Initially before this forum , I was active in trading crypto which sometimes my analysis will enter for me and I will make some money and at a point the phobia of loss enveloped my thought and I stopped trading crypto because of series of losses but when I joined the forum ( bitcointalk) I read a thread that talked about patience and that all the newbies should Hodl coins instead of trading and that they should go through what the high ranked members post before making their own post and after going through series of threads I decided to read as much as I can and to hodl as much as I can and now all my technical analysis are going towards my direction and the chances of loss has reduced however, I thank all the High ranked members for their advice and at same time ,I urge all the newbies to be patient enough to read more post before posting .

Wow mate, that was one of a post. Did you forget to add your punctuations? You still have a lot to learn mate. You should try to use punctuations where possible in your post as it makes your write up easier to read. Some members will find your post a bit annoying and you should avoid using more of the word AND  to connect a full stop.

As regards your post, you are lucky to have made the right decision and joined this forum. Trading is a risky investment for anyone who doesn't understand how. Even experience traders will tell you that they also make losses and if you must go into trading, you should have more experiences and be able to bear the risk.You should be more concerned about HODLING for now as a newbie and it will help prevent you from further losses of your funds. Just as you've said, learning from this forum is easier when you give time to study.

About giving thanks to high ranks in general, HODLing is very common among Bitcoiners, not only among those who have been in the market for years. I guess that the best advice you received were given by Hero and Legendary members, and that's why you said that, but not every Legendary hodls, and not every newbie likes trading.

On the other hand, don't forget that hodling is risky too. But, if you are confident in Satoshi's project for the long run, then IMO doing nothing with your sats is way better than applying the pseudoscience of TA. TA is good for those who want to make money fast and don't care about the probability to lose their funds, and it is compared to gambling by several users in this forum.

You're not loosing on trades because you're a newbie, or because you are afraid of what may comes in next, don't also take being patient as the reason enough for you to use in making profits whenever you're into trading, many people lost because they don't have an idea of what they are doing and that alone completely render them inexperienced to be qualified being whom they thought they were.

That's a good story from you then. It's an helpful tip from most of us that if you just want to stay calm and chill while waiting for some decent gains, you just have to hold.

You don't have to go what others are doing like trading and monitoring the market all day long as that's their forte. If you know that your forte isn't like that, you need not to effort a lot but to accumulate and hold.

Look at the investors that have been holding Bitcoin for so long, they all have common things to say and that's to be patient, hold and accumulate more.

Trading comes with alot of stress and risk just like gambling and this should be carefully looked at at some point and for that if tou are trading, tou should be ready to lose money and for that one need alit of patients and also trade with amount you can afford to lose and still continue with, because before you can profits un trading, tou need to have developed alot of skills that comes with a long time of experience in the field.
The inability of newbie traders to properly identitfy the core fact that, trading is not a get rich quick scheme so they shouldn't expect to make profits at the very start without putting much efforts into what we call time for development and skills building,  this is one of the most vital aspects in trading and same also with all other high-risk 3activities such as gambling.

Patience is always the key not just in long term hodling, in trading, but even in studying and understanding the forum as well. If you are patient, you will absorb all the information needed to make you a quality poster, a good investor and a reliable trader as long as you do your own diligence to research and study. So I totally agree on you OP, not just newbies but all those who want to take risk in the crypto space should have high patience to gain their  innermost desires and goals set upon entering crypto.

You're not the only one. Stats show that about 75% of crypto traders stop trading along the line due to losses and they mostly happened because they trade against the market trend, no risk management, and no stop losses. Another reason is that crypto trading is not meant for them.
I know a majority of people never had such an impression about crypto trading but it's something that's not meant for everyone and investors/traders should always research about the area they fit in.

Normally, you have to read, the previous discussion on the thread you wanted to post in so your post won't be off-topic or won't be about the discussion that already concluded but not all high-rank member's posts should determine your decision. You have to do your research first because some posts contain misinformation.

