You can simply just go to any exchange and buy Matic and then transfer it to the wallet. Gas fees are transaction fees needed by altcoin network to propagate your transaction. It is just like bank transfer fees for traditional currency. Also it is not just any coin needed for gas fee but the parent coin for that network, like every token on bnb smart chain needs bnb, while that on Ethereum network need’s Ethereum. My guess is this is done to increase the adoption or demand rate for the parent coin on that network

I think the OP knows that he needs matic, but he needs someone to send him some amount of matic, that he will send $2 in USDC to the person.

Yes I would really appreciate if someone can help me. I rather send 2$ to a member in return rather than purchase 10$ worth of matic just for 1 transaction gas fee

Someone sent you USDT on BEP20 recently: NOOB: Question regarding USDT BEP20 problem ! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5472121.msg63074695#msg63074695)

I will not want this to repeat. Learn how to be independent.

Do not use Binance if you want to trade with less than $10. Binance is the only exchange I noticed that is doing that out of all the exchanges that I am using.

Use others like Bybit and you will be able to trade even $2.

Or on Binance or the exchange that you are using, first convert like $13 worth of your coin to matic and convert $10 matic back to the coin you converted to matic.

Dear, you can also buy Matic on Binance for $1 or even for less than $1 amount, yes you don't need $10 to make buy and buy-and-sell trade on spot trading, all you have to do is to go to convert tab and then select your pair. Like if you wanted to buy with USDT then convert your USDT with MATIC with no fee. Yeah, you don't have to pay any type of fee but maybe when you will withdrew it from the exchange.

Well, if you still need 0.2$ worth of Matic then I can help you just send me your Matic address and you don't have to return me 2 USDC. if you are okay with it then share it and I will send it you

I have a feeling that this topic is better suited for the Marketplace (Altcoins) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=161.0
This has nothing to do with Bitcoin trading.

The OP said he is new to crypto so i doubt that he is aware of the functionality of centralized exchanges. Binance can be complicated to use for a novice as they offer almost every crypto related service the industry can offer. He doesn't have $0.20 to pay for gas fees that he needs to use to send his stablecoin somewhere so i don't think he has the money to make a deposit in a centralized exchange to buy some matic and withdraw it to his wallet.

I think you should move this topic to currency exchange (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0) board. However, it can take long time.

yes might seem high amount but honestly if you just utilizing it for fee alone at best you'd only lost 2 cents because the matic would then be re converted againt to USDC so you can easily get your money back.
I think thats the only way and more convenient than depending on other people.
thats just how the thing with many of the blockchain you should know the native coin being used for the gas fee before making any transaction since big fat chance you forgot about it and then requires to get some native coin for the sake of gas fee which might be really pain in the ass considering such simple thing needs complicated process.

You have made some USDT BEP20 on your other thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5472121.0) and lightwarrior helped you with BNB for the fees so that you can send that USDT to exchange.
Why not use that USDT on BEP20 for which you have the fee to send it in exchange for USDT in MATIC? Follow the instructions of Faisal for which isn't going to require you $10 for that exchange.

the simple version is every coin needs a gas fee to pay the miner and secure the blockchain.

However you can help yourself by using faucet in here https://stakely.io/en/faucet/polygon-matic

Let me know your address, I'll send you 20 cents.

Useless faucet, I have used it before, it didn't send enough for transaction and for next claim you had to wait 24 hrs.

WHY THE HECK EVERY COIN NEEDS ANOTHER COIN FOR GAS FEE ?
Gas fee is necessary because the transaction cannot be executed without it. Gas fee is a reward to the validators, so if you just want a zero gas fee, there will be no validators. Gas fee for each transaction is normal.

Instead of asking for anyone, I suggest to create an exchange account of yourself then transfer matic for gas fee. By doing this, your wallet address will still anonymous.

;D ;D Yeah, sometimes It was enough to pay a gas fee for the miner. Tho I tried by using their Celo Faucet is enough to cover only sending transactions directly wallet to wallet. When it comes to using Decentralized App it become useless since Dapp is usually charge more than one transaction.

Dear, I can understand that you are new to the crypto industry, and you are facing some issues but asking for help with funds is not wise, even if it's not a big amount, if you are using a centralized exchange you can use the option to convert small amount into any other coin.

Still, 0.2$ is not a big deal, I can help but my friendly advice is that if you do not know how all these blockchains work and facing serious gas fee issues prefer using a centralized platform to keep your funds and learn about the rest, Once you are done learning Imediatly move your funds. It's not wise to even hold funds in Exchanges but if your amount is Lower than a certain value better hold on the exchange. It will assist you in saving gas fees, and also you won't face any of such incidents.

This has already been discussed a few posts above yours, where it is also explained why this is not an alternative for OP.

Unfortunately, this does not necessarily have anything to do with a lack of know-how; it has also happened to me that I had too few coins (e.g. ETH) to pay the gas fees for another coin. Especially when it comes to such small amounts, this is extremely annoying, as you probably already pay significantly more withdrawal fees on an exchange if you have to buy more coins. So I can understand why OP is asking if someone could help him out.
