with the passage of time.

And in the end, I would like to add one thing: I am of the opinion that we should not emphasize one of these two (bitcoin trading or investment). Everyone has their own opinions, and as much knowledge as they have, in this part, they pick and choose which is better for me: investment or trading.

Buying bitcoin and keeping it to get profit and trading bitcoin to get profits are both exclusive and need careful attention.

To hold, you need to,understand when to buy and when you successfully buy, you also need a good wallet to keep it, don't keep a single dollar worth of your bitcoin on the exchange because we have heard stories of how exchange run off with customers money and also seize their funds. After moving everything to your wallet, the next thing you need is patient, this part is very necessary because when you hold, you will see how the price fluctuate and if you have weak mind, you will chicken out and sell everything at loss.

To be a trader, you need to first gain th knowledge of trading, even if you don't go far, you need the basic intellect of trading and then you can start trading but don't use your money, test it first with a demo account to see how you have mastered training. You can continue to do that until you master everything and become a legend in trading.

Sure. The goal why most people do day trade is for gaining profits constantly although it is not a big profit. That's true, traders must have the ability to understand the market situation and can take the advantage in each market situation. Traders must master both technical and fundamental skills. If they have no these abilities, it is difficult to understand the market situation.

Personally I prefer long term investments because there are many factors that must be considered
What factors do you mean?
Generally, people prefer to choose a long term holding because they don't want to feel confused about the price volatility. The price can change significantly in a short time, people must always check the market situation. But if people hold Bitcoin for a long term target, they only need to wait for the time for selling. Commonly, people will wait for 4 years, it is because the bullrun season will return every 4 years.

If you have the skills and knowledge then go with trading, but if you just want to secure your money and have a low risk then go with investment or go for a long term.
For me it all depends on your knowledge and skills, you can't just go and jump into trading if you don't have knowledge on it, you would just risk your money.

The answer depends on your preference, each provides commensurate returns. We know that trading requires more complex strategies and takes more time. If you want to get started, some things you need to prepare include:

- Trading: technical and fundamental analysis, mental/psychological training.
- Investments: How to secure assets and maintain privacy.

noorman0 is right.

These are the skills you need for each. Investing and holding is easier, and you should find success over a 4+ year timeframe. Trading is a lot more difficult. Not only will you need the skills mentioned, but additionally you need experience. No matter how much information you take in from books, guides, videos etc. about trading, you will need experience before you can grow that skill. Experience generally means losing, as well as winning. It's a risky endeavour but it can be lucrative if you are disciplined.

Whether you are an investor or a trader depends on your financial needs and investment goals. Investing is long-term and involves low risk, while trading is short-term and involves high risk. Both methods can be profitable if the right strategy is adopted.
Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

The fact is that there is only one truly correct way to increase your capital in Bitcoin and dollars. I came to this method after more than many years of trading, and now I will share it with you. You need to invest half of your funds in Bitcoin and half in USDT. And when Bitcoin falls to a local minimum, you need to buy it by giving it to USDT. And vice versa - if the rate has increased, then you need to sell some of the bitcoins, and the higher the price, the more you need to sell. But when the price comes back, you need to try to reduce the deposit to 50 percent BTS and 50 percent USDT. And so, maneuvering between values, you will accumulate both a share in BTC and a share in dollars.

I do both, because investing is an excellent option to make a better investment, it is better than investing in real estate, or any business, but based on what I can do, I always put money in to see if I can trade. , but a very long-term trade, I buy 3mBTC today and I hope it goes up a lot so that I can transfer it to USD, only if it goes up, otherwise I'll leave it there until it goes up, but it's not my thing, and that's like an investment , because trading for me is doing it in the short term, in 1 mnutps in 5 mintuops that for me is trading, the rest is a long-term investment, those who know how to do tading are something else.