Patience should be a virtue whenever a person is doing any crypto transactions, it's required in trading, because to know the perfect time to enter the market, in order to minimize loses, patience to put money in a new project, because it can be scam, very important to carry out thorough research first, patience to hodle your coins till it hits the perfect price in bull run before considering to sale. I'm happy for the OP for taking advantage of the experience of knowledgeable members to maximize profit and minimize loses, in his crypto trading.

Patience is a very powerful thing in crypto. Patience is the only thing that allows us to invest in crypto. With patience, we can sustain our losses that once we get impatient then we will continue to lose but since most of what is patience in crypto and also we should not panic because whenever we get a token or an entry In trading, then we should show patience and tolerance to the fullest, see that if we take any token, it will go down and up some time it will give us small loss but if we will continue our patience then the small loss will change in big profit.

I don't think anyone should find it annoying. Not everyone here is a native English speaker, so even being able to string up some legible words together is a good enough feat. As long as we can understand what's written, that's good enough.

Still, advice you to keep learning about trading, you don't have to use a lot of money in trading, that's the mistake that most beginners do, they always want to make big money, gradual learning makes you a pro faster than someone who have money on their mind.

Now that you are buying these assets and holding for long term, which of cos will reduce your stress and risks, it's also a good time to give your all to learning, trading isn't that bad if you are good at it, and I believe that you need a professional trader to learn from, there are tools that will improve your skills, but you need to do your own research to know more.

Keep your recovery seed safe, you don't want to end up losing everything to scammers when the real bull market is very close, imagine all the stress of DCAing every week and ending up losing everything to scammers, knowledge is power, never stop seeking.

According to the heading of the thread, "patience is indeed power" and you should have exercised a little bit of it with him. Also it is not wise to hodli alone as a newbie, but you use also buy bitcoin regularly maybe weekly or monthly using DCA method so that you can increase your bitcoin investment. This is because the profit that your investment will generate depends on the size of your bitcoin portfolio, and the time line, you can use 10% of your monthly income to buy regularly or 5%, it depend on your income and your monthly expenses, that will enable you to know that exact amount that you can use to buy without stress or pressure on you.

I think I have to agree to disagree with this statement. While holding coins can be good, not all projects are worth the HODL. It's crucial to be cautious, especially with new projects lacking a proven track record; they might pose risks like scams or rugpulls. Risk management is key. Established coins like BTC, ETH, Solana, Matic, BNB carry a better reputation and are likely safer to HODL, even in downtrends. There's a chance these established projects can bounce back or even see significant growth. It's about striking a balance between potential gains and minimizing risks, especially when dealing with newer or less-known assets.

Being patient is linked to proper investment. I cannot ask someone to buy LUNA and tell him to be patient, you will make crazy profits. Even if this happens, this does not mean that patience is good, just as happened with SOL. It is true that traders have made profits, but whoever does not sell may regret it in the future. Patience comes from investing in Bitcoin, not any other cryptocurrency. Even Ethereum does not have a good long-term ETH/BTC profit record.

Everyone who genuinely wants to succeed in life will most likely be patient since doing ordinary tasks exceptionally well is the key to achievement. It is something I won't stop telling people I come across in my daily interaction that trading is not for everyone. If you can't afford to lose money, to be patient, learn and gain a long time experience ( both personal experience and from others in the business before you)  then trading is not for you.

Aside from crypto trading and hodling even in other live investment and businesses it requires a lot of patience to work on your plan and stay put before you start making success, success doesn't happen overnight it's a due process which has to do with patience, knowledge and hard work. There's no short cut to good success except you want to go illegal which eventually you will be caught then lose it all and get back to square one.

But like I said before, every thing presents risks.  Going outside is a risk.  Laying in bed is a risk.  Holding Fiat is a big risk.  Trading is a big risk.

It is always all about choosing the smaller risk.  Going outside but using the sidewalk to avoid being ran over by a car.  Trading only money you would accept losing on such a thing.  Holding Fiat but making sure there are backup plans and investments too.  Choosing to hold on to Bitcoins is the least risky option and this is proved by its price history.  You can not lose any thing if you hold an Asset whose value only increases over time.

Patience is power, Patience is a virtue. Let me use my experience in this forum as an example.

