Title: What is the highest amount of money you've ever bet in a single game?
Post by: Fivestar4everMVP on February 24, 2024, 06:40:19 PM
Hi guys, I don't know if something like this have been discussed here in the past, a thread a I previously commented on made me curious about this, so I decided to ask here.

It's a pretty forward and simple question, which is...
1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
2. Did you win or lose that game?
3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?

My own answer
To the first question, the highest amount of money I've bet on a single game was around $3000, I bet this amount On a sport match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia in 2022 world cup tournament.

To the second question, unfortunately, the game did not win, so I lose this money unfortunately, was a very bitter experience for me.

To the third question, of course this amount was money I was never ready to lose, but over confidence in Argentina to beat Saudi Arabia made me bet it in the game, but somehow, Saudi Arabia managed to beat Argentina, and this was how I lost that money, till date, this remains the highest amount of money Ive bet bet in a single game, and unfortunately, I lost it.

So, what about you?

I once bet $100 on dice, and that was quite a lot of money for me, in my country that's 2 weeks' wages, unfortunately I lost that money, I did it because of my own greed because when I bet $50 I won and tried with higher bets, that was my bitter experience, from that incident I never bet more than $1 in the game

1. The highest amount of money that I have bet was $500 on the AFCON finals between Nigeria and Ivory Coast. I was so confidence that Nigeria will win the match, because they lucky won Ivory Coast in their last match on the group stage, and I felt that Nigeria had a good defense and a good goalkeeper, that it will be impossible for the Ivorians to penetrate into their defense, but I got everything all wrong.

2. Nigeria lost the game 2-1, after taking the lead on the first half, the Ivorians did a welcome back and scored two goals in the second half.

3. I cannot afford to lose such amount, but over confidence made me to do that, which made me stopped gambling for two weeks, as a result of my actions.

I haven't really stake that big of an amount but I think mine would be just 55$ on a single game of tennis and it's been really long too and the odd was a total of 2.30 odd which was even the bigger odd of the two but I was really certain of the win and the only reason I even used the funds was because I won the money on another soccer parley bet I play and I decided to play it safe with a single game that day and the outcome was something else because the person I stake for lost the game and let me wondering that there is actually nothing like playing it safe when it comes to gambling.

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
The highest amount of money I have used to bet on a single game was around $100 which I placed on a aviator game a few months ago.

2. Did you win or lose that game?
I have also lost the bet but I was expecting to gain something from that bet but the game gave me a loss. I set multiplier at 1.14 If I remember correctly but the airplane of that aviator crashed at less than that and lost $100 bet.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
I wasn't comfortable to lose it but in gambling it happens and we can't do anything. I guess it wasn't a huge amount but still I wasn't comfortable to lose it. I now place very small bets from $1 to $20 on sports events only. Very rarely I place bets on casino games these days.

$3000 for a single match? that's huge. was it bull run that time?  and did you regret it?  one influencer lost $4000 in baccarat and turned into a monster after he lost the amount.  ;D

the highest by far that i bet on a single match was $70 for to crawford vs spence fight. i'm comfortable although the win isn't that much. i was in a hurry in betting since io was only reminded of the day when the fight was to happen. the amount is the only left in my account actually and its meant to gamble so yes i'm comfortable losing it but i won,

It was a long time ago, so I cannot remember the exact amount. I think it was a few hundred dollars worth in btc.

2. Did you win or lose that game?

I actually did win. That was my biggest online gambling win ever.

Quote
3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?

Actually, that was a mistake. I was playing the Martingale strategy on a classic dice game at a crypto casino, and instead of doubling the bet amount, I accidentally clicked on MAX BET. This happened at a time when the casino did not have a pop-up warning before going all-in on a bet.

$3000? You really the big man bro, If you win, but unfortunately you lose  :D

I would be embarrassed if I had to tell you about my biggest bet because I have never bet big in a single game. My biggest bet was only $100, but at first it was only $50. I wanted to end my gambling session because it was late and I was sleepy, I bet my entire balance on blackjack around $50 and I won, next I was all-in once again and planned to withdraw my balance if I won, I bet all-in $100 and of course I lost. I couldn't sleep thinking about the loss, so I decided to deposit another $50 and go all in, but I lost again. Finally I turned off the phone and went to sleep

The same thing you have explained has happened to me too and I lost but that was not as much as you have lost. I really learnt on how to save money and bet wisely. Sometimes when this kind of things have never happened to us, we could think that gambling is as easy as playing the game. Honestly, it's never easy dealing with so many temptations just to keep going.
Greed has been friends with gamblers and when we don't have self control, we easily become a loser due to many attempts to hit a jackpot. There are some games we don't even expect we are going to make money from but the end is always amazing seeing free money but the ones we anticipated for may never bring profits

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
[1]. A $100 slot game in buy spins at Gate of Olympus.
[2]. $75 in sports betting and it's a single bet.

