This thread Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476909.msg63284308#msg63284308) by Kontrolla has the best part of me this year; on the 6th night of December 2023, I was watching some YouTube videos, and because I have been searching for crypto-related videos, YouTube usually suggests new ones. Hence, these videos are all advertisements for altcoins (shitcoins) that are very attractive, and I was convinced to start looking for these shitcoins to invest in, but the next day I was going through this section to see if those shitcoins were talked about here, but most of these coins were scams, pump and dump group coins.

So after reading the title of the above thread, I went ahead to read the content, and it was just a warning to me, which saved me from getting myself into shit. I really appreciate the author; it's worth it. Thanks to Kontrolla, he just saved my ass unknowingly.

I have just visited it again and I see you have merited him too... Thanks to you too tk808.

-Much love-

I like this thread About Altcoins Investment Experience (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5464983.msg62766141#msg62766141) as an altcoin post. Because I didn't believe in any altcoins, even after browsing various websites I couldn't find any good altcoins to invest in. Different people expressed different views on the same alt coin on different social media, I used to get more confused after seeing such news. Later I realized one thing that there is only one altcoin called ethereum, I can't find disagreement about this coin. Gradually my confidence in Ethereum grew. Later on 11th of this month I read the thread, I also posted in that thread, this thread stuck in my mind and confidence in ethereum increased. I have decided that I will invest in Ethereum in my future plans.

Welcome back and happy holidays too, tk808!

I can't think of a thread that I was interested in but I guess, since Binance was on the hot seat for this entire year. Maybe this one has helped me: Cristiano Ronaldo get 1 billion dollars lawsuit for his NFT failure (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476337.0)
How did it help me? It helped me in terms of being encouraged that I should be reminded when I am likely to invest again in these NFTs. Despite that, I've got experience already investing in NFTs it's just hard to not look at it. But when there are some offers like this, I sometimes forget that I should be done with these NFTs whether it's from a very known person and exchange that endorses it, this means trust no one and stay only to the trusted cryptos in the market. And it's possible that many other forum members have been helped also with these news that don't be gullible at most times just because these projects have got names.

I have good experience with BNB, since get crashing price last several months investing keep loyal and hold it until joined many Launchpad or Launchpool earned much profitable until right now success sold my BNB coins on higher price around 20% profitable earned regarding my investment when bitcoin around 280$. No easy become diamond hand or long term investment exactly when BNB faced much problem after CZ indicate money laundering activities and almost make BNB drop drastically until down to $201. Its victory for holder as the winner at the end and BNB success raise up above $310.

Reflecting down to the best post that has helped me a lot I would make reference to this: How would you measure your success in Crypto currency (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5459326.msg62530834#msg62530834)

At a point of consistent learning and inquisitiveness, with the help of Cryptocurrencies i am able to get use to the development and technology in this Web3 space. This would merely be possible if I never begin my journey in cryptocurrency. So reflecting back to this memories certainly tells how far and successful I have become in this crypto space, also help uplifting my spirit and mind into keep learning more. I would measure my success in Crypto currency as being what I ever wanted and of course more is ahead to come.

Ethereum have been in existence for long time,  stands out to become a very important altcoin in the system, never before have I felt remorseful regarding the system, investing in a prominent altcoin and have benefited quite significant amounts in the space. We have experience terrible and good moments in the market, and I must say there's significant path to follow if we want to maintain quite stable profits in the system. There are massive numbers of altcoins in the space, we just have to play safe if we're going to reap profits from the market.

The topic of the post I'm recommending is "how to avoid a scam project" posted by @FireDAO CY. Although he is a newbie, and although the post is more of a question type,  from the replies I read in the question he asked, I learned a lot of things about scams associated with new projects and also read through peoples experience as they shared it under the thread. This is the link to the post.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450212.msg62150669#msg62150669

Altcoin thread is full of spam post and i don't find any good altcoin post expect some airdrop announcements. So I don't want to share any post as OP told us to do but I want to share some altcoin projects that were part of my portfolio but were removed due to certain reasons. Maybe some people will find it interesting.

I don't want to specify any projects name but there are some ecosystem and project categories that were my favorites in 2023 but i have removed them from the list. Exchange token were one of the top holding but i think decentralized exchanges are getting more popular and only giving trading discounts and IEO access will be enough for the upcoming season. Also L1 projects are off my list and L2 projects have taken their places. Doge gave me some profit in 2023 or earlier i think but I am not interested in meme projects any more and Luna was another favorite, but its lost its reputation.

I immediately saw this topic. I went through the altcoin discussion and found this topic very interesting.  we should start looking into Altcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5475204.msg63207714#msg63207714). So sad the OP has been banned, but he shared insight on how liquidities have been moving from Bitcoin to other altcoins. And currently, this is what we are experiencing. Bitcoin fees are high, and transactions are slow. Altcoins is the only solution to this. And the OP took his time to mention a few altcoins that could be an alternative to Bitcoin while advising us to look into one or more.