I was introduced into this forum by a brother and honestly it was very hard for me to keep up because a Nigerian I felt like I was wasting my time especially when I had pressing matters at hand to settle, back then I had zero patience, imagine telling a grown man with a family to start reading and learning like am in secondary school and everytime I complain that it's too much for me to handle he would always tell me to be patience, read more and learn, and right now I have patience in abundance. I've learnt patience and tolerance here in this forum as I strongly believe that's the only way to grow and succeed not only in this forum but in real life as well.

Talking about trading, patience is highly needed in abundance in order to know the perfect time to enter the market and also minimize loses, patience is needed to know when and where to sell your coins, trading is like gambling and it requires patience.

Glad you now know that trading your coins for extra profits is very risky and I doubt that since you have traded the profits would be greater than your loses, the loses is always bigger and that's why I don't like trading that much, I have seen people claim that trading is good if you are an expert but the truth is that the ratio of uncertainty is very high and that's why practically having a peace of mind and saving your coins will always be better than gambling your precious coins for some temporary profits that if care is not taking will still lose it back in a bad day of your trading session.

To be successful in anything in life patience is a non-negotiable virtue. If you are in a haste to achieve anything, you might not achieve much. The reason why you lost so much in trading was because you don't have the requisite skill and experience to succeed in that area. Many traders in the cryptocurrency market are doing well because they are well-informed. Hodling Bitcoin is another section of Bitcoin Investment and it needs lots of patience because it is profitable when it is kept for a long time. Within the period of keeping your funds, you will face different temptations or pressures to sell your coin that's why patience is important. Trading is the risky part while on the other hand, holding is less risky I would advise to you start holding if you are new in the crypto industry.

Patience is a powerful tool that, when used correctly, pays off. Don't confuse time wasting with being patient because so many people don't understand what it means to be patient. Being patient does not imply that you should not conduct research or learn more about a specific subject matter; waiting to become perfect in it is equivalent to wasting time reaping what you did not sow.

Trading is risky, while holding is less risky, depending on what you choose to hold onto. When you seek professional advice and apply it to becoming the best version of yourself, things will work out for you. There is no magic to learning, and you can only become perfect at something if you practise it consistently. Your patience and hard work have paid off, so enjoy your progress in trading as you strive to improve yourself.

Aside from patience a continuity of solution is a must for someone to learn too. Yes we did some wrong or mistakes in the past of course we learn from that and also we must act and probably not do it again not we already made a mistake and still doing that again what happened on that right?

Anyway newbies will have their own their experience towards this and posting is the best teacher about that and dont ignore criticisim or taken to heart cause learning from mistakes is the best acknowledgement that we are indeed maturing as a user.

Indeed, this forum has been great source of education and learning for all of us and everyone gets to learn a lot over here because name any issue you will be able to find it and it's solution or a way around for that and if not once we post anything on which we need help we get expert advices on it which helps us in making right decision. But it's not only like high ranking members posts knowledgeable stuff but I have seen some newbies sharing really knowledgeable stuffs because they might be newbie into the forum but not to crypto industry. Obviously, there is risk every where one turns but, you’ve got to mitigate what you can when you find it. For OP, having to quite trading for phobia of loss might be it for OP of which, I don’t see how running away from the problem solves the problem. The problem just goes ahead of you to wait for you, that’s what OP haves to realize
Having to quite all you know is one way to forget all you already know.

Even more so, having to leave trading to concentrate on holding Bitcoin isn’t exactly a bad thing, it at least ensures the safety of your coins and you have your mind at ease while trying your hands on other means to earning and acquiring knowledge but, having to quit doesn’t solve the problem..

Indeed, what you did in the past was the biggest mistake any beginner commits, which is entering the field of trading without providing himself with sufficient knowledge, experience, and the necessary tools in order to be able to protect his capital and reap profits. The trading field requires a seasoned trader proficient in technical and fundamental analysis and has strategies and more. Although it is a profitable field, it is high risk and is not taught overnight. It requires effort, time, and access to reliable sources to provide and educate you with all the matters it contains.