OP, you have already said that both are profitable; yeah, they are, but trading puts you at risk of losing your money if the market goes against your direction, while investing always keeps your money intact while you wait for the bull market to set in. There's one thing that can enable you to engage in trading and investing at once, and that is your financial state (your financial capabilities). If you have so much money to play around with in the market for some short-term profit, you can ingage in trading while also investing some funds in Bitcoin that are held in your cold storage. There are some traders who trade and make profit, but they usually do experience losses too because it's one characteristic of trading, but holders don't lose unless they sell cheap. The difference is clear.

Both have benefits, but I believe investing in bitcoin is a better option for me than trading it. Trading is also beneficial, but it requires more knowledge before you can engage in it. Since I don't know much about trading, even though I've seen many others try, I've concluded that it's not something I should do. While both trading and investing in bitcoin carry some risk, I believe that trading carries a greater risk than investing. While investing in bitcoin can provide you with peace of mind and allow you to know exactly how much bitcoin you own, trading is extremely dangerous and can result in losses at any time.

I'm not saying this to discourage people from trading bitcoin; rather, I'm saying it based on my observations and the experiences of many new members of this forum. I was surprised to see a new member ask how to learn how to trade bitcoin in the forum, as I assumed that before asking so many questions about it, a newbie would know better than to ask such a question. In any case, trading bitcoin is not inherently bad, but it's not a good idea for a new member to do so.

There is no doubt that both investing and trading in bitcoin have their own risks and benefits. A common point of view is that trading is riskier and needs more elaborate knowledge. Investing, on the other hand, is seen as a safer, if slower, way to get rich. Yes, investing, accumulating, investing. Your point about the higher risks of trading and the need to be careful is very smart.

I'd like to press you on one more point, though: I find it strange that new members ask for trading tips. Shouldnt forums be welcoming spaces for questions and learning? Assuming that a newcomer should naturally know more goes against the whole point of sharing information with others. The world of crypto is complicated and big, so no question should be seen as too early or not necessary.

But the greater the risk, the higher the chance of receiving profit, so trading also has outstanding advantages compared to investing. But trading is extremely difficult and not too many people can make money from trading so most people will choose long-term investing rather than trading. But that doesn't mean we're saying that trading is meaningless as some people say. For me, trading and investing are both profitable methods and it will depend on each person's choice. We should not criticize trading because we are investors and vice versa, we should respect each other.

Yeah actually you are very correct because irrespective of how we feel trading is very profitable we should also consider the factor that could make it work which is knowledge, because unlike investment, knowledge is what defines every good traders because the need to understand the fundamental and technical analysis of the market is very important.

So just like you said one of the factors that should be consider is the risk involved on trading because in as much as there is a very high chance of making money from trading there is also a high chance of blowing your trading account.

Perhaps that's why is always advice able for beginners who doesn't have much knowledge about trading to consider learning and being knowledgeable enough before venturing into trading because trading is so complex that no matter how experienced you are on trading the possibility of losing trade sometimes is certain.

However for me I prefer investment instead if trading because I have no much knowledge about it, so with investment you are free from emotional panic we feel seeing our trading going against our direction so the best way to have a rest of mind is investment.

If you plan to invest and trade in Bitcoins, it is important to consider your own goals and risk tolerance. Investing is long-term and has a lower risk tendency, while trading is short-term and involves higher risk. Both approaches can be profitable if the right strategy is followed. It might make sense to start with a mix of both and adjust your strategy over time.

As a newbie with zero idea or knowledge of trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency the best bet is to invest in Bitcoin, however you should also take into consideration the best and perfect period to invest in it by avoiding buying at the peak else you may ended up hodling your coin for a very long period of time to breakeven, meanwhile in the past few months the price of Bitcoin was around $16K+ which was a perfect period to buy and accumulate now it price is above $34K a massive 100% rise thus it's a long term investment with a guaranteed profit unlike trading which might lead to a massive loss if you are not well skilled and have a wide range of trading experience though trading might provide a short term profit, however the risk in it is second to none judging from personal experience.

