Title: Bitcoin ETF approved, next Ethereum ETF?
Post by: The Cryptovator on January 11, 2024, 09:13:18 PM
As we all know, the Bitcoin ETF is already approved. So, do you think the next ETF for Ethereum will be approved as well? Many companies, including BlackRock, have filled the Ethereum ETF as well. I believe the line is already clear to approve the Ethereum ETF since the SEC gave green light to the Bitcoin ETF. We have noticed significant price movements on Ethereum since Bitcoin EFT was approved. I don't see any reason not to approve the Ethereum ETF as well. The deadline is May for the Ethereum ETF. We have to wait for that. What's your thoughts about Ethereum ETF?

I think that it will take time, I've just realized that it was since 2013 when the first Bitcoin ETF was filed and then series of came on 2017 and so those rejections that came from there was modified to these recent Bitcoin spot efs that have been approved. Is there anyone knows if there was an ETH ETF that was/were filed before? If so, there's a chance that it has already been modified if it were rejected before but I can't remember if there's one so it's likely the first time, right?

As things are happening most chances we will have no late tactics in ETH ETF case because now people's in power they can't resist against this all, and now it's better time to have things on positive way so now after Bitcoin ETF most chances we will have more good news for the crypto community and with this all most wanted figure can also touch bitcoin because this is big breakthrough for this community and peoples related to this business.

While I was searching for few things I have this article which is clearly saying now in coming months we will have ETH ETF which can bring big boom even may be this all trap, but now things are not stoppable.

What you are saying about the ETH etf is still vague; why do you think it will be so easy to get the etf you are talking about approved? If Bitcoin took a few years to become the top-ranking crypto in the market, it could still be ETH, etc.

What will happen is more experimental, as if they are testing the water first, there will be many more processes to go through before that is approved.

There's a good chance of an Ethereum ETF, but I think it'll be a slippery slope: from the ICO frauds of the past, Ethereum Foundation/Consensys dumping ETH pretty much every few months, etc.

The market seems to be expecting an Ethereum ETF though; but you know what's hilarious? If Litecoin gets an ETF instead of Ethereum lmao.

I would see it getting more support than bitcoin, especially if it scales. PoW is just harder to sell. But i see a lot of issues with it. Bitcoin as a pure currency is an easier concept to explain and adopt than explaining smart contracts, why L2s exist and why wallets are getting hacked left and right and why cross bridges are dangerous.

In short: i would trust bitcoin to my 80 year old mom, but i wouldn't let her use a metamask. She would totally didn't understand where it's safe to connect and where it's currently connected. Also explaining dexes to her would be near impossible. And she would lose everything if she ever needed to use it.

I believe it will be just matter of time before the Ethereum ETF gets approved as well. If there is an important price movement and a considerable volume within the market for the Bitcoin EFT, then people in charge of regulations will realize there is an actually big interest by investors and traders to get their hands on the Eth EFT as well.
The increase in the price of ETH is obviously due to the speculation that this will be the case, though I am not sure for how long the increase of the price can be sustained if the deadline for the EFT for Ethereum is still so far away into the year.

I am personally concerned on the implications for the long term price of Bitcoin, rather than the short term pump this approval could cause on the price, I am sure most of the long time holders think in this same way.

I'm sure the Ethereum ETF will be approved as well as the Bitcoin ETF. it's just a matter of time. why is that? just look at the traffic of ethereum itself. until now there is still nothing that can shift its position under bitcoin. although as we know to use the ethereum chain requires a Gas fee which is quite expensive. and many altcoins are competing to overcome this. many crypto investors are very trusting and do not want to release ETH.

This cannot be ignored because they also understand that the crypto market is not only about bitcoin, and as a matter of necessity, the journey to acceptance will have many challenges and I think the simplest thing is that they will still mine ETH's past stories to refuse, but in the end it will still be accepted because of the response. The journey of paving the way for the bitcoin ETF is bringing many opportunities to propose other altcoins approved for ETF. I have heard somewhere the story of XRP, SOL, LTC,... and even DOGE, but maybe all stop more speculation. And in the top altcoin, ETH still shows the capacity it creates, ignoring technological limitations, its appeal is gradually becoming more similar to bitcoin when people see it as a small investment risky in the crypto environment (except Bitcoin).