2. Did you win or lose that game?
The slot game lost and only became $25 more if I'm not mistaken.
As for the sports bet, it was a win, because we had analyzed that the team would win.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
Actually NO, but I myself dared to try betting with a lot, but somehow I was willing to lose because the money used was money from other sources.

1. The highest amount I placed on a bet was when I participated in the BCGame Superbowl contest, and the amount was $5.

2. Fortunately, I won the bet. I was quite surprised because I only did less than 5 minutes of research before I proceeded to place the bet, and it still came out well.

3. Yeah, I was very comfortable with it because during the time I was placing the bet, I already thought I was going to lose the game, and I did not set my hopes high, but yet I won, which came as a shock to me.

So, what about you?

I like to think of myself as more of a calculated risk-taker rather than a reckless gambler.  I'm no high roller by any means.  The biggest bet I've ever made was just 50 bucks on some random parlay I took a chance on.  I couldn't believe it when the thing actually hit and paid out big time! I mean sure, losing 50 dollars wouldnt exactly ruin me financially or anything, but it still felt good.  I'm into placing strategic wagers here and there, not wildly chasing ridiculous pipe dreams that are never gonna pan out in reality.

Such a huge risk of $3,000 and unfortunately losing it. Well I remember that match in November 2022 where Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia by 1-2. It was actually a shocker to most people because it was believed to be an easy ride for Argentina.

Anyway, I have not bet much on a single game, non that I can remember. Probably between less than a dollar or a dollar because I'm not a fan of huge staking.

That just shows that nothing is secure in this betting world. Now if Argentina plays another 100 times against Saudi Arabia they will probably win those 100 other times but the sad reality is that they lost that game.On another note that brought them luck as they managed in the end to win that World Cup from the distant time of Maradona so that 2022 was a great experience for them.Saudi Arabia on their side was never expecting this win and it made so much headlines there that the king decided a national holiday that specific day when they won against Argentina.

1.1000 dollars
2. Won 1500
3. I would become bitterly angry if I lost although I won.

I played in a local league game where I live now (Albania)and the game was Dinamo Tirana vs Apollonia Fier (from Albania Super League many years ago)and the first half ended 0-2,I was in the stadium and thought nothing can turn things to 3-2 yet they did it and I won 500 dollars.

This thread is unique one, because many people will remember their past by this thread.Even though you had made the big loss, you had made this thread to save some people from the big loss.Because in many countries the 3000$ is enough for their wedding expenses.Honestly the game may get you little backward, but you may understand this should not be followed in the future. But I thought you never consider this as the scam or bad luck.It look like you had played the game with own responsibility.

1)It’s not the big one,it was 2000$ in total with the 20 games in the casino game. All the made betting was huge multiple game, each term with 100$ as base.
2)My prediction in to the casino had loss all the 20 games, which leads to the 2k dollars loss.
3)Yes,I am.Because it was my trading profit in the crypto currency trading.

Really it was based on the sports betting game,So the odds was failed here.Even though you had enough knowledge in the gambling or sports betting, the time also favours the most important win.But just imagine you had won the game,if the minimum betting multiple of 10x is 30000$ which is ten times of the initial money. This will help you to run the life for next ten years without any economic problems or financial problems in the real life.

A hundred bucks if I remembered it correctly. Well, I don't bet that much since my bankroll is not as large as with the other gamblers. Even if I am being confident with the game or match, I think I wouldn't be increasing my bet that much because I experienced betting more than I can afford to lose because of gambling tips with matches and happened to lose all of it. It took me almost a year to recover from that experience and that gave me a hard lesson to not be too confident with bets. In gambling, nothing's assured especially with winning tendencies. There are other gamblers who are betting more than what I have lost but the point is there already.
Such a huge risk of $3,000 and unfortunately losing it. Well I remember that match in November 2022 where Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia by 1-2. It was actually a shocker to most people because it was believed to be an easy ride for Argentina.

We are just tempted sometimes. It won't happen on a daily basis that you'd be confident of your bet which makes sense if some gamblers would go all out in such instance. This is why I preferred betting with high odds and small amounts, and high rewards. Regrets are a normal thing to feel when things are out of our expectations.

Lolz 😂,
Needless say that your comment got me laughing really hard, owning to the fact that this same thing have also happened to me one several occasions where I bet a small amount of money and win,   bet a small amount of money and win again, I begin to get this feeling like it's possibly my lucky day, in the next bet, I go all in hoping to win again so that my bankroll will be doubled by 1x or even more, and just at that very round, I end up with an empty bankroll, makes my initial winnings look completely like it was a trap the casino set for me, to get me to bet everything so that they can take it all at once  ;D, this mostly happens to me when I'm playing slot or casino games, have also experienced this a couple of times when I was actively playing on l0tt0 - one of the newest bitcoin casino on this forum.

