Title: BTC transactions unconfirmed for nearly 2 months. Can't find help.
Post by: Sploochy on January 12, 2024, 01:53:07 AM
Unsure what to do. Sent BTC from external wallet to Cashapp, Cashapp refused them and made me reverse them to a different wallet (Coinbase).

The fees seems to be super low. Can't do RBF and don't know if Coinbase offers CPFP.

Been waiting for a while and opened countless tickets. CashApp support pretty much said "you have to wait, sorry, we don't know how to help you further" and Coinbase keeps referring me back to Cashapp.....

Have attempted to use memepool.space accelerator but there is a waitlist to use it. Some people say they have waited months to gain access.

Here are the Hash ID's....Any way someone could help find a solution? Will pay if someone could boost or mine it for me, not sure how that works.

If they refused your funds, it means the tx reverse is done by cashapp and they set 15.4 sat/vb fee for this output?
If true, there is nothing you can do but wait. Let's say the coinbase wallet supports CPFP (I don't use it), the coinbase address is the recipient that isn't the owner of the tx output (the destination address doesn't have the ability to CPFP the incoming input).

No need to pay any user, you can try by yourself, choose one of paid accelerator in this thread Bitcoin acceleration services - Fee comparison (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5480657.0).

If they refused your funds, it means the tx reverse is done by cashapp and they set 15.4 sat/vb fee for this output?
I feel like both CashApp and Coinbase ping ponged the problem, which mean neither of them didn't do anything.

Only they can access the memepool's transaction selection section can help you to confirm the transaction. There is no one here. Also, the viaBTC option is not available, so you are left with a paid option, which is https://www.f2pool.com/user/tx-acc, where you need to register an account and pay required fees.

Some scammers will try to send you messages and tell you that they can help you, do not believe them that they are scammers.

As much as Ive love bitcoin this one thing of hassle makes me hold it for a longer time. If you dont allocate funds for transaction fees then you cant use bitcoin like normal. Maybe avoid small transactions using bitcoin and use other crypto instead cause the fees literally not friendly at the moment.

Youll need more for gas fee cause if not it will be stuck there for a very long time due to many transactions pending.

No transaction will be confirmed in 10 decades all transactions with low fees most likely be rejected by the nodes after 14 days.
After that, you can able to spend the BTC again after the transaction was purged from the mempool.

@Sploochy
There is someone here who recently had a pending transaction from Cashapp it seems this is a common issue and there are many people who use Cashapp having the same issue.

Can you tell us what transaction speed you choose (priority, rush, or standard)? If you did select the priority speed then this shouldn't happen unless Cashapp has an issue calculating or fetching the updated recommended fee from mempool.space.

Another thing is that Cashapp can't able to do anything from your transaction because the transaction is non-RBF. About Coinbase you can maybe able to do CPFP if the wallet you created is not from their Coinbase exchange because their Coinbase wallet can able to generate seed phrase backup, unlike the Coinbase exchange. If you have this backup you can maybe able to import it to another wallet like Electrum.

So do you have a Coinbase seed phrase backup?

Alternatively, use a paid accelerator here are a few known accelerators below

Why are you guys still using a wallet that doesn't have a customized fee option? I remember a few others had the same complaints due to cashapp using low fees and keep rebroadcasting it so the TXs won't be dropped from Mempool.

Free acceleration is no longer an option, so use any one of the paid accelerators to push your TX and get rid of the cashapp, install an actual wallet that lets you do more things.

Basically, there's nothing much anyone can do except to keep on rebroadcasting it for you. You can check the Service Section for a user who provides such services, of you're interested. I'm also in the same situation. Well, mine could be different as I ain't stressed out to the point of getting worried. It's now weeks since mine got stuck too and I'm not even going to try an RBF on it. Whenever it feels ok to scale through let it go. This transaction thing has become the bane of Bitcoin gradually and it's making people check other alternatives in LTC and stablecoins. It's really worrisome.

I never had the option to set a fee or priority. Cashapp rejected my deposite from coinbase, which was sent from coinbase with higher fees than what CashApp allocated to the reversal transaction.

So you mean they are the ones who made this transaction, not you? If you are the one who made the transaction from Cashapp it should have 3 options after you paste the address or scan a QR code (priority, rush, or standard) it should be like this below

https://i.ibb.co/kgShtjv/image.png

If you haven't seen this and Cashapp is the one who made these transactions then better ask them to increase the fee but the problem is the transactions seem not rejected yet by the nodes.

Does your Coinbase wallet have a backup seed? or do you receive it on Coinbase exchange?
If you have a backup seed you can extract the private key from the backup seed and import it to Electrum and then make a CPFP.
However, if it doesn't have a seed backup and you receive it in your Coinbase exchange account you only have two options; wait for these transactions to be rejected by the nodes and ask the Cashapp support to make a new transaction with a higher fee or use a paid accelerator.

Correct.
From Coinbase I had those options, which sent to CashApp within minutes.
CashApp then basically said "We have your funds, but we don't want to accept them into your account. Enter a new wallet to reverse the funds into."
After entering the wallet address to reverse into, it automatically says "payment processing"

I just figured out how to send USDT using ETH to boost the transaction on f2pool
I'll let you guys know if it solves the issue or if I'm out a $40 boost fee. lol...

With what is happening now with transactions confirmation delay due to high fee rate, it's better to make confirmation on what the transaction fee is on the mempool before starting one, this will allow one of not being stucked along the way, the annoying part is that you cannot boost or pump the fee, I don't know what's actually going to happen, maybe we should expect that such could get confirmed the very moment the mempool has become stable again as before, having cheaper rates for performing transactions.

You miss this opportunity if you enter a different wallet address that you fully control(Like Electrum) you can do CPFP.

Did they tell you what's the reason why they rejected it?

Never tried the f2pool accelerator but keep us updated and let's see if their service will work to confirm these two transactions.

I used f2pool. $40~ in USDT and around $10 ETH (and maybe an hour learning they have to be on the same network) to accelerate one of two of my transactions as a test.
Within 20minutes the transaction on memepool.space showed as 1 confirmations  and the fee rate stayed at 14.5~ and changed from "poor" to "optimal" even though the standard fee to get in a block had not changed.

Sitting at 4 confirmations now, so pretty sure it worked :)
Thank you to whoever recommended them

I'll be doing the 2nd transaction as soon as I see the funds in my wallet

That’s probably just a troll. Yes ideally all transactions have a default time of 2 weeks of been getting purged out but this time usually varies depending on the nodes mempool settings or some wallets that do usually rebroadcast transactions regularly and this stops them from been dropped. But after the 14 days one doesn’t get a transaction confirmed and the transaction fee rate is below mempool. Space explorer purge fee suggestion then they can just switch servers as some nodes would have definitely dropped the transaction.

Nice I am also just getting to know about f2pool accelerator today but still it is expensive. Yes your transaction fee will not change because the payment you made to f2pool can’t be added it is just like a side tip to f2pool to include your transaction in the block they mined. Transaction been included in a block doesn’t have a standard protocol to follow like it must be a higher priority fee it is just the miners that set that rule for them selves even a transaction with 1 sat/vbyte can be included in a block