If you notice the reaction of Ethereum in the wake of the ETF approval, I mean like 2 days to it, it was much and the market was on the bullish side. I believe this happened because the market saw the green light of the Bitcoin ETF approval even before it happened and this is good news for Ethereum since it is also a very good project and second to Bitcoin itself. At the time, there was nothing stopping it from being excited as it is almost certain that it would be approved already.

Truly, there have been fiings for Ethereum ETF last year as well and since Bitcoin ETF has been approved, it will pave an easier way for Ethereum. Ethereum which has more scalability and utility just like other traded securities should be passed speedily and successfully and approved. The time of approval is still somewhat far, so let's see the drama the SEC and the market would do before then. But nothing can be as shaky as that of Bitcoin, Bitcoin shuck the entire cryptocurrency market with this ETF of a thing and I am glad that it eventually ended in celebration. Others shouldn't have issues with approval, especially those with good projects and popularity like Ethereum.

It can be a trap and a drop or some blessing in the future. But we're still quite far from going into it. As for now, we're good with the BTC spot ETF and we've already seen the effect of it with the market, it's always like that Bitcoin is bringing up the entire market and everything follows.
While some speculators think that these altcoins can bring themselves up not knowing that it's Btc that's always the initiator and indicator of this market.

Yes, it is possible that Ethereum ETFs may be approved in the future as Bitcoin ETFs are approved. The approval of the Bitcoin ETF could serve as a precedent for other altcoins to follow suit and seek approval for their own ETF. This could open up new investment opportunities for a wide range of cryptocurrencies, giving investors more options to diversify their portfolios beyond Bitcoin. However, the launch of the Spot Ethereum ETF in 2024 will give investors additional opportunities to invest in Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. ETF development can increase trust and confidence in the market, potentially expanding Ethereum's accessibility to a wider set of investors.

After the approval of Bitcoin ETFs, Bitcoin did not pump as much as Ethereum did. I agree that the path of Ethereum ETF getting approved is very likely now and so was the reason for it getting pumped. Investors are expecting its approval anytime now and after 2022 yesterday was the biggest spike in ETH price. There are in total 5 institutions that have filed for Ethereum ETF to the SEC. I do not think that ETH ETF will happen by this year, but the situation can change.

Guess events will happen based on how the Bitcoin ETF will go.

My opinion is Ethereum pumped so well because now that the Bitcoin ETF is approved, every body thinks the Ethereum ETF will get an approval too and therefore a CRAP LOAD of money will flow to Ethereum too.

Keep in mind that an ETF will as far as I know not do any good to Ethereum or Bitcoin directly.

In fact it has a capability of doing more wrong than good in my opinion.  It serves as a way for the average person to lazily 'purchase' Bitcoin which puts actually owning Bitcoin the real way as a second option on the list.  Of course some body with little knowledge will reach their hands toward a more comfortable and 'legitimate' way first than go through the hurdle of learning how Bitcoin actually works.

Then you wonder of what help is it to have the Ethereum ETF if none of the buyers is actually owning the real deal and the money flow does not directly impact the price and implicitly the Market Cap of Ethereum either.

But at the end of the day to each their own.  How many people own Gold shares versus how many people truly own Gold?  I some times wish there was no share to buy and only the real thing.  There would be less people owning Gold but all of the buyers would be real owners.  Same thing goes with Bitcoin or Ethereum ETF.  I will be happy when there will be a way for the regular person to buy the REAL Cryptocurrency and help its adoption.

Bitcoin has paved the way for Ethereum speedy approval, so I don't see Ethereum having any delays when it reaches it's deadline in May, it has the potentials of getting it's ETF without further delays. I think that the outcome of Bitcoin ETF can play a major role when it's the turn of Ethereum ETF, it's success will have a positive impact on the side of the US SEC, to approve for Ethereum, without any delays. Big names like blackrock, are already in line for Ethereum, so I'm quite positive that Ethereum don't need to go through the rigors of Bitcoin before getting the green light.

And ethereum ETF is inevitable, however I am not so sure that it is going to happen so soon, I would think the SEC will like some time to see what is the evolution of the bitcoin ETF and see if everything is right, and for that they need time, so they may try to buy some time with that excuse, besides ethereum has an image problem due to all the scam coins that are released each year over their network, so I could see the SEC being more reticent about approving an ETH ETF.