As for hodling your currencies with patience, it is indeed an ideal solution. However, you should also not invest all of your capital. If you have enough patience, you have gained one of the magic keys to make you achieve returns from your investments. During this time, you can learn and develop your trading skills, but in the beginning, the experience should be on demo trading accounts until you become qualified to move forward and invest your funds.

Giving up is one of the killers of dream and sometimes, even if things are not going in our favour, we still need to keep going and making sure that we attained a possibly good position that will end us up on good position, instead giving up along the way because of temporary challenges and set backs that comes along the way up, but one more thing that can also influence our giving up thought's is the fact that we need motivation to chase a particular direction, trading requires such motivations.


Trading is like gambling and sometimes we run out of balance to continue gambling, but if we can manage ourselves through that phase, it can result in a more stable and experience build trading journey and future, so persisted is key and motivations is always needed to continue.

Yes and Good advice Sir. Thats right, all research will come back to the response and that is why market conditions must also be measured if we already have big money to trade. Of course, we also have to pay attention, don't be quickly lured by random pumps now and this always happens in altcoins and the price of altcoins can be separated from the price of bitcoin.

Well, in terms of studying it also takes quite a lot of time because if someone is willing to enter and invest in new projects to give us profits plus there is drama in their development so patience is the key for new projects.

Every investment requires Patience but it depends on the kind of investment you want, some investment requires smartness and without the knowledge you can't make any profit, using trading as an example and you actually didn't make any profit, if I may ask what are your trading strategy or you think exhibiting Patience alone will help. In the world of cryptocurrency patience is the power and if don't have patience it can be proven a bad habit well as you aformentionedholding holding is good I would also suggest holding rather than trading because in tranding you have a high risk of losing your funds but in spot holding there is very less risk of losing of fund because you really not need to stay active all the time.

you will only sell your holding on the time when it is giving you profit. Many of people fall prey to FOMO which as in result they do not control their emotions and don't have patience and sell their assets at the wrong points so that they have to face many losses.

We prefer Bitcoin for an easy reason, because all coins go up and down because of Bitcoin, because the market is all driven by Bitcoin, if Bitcoin goes up, Eth,BNB will also go up and all the other altcoins will go up, but if the market is bad, it will go down, then all the coins that are there will come down,

That's why should preferred bitcoin .and Bitcoin is a long-term project if we invest then we can get  more  profiti after few months but the only difference should be this. What we have can be increased if we know what time we should buy it.

Exactly patient is everything you need to do and succeed in the investment journey, because If you can't be patient you can  never succeed many people that lose in crypto investment they are scared to lose all there fund because for example if someone invest 20$ in btc and the price decrease and is investment is balance is showing like 15$ he lose 5$ if he sold it like that but if Is someone that is patient enough he will just leave it for a while, because definitely he will increase and get profit but they think if coin decrease he will not rise again and they will lose all there funds if they didn't sell it like that.

Anything does not come easy for everyone you must work hard before you can achieve your goals. Bitcoin is a simple coin you do not need to suffer because it is the only coin that minimizes your risk because you will never invest in it and claim you were not profitable unless you do not understand the strategic.

Trade what you can offer to lose and don't trade what you don't want to lose. Risky in trading is more than investing in Bitcoin. The only risk I see in investing in Bitcoin is when you invest when Bitcoin price is high and suddenly the price comes down again to the bear market. Therefore I also support the hodling instead of trading. Trading needs serious knowledge and education but investment is not like that.

Trading is not the only option to make profits in the crypto space. You can always chose a less risky path by investing and long term hodling. If you are patient enough, you will certainly succeed in a long term investment without being bothered by sudden market crash that will cause instant price decline.

Long term hodling is as good as trading, but the only difference is that trading can give you instant profits while long term hodling, from the word itself, requires a long duration of time before you start to reap your profits.

That is why it is always advisable to invest bitcoin when the price is low,  when the price has added value very well it is risky to invest. When the price is high,  this is when you need to invest accordingly to what you afford to invest. Investing bitcoin is very easy , while in trading one needs to learn more to make trading go easily. Trading is not for everyone, there are people who are still gaining a lot from trading.
They say Hodl is king, but it still depends on what you are hodling. Not all tokens are for long term, some are just short term, so hodling these short term token might make one end up becoming a bag holder. Be tactical and know what works for you.

