Title: A first Bitcoin mining calculator tool
Post by: tranthidung on December 07, 2023, 05:30:29 AM
Bitcoin is a Proof of Work blockchain and it works with mining activities from miners. Miners turn on their mining rigs (now ASICs) to mine bitcoin blocks and confirm transactions when they see profit in short term and / or long term.

They do have to use Bitcoin mining profit calculation tools to estimate what they can get from mining.

I glad to introduce to you a probable first Bitcoin mining calculator tool.
  • https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator please correct me if it is not the first
  • Developer
    • https://github.com/lachesis

It was launched in 2010 but it is still alive today!

See the archive of the tool in 2010.

It is how it looks like today, in December 2023.

Hello Bitcoin miner gurus.

I discovered about that Bitcoin mining calculator tool that I think it is a first tool for it. If you are senior Bitcoin miners and know about any tool that was built and launched earlier that this one, please help me with information you know.

Personnaly I still prefer http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php (from kano)

It is extremely precise and complete, and I highly recommend it.

there are several, I don't remember the name of the one that had the difficulty graph and calculated the ROI for the indicated period based on the average difficulty trend.
whattomine.com isn't bad either.

I am not a Bitcoin miner and did not know about Bitcoin in 2010 or 2011, my research led to that Bitcoin Mining Calculator, with Wayback machine, it was launched circa 2010.

The Kano's Mining calculator you shared was launched circa 2011, one year after https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator, according to Wayback machine.
  • This is its earliest snapshot in September 2011: https://web.archive.org/web/20110929172153/http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php
  • This calculator possibly was launched months before that snapshot time.

Note on my interest in this thread: I need help to get information about any Bitcoin Mining Calculator that was launched before the one shared in OP.

Mine wasn't around in 2010 - I didn't get involved in Bitcoin until Jul-2011, so I wrote it some time after that.

Thanks Kano for this confirmation that matches with information I got from Wayback Machine and I shared this in a previous post as well.

So far, it seems the Bitcoin mining calculator tool shared in OP is a first one in Bitcoin history.

Do any of you have any projections for when you think BTC will stop being mined?   Or do you think that BTC will be mined like .00000000009? at a time?

BTC will never stop being mined, transactions will always need to be included in blocks, and when BTC won't have any block rewards left, miners rewards will be the transaction fees only.

(You should open a new topic, as it is off-topic here)

I think if you'd used a more generic name you would be more likely to get people to click on your link.

As it stands it just looks like the sort of link that would give windows users a coronary just thinking about.

Site looks ok though. Might want to add a free letsencrypt cert to allay some web browsers paranoia about non ssl sites.