I think eth bitcoin and ethereum will be approved too, if these two coins get the green light, then there will be an alt season of course accompanied by a bull run.
there may be several more months until that time arrives.

Just because a BitcoinETF is approved doesn't mean an EthereumETF will be approved too. The SEC decision on the Bitcoin ETF might show how they feel about cryptocurrency ETF but each application has its own way. And no one can say SEC will approve or not. But I think they will approve because when Bitcoin go into a direction so the Ethereum also go behind it. Means if the BitcoinETF has approved so I hope the EthereumETF will also be approved. So let's see what the SEC will do.? In coming days.

BitcoinETF would act as a trial for crypto based ETF. It's already here due to popular demand and if the investors and traders found it useful, there would be further demand for more and more crypto based ETF. I have no doubt BitcoinETF would be a sought after asset. It took 20 years for bitcoin to get listed as ETF, If all goes right, it would take less than 5 years for another crypto ETF and by next 10 years, we will have 100s of those. ETF is also a way for traditional financial structure to maintain their control over crypto. They would rather have it than to lose against an alternative economic system.

Actually the bitcoins ETF approval has more positive impact on the price of Ethereum and there is a hope that very soon the Ethereum ETF will also approved. In current year may be there occurs an approval or Ethereum ETF and one it happens there will a greater achievement for all altcoins and bull run will initiate for altcoins.

Time will requires for Ethereum ETF approval but still there is a chance that if demand for it increases then like Bitcoin the Ethereum ETF will also approved soon. If there is good impacts of bitcoin ETF approval then surely in no time the Ethereum ETF will also approved and these two coins if surge to all the time high then there is a probability that crypto will be accepted by numerous individuals.

The Cryptovator Indeed, The ETF of Bitcoin has been approved by the SEC which means the SEC has some positive ideas for the cryptocurrency industry which may also have a good impact on Ethereum ETF as well Indirectly. I hope we will be able to see some good news related to Ethereum ETF very soon if it happens we also will be able to see good Pump in those altcoins that have a connection with the Ethereum network like, ARB...

SEC has been putting much suspense before approving the ETF of Bitcoin to manipulate the market sentiments and I think they will do the same this time as well before approving the ETF of Ethereum. They will approve it suddenly and will be able to see good potential in the market by the investors. By the way, what do you think how soon they will approve Ethereum ETF? Because many people have Hopes with Ethereum ETF and We all know that ETF event is the most important event in the crypto industry ever happened.. :)

Definitely positive. I mean Bitcoin ETF has already been given a green light so I don't think anything else is stopping an Ethereum ETF from happening. Naturally the SEC would still have to do all their research stuff and whatnot before approving so it may take more time again just like Bitcoin ETF, but based on what we've experienced with ETH so far I don't think there's any bad aspects that are, well, bad enough for the SEC to not approve it. I reckon majority share the same sentiments really.

After the approval of the Bitcoin ETF which went up instead of ETH I don't know what's behind all that because there was no increased reaction on bitcoin whereas when the news was fake bitcoin rallied even though it wasn't for long.

Bitcoin ETF approved being good news now moving on to ETH news will this be approved by SEC? I don't think it will be so fast then I see the news in May how the continuation about Ethereum ETF will be discussed as though.

I will wait for this moment to happen.

There was so much excitement about bitcoin ETF and many predicted that it would create buy pressure in the market and that bitcoin will create an all time high in January, which didn't happen. It makes sense because they already knew the bitcoin ETF would get approved so they just kept buying which pushed the market to its current level. So there aren't many things to buy in the market because those people have already bought bitcoin. Now many people are expecting that the ETH ETF will also get approved so they will start buying ETH as well and we will see a slow-up in the ETH price as well.

With the approval of Bitcoin Spot ETF, I do agree that it has open the floodgates for other crypto to apply as well including Ethereum. However, the question is, how do SEC look at Ethereum? If I'm not mistaken, they have deem it as a securities? And so with that decision of SEC, it could hurt ETH or it could help it  as well.