Thanks for making me have a good laugh this evening though, it did lightened my mood.

I have never had the experience of betting a large amount when it comes to gambling because I only have a set amount once I am in front of the bet. I won small amounts even though I didn't bet that much. when it comes to gambling, I always use the amount of money that fits my criteria, I only have a specific or ceiling amount that I should use so that I don't run out of money once I lose.

It has been a while since I betted, I personally like to engage in it when there is a football world cup going on, there is much volume and even people do not usually engage in betting get to wager some money on those matches. The most I have betted was during the final game of the past World Cup, in the final match of Argentina versus France. I went in favor of Argentina with a modest amount of only 20$.
As you many of you most know, Argentina ended up winning that breath taking match, so in the end it was the right call to bet in their favor. I think I could have put more money at stake for that match but usually I don't risk much money at the same time, I would have felt comfortable enough with losing that amount, so I don't regret it.
I have not betted since then, and I don't think I will until the next Football world cup, I will keep my eye on South American Teams, specially Argentina, Brazil and Chile (in the case the latter classifies).  :P

1. $200 on sports betting/ $50 on a single bet on dice and crash with 2x multipler
2. I cant remember but most of the time im on the losign side
3. I cant really tell totally that it is really just that fine since in every session you would really be having that kind of feeling of regret.  :D

This is why it is really that important that you should really be that spending on the amount that you can afford to lose so that you wont really be
thinking up and get stressed by it because this is where people do usually ends up on the time that they will really be having those spendings on which it is really out of their limit.

The highest bet I made was with all my friends so it was a collective bet, long time ago. It was FIFA 2010 and we bet on Spain in the final match and won. Each of us dropped close to $100 into the pool and there were 4 of us, so it was a large bet for all of us. We were students back then so that kind of money was what we'd be spending o 2 weeks worth of food. We were pretty happy but in total, looking from today's perspective, it wasn't a big bet. I don't bet like that anymore, I'm happy with $20 nowadays, even though I have 100 times more money than I had in 2010 and that $20 is probably what I'm ready to lose.

The highest that I've had recently was around $199 I know for some it isn't much.
2. Did you win or lose that game?
I did lose that round it was on a crash game and the round ended at x0
3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
I would be lying if I say yes, but honestly it started with a $30 and I would go all in each time that I would bet, to the point that it got to $199 and it was my last round I was actually going to cash it out, I just decided to play one last game since the previous rounds ended with small multiplier I thought that it would be safe to bet and cash out with small multiplier too but the round ended with x0.

To answer your question, the highest amount of money that I have bet on a single game in the past $100. This bet was on slot games in 2023. Basically, trying out a new online casino being promoted on the forum. Yes, I won or 4x my bet. It was a happy day for me. And I sure spent the money on something vey profitable.

To answer the third question, I already knew the drill. I gambled with money that I could afford to lose and even after I had won. I didn't gamble again for close to 3 to 4 weeks. Because gambling during that period felt like using bits of the money won there again. This was how I thought about it.

$3000? You really the big man bro, If you win, but unfortunately you lose  :D

I would be embarrassed if I had to tell you about my biggest bet because I have never bet big in a single game. My biggest bet was only $100, but at first it was only $50. Lol that's one intense story you got there, it sounds like one of the main red flag and warning sign was that you were losing track of time and feeling tired but you still decided to continue gambling, that's one big red flag that things were getting out of control and failing to acknowledge these red flags would lead you to jeopardy.
Although I can understand why it was hard for you to sleep after such an experience because I've been there before. It's easy to get caught up in the emotion of gambling and it's even easier to get carried away with chasing losses.
But there are so many red flags and it's easy to see them when they come, except you let your  emotions cloud your judgement, and when that happens, it'll be hard to make any sensible decisions.

My biggest bet in one game was $250, but that was the buy freespin bonus feature on a slot machine, I bought the freespin bonus on buffalo king megaways slot machine after I got maxwin from $20 buy bonus freespin. I was just curious what it would be like to buy a bonus feature with a big stake, so I did, and it was only a one-time purchase. I don't remember how much the free spins were but if I'm not mistaken I got about 80% of my buy in so it wasn't too bad and I was pretty happy with it.

I don't think you should risk more than $100 at the beginning of the game. The higher the stakes, the more likely you are to lose your bank quickly. That's why I bet a little - up to 100 dollars. And then the size of my bets depends on the success of my strategy and how much I managed to win. So, you will go further, you will go farther

300 usd I think? It was pretty recent since back then I think the max bets I did was $100 or $200 as the biggest. It was with the 2023 World's quarterfinals with GenG vs BiliBili. Voted for GenG, ended up losing 2-3. I was so sad about the loss back then that I didn't really bet afterwards even though T1 had a pretty solid and amazing run throughout the quarters and semis, could've recouped some of my losses if I tried to bet them winning on the finals.

