I'm tuning into the show right now, and it crossed my mind that I should start this thread to check if anyone here placed bets on this pageant.

We're down to the top 5, and we're just about an hour away from finding out the winner. Here are the betting odds before the competition.

The winner is Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, and the odds was +1200. Lucky for those who spotted it right!

I actually stopped watching the show when the Philippines wasn't included in the top 5. She got a lot of awards, so it's surprising that she wasn't part of the top 5. I thought she'd perform better in the Q and A part. The odds could have been better than the winner, which is at +1400.

It is strange that although I knew there was a Miss Universe competition ongoing as at yesterday, it never occurred to that the bookies will have it listed on their website. I don't think most gamblers in this community placed any bets on the just concluded event. You know we are mostly all about football, casinos, Boxing, other events are not as popular. Well, gotta keep my eyes on bookies that will give odds for the Mr Olympia and Strong Man competitions in 2024. It would be my first time so I will have to start from now to do my homework.

Same here, I stopped watching the live show after they announced the top 5 Finalist and PH is not included, However I think there's something fishy with the result because MU2023 Instagram page's posted the top 5 Finalist wherein Philippines is included. Anyways, Ms.Nicaragua is my bet since 1st day, I have no idea that there's a MU betting today, If only I had known, I would have won. Congrats to the new Ms. Universe 2023, To all participants and most specially, Congrats to Nicaragua for having the first ever Ms. Universe Crown title, which remarks in their country's history.

Miss Universe is not what is done daily to many pageants, but anything can be used to bet on bookies and this is one of them. If you want to find another common one of this type, let United States presidential election become closer, you will see how many people will use it to bet. That is just every four years and also makes it not to be like casino games and sports like football.

This is a type of special bet which many people don't do it.I personally only watch it and have no clue how the most beautiful girl in the world is choose,for sure I have seen better looking girls in porn videos  ;D so this definitely does not decide that the girl that comes out as miss Universe is truly one of such kind.

The people that bet of course have no clue either how to spot who is to be the winner so they hit it randomly the button to bet on any of these girls hoping to spot a win.

           -  Just like you, when I found out that I didn't make it to the top 5 of our Stone Ms. Philippines, I lost the desire to watch. When it comes down to it, it's really hard for the Philippines to be in the top 5. What we as supporters think is that the opponents are not.

Although it's not that easy for him to defeat his competitors, anyway, that's how we can choose to fight in this kind of battle. It's a good thing I didn't agree with my cousin to bet in case I lost a big amount.

It is hard to know who is going to be the winner, but that does not mean it is the reason why people are not betting it. I do not know if many people are betting it but it will not be a surprise if many people bet on it. There are casino and bookmark games that many people are betting on that the bettors do not know what would likely be the outcome, example is roulette and dog racing and all others and people like having fun and betting on the games.

There is no much awareness to this competition and most bookies may not have it listed for betting because the interest for bettors is also not high. Casinos are in for business and would be going for bets that will generate traffic for them. For me I have long been disinterested in Miss world that just comes yearly and after the competition, it just looks like nothing more to it. R’Bonney Gabriel of United States was the last winner but she won't be as popular as the last Ballon d'Or winner.

I’m sure only few spot this as winner since many is aiming for Thailand as winner due to the new owner of Miss U is from Bangkok which means there’s a high expectation to their representative.

Miss Nicaragua is very solid inside out. A total package of both beauty, brain and charity works since he is an active animal rescuer even before Miss U.

But betting on pageant in general is really very hard to win unless you are just doing it to support a candidate.

I also felt the same way since I support the Philippines of course it's my own country, I even bet some money with my cousins that she would be part of the top 5. I think the results are quite right as he mentioned, she won a lot of awards so it seems like they put a lot of reason for them to eliminate PH in the top 5 by raining of awards. What you have seen on Instagram might be a fake account of the Miss Universe cause for sure they have learned a lesson from the previous Miss Universe where Steve announced the winner wrong, it has an impact on the audience as well as the country. To be honest, I would really like to bet on Ms. Nepal cause she's actually beauty and I love how confident she is despite being curvy. But yeah other candidates really have a good answer in Q and A, still congrats to Nicaragua for winning MU2023.

