Title: SOLVED Looking for: Updated list for privacy DEX & privacy solutions for Bitcoin
Post by: Kryptowerk on December 07, 2023, 04:07:30 AM
I did a quick search but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for:
There is a website that keeps track of current options to stay as private as possible with Bitcoin, incuding a list of different DEX options and a rating based on certain criteria. I remember BISQ wallet having the best rating. Can't find my bookmark on my old device and don't remember the name of said website.
If anyone knows what I am talking about, would be much appreciated. Or any other great resources on the topic for that matter. Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for this website: https://kycnot.me/ which has a list of all DEX that do not need KYC and services that are focused on privacy? I do see Bisq being rated as the top DEX on their list. I hope this is the website that you were searching for but could not find it. Their points system is based on a large list of criteria, you can check the list when you click on this link: https://kycnot.me/points

Yes, exactly kycnot.me - such a catchy URL and still I forgot.  :o
Thanks a lot, excactly what I was looking for to redirect a friend to and will be securely bookmarked (even though I think I'll remember the address from now on).

Btw, anyone with connections to https://endthefud.org/ here? I was suprised to not find a link to kycnot.me on their website. Could fit the categories Control and Governments.

Just for addition recently there's a new project about list of mixers mixhub.to - a maintained list of mixers for backup and lookup purposes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476445.0)

I don't understand why right now Agoradesk, LocalMonero, and PeachBitcoin can get 10 points when they're not completely decentralized. Those services need to create an account and closed source, I think they should get 9 instead of 10.

I don't know, but there's a message on the bottom you can make a contribution through their github https://github.com/pox/EndTheFUD

You must check the date the article was updated and the last visits to the services, as changes will be rapid and some articles are not updated periodically, as most of the services and lists in the forum are found to be invalid due to slow updating.
Since most services are open source, it is best to look at discussion links such as https://gitlab.com/kycnot/services/-/issues/355 before visiting the service.

You have to open an issue or pull request on the EndTheFud Github repository and add the link yourself. It's how I got BitcoinCleanup in there.

But you're going to have to choose a section to put it in between "Control" and "Governments", because I don't think you're able to link it in two places at once.

Okay, thanks for the suggestion @Helena Yu and @NotATether. I'll go ahead and do that. Even though I agree with Helena on the rating for some sites that seems off in comparison to others.

Yes agreed, anything with an account creation or a party in the middle isn't decentralized. Should be 8/10 or maybe 9 but 10 doesn't make sense at all.

Damn, mixers don't seem to age well it seems.

Or you can just look at o_e_l_e_o signature (unless he changes it) if you forget the domain again. ;)

The centralized/decentralized and open-source/closed-source elements aren't considered when a rating is given by KYCNOT. As they explain on their About page, the rating depends on how much no-KYC friendly the service is. The other features they consider are TOR and which cryptocurrencies they support.