Trading bitcoin in bear season is definitely not among the plans, it's very risky and traders tend to lose quite significant amounts of money. For illustration, one can be 100% confident of a trade after mapping Technical and Fundamental analysis, and at the end of the day, the market doesn't go as plan. I would choose investing because it's stress-free and we creates more time to anticipate in promising projects other than settling for lesser results. Investment have saved me countless times from liquidating my account with bitcoin trading, the earlier one understand how the market operates, the better and reduced ratio of losses.

There are also people who have had success with it, trading is not completely bad for us to stay away from it. Trading can be profitable but imo it's still a risky venture. Historically, it's better to hold BTC, only holders would be reaping huge profits from BTC price appreciation right now provided they kept their wallets secure.

Also, investment & holding doesn't require much knowledge except security whereas if you don't know what you are doing in trading, you lose, also it has third party risks such as exchange holding your money.

Trading never worked for me, so I prefer holding BTC and swapping it into stable coins when it feels like it's significantly down and I know it will go back up. Never ever hold alts (may be except few prominent coins like Ethereum), you will become a bag holder.

Have tried using Bitcoin as trading tools when the volatility seems to be going meaning when the market completely goes up and down but i doubt that will do that again because instead of trading , I will keep them holding for better result .

and instead of using bitcoin , i will use altcoins instead because they are fast moving(but fast dropping also)
since you already knew the risk then I think you are good to go and choose which one to use , but my advise still stand to HOLD and not to trade.

Invest in Bitcoin long term with the money you want to grow long term.

And if you have money you want to use for generating income in the short term use that for trading. Only trade from the end of the bear market to early in the bull market, meaning this cycle 2023, 2024, and early 2025.

It's a common question: should you invest or trade Bitcoin? On the surface, the answer seems simple: investing is for the long term, and trading is for the short term. But there's more to the answer than that. In this article, we'll explore the pros and cons of both approaches, to help you decide which is right for you.
Investing   Bitcoin: Pros and Cons
- The biggest pro of investing in Bitcoin is the potential for long-term growth. The value of Bitcoin has increased exponentially over the past few years, and there's no reason to think it won't continue to do so.

Trading Bitcoin: Pros and Cons
- Trading Bitcoin can be more profitable in the short term, as you can take advantage of market fluctuations to make quick profits. But it's also more risky, as you could lose money if the market goes against you.
- Another pro of trading Bitcoin is that it's more flexible than investing. You can buy and sell Bitcoin as often as you like, and you're not tied to a long-term commitment.
- One of the biggest cons of trading Bitcoin is the high fees.

While that's good, I still feel that focusing on one is the best and I don't want to suggest that trading is wrong but it would be better if the main choice was to stay in Investments.
This may just be my thoughts that do not like trading because I use bitcoin as an investment but in any case and with the amount of evidence that exists today I think it would be very good if indeed you do in one alone although indeed in this case trading can also be profitable every day but I think no matter how smart we are in doing momentum and analysis still in trading we will be at a point where we are wrong in predictions and this is detrimental to yourself. But if indeed the choice of both according to you is right and worth doing then indeed you are ready with the consequences of both greater.

If one has the knowledge of trading, it is way more beneficial than just holding. The reason is that in trading, we can make our portfolio grow bigger while we are waiting for our exit selling price.  Even thought there is more risk in trading, if we have the ability to minimize risk we will end up with higher profit in certain magnitude.  Holding is the safest but also can bring the lower profit compared a successful trading activitives.

I'm not saying this to discourage people from trading bitcoin; rather, I'm saying it based on my observations and the experiences of many new members of this forum. I understand that holding bring more success to people who are new to trading and have less knowledge about the market movement.  Aside from that, there is no surprise in asking new comers how to trade, it is the initial step in learning and in due time, they may have a full grasp of trading knowledge and profit with trading activity.

You have mixed up ideas, if you want to describe everything as the same and just means to make money, which largely means that you do not understand the difference between trading and investing.

Sure, there might be some overlap in the ways that some people might conduct trading and/or investing, but you did not describe such overlap, and you merely just proclaimed that they are the sane because they are just ways to make money... a ridiculous assertion, and I should not spend any time elaborating further than I already did.   nuff said.