Yeah. Live betting is available on most of the available bets especially on pageant like this which top 5 has different portion that will affect the current scoring like the Q&A. Sportsbook nowadays offers betting possibilities as much as possible as long as the event itself is still undetermined the winner.

But some casino doesn’t offer live bet once the match is already halfway. It’s better to use big bookie since they are the one who keeps open the bet even on the final minutes of a game.

Filipino supporters haven't still moved on from the result, as there was a post on social media from the organizer stating that the Philippines was included in the top 5 but her name wasn't called, and she also has won a lot of awards.

I'm just sharing this, but none of these, even if proven, would change the way the bets are graded.

I was also surprised when yesterday I saw in the news that they had already announced the winner and when I entered this section I saw this thread, and I was surprised to know that this contest is something that is listed in bookmakers for people to place bets, I don't know and I don't understand how people analyze each participant so that they can choose which one will be the winner, as I don't understand anything about this contest, so I wouldn't bet on it, but I must say that the world is heading towards a strange path, I heard that in this contest they now accept that men who have become women also participate

So I'm wondering what the judges of this contest want, and when they talk about it being a women's contest, what it means to be a woman, nowadays we have serious problems in relation to sexual orientation, people change their sex and this is creating a lot of embarrassment , when I saw that a guy who changed his sex is participating in this contest, I thought: my god, where is the world going? and honestly, I just imagine the worst possible scenarios. This contest needs to establish criteria such as: being a woman, being X meters tall, having done X and Y things. Just like we see in boxing, MMA, football and other sports, they all have rules that anyone can know and are more transparent when deciding the winner

There are still a lot of gamblers that are interested in these events that are held annually. You can say that this might not be as popular as traditional sports but they still get a significant viewership, and a lot of people may want to be in the action, too. There have been some local betting events near my place that also went with the Miss Universe pageant yesterday and they managed to amass a lot of bettors in such a short span of time. Most bet on Ms. Philippines, though we know the outcome, and they were not happy with the candidate not even belonging to the top 5 finalists.

I've seen some social media posts that Ms. Philippines is supposedly in the top 5, but suddenly her name disappeared and then enter the name of the host country? So there has been another controversial that involved Ms. Philippines. Maybe because the country has been dominating this pageant for the last 5-6 years?

In any case, I will agree though that there are also some gamblers who bet on this kind of beauty pageant.

It's not the traditional betting that we have seen, but it's obvious that whether fiat or crypto based every year this kind of betting is open because it also has a huge followers from gamblers, maybe non gamblers but they simply bet on this specific pageant.

It is an honest mistake but up until now there's no apology from the Miss Universe organizers we have another Steve Harvey moment here and such a thing should not happen anymore because we have seen this kind of mistake and what will make the fans of the participant in the issue and in this case Miss Philippines, it's ok for Miss Philipines Michelle Marques Dee but not for pageant fans of the Philippines and Philippines happens to be big pageant fans and even pageant experts are asking for an explanation.

Why these things turns out to be that something to be obvious that it is really that intentional? Mistakes like these are really that simple or it is really just that impossible that they would really be letting it slip
or there's really something happening out there? or they do really just love on making some scene which it would really be making out some noise. Of course it wont really be something
a simple thing that Philippine fans would really be skipping out easily. There's always a question on how and why it did happen.

Organizers at least should be minding on giving out some explanation for this one so because if not then credibility of such pageant would really be questionable or something
that cant be trusted anymore if this one continues.

I cannot speak on the controversy because I'm not really a follower of this pageant, but I do know that this is an especially big thing in the Philippines as the country has been a regular of this pageant for over 50 years. Anyway, the bets that I see are mostly just between friends and families, although it grew so big that an organizer has to manage it and hold the funds on behalf of those who bet. I know it's certainly illegal but hey, they made it happen without any incident.

Sometimes giving to much explanation will stir up all things and it can create more trouble since the fans on other side would provably cannot accept the result also the explanation they release that's why its better let the issue subside since people will just forget about it on following days.

I maybe not a fan on betting on such event but I like to watch this pageant to know who will be the newly crown Miss Universe for this year and I can say the winner for this year deserve to win a crown since he project so good in camera and really have an appeal to be a crowned queen.