With that, it's going to be a long battle for Ethereum in my opinion. Even Bitcoin took years as well to have their first ETF approved. And so, it will be the same with ETF and there should be some entities that will really have to back it up to be able to get approval like Bitcoin. With the likes of entities like BlackRock and other big institutions that SEC has no choice but to give in with the demand.

It is very clear that Ethereum ETF will be approved since Bitcoin ETF has been approved because Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency used so far in the ecosystem. From now till May is still far so before then they would have deliberate on it to the satisfaction stage and approved it. And when Ethereum is approved then another one will come to the pipeline to be approved by four years to come and that should be either Dogecoin or Litecoin. But we don't know which is next after Ethereum. And really after the approval of Bitcoin ETF the price has started doing well though it is still on it unstable nature.

Bitcoin is always fighting for other cryptocurrencies to come without stress. Now Bitcoin is facing ordinals problem while other coins are free enjoying the freedom from Bitcoin fight. Bitcoin is a messiah to Al the cryptocurrencies in the ecosystem. And that is why everyone respect Bitcoin as their elder brother.

There is no guarantee that ETH ETF will also be approved but as the CEO of Blackrock is also talking about ETH ETF on the live show that means they are already talking with the government about it. We all knew how influential all these people are. But people already started speculating about possible ETH ETF approval and that is the reason we have seen ETH price is going up slowly when it seems BTC is confused about its direction. It is either those asset managers or some whales who are stocking up on ETH right now that are pushing the price.

Don't those guys (The SEC) still regard Ethereum as a security of sorts, and as far as I know never classified Bitcoin as one?
If BTC that is not a security had approval of spot ETFs take over a decade after the first filing now imagine how long they will have to take whilst trying to play hide and seek on approving an ETH ETF. If it is to be approved, then it won't be any time soon.

Long form answer: Ethereum is a mature asset like Bitcoin with a mature and extensive ecosystem as well (ETH Mainnet, L2s, EVM-compatible chains and even Rollups) etc. In. My opinion, Ethereum will most likely be approved for its ETF. The price has already started reacting because I'm beginning to see more and more users and traders alike speculating on a possible ETH ETF approval.

A quick look at coinmarketcap will tell you that majority of the projects in top 30 are either from Ethereum's ecosystem or are EVM compatible.

If Bitcoin ETFs are approved then surely Ethereum ETFs will be approved. Since Ethereum ETF is supposed to be approved in May so hopefully it will be approved in May itself. I thought only Bitcoin was hedged by ETFs. I don't know that Ethereum has been captured by ETF? However, when the Bitcoin ETF is approved there must be an Ethereum ETF approval, if the Ethereum ETF is approved by May, we will see the highest price of Ethereum.

I don't think that will be so quick.  That will blow the top open for all other altcoins to start having etfs.  It was a large enough effort to get this through I don't believe they are gonna roll over that quick on eth.  Just because it's a large cap alt doesn't stop it from being just another altcoin.

its quite literally already on progress, many big investment companies have already filled ethereum ETF they definitely gonna follow this up after bitcoin was approved.
the other altcoin will definitely not gonna follow because I guess the only ones that are able to fill the etf for these coins are just these multinational big investment companies which definitely
are gonna be selective, as we all know these companies are so eager to invest in major coins like bitcoin and ethereum so therefore its no wonder that they are trying to get these ETF approved.
meanwhile the other altcoin gap in market capitalization if you see are also so big if compared with bitcoin and ethereum.

As Bitcoin ETF is approved, I think Ethereum ETF will also be approved. There have been news on Twitter about that. So we should expect it by May as thats the deadline. Meanwhile, I just wonder how ETH price might go against Bitcoin after then. But for now, I expect Bitcoin to be stronger. Although, I paired Both using Bitget smart portfolio to help me buy more of the weaker one as the stronger one pumps.

If you look at the Ethereum marketcap, in my opinion, it's just a matter of time for the ETF to be approved. Take a look, until now there are still many investors who stake ETH and do not want to release it as is the case with bitcoin which is increasingly in demand and wants to own it for a very long period.
In my opinion, it is the right choice if you choose Bitcoin and Ethereum as a long-term investment vehicle. especially if in the end ETH is also approved for ETF

also to consider the fact that ETH are heavily being invested by these company that fill the ETF for bitcoin kinda make it obvious that eventually ETH ETF would be approved its just matter of time and as OP said there's baiscally no reason to refuse it as ETH in itself is also having quite the market capitalization and trading volume.
I think we already can see the future of ETH but with other altcoin we don't know for sure but just thinking that bitcoin and ethereum etf gets approved will definitely make the market bullish though the effect of bitcoin etf approval wasn't as massive as i'd think i guess its like the usual buy at rumour sell at the news.