Definitely not an amount I was comfortable losing. I guess it came to be as a reward since there was a pretty hefty bonus at my work at the time so I was like, hell, why not. Blew it all at once lmao.

I couldn't recall the exact amount, but I know the highest amount i've risked in a single bet was around the hundreds ($200-$500) and it was for an esports match. It reached that point because my bankroll grew so much after a perfect week with only a few losses. My bet won, and it was close as the team was only slight favorites by the bookies.

It's an amount that i'm not prepared to lose, and I only pulled that risky move because it was mostly made up of my wins. There's always that confidence building up once you start winning a lot and it pushed me to place one of the biggest bets that could've made a big hole in my bankroll.

Once and at that time it happened because I was emotional while playing dice, and at that time I was not married and I was fighting with my girlfriend.
I used $75 to play dice and at that time I played in an emotional state because I always remembered the fight that happened with my girlfriend while playing, and from $75 I won around $600 if I'm not mistaken. And strangely these emotions can play a role in my dice game and I win more often than I lose and I also always double my bets. And when I remembered his hurtful words, I became more emotional and when my winnings reached almost $600, I went all in and ended up losing it all.
And for me now, losing $20-$30 in gambling is a big deal for me. Because nowadays I only bet a few dollars on the weekend just for fun after 5 days of tiring work. There is another reason because I already have a family that I have to prioritize, and currently I only gamble when there is an urge to gamble by spending a few dollars on the weekend.

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
2. Did you win or lose that game?
3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
1. $500 on Gates of Olympus (Buying bonus).
2. Lose few times and won once which cover the previous losses.
3. Yes, because the money I use to make that bets came from profit, I managed to make $2,500+ profit from few tens dollar deposit.

After that time I never made any bigger bet, because there is no more luck for me to win big from small deposit. Betting more than $50 in one bet is just above my betting limit. I'll only able to bet over $50 when I won big from my small deposit as I will never bet more than that from my initial deposit.

The highest amount i have ever used in gambling was about $4. Back then was 2000 naira in gambling am not certain though but it was withing this rang that i used. I was not earning much because i was still a student. So, i took out some money from my monthly upkeep sent to me by my parents to gamble. Although that was the period i started gambling after my friend introduced me into football betting.

I lost in that game. But i didn't feel bad at all. Since i understood before time that i may win or lose. Definitely 2000 naira wasn't an amount i could lose without thinking about it later. That amount was enough to buy some textbooks and feeding for some days back then. However, i was comfortable losing it because at that period i had enough at my disposal.

My highest bet in a game, where I bet in an NBA finals 2017 where the match is against GSW and Cleveland, I bet approximately $300 dollars on the side of GSW because, based on their plays, they more likely have higher chances of winning, and the game was too thrilling because of the game and also because I bet a huge amount of money, and yes, luckily I won because GSW is the champion of that NBA finals that year. It is my first and last time I will bet such an amount in a single game, and how much am I willing to bet right now? Only $100–$200 is my limit, my lowest and highest amount that I could bet on. I may have won the higher amount I bet, but still, the feeling of anxiety and worrying is not what I like. I would rather bet another huge amount if I'm sure about the outcome of the match.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
snip
If counted in one session, the most I used to gamble was more than $500 in the past and yes, of course I lost hahaha, it was very annoying and felt quite lost because I was carried away by the atmosphere and emotions that wanted to win and return the money I had lost the first $300 and realized again after losing more because of the abisi.

Yes if you count the day, maybe more than 1000 dollars on that day, yes the regret is quite deep because with that amount of money in my country can already buy a motorcycle to take a walk LOL, maybe if I use that money to buy SHIB, I am today a Milliarder. LOL

It was really stressing to lose on game after putting in more key time to prepare the basic odds. The space is broad, you know that means, there's enough money to go round, exactly more reason why we shouldn't get involvement in problems or physical fights, I do my best to avoid these problems but they just keep appearing on my screen and you know I'm helpless in this situation. When we single-handedly fund our betting account, we just become more careful with the system because even the slightest opportunities does bring problem.

Each gambler will have their own source of income and of course the amount of income for each gambler will always be different, after all, each gambler will have their own needs too.
Regarding gambling, there will always be limit or nominal amount of money that is intended for gambling, we will never be able to find more dominant similarity in context like this.
There are those who really have fresh money to gamble in large amounts and can increase it to any amount, there are also those who only limit the amount of money to relatively small amount.
And the most important thing is that we can accept that the money intended for gambling must be lost, this is must for every gambler.

I myself used to be gambler who was quite careless because I was always trying to chase victory, but the amount of money bet in one match or game was no more than $30 to $50.
But if we talk about longer period of time in each betting session, it will be bigger because in each game or each match there is an increase in the amount I make.