So if the ops are banned why then do you submit the topics for the thread that started since he specifically said he wanted to award them and at the same time get a reflection on what has been discussed over the time he was away from the forum,  but then I can still agree that the thread shared a lot of insight which can be worth the reading but we have to avoid sharing such thread to someone who has been away for some time now to avoid mistakenly awarding banned user merit.

But all the same with the current situation in the network with the problem of network congestion, altcoins have become the latest focus point and at that, we are going to be seeing a lot of new discussions focused on altcoins and which one best serves our needs as alternatives to Bitcoin at some point.

I have several types of altcoins and tokens in my portfolio. But what I have accumulated the most since the last few months is arbitrage. Because I know that when ETH starts to get hype then all L2 coins will definitely go up following ETH. And Arbitrum as layer 2 with the fastest growth in adoption will definitely have a good increase. Like today where Arbitrum has risen more than 10%. DWYOR

Stay away from crypto influencers  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5388269.msg59420843#msg59420843) each time I go to you tube I always see crypto influencers who always promote some altcoins which they dont invest in rather lure people into buying them. As matter of fact those set of people made me invest in a lot of shit coin which they gave hope on, and I thought these things they said is true not until i invested in some shitcoin that are worthless and gradually disappeared in my wallet. Though it was not this year it happen but seeing the thread here made me believe that most people who preach about some altcoins or shitcoin do have a better porpos for which they do that but rather for their selfish interest. Below are the coins I bought back then due to some random YouTube videos of alt/shitcoin to hodl and what I gat after some time.

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/12/26/IJZ0G.jpeg

This is the proof of what influencers did to me and I have vow never to seak for crypto influencers advice on YouTube unless in Bitcointalk.org forum because they are the only ones that can guide you on what to invest in. And morore I have decided to omly buy and hold Bitcoin because the money I use to invest in these altcoins would have been better if it to invest in Bitcoin. I was Woking and investing in altcoin thinking to make profit with a massive pump but these were the results. So let's be cautious of what we invest from the advert of YouTube influencers.

To me this is the most fearful thing I have seen since I joined this forum. A total list of defi hack. The compilation is indeed a thing to be considered when investing. People thinks Defi can not be hacked but with the look of things people need to be more careful. Just take a look at this

Your story is what a lot of the more legitimate members here on BTT preach to newcomers to crypto on a very regular basis - always DYOR and never invest more than you can afford to lose. What has occurred and been occurring for the last decade is wolves social engineering sheep into buying into their scams. There are very few influencers in crypto and in general the masses (ie tiktok or IG) that actually have the wealth and lifestyle they portray. It's a life lesson in this digital age, crypto is a direct involvement of monetary funds so all examples of scams and social engineering get multiplied by ten-fold and people can get financial very hurt.

You've learned your lesson and you're continuing to persevere. That's ultimately what separates a winner from a loser - a successful person from a person who's failed. Never give up. Crypto first and foremost is a game of technology. Meme's and shitcoins have their moments, but they come with extraordinary risk, they are intrinsically just a gamble. The line between crypto and gambling have basically become one at this point and time.

Indeed I learnt my lessons. Sometimes ignorance and lack of proper information can lead to wrong investment. Most newbies always fall for this scam projects because of the mindset of making a quick money. With the pump hype of some coins which makes them fall for cheap shitcoin or morover a pump and dump taken. When I did this investment I focused my attention on social media to know how to succeed in crypto investment. An that led to such. Just recent time in August I was able to join this forum and I have learnt more than what I have been studying online for the past few years. sometimes mistake are best teachers especially when you loose fund . It will make you to be more careful next time. All the mistakes I made in the past is in my phone. it always serve as a reminder not to invest in worthless things just like the one I posted above.

[WARNING] Stay away from BRC-20 tokens - they are doomed in the long term (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5451905.0)
Though I'm not too frequent in discussions about altcoins but this particular post got my attention and helped me a lot like I was pretty much Interested in these BRC-20 tokens as a result of the hype that was given to them as at the time they were invented, so I was contemplating on giving these BRC-20 tokens a thought then i bump into this post, so after reading through the post i got discouraged and never showed interest again. Though among the BRC-20 tokens that was introduced, ORDI seems to be the most recognized among them all due to the fact that it is the only replaceable token that met the quality of BRC-20 tokens. Currently now the price of ORDI is around $69.28 with a market cap. of about $1.45B USD as at the time of writing this information.

Nowhere is safe? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5469814.msg62971784#msg62971784)

The topic I'm recommending is centered on safety in the entire crypto network not just altcoins alone, I love this topic because, it sounded as a warning and a quick reminder to everyone to be security conscious and take majors to avoid being scammed. There is something the op said that struck my attention, he said " It's crucial for everyone to assess the security measures of any platform before entrusting their funds. We all bear the responsibility to conduct thorough research before investing our hard-earned money." Yeah DYOR is very important especially when we talking about money. You have you do your own research rather than relying on trends or what the media has to say.