If we follow your logic there, that's suggestive that everyone who uses fiat should know how fiat is minted before using it. Isn't it? Well, I don't think I've to know the minting process of cash before using it and I believe it's the same way with Bitcoin. What should matter to all of us Bitcoin fans is that Bitcoin is getting spread over and more people are beginning to us it, whether they understand the underlying tech or not.

There's a good chance of an Ethereum ETF, but I think it'll be a slippery slope: from the ICO frauds of the past, Ethereum Foundation/Consensys dumping ETH pretty much every few months, etc.
I think the market has gone past that sad memory of ICO frauds and moved on if we want to put in perspective the return of airdrops and app mining that have now become almost a trend. We know how airdrops dominated this industry in the past just like ICOs and were claimed through ETH ERC. If they can come back now and people are already chasing it and cashing out from it, I don't think the sins of ICOs will be a big deal not be forgiven too.

I think it will take time, Ethereum can still be classified as a security somewhat. Only Bitcoin is a commodity. Ethereum is very centralised, Vitalik could rug at any point & totally make investors REKT. That kind of risk is not liked by the SEC. Remember it’s taken over 10 years from first attempt to get Bitcoin ETFs approved. I think it may take a long time to get Ethereum Spot ETFs approved also.

Yes Dear, Your Point of view can be the correct one but We can't deny one thing that Ethereum has big potential. I was reading a news some days ago which showed that Blackrock is now owns amount of Ethereum in their portfolio and the fact is that Blackrock is the world's biggest organization. I mean their action on Ethereum may have positive facts like it put trust in other big organizations to buy Ethereum as well. Big companies and organizations make trends and hype that we follow later.

On the other hand, the favorite Approval date of Ethereum is May 2024 and once the Ethereum ETF will approved it will show us Good movements even all those altcoins also move up who are using the Ethereum network or Blockchain. Dear, what do you expect how soon it can be approved? As approval of ETF is the biggest achievement for the crypto industry and the biggest event that ever happened.

Yes, but it will take some time.
The SEC just approved 11 Spot Bitcoin ETFs a few days ago, and although we've seen Blackrock filed for a Spot Ethereum ETF, I don't think that the SEC is considering it already.

TBH, I don't know what will be the effect of accepting these Spot Bitcoin ETFs on the price of Bitcoin in the long run. I guess many investors are hoping that the SEC will accept spot Ethereum ETFs as well thus, we saw an increase in price in the last few days. A few days after they accepted the Spot Bitcoin ETFs, we are seeing the price of Bitcoin going down to as low as $42,000-$43,000. Many expected that it will reach as high as $50,000 but we aren't seeing it as of this moment. I guess the "SELL THE NEWS" phrase happened. :D

Ethereum ETFs? I guess the SEC will observe first, and will look at the effects of their decision. From there, they will decide whether they will accept it or not.

only time will tell if Ethereum ETFs will also be approved or not. I think the response to Bitcoin ETFs will also play a key role in making this decision. they'll see if Bitcoin ETFs are successful or not.
Also those companies got ETF how well they manage these ETFS and what will be their effect in mainstream market as well as cryptocurrency market will play an important role too.

Positive ETF news brings joy to crypto investors. because of the ETF approval, all altcoins rose significantly. Although this is good, many people think on the other hand the purpose of the ETF approval comes. we don't know what time will come with good or bad news. global elite people are looking for business opportunities
Since the Bitcoin ETF had been approved, the market had been dancing around and what we believe would have happened after the approval is the opposite we are seeing. Bitcoin ETF supposed to do wonders in the market but what we are seeing now is the opposite of what should be happening in the market. The price of Bitcoin supposed have reach like $50k but now, the price has fallen and people are still skeptical of what could be the reason behind that. The government had given power to the big players to manipulate the market and that's what we are seeing now.