Patience is needed in all aspects of what you do in life, you have to walk carefully to get to your destination safely. Luckily you have joined here, the phobia of losses that has been clouding your mind can be overcome after reading several threads that discuss how to invest in Bitcoin safely, easily and profitably.

There is a lot of knowledge spread here, you only need to spend a little time reading threads that will give you benefits to shape your character in Bitcoin investment. Patience is the main capital, next you need to use cold money to invest, when something undesirable happens to the investment, the phobia of loss will not lead you to psychological problems.

There's no doubt that this forum has lifted many of us from ignorance to a good knowledge cryptocurrency. Many things I wouldn't have learnt or known in cryptocurrency are what I have at the tips of my fingers. Reading the posts of established members is one way to learn how to survive in this forum. Actually it depends on the person what kind of trade he wants to do if he wants to do long term trade then he has to wait
If he wants to do short term trading, he can do what is known as daily trading and there is no risk in it, but it depends on each person how he understands trading.
With what method he knows about trading, so to explain what it is, I would like to say that what trading is should be thought and understanding and what is in it requires more patience than holding is needed.

That is coming from a person who is really ready to learn. In this forum, befor you explore you must developed the habit to read than posting because it will give you an insight to understand the beauty of this great forum.

Indeed Bitcoin trading maybe profitable to some, but I believe majority falls to the unprofitable ones. So I believe as you have said this you will continue to learn and put it into practice. Bitcoin investment is far better than trading. It might be difficult because it's slow to achieve, but believe me it will still meet its target. If only you'll be able to hodl for long term. Technical- Helps you to when is the best time you buy and sell. This is to maximize profits and minimize losses.

Because I feel confident when I want to buy for hold, I will still do the analysis. Likewise, when I went out, I also did an analysis. Because there are many who can resist but don't know when the best time out. Because holding back is not only a matter of length of time but of course must have a target.

Cryptocurrency holders and traders if anyone follows the advice of the seniors on this forum he will never lose. But in this short time, I have read several threads on the forum, and it continues. What I see in several threads is that a trader has a lot of risk in trading though there will have cash money. But not everyone can take risks. If someone can't take the risk are encouraged to hold for long time which is definitely profitable. A trader can get small amount from his trading, but a holder can get much more of his investment if he holds for long time. For beginners it is always recommended to gather knowledge. The more time a man spends in learning his range of knowledge will likewise increase.

As long as you're willing to learn in whatever you're doing, you'll grow. That is why this forum is very good. You can come into this forum when you know nothing about Bitcoin, but the more you stay in the forum, you'll get directed to the right places.

I don't have any proof to show the impact this forum has on the growth of Bitcoin, but I know it definitely has a big impact.

Life is all about learning. So in whatever you're doing be ready to learn and improve.
Patience is good, but I feel if it's not applied in the right way it could make you miss out. That means we also have to know when to have patience and when not to.

I'm always happy when I hear someone who is quite diligent in reading and adding insight before they ask questions. Because it is more efficient to ask questions when we have finished reading and have finished digging deeper but haven't found any bright spots. So that's when asking is necessary and must be done.
Most beginners prefer to ask questions directly without exploring first and look for answers independently in this forum where many topics have been created that may have answers for beginners.
But it's still better to have the courage to ask than to be someone who doesn't want to ask but doesn't know anything.

It often happens to me that I buy as many coins as I can and then they drop so low they can't even reach my buying price and then I have to wait for it but this wait is too much for me, I can't do it like this because I want to book my profit as soon as possible, so I think my method is not right because I would sold all the coins that are there, but still they give me a loss, so my personal opinion is that the person should be patient.

I know Bitcoin is a long term stuff but you need to have proper strategy because let's say you have bough Bitcoin in 2017 at $19000 and waiting whole bull run of 2021 and eventually sold at bear run during 2021/2022 for $16k doesn't make sense, eventhough a long term investment but need to plan strategy based on our requirement and we should know when to TP.
