Post by: dodar on February 13, 2024, 10:16:51 PM
Hi, i have same prbolems to boot my rustberrypi4, it can't read any ubuntu based linux and give "unable to read FAT32".
My microsd is FAT32 and it works when i used it to boot my PC.
How can i fix this?

Perhaps a compatibility issue?
You might not get enough answers here since it's mostly a community about crypto and very few members here use Raspberry devices. Try the discord community of UmbrelOS. They could help you troubleshoot and get you a solution much quicker - https://discord.com/invite/efNtFzqtdx

So you tried more than OS? Did you use Balena Etcher or Raspberry Pi Imager (or other methods)?
Did you try booting without any external storage attached?

If yes then have you tried using a different microSD card?

Also, welcome to the forum!

I've tried everything and I think the problem is that it doesn't recognize the microSD, I'll try with a different SD and I'll update you. Thank you

How did you format your SD card?
Out of the box, most new cards just have one big FAT32 partition, which works fine for basic data storage under Linux.  But if you want to actually boot and run Linux off the card, you need to set up two partitions - a small FAT32 partition for bootloader and a larger EXT4 partition for the root filesystem.

I see that you don't mention what type of storage you use. What disk do you have? Is it an HDD or and SSD? Are you certain that the problem is with the SD and not with the disk?