Bitcoin has an etf because bitcoin rarely has followers or is used for alternatives on the bitcoin network before now, the bitcoin ETF tells me the originator, then if it is controlled by someone (blackrock) then we know who controls the price even though it could be shifted by someone else, but the bitcoin etf in my opinion is strong because it is a company. :D behind the fun there is another pleasure that people accommodate ;D
It is not impossible for eth to follow the same thing, because eth is the only altcoin that is so brilliant in every way, if it is enough with the eth networked project, of course it is enough for me, although the arrival of etf ethreum may be eagerly awaited for others, because ethreum is worth it.

Bloomberg analysts say there is a chance that ETH ETF approved in May 2024. just like what they did to BTC ETF approval, they may also approve it during a time when the ETH market is already about to dump and the market couldn't sustain. eventually, a plunge in the prices will make naysayers i told you so ETF is a bad idea.

when they do it on famous altcoins, it means they are about to control the market of that altcoin.

What do you think should cause the collapse of the ETH market? In 2024, quite important and useful ERCs should come into force for the ETH blockchain. I believe that this will have a positive impact on the ETH market in general and L2 in particular. If you see some drawdown in the value of BTC at the moment and attribute it to the adoption of the ETF, then there is an opinion that GBTC holders are simply transferring their finances to real BTC. The same can happen with ETH/GETH after the adoption of the ETF.

Maybe because it was still early? Just like the other past events that we had. Their effects are also not felt immediately. So if I were you guys, I will extend my patience a little bit. But, it's impressive on how ETH is performing better than in BTC despite its ETF wasn't approved yet. Imagine after it was approved?

Its price would definitely double or more than that but it may not be easy for it to dethrone BTC because by the time it happened, BTC had already advanced. 5 institutions are already solid I think for ETH to be considered by this year and there may be more to come. Another fact on why they won't hesitate on approving it, is that BTC ETF is already been approved.

One thing i understand from the bitcoin ETF is that the news is good until confirmation. Before that people had time to speculate about the price and after the release of the news there wasn't any significant impact on the market because people had already invested their money by anticipating the potential approval of the ETF. There is a high chance that ETH ETF will also be approved because blackrock has the highest success rate in terms of ETF approval and they also applied for the ETH ETF.

Yes, Ethereum ETF is an ongoing thing and there are 4 application for it at SEC. You are correct Bitcoin ETF did not pump Bitcoin now, but it will happen. We need to wait and keep an eye on the market. In general before halving Bitcoin does goes into red and recovers after halving. That is what is happening now and we might see it go below 40k.

Every year crypto is always visited by new people, making the crypto market bigger every year.
We have newbies every season and some make it to the professional level while the vast majority of newbies stopped halftime because they have made more heavy losses than actually milking the system, more like liquidating accounts. Every year comes with a lesson to learn, and I've learnt mine and have promised myself never to record huge losses, if I don't trigger any entry today, there's tomorrow to make analysis again in the market, there's never a deadline for us to milked the system. Crypto space is broad than we could imagine, we have watch and seen the actions of the market, it doesn't go as planned and it moves prior to our directions.

That would be happen since we already see bitcoin has been accepted and ETH also have strong community or supporter so provably next to that ETH will be accepted if someone do a ETF submission for this coin. Maybe next year those ETH supporter will do that and that would be great if ETH ETF will successfully happen since for that we can see that government is already starting to have a good support for cryptocurrency and provably for that event to many people will come and adopt crypto since they would see its potential just because of this approval happen.

Now we can see Blackrock is planning to make it happen and this article is really interesting https://www.investopedia.com/blackrock-ceo-larry-fink-sees-a-case-for-spot-ethereum-etf-but-will-it-get-approval-8425769

ETF which was approved for bitcoin, so bitcoin price was very high we saw it now ethereum is for ETF we will see the etherium price much faster grow,I guess the price of ethereum will be 4k dollars  because Ethereum is very strong fundamentals and has a very strong coin. But anyway, the ETF will have a big impact on his price and we will all see that Ethereum will reach 4000 dollars.and we can book profit from now.