 ;D ;D I can only imagine what your friends will be feeling now as their prediction were not placed even in the top five, but thats the beauty of gamble, no one knows the end result and this is what brings the enthusiasm to the sports. But I must say this kind of gamble is kind of rare in my locality, people are more familiar with the more the popular type like sports bet and casino games.

It would be nice to actually stake on beautiful lady, seeing if your selected choice could be the possible winner although I don't know the range at which the selection of the winners are actually taken from.

Actually, anything could be gambled about. Heard about US Presidential Election? There is a topic in this section wherein people made their own guess on who they think would win and same thing goes with pageants of such. As long as there is a contrast between two or more parties regarding the outcome of an event, then it could be a bet but most of the time thru internal agreement between parties 'coz not all platforms are listing such topic on their platforms or site since not all are interested about it. And that's the difference if we would be wanting 'new' topics to bet with; it should have enough community size to support the topic and so that other people could get interested of it, enough for them to place a bet. Problem is rumors with tournaments or contests wherein rumors of cheating could take place as well unlike with normal betting games wherein you'll just bet and wait for the outcome.

This is true, because is done almost every where in every way possible because I do myself gamble with my wife on some particular things in the house be it gaming session with the kids. But although I like to keep it discreet when it comes to gambling around my kids but Just as you stated gambling can be done on any two things of contrast and gambling on beauty pageant isn't all that strange to me too. For the thread on us presidential election, it has become very popular and I think maybe some gambling sites might even have it on their site.

Only bet I would be willing to make is that this contest will continue letting men compete and the event will lose more and more money each year.

It's hard to bet on this pageant because over 70 contestant is vying for the title, and if you're not following the pre-pageant competition to see who will stand out among the contestant you will have a hard time figuring out who has the best chance to get into the top 20, top 15 and top 5 and on the top 5 you will have to guess who do you think is the most intelligent or who will come out with the best answer in the final pageant or coronation night.

It's hard to pick the winner of the pageant because it's not only the battle between beauty but the brain as well and you will speculate on who can give the best answer so you will only know the strongest contender to win minutes before the announcement.

That's why its more bigger gamble to bet on a pageant but maybe you can lessen up the stress picking up the possible winners by seeing the stats like which of the contestant have strong online presence and also got a lot of awards since most provably they are the one who have great chances to win a crown.

Some other gambler feel excited with that since the result is pure random and they don't know which of the girls will win the crown and some just guessing since they also want to ride up the hype brought by the event and they don't care if they win as long as they try to bet on their favorite candidates.

I'm not against Trans actually, but this prestigious event should be functioning based on it's true purpose, and that includes allowing only biological women, and of course a women that has not gave birth yet.

It is somewhat difficult to predict which Miss is the most appropriate for a reign like this, because basically things have changed a lot, it is the first time that they will accept men and women of larger size, which really takes away from my personal opinion. a lot of elegance, because everything they do is what they say, I respect them, but there are also things that should not change the rules just to show that there is an inclusion, there is nothing worse than forced inclusion, in fact Miss The one who fortunately won is a woman, although the most beautiful for me was obviously the one from Venezuela and Colombia, but due to this contest so disconnected from what it was before, that the criteria for choosing the most beautiful woman in the universe, well things change very drastically, I think that this time I didn't like it at all, what I liked was that it was in El Salvador and that now the next contest will be in Mexico, but I think that they should go back to the basics, to the basic rules, because it is a contest that many did not like and there is a lot of real discontent.

Lucky not to see this thread during the coronation night or else I’ll just lose the money because Philippines is my bet, and the odds also tells why. The current Miss Universe competition seems to be more intense and competitive, those participants did their best but only one remains on top. Despite of the rumors of a cooking show, I still believe Nicaragua also deserve the title because she’s a total package and lucky to those who bet with her and won the prize.

Even without this thread but if you're into gambling already (all sorts of it), you will still be curious to see if there are types of betting for this. And once you found out there is, you will likely place a bet.

And it is actually beneficial to see a betting thread before the event starts, so that you can share your insights and gather others, to help you and them about your/their decisions. Losing money in gambling is normal so you shouldn't regret it. Other than that, you only did a good job for supporting your favorite candidate. Miss U and other major events/competition is always intense because the participants are well-prepared and tries their best to win.