That is a good point.  A really great way to make money is by investing, but if someone is fairly new to investing then they might not have very much money to start.  So in that regard, if they can figure out ways to increase their earnings, then they can fold those earnings into bitcoin (or any other long term investments that they believe to be suitable to their situation and views).

It would be difficult to generate money from trading and also to be able to fold that money back into the investment, but surely not impossible, yet one of the major problems is that a person needs to have some resources to pay for living expenses, and so if there is no separate income then the money would come from the trading, but it would not be easy to build up the value in the position, including possibilities of compounding values of the account if some or all of the profits have to continually be withdrawn to pay for living expenses.

As long as Bitcoin is not an instant money generator, waiting is the most appropriate approach. There's no need to rush for quick profits because network growth and wider adoption also take time. Fundamentally, Bitcoin holds great promise for the future.

Yep.. the punchline it takes time, and there is a large value in compounding.. but that can take time too... even though there might be some short periods of UPward spurts, there can also be long period of drawdown that make it difficult to do anything beyond either just HODLing through the rough period or adding to the position during the extended drawdown periods.

Yes. They are not mutually exclusive.

Yes.  Some of the practices regarding trading and investing could overlap, but it also quite helpful to attempt to consider them in variations of their more pure form in order to also understand some of the areas in which they might overlap.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

Probably the newbie trader should mostly invest, but if he cannot resist trading, then he could limit his budget to trade up to 5% of the size of his BTC stash for learning purposes, and surely if he is adventurous, then maybe he could do up to 10% of the size of his BTC stash, but alloting 50% to trading as you suggest seems totally crazy, even for an experienced trader.. but yeah people do play with their BTC stash in those kinds of ways, and if there are not fairly stringent and reasonable limits in place (that surely can get adjusted from time to time), the allotment of how much to trading versus how much to investing becomes one slippery slope that largely devolves into gambling and likely loss of everything, or close to it... so just say no to such nonsense by attempting to set reasonable and reasoned limits right from the start rather than just winging it with some outrageous 50/50  kind of allocation.... don't get me wrong, 50/50 might work out for someone who is either really experienced or who might say 50/50 of new capital can be divided in that way, but not 50/50 of the whole BTC position... that comes off as crazy and/or like degenerate gambling.. and surely many folks who get into trading are degenerate gamblers to be trading such a great investment like bitcoin in the first place seems crazy.. even though trading and gambling with shitcoins does not necessarily seem as crazy, on the surface..

I think that you are better off to assume that someone is either not profitable or that they are doing worse than a simple DCA strategy if they are living off of trading, absence strong and convincing evidence to the contrary... and sure there is no reason to grill anyone but to have them back up their claims and figure out when they started, and then project out DCA and see how it compares to where they are at. in terms of percentages.  There is no reason that anyone necessarily needs to get into personal specifics, but if they are claiming to be profitable, they better have some numbers otherwise, I am going to take it with a pretty BIG ass grain of salt... meaning that I am probably going to believe that they are not beating DCA.. especially if we start to get into comparisons of 6 years or longer..  It  is like the gambler who conveniently tells you about all of the wins, but doesn't account for the losses.

Position size too, and so the overall budget should be looked at when determining how much to put into bitcoin, and probably less than 1% would be allowed for trading while learning and then perhaps go up to 5% at a later date and maybe maximize out at 10% absent some ways of dealing with the losses and the gains and especially in bitcoin, an underlying presumption should be that bitcoin is going up and going up forever, so the trades need to account for that, even if there are well times in which BTC has decently long periods of down and sideways, too.

Personally I don't like trading. Even if you educate yourself about trading strategies, market analysis and risk management before you dive into trading, there is still a fear of losing money. Bitcoin has gained significant attention and acceptance in recent years. It has the potential to revolutionize the financial industry and has already made an impact as a store of value and a potential hedge against inflation. With the rise of digital wallets and the increasing acceptance of cryptocurrencies by merchants, the utility of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange is becoming more apparent. As its value continues to rise, I think Bitcoin should be invested. But I believe it is good to HOLD in bitcoins and it will be in the future everyone uses bitcoins.