We already see the correction in bitcoin and now turn back in 41K ~ 43k and Bitcoin didn't pump yet at least for now but I still hope that we can back to 50K level on this year. But there is also a rumor that SEC wont approve the ETH ETF

"SEC unlikely to approve spot Ethereum ETFs 'any time soon,' says TD Cowen" - https://www.theblock.co/post/272514/sec-spot-ethereum-etf-td-cowen?utm_source=onecryptofeed&utm_medium=social

Quick Take
Chances are slim that the SEC will greenlight a spot Ethereum ETF in the near future, according to TD Cowen.
“The wait might not be as long as 26 months, but it likely would be after the election,” the investment bank said.

They will be approved but of course, they also need to fix their problems which are not really good for their investors especially those who are not familiar with transaction fees. surely if they fix it and some other issues, they can finally submit their request and be approved by the ETF this year or the next few years, it depends on whether they can show improvement quickly or not in terms of their transaction fees and speed. Right now, let's just enjoy the approval of ETF with Bitcoin, and let's see where will it be brought by that approval in the next months.

Currently, after the Bitcoin ETF, the story of the ETH ETF is being used by MM(market makers) and the media to push up the price of Ethereum in preparation for the upcoming ETH Cancun upgrade. Looking ahead, I believe the ETH ETF will definitely be approved, but perhaps May this year is a bit early, I suppose that 2025 seems more reasonable. In the current cryptocurrency market, besides BTC, only ETH and XRP are recognized as not securities.
Therefore, if there is another ETF, these two are definitely top candidates. However, ETH is more likely and it will usher in a new era for the entire Altcoin market, in line with the expected market boom in 2025 – that is my prediction.

I hope so but I don’t think so, not imminently any way. We all know Gary Gensler is power hungry & he is already on record as saying that Bitcoin is a commodity & most all other cryptocurrencies are securities. I don’t know if an Ethereum Spot ETF will be approved further down the line, I’ve spoken about it before, I just do not think the SEC will allow it yet. It took 10 years to get Bitcoin Spot ETFs so I would not expect Ethereum ones would be so easy, so soon.

I was also thinking that maybe the drop of bitcoin price after the approval of bitcoin ETF, was because investors have seen it that there will likely be an approval of ETH ETF by May, and they ha e decided not to buy bitcoin because of the price and they ha e moved to start stacking up ETH now because the price is still very cheap for them to accumulate as many as they can buy for a better profit once ETH ETF is approved. It is by May that we will know if the approval will be given. Maybe, I should also join the train of stashing ETH in my portfolio.  ::)

Indeed I have heard him say something of such that Bitcoin is exempted from other cryptocurrency because they are all securities.i watched an interview of Gary when we said it has been in his mind ever since, but he was waiting for the right timing. Actually other crypto enthusiast believe Ethereum ETF would be approved by may after the halving, but in my opinion it wouldn't be that easy. Even if Ethereum is also a trusted coins, the SEC still consider it a security, so even if it gets approved this year, there will be some delay.

delays that occur in ethereum ETFs may very well happen. just like the bitcoin ETF that was delayed. but in my opinion the delay occurred only to reduce the price of ethereum temporarily before the ETF was actually approved and made the price of ethereum will skyrocket.

Ethereum ETF should be much more easier than Bitcoin because it has central entity, so depends on how Ethereum are pushing and negotiating with the SEC if the Ethereum company are acutally wanted ETH to has it's ETF. But so far I haven't heard Vitalik Buterrin making any comment about Ethereum ETF, he was focused on raising the gas price to enhance the Ethereum network.

Yes, you are right there, so there is no need to rush it, in my opinion. Yes, it's true that some companies have already applied there, but that's not sure yet. So there are probably many more times that Ethereum etf will face rejection in that matter once there is approval.

So I think let's not focus on that for now, and better yet, let's first take care of the upcoming halving and bull run for Bitcoin and altcoins this year until 2025. Because this is important, it is important that we have at least some crypto assets in our wallets.

Everyone is taking about ETF because we thinking this would make the price of Bitcoin to skyrocket.
We should not be too curious because we just gave the market liquidity to the hands of the big sharks. They would control and manipulate the market in the market they want and might not have the power again to have influence on the market.
Cryptocurrency is not supposed to be the hands of the government. Now that we have given the power of the market to the big institutions , we should be ready for the consequences.