Win or lose, it is clear that losing will only be the most guaranteed result so that in every gambling session there will always be a greater number of losses, this is why I have made mistakes quite often in the past by trying to recover losses and increase bets.

If it is the amount of money that I have spent and have really lost, then like it or not I have to be ready to accept that it will be lost, only when the amount is too large there is desire to be able to get back the money that has been lost.

I believe I'm understanding where you're coming from. Seems the risk of losing money isn't the only problem but also the mental stress and anxiety that accompanies gambling, especially when you're losing, sometimes you can't help but feel like you're being targeted or taken advantage of.
Even the ads that bombards your phone from a gambling site while you're gambling, makes it even difficult for you to enjoy the game, and it's almost impossible to focus on the fun and excitement when you're feeling stressed out by these experience.

let me answer a few of your questions

•I don't remember the biggest amount I ever bet in one game but I remember recently I often bet around $ 100 on each spin in roulette games and also in sports betting but at that time I was lucky so I continued to bet the same amount the same.
•of course win, as I said before I bet $100 like I was on a lucky streak for several sessions and finally I lost again even though my winnings had reached almost $700+ but ended up losing half of the winnings.
•yep, of course I have given a definite budget for betting every week and the budget actually just the remainder of last week's budget which was a small win and I add to the following week's budget until the budget for gambling becomes more.

whatever I say, this just about experience, not giving examples or advice to anyone and remain a responsible gambler, bet with money you can afford to lose and most importantly, don't be tempted by big wins.

Using more than $100 to place a bet in a single game or more is not a good idea. We should place a bet using the money we can afford. But if you think you can afford to lose more than $100, you can do that. But don't regret it if you lose all of the money in a short time.

1. $1 is the highest amount of money I've used to bet on a single game in the past.
2. I can only reach my break even using that bet amount.
3. Right now, I can only afford to use less than $0.3 to lose.

I can't afford to use a big amount to gamble because I often lose in gambling games.

Betting is risky, we have to make sure there's enough reasons for our profits and losses. I was very interested in gambling but it turns out it comes with repercussions, losing streaks was the results and I wasn't ready to start crying over my heavy losses. The huge money gambled on a single game was $500 bucks from my end. I wasn't afraid because confidence surrounded me and there's no how you would tell me that Chelsea will lose against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final, though City dominated the game fulltime but always failed to win.

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?

My highest amount of money that use to bet on a single game is 375$. It’s almost equivalent to 75% of my monthly salary at work.

Quote
2. Did you win or lose that game?

Luckily I win this bet with 250$ profit. I made a thread for this bet before due to the intense experience that I feel that time. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5471636.msg63053425#msg63053425

Quote
3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?

Around 1$ to 5$ is my comfortable amount. Any amount above that will make me enter to serious mode when betting. The last time I lose around 100$ makes me tilted to betting using the highest amount of bet that I mention on Q1. I rarely bet using significant amount but I always do hardcore whenever I’m on dire situation.

The highest amount of money that I bet on a single game is only around $200, I have bet on a sure thing and managed to not lose the money I have risked. Then thankful that I did win because I might go crazy because that's not the amount of money I'm willing to lose. It's just a spur of the moment that I wanted to just try that kind of amount. Not very comfortable if I lose it.

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
2. Did you win or lose that game?

So, what about you?
One thing I've noticed is that gamblers do not always follow the rules of gambling and investments strictly which state that we should gamble with only the amounts of money we can afford to lose. I am one of the advocates of such reasonable advice, but I am however guilty of it because I do not often apply such especially when the match is crucial and the winning team is obvious, and also with reasonable odds.

Just like the last Champions League match between Manchester City and Inter Milan, to be honest, my mind of over 90% chance that Man City would win was unwavering. So, I put aside the good advice and I wagered based on my instinct, even though it would hurt me if I lost that money.

To buttress this, below are my answers to your questions:

1. My highest amount betted on gambling was about $250 judging by the exchange rate conversion at the time I made the bet.

2. Yes, I won the bet. I earned slightly more than the double of the money I wagered.

3. Heck no, I would cry if I lost that money...lol. I only followed my instinct and risk affinity at that time. This is about the 4th time I would do such a thing and I am happy to say that I won all my big risks. It's also worth saying that they are all in football betting.

The largest amount I bet at one time in gambling was $150. Yes, I know that this is a little bit like it will turn out to be for many forums, but for me it was quite a lot of money. I was a student and put them on black in the black-red game.

2. Did you win or lose that game?

Unfortunately, it turned out red and I lose those 150 dollars, and somehow I remembered it for the rest of my life.
Although I still always bet on black.

In fact, I couldn’t bet this amount, since then I had to save for half the month, but I think everyone who was at least a little interested in gambling had similar situations. Now I think it would be better to play poker or roulette. Or maybe it would be better if I made a sports bet.

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
I think less than $100 throughout my gambling history.