Investing is long-term and involves low risk, while trading is short-term and involves high risk. Both methods can be profitable if the right strategy is adopted.
With taking your description of what Investing and Trading maybe according to your view, I am rather not going to make any contrary review on what difference it could be at my end.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.[/quote]
With after learning and acquiring the affirmed cryptos basic skills, then you have realized that there are two categories of investments in the industry which are the Investing and Trading, it is then left for you to decide which one is best fitted for you depending on your investment capital and your goal of investment if a long-term or a short-term investment. You have already aware about the risks and the rates of income involved do don't get convinced by anyone recommending you to one because you might be unfit in time to hodl for a long time or unfit to taking the risky decisions.

However, as you insinuated that you want to trade and Invest that is to say you want to go into two of the affirmed Bitcoin categories. That is always a safer choice making if one could have a long-term running investment that is projected for the future with no point of compromising the long-terms goal with the ability to hodl for the period of specific long-term and also have a short-term investment that is to offer quicker incomes so as to support your financial needs.
So, I would say if you think your capital is enough to ride on the both sides then you are good to Invest and also Trade on the Bitcoin investment.
Money funded in investments with the goals to generate more money is never a waste.
Good luck.

Whether you want to invest or trade, it's equally good. What you need to pay attention to is how your fashion is, whether you are more suitable for trading or investing. Because there are people who are more suitable for trading because they understand fundamental and technical analysis, which means their ability to make decisions in a short period of time is better. Some are more suitable for investment because they are more comfortable holding Bitcoin in their wallet and planning to sell it in the long term. It all depends on the person.

There is actually nothing wrong in being a trader and an investor, but in a situation whereby I personally have to chose one, I did rather become an investor rather than a day trader, this decision is based on my previous experience with trading bitcoin and other altcoins.
A trader may seem to be making money on daily or weekly basis depending on how he or she scheduled his or her profit taking, but for an investor, a coin or token he or she invested in may one day make for him money that it will take over 10 to 20 years for the trader to make such an amount, though I personally believe that this type of experience may not be possible with Bitcoin investment anymore, but it is very possible by investing in the right altcoin.

But like I said early, nothing is wrong being a bitcoin investor as well as a trader

Yes, why don't we be flexible as both investors and long-term traders to optimize for the best returns? Both are ways to make profits in this market, let's choose the method that gives us the best results. But one thing I see is that many investors cannot make money from trading, they talk bad about trading. This is absolutely not true, just because they don't profit from it doesn't mean others don't. Although I do not deny that trading is riskier, that does not mean that no one can profit from it. There are still many traders who make regular profits from trading.

You should put a proper target and strategy while planning because being in crypto market is not
that easy and really you will end losing everything if you will just rely in some random answers , best that you must dig
for your own strategy and yes you will not survive if you do lol.

She can also try havign short term investment but the safest and better? long term Holding or at least

I will go for investment beacose investment is more safe then treading. Treading is the way to get rich easy the way is easy and more risky. You have to risk your money to earn in treading. I'm not saying that you don't have to risk your money when you are investing. But investment is lower risk to your money it will take time to give you profit. Treading is the easiest way to get rich but its highly risk to your money. So, I will go for investing.

LOL, I think there's a typo there so I could interpret it differently. It should not be fashion, but passion or interest.

Because there are people who are more suitable for trading because they understand fundamental and technical analysis, which means their ability to make decisions in a short period of time is better. Some are more suitable for investment because they are more comfortable holding Bitcoin in their wallet and planning to sell it in the long term. It all depends on the person.
A person's interest or passion for crypto certainly varies, but in the end the goal is the same. Trading requires you to have more intense time in front of the monitor which is used to carry out analysis and pay attention to price movements and make decisions. Trading may not be suitable for those who work full time elsewhere, but investing tends to be more suitable.

This passion should be adjusted to how much time you have, not how much profit you are able to make. Of course trading and investing are both profitable, but investing tends to be recommended for those who are limited in time but have a sufficient budget to generate passive income in the long term.