Bitcoin ETF is not approved yet, so we can't say that it is ETH next, BUT if you ask me, it feels like that would be a lot harder. Because satoshi is not around, so whoever built bitcoin can't be found, it's truly decentralized and nobody is doing anything about it.

Whereas, ETH foundation is right there, and Vitalik is a public figure of it, which means that it's not fully decentralized, I mean not that they can control it fully, we have to agree, but look at how easy it was for them to go from PoW to PoS, we all agreed for them to do that, but they were the ones who did it, they promoted it so much that we expected that to make us rich, and we all agreed to it. That may not feel like centralization, but it's not fully decentralized neither.

It seems to me an ethereum ETF will face more challenges as there are too many factors playing against it, however with so much money at stake and with the huge interest of institutional investors growing, it is entirely possible we may see the approval of an ethereum ETF during this year or the next, however while this will create the expectation the same will happen for the rest of the coins on the market, I think the rest of the altcoins on the market cannot compare to ethereum and we should not expect to see them getting their own ETF as well.

If the Ethereum ETF is approved, it will have a very positive impact for Ethereum holders or aspirants because if this happens, I think the ETF will pump like crazy and lots of new investors will come in to buy ETH. Hopefully, the ETH ETF will have the same fate as the BTC ETF that is approved. I pray. for that to happen because it will make new history once the bitcoin ETF is approved

The approval of the ETH ETF is good for the long term but in the short term it won't have much effect. People will keep speculating about the ETH price until the approval of the ETH ETF like they did until the bitcoin ETF approval. The rumors made most of the impact and the speculator drove the price. If something like a bitcoin rally happens with ETH due to its ETF approval potential then it can take the price of ETH around 4k and even higher. Let's see how people cash in on these rumors.

I no doubt that it will be good for both Ethereum holders and the whole crypto space.
If Ethereum ETF is approved, the demand for ETH probably will increase. This will trigger the increase of the price of ETH in the future. However, it won't happen suddenly, it needs time. Even after Bitcoin ETF is approved, we don't see a significant impact on the Bitcoin price. It means it will be good for a long term, but it may not give a big impact for a short term.

People will keep speculating about the ETH price until the approval of the ETH ETF like they did until the bitcoin ETF approval. The rumors made most of the impact and the speculator drove the price. People will be always interesting to speculate for the future of crypto coins, specifically for top coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Many people may be just following others they are curious about it. But some people may have a specific purpose, they want to make a hype of the rumor. They are trying to improve the price of the coin by spreading the issue/rumor. It is not a new way to boost the price of crypto coin, it is a classic method to raising the price by the hype.

dude its not vitalik or any ethereum founder that gonna be pushing for ETF its investment company like blackrock, grayscale or something like that which are willing to fill in ETF so that it can be approved.
in my opinion though this ETF definitely have big chance of being approved, but the thing is maybe there will be delay after some moments first after BTC ETF being approved im sure in the future it will be eventually be approved.

I doubt it will pump that much remember BTC ETF was not that significantn pump mainly because people are already conscious that the ETF have big chance of being approved so they just don't realy get too excited I guess, I instead wait for halving and maybe bullrun season but surely this ETH ETF approval could help pump the price of ethereum by some though not gonna be so significant as I stated earlier I guess.
but it might also opens up flow of investment to ethereum since it will get that legitimacy for the coin itself.

bitcoin ETF approved ever since then bitcoin price has been going down so far i still don't understand how this has actually affected bitcoin where it should have been going up bitcoin price is going down now if you think that will happen to us then that's the real deal for us  Sad and frustrating so we must be aware of these things rather than be happy. ETF approved that it's not that we have to dance.  Finally, let the market do something good

It doesn't give much effect since its like trading approval but still that's a good development since imagine aside from bitcoin ETH is also been approved by the. For that it create some huge potential for other alts to get recognize and maybe this is one of good step that those skeptical government which ban bitcoin can realize that they made a mistake for deciding that on their country and maybe it can open another level of adoption for both top coins.

Although for now its hard to speculate since all we can do is to speculate so maybe lets just see the update will happen if there's someone will push this plan to happen. If ETF approval will really happen it could possibly stretch up the price of bitcoin to $4k or maybe even we can see it surpass at $5k which is historical record for its amazing growth.