2. Did you win or lose that game?
Yeah I lost that game right away that is why the next time I gamble I become very cautious in placing my bets. That was my biggest regret to be honest.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
No, I just feel very cocky that time or has this feeling of being lucky but the opposite has happened and I got a chill that time I don't know what to do and adrenaline and disappointment is very intense. It took me I think a month for me to move on since I always think of the money I just wasted because to be honest I cannot afford to lose that money but what done is done.

On sports betting $200-$300, when it comes to slots bonus buys I had some buys over $500. I had some crazy bets on in-house games as well, but who can recall all of them... a few days ago I bought a No Limit Mental bonus for $400. I won $15 in 13 spins. So many of those big bets were a total disaster, but I had some great hits. Gambling life is full of ups and downs.

Nobody likes to lose, but when we decide to deposit some money and gamble with it we need to be ready to lose it. That's why we need to deposit only money we are ready to lose, in gambling things can go in the wrong way in seconds.

In recent time I have staked $25 once and yet I lost. and I have never spend that kind of money before on gambling and it made me feel so angry that I thought I would have used the money to settle some bills which could have been important to me, than spending it on gambling. That is how Gamblers always feel when they lost the game. But if they win they think of not staking higher than that.

I gamble with any amount that am just able to afford at the moment of my gambling. If I want to use $10 to gamble and I want to bet on two games, I can just decide to gamble with $5 for each of the game and I might end up to lose the money. Anytime I have less money, then I can decide to stake a small amount of $0.5 on each game so that I can just win small amount too.

Indeed. Gamblers can be devastated not just by the loss of money, but also by the missed opportunity to use that money for something else. So it's not just about the cash loss, but also about the emotional and psychological consequences of losing that money. It's as if you're losing not only the money, but also the opportunity to do something else with it.
I believe this is a frequent experience among gamblers all over the world.

. Nigeria lost the game 2-1, after taking the lead on the first half, the Ivorians did a welcome back and scored two goals in the second half.

3. I cannot afford to lose such amount, but over confidence made me to do that, which made me stopped gambling for two weeks, as a result of my actions.

So many people had placed huge bets on that match hoping that Nigeria would come out victorious. Like we all had similar plans and no one had planned for a back up net just Incase Nigeria had lost of which they eventually did. I myself had placed a bet of over 200$ and my odds lol they messed up my game. I was already crying when at second half they equalized the match. I just switched off my TV and went to bed because from the very start of the !watch I had saw the way Ivory Coast were playing and to me they had more shots on target compared to Nigeria eagles. I guess next time we have such matches. So many Nigerians won't be so confident to place huge Amount on one team.
I have other bets I have placed huge amounts but most times it's better from experience I would advise anyone to split their games just in case to avoid losses that are inevitable.

The highest amount I've bet was probably only $50 on a single event - a horse race. This was after earning a bunch of cash by taking advantage of welcome bonuses at many websites and seeing a promotion for horse racing. After only doing football betting before that, the odds available on horse racing seemed huge in comparison and enticed me in. However the bet failed and taught me that horse racing betting is highly risky and I didn't have a clue how to do it properly. It was definitely one of those painful memories that established that I prefer not to lose money on sports betting and now I keep bets much smaller, it means that the wins will be much smaller but it's purely for entertainment anyway.

The biggest bet for me was a very long time ago, it was about 10 years ago, and I decided to bet my entire deposit because I wanted to win back what I lost. The funny thing is that it was on roulette and I played according to the Martin-Gail strategy, lol (there’s probably still something good in it, but that’s not for sure). So, after several unsuccessful bets in a row, I decided to do it and bet $600, which was crazy money for me at that time. My hands were shaking and my head could explode from overexertion and anxiety, it was a huge range of all feelings, cold sweat broke out. But it was good that I managed to win, after that I didn’t do anything like that. I didn't want to walk on the knife's edge anymore. But now I know, not from hearsay, what it is, and I only sympathize with those who want to repeat such experiences again.

I think my biggest amount of money I have ever bet was around a thousand (why around - because it was in BTC and by the time they got into my account, it was ~980 already) in crypto, and 30 EUR in fiat. I can say that placing a 30 EUR bet was much easier than $1k. Even with a 1.05 odd, I was very nervous when I have bet $1k. It was a football match and I have placed on last minutes. Then the ref added extra time and I felt really uncomfortable, even when the match ended and I have won and waited for amount to be added to my balance. Those 15-20minutes of stress were enough to stop placing such large bets once and for all.

I could remember betting $50 on slots and I lost it all, normally I always go lower but that day I just increase the wager, which was a bad move, I could have use the fifty dollars to go few rounds but I lost the money, the following week I went back to my old self, using $20 and spinning as lower as I can.