And after a month and some days, the op created another post still talking about nowhere is safe but he tagged it part 2, and there he talked about how the connect kit of ledger got hack. One of the important things I learned from this lesson is that we shouldn't be relaxed with the security we have. We should look forward to making improvements, because those hackers around, they are learning continuously to break a more difficult security.
Here is the second topic created by the op. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5478134.msg63334785#msg63334785

I just want to share this post made by a newbie about the issue he encountered when accessing the Dogechain (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5474564.msg63179929#msg63179929). In the end, I am thankful for his post because I saw it, and because of it, I tried to access my web wallet to recover my small amount of memecoin and transfer it to another wallet to sell. So, long story short, I thought I had given up after several failed attempts, but when I tried again, I successfully opened my account. However, OP hasn't provided an update on his case, whether he has resolved his issue or not.

My assumption is that you chose the altcoin post is that this type of currency is very friendly in the eyes of newbies even on social media, the growth of altcoins is always from time to time with a new dressing and giving birth to communities, fundamentals and whitepapers each and have their own advantages, the point is that the more popular altcoins in a country can certainly lead to new motives in crime, I like security and learn from the past to anticipate, I feel that losing any asset is very heartbreaking, especially with physical attacks, this is my favourite topic even though in general this is a different board that prevents all assets including altcoins and this has indeed happened by snatching wallet data and other storage data. => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5474865.0 by Davidvictorson (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3344451), for me it is equally important that guarding the internet (avoiding phishing) will be more perfect if it is not rash, I mean there is no need to expose it on social media even if it is branding or work, I understand anonymity in the crypto world now after reading these events, which banks do not have among them to protect asset owners, it should be understood. The ease of learning cryptocurrencies must be aware that everyone can understand crypto (altcoins) and how it works. just save assets like hiding something very important.

I haven't seen a thread like this for the first time (I will be happy to drop just one). However, there are a lot of threads that have thought me a lot of things about Bitcoin, but I will not be listing them all, but I will only drop just one because I have gotten enough knowledge from the discussions.

Link: can we return the stolen wallet (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5445619.0)
satria157 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2100853) is among the most active people on that discussion and he is trying his best to make sure that the discussion is active up till tomorrow.
However, I have learned enough things from that discussion, even though I am not active there, I normally read comments and I still follow them up.
With the help of that discussion, I have gained a lot of knowledge that can help me in the crypto space

One topic that I think needs to be mentioned again is how news manipulates people's reading behavior. I also sometimes come across other topics about how people access news and this time it is at quite a sensitive stage to "Spot ETF" news.

Actually, it doesn't always get attention, and it is going into oblivion. Perhaps in the near future I think the issue of Ethereum will be talked about more and when this news is mentioned again, at a time when ETH big price increase is a joke to those who use this news to deceive others. Detail: Another FUD article from the Wall Street Journal... (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5477842.)

This topic catch my attention About Altcoins Investment Experience (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5464983.0#msg62766141)  through this year's many altcoins turn in to a dead coins which is pretty bad if we put our money in it and start investing .  There are many project will good in the starts but in the end it will fall and take all our money.. so it's better to choose good coins a trusted, proven and tested by other investors and 100% sure we can get some profits.

The second one is this topic posted by @Wiwo Cristiano Ronaldo get 1 billion dollars lawsuit for his NFT failure (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476337.0#msg63259805)
Which is pretty bad for cristiano Ronaldo failed on it but in my own Perspective I think cristiano is Judy promoting this and I don't think he is one of the owner. But still this is a big loss for the investors who invented bin it. Also we must have the mindset that even though the project was promoted by the popular athletes we must think twice or even thrice to avoid such mistakes and fall into losses.

This is the link Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476909.0) this is one of my best altcoins thread in the year 2023. And I choose this thread as one of the best is that, the thread warns users of Altcoins to trade or invest . If you are using altcoins to trade or invest, you have to take caution because many experts will also give wrong signal. And don't follow experts from social media to kick start your trade or invest but make your personal research very well so that you not fall in the wrong experts. In most time those experts from the social media channels are there to lure some innocent investors to be scam. And that is why the Op there warned us that we should be more careful with the market.

And from the rules of this thread, I am a very active poster of this section. And I thank you for using this to encourage poster here. Happy Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

I wanted to join a bounty campaign when I saw this thread about joining signature campaigns or bounty campaigns which is more Better, then when I went through the replies from users here I found out that signature campaigns are more preferable as they are more reliable in making payments to their members unlike bounty campaigns that take longer time before making payments. So I now choose to wait and build my account so that I can join a signature campaign. That's the most inspiring thread I've read so far in altcoin discussion session. That's the thread below
Which campaign is better? bounty campaign or Signature campaign (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5455252.0)
