Title: Exmarkets scammed me for 2000 usd
Post by: irfan_pak10 on January 20, 2024, 05:14:56 PM
I don’t know why there is not any scam accusation on this forum against this exchange already. As I tried to search them on Google and found a lot of accusation, they have not been processing any withdrawal and scamming hundreds of people. Still this exchange listed at top platform like CojnMarketCap and other. Why they are not delisting this exchange.

I recently used it for a trade and when I tried withdrawing my 2k plus USD it is still showing pending, from last 3 days. They are not responding to my requests and live chats go unseen until now.

I would like to request all the listing platforms to please delist this scam platform so no other can get scammed.

Edit.
Flag. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2526793

While I agree that Exmarkets should have been delisted long time ago as I saw numerous complains against them on other social media (for exmaple, their telegram group has been abandoned for months and its a spammer's paradise), I don't know how you missed that warning on CMC that says "We have received multiple reports of some users being unable to withdraw their funds. Please exercise caution and do your own research (DYOR)!"

From what I saw, you can basically forget about your money.

You should contact contact CMC.

By the way, here is their account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2526793) so if you raise a Type 3 flag, I will gladly support it.

I used this exchange years ago and traded few coins, and withdrew my funds. For me it was all normal until my withdrawal were pending for few hours. Then I searched about it.

I will surely raise a flag and contact CMC for delisting.

There is at least one scam accusation against[1] them showing in google way back 2019. Knowing that there's little to zero scam accusations against that means that there's almost no users of them here, except you which has not so little amount in there.

...I don't know how you missed that warning on CMC that says "We have received multiple reports of some users being unable to withdraw their funds. Please exercise caution and do your own research (DYOR)!"
I can confirm that's on coinmarketcap

This exchanger has an Announcement thread here in Bitcointalk [1] and their representative account is offline since 2022 with a red tag by yahoo62278, it’s a very clear sign that they are very suspicious and a scam exchanger. It’s late to do a research after using their services and with a large amount of money, at least you could try with 100$ at first.
However, this is a change to warn people about them and tag their account and ANN thread here. Preferably, you should put all screenshots and proofs against this scam platform so people can be sure about what happened to you and back you up.
Lastly, I’m sorry for your loss and this should also be a lesson to you for next time choosing an exchanger or any other service, as we have seen a lot if scam going on and will always stay this way if people doesn’t do researches before depositing funds.

Ever since bibox (pretty much same situation), I've always had a feeling that directories such as CMC and coingecko wants to remain neutral on passing scam hammer as much as possible, possibly for their brand.

Coingecko has delisted Exmarkets however their stated reasoning solely was, it has been inactive

see: https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges/exmarkets

If CMC refused, perhaps you could say this.

Yes, they admitted this 5 months ago on their official account on X, as the ExMarktets platform was legitimate before that; they mentioned the reasons that led to its downfall and transformation into a scam. Unfortunately, they lost their reputation to the wind, and to this day, many cases have been subjected to fraud and are still being scammed by the poor team of this deceitful platform. This is what the platform’s ratings and reviews on Trustpilot (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/exmarkets.com) show and customers' comments on social media.

I feel sorry for what happened to you, sir, @irfan_pak10, and all those affected users. I hope this topic serves as a reference for everyone who still believes this is a legitimate exchange and has not yet discovered the truth.

There are some scam accusations against them only that they weren't quite direct but looking through those accusations, one could clearly get a picture that the exchange had a lot of red flags from earlier on as well.
Like this one (reported exmarkets scam (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5194276.0)

and then they were also accused of listing projects whose intention was to spread malware through their wallets ( ZOPTAX IEO on Exmarkets but Zoptax wallet contain Trojan/Malware (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5160152))
Sorry about that lost money.

I can only add to the pile of "sorry for your loss" - though your money is never coming back for sure.

The account has been inactive for 2years without posting and negative trust ratings already were present, did you check them before trading on their website?
Were they previously functioning properly and you used them that built your trust and they are now starting to not respond to withdrawals? Because a knoweldgeable member of this forum would never "start" using a new exchange like that.

Anyway I supported the flag from my side.

I am sorry about your loss, I think that I heard that exchange years ago but never had any chance to try them since I am mostly sticking to the popular ones because they're likely the ones that won't want to see any stain on their reputation.

I will surely raise a flag and contact CMC for delisting.
You can email them through their report domain, it's not just dedicated to their fake staff reports but for something like this and in general reporting of scammers so that they're going to delist exmarkets on their listings or put some red note and flag on their tab info.

If you think you may have been duped, please submit detailed evidence (e.g. transaction id, chat usernames/chat logs) to report@coinmarketcap.com so that we can investigate and help resolve the situation.

In one of his earlier posts he explained that he used ExMarkets before and he didn't have any issues whatsoever. Unfortunately, that was years ago while they were still a legit exchange and probably that's why he didn't bother to check CMC/Coingecko before using them once again which in the end proved to be a major mistake.

Coingecko already delisted them and CMC has a warning tag.

Thanks, they've said that they received multiple reports about it and that's a good action. IMO, instead of having their tab/listing removed, it's better to leave it like that where there's a note about the warning tag to remind other users if ever someone is going to try to use them and will do his/her research first. And for the other exchanges and projects as well because it helps when they put these warning tags and messages. I just noticed the below markets start with #1 with curve inu with that volume higher than Bitcoin but upon looking at the volume of it on its own page, it tells zero so I guess there is also some ongoing manipulation going on with that exchange aside from unable to withdraw funds cases.