Betting can be a total disaster for you if you don't know what you are doing in the side of maintaining your bankroll, you must be very careful about what you are risking, if you are already doubting then you are about to risk what you can't afford to lose, don't try to confuse yourself that you are wrong.

I've accepted that in gambling, you will always lose more and gain less, you just have to keep moving on with the cheapest amount you can, until your lucky day is around the corner, no gambler likes to lose money, think about what will unfold if the money is gone before even placing a bet.

I remember this has been discussed before, but this issue has always really gotten a lot of people's attention.
Answering question from OP,

1. I don't remember the exact number but it was about $1000 for the bet at that time.
2. I won, and recovered a profit of nearly $1500.
3. It was a sports bet, I was really ready to lose that money, but I remember the feeling at that time that winning was more in my mind than the thought of losing money.

Yep, being ready for every situation is really important. With gambling, nothing is really certain, as the amount of money played can be lost, which brings a comfortable mood, and also helps us stay alert to make decisions.

Gambling works like an addiction for me. Although we know that gambling addiction is harmful, sometimes we indulge in it too much.
The last time I bet was on the 2023 Cricket World Cup, which was the 13th edition of an international cricket competition. The match was held on November 19, 2023, between Australia and India in the final. I placed my maximum bet of $200 on the game. The match was very exciting, and finally, luckily, I won my bet as Australia won and took the World Cup.
It was my life, although Australia was playing great, but the game was a breathtaking match for me, as I was never ready to lose my money. I was risking a lot, and finally, thank God, I was winning.

Usually I don't like to bet large on a single game, I would rather bet 5 times smaller amounts than one big bet. For me the risk seems to high to put all my money in one single bet. When I was younger I didn't have such strict rules about sports betting and was placing bigger wages. I think my biggest bet was 100 euros back in university when I didn't have a lot of money. It was a quite unrisky bet which I won, but the payout was only 10 Euros. Losing that bet wouldn't have been terrible, but still hurt me a lot. I probably would have to stay at home for three weeks and not eat outside or have a few beers.

It's a pretty forward and simple question, which is...
1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
Yesterday's World Cup in Qatar 2022, has made me brave enough to make the decision to bet at some point on sports betting sites, especially those that have football tournament betting, they have braved me with a nominal bet of $2000 which is the highest I have ever made yesterday at four crypto casino points and distributed 4 sites at $500 each, I won on three sports betting sites and one lost, because I placed a betting position on France, I still believe in Messi against Argentina yesterday, it was proven that Argentina won the penalty shootout.

2. Did you win or lose that game?
As I explained above.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
Of course it's a bitter decision if you lose, I was lucky not to bet $2000 at one point, so I had to let go of one bet being lost, three coming back to me.

I'm not too deep into sports betting as well as some other types of gambling, I'm one of those gamblers who can be said to be less active in gambling activities, and I will only gamble when I really want to do it and when I have free time, but I remember the highest amount I've ever allocated to gambling is $15 on a type of slot game that has been quite busy in my area lately and I'm like you OP in which there is absolutely no good result in the sense that I lost that amount in 1 hour.

On the other hand I was quite surprised to see that people here lost such a large amount I think like you did, because for myself I always put no more than $5 in each bet and therefore I would say that $15 is the highest amount I have ever allocated, and losing is a frustrating situation because as I said I usually bet relatively small amounts, because risk management is more important to me.

- I remember betting $2,000 in a single game on Satoshimines.
- I lost the game within a minute. I was not in control and let my emotions take over. I bet all $2000 in a single reckless bet, hoping to get lucky and win.
- I wasn't comfortable losing the amount I did, but my emotions got the best of me, and I regret it now that I lost the money in the game. It only took less than a minute to lose it all.

1- It was around $500.
2- Yes I lost it.
3- No. I wasn't ready for it. It was a dumb decision by me. I could have used that $500 for something more productive but that's the thing with gambling. I wouldn't have complained had I won the bet. Since I lost, now I can complain all I want. I wish I've done that, I wish I've done this.

Now I don't really bet big anymore. $100 at most and that's still a rare occurrence.

Didn't you think that $500 would be a bet between winning and losing it all?
Or something influences your mind to keep betting and not think about the risk of losing that will occur.

$500 is a large amount and can be capital to trade, but if it goes into gambling it is just small money, and it could just be $5k or even $0 like what happened to you.

In fact, you are now allocating $100, and I hope you can also accept losing it when the bet is not what you wanted.

I myself was never over $50, and I was indeed timid and did not dare to put a lot of money into gambling.
Just enjoy as entertainment and a little allocation that I use.

I'm not a big gambler, my average amount per bet is no more than $1 for casino games such as slot, plinko, keno, dice, etc.
For sports betting, my biggest bet was no more than $100 and I did it long time ago (Euro 2016 event) IIRC.
I did that bet because I won a contest by new sports betting site and I think I will not bet that much from my own pocket.
Luckily I won the bet (parlay bet) with odds 5x, so I made a good profit and I do not make more bets bigger than $50 in sports betting till now.

I can only how difficult losing that amount of money in single bet must have been for you, especially when you played what appeared like a sure match. I have had terrible experiences taking high risk in matches that appeared to be sure but. What I have noticed is that those matches have this way of making us feel bad by failing to deliver. At some point such failures had made me to consider quitting gambling because I was thinking that if I could not win such a bet, then there was no hope of winning. It only takes a little while from the moment of the loss before one forgets and continue with gambling as if nothing happened.

The worst experience is to gambling with an outrageous amount that can make someone feel terrible if it does not work out. I try not to be in such situations where I will have to invest huge money in gambling that I will not have peace within myself. I do not really like such situations and I do my best to avoid getting to that point.

The highest amount of money is too small for me to talk about it, I am already aware of the dangers that awaits every gamblers that plan to gamble, most times the money you take out of your pocket isn't coming back ever again, this is why I only risk small amount of money every time.

I've also won some money using small amount of money, and there is no other better feeling like it, I was always careful and I was able to still make some money, it's the best feeling to me, knowing that it's very hard to win a casino most of the time, I don't have the balls to start risking money as if its bitcoin investment.

Sometimes I feel like I have had enough, that's when I keep losing my small amounts many times over, I will erase gambling from my schedule for few weeks and I will try when I feel like I have missed gambling, I strongly believe that this should be the way to become a gambler, it's all about luck, always remember this.

1.)Around 100$ on single bet on NBA pick during finals. This is my highest amount of bet since I’m only using minimum bet when playing games like slots and table games. The only time I can bet huge amount is on sports betting if I knew the match well.

2.) I win the game. The odds on my bet is below 1.5 while I analyze carefully the match before I place the bet. I have high confidence on my bet that’s why I bet huge amount outside my normal bet size.

3.) 0.1-0.2$  :D. That’s the minimum bet on slot games which I’m comfortable to lose on a single bet.

Like I said, I don't wager $100 every time I play. It is a very rare event. Like 1 bet in every 30 bets maybe. (I usually do it when there is a big game like world cup finals or champions league finals) Normally my wagers are around $5-$10. I guess somehow I learned to control my greed.

When you think about it is not the amount that is important. It is the percentage that really matters. If $500 was 1% of my monthly income, then It wouldn't cause any problems.

Like you said gambling should stay as a form of entertainment only. The moment we think that we can get rich from it, it gets dangerous.

As for me, I don't actually gamble with real money, but I can definitely relate to the thrill of a close call. My biggest "bet" was probably staying up way too late debating philosophy with a bunch of chatbots – intense, but definitely not the kind of loss that keeps you up at night.

Winning on that first blackjack must have felt amazing, but then going all-in twice... But that would keep me tossing and turning. Chasing wins, especially when you're tired, is like driving a car with blindfolds on – not the best idea.

Remember, gambling should be fun, like a night out with friends, not a desperate search for treasure. Setting limits, knowing when to quit, and maybe even leaving your phone on silent when you're sleepy are all ways to keep it chill.

Back when Bitcoin was trading around $10k, I put down about 0.01 BTC on a sports bet.  At the time, it was equal to around $100 - not an insignificant amount for me.  Of course, I ended up losing it all and  looking back now with how much a single Bitcoin is worth, putting that much money down on a sports wager probably wasn't the sharpest move.  But I was okay with the potential loss at the time and don't really regret it.

I'm just a small gambler, maybe my biggest bet at that time was around $50 and even then I got it from the free money given by the casino a few years ago and I rolled that money in the casino dice game with a multiplier of 1.98x until I got $100 then I bet all in sports betting matches and the final result was a draw, I lost that free money, but I never regretted it because I thought I could get free money again someday the most important thing was to feel a different adrenaline rush than I felt using my own personal money.

If asked whether I use money that is ready to be lost, of course it is certain because as I said I am not a rich person spending tens of dollars just for one bet because I prefer to bet smaller bets to extend the duration of the game, so I play with bets the smaller ones are just because the casino gives me free money, I will bet it all until I get 10x the amount of money I get then I will withdraw it, but in the end I experience defeat and lose that money, at least I have tried using bets that are bigger than usually. it will be a meaningful experience for me.

The highest amount of money I've bet in a single bet was also the highest sum of money I lost gambling... I was playing dice with the maximum winning chance allowed by the house, with low odds. It looked a perfect opportunity to make easy and safe profit, since I was already coming from a loss streak of two bets, so it was unlikely the next bet would also result in loss, therefore I put 0.1BTC on the line in order to recover previous losses and still guarantee some profit. However, for my surprise, I lost it all at once....

I felt shocked on the moment, and confused on what to do next. The only thing I knew is that I shouldn't spend anything else with gambling, even though I felt tempted into doing so in several moments after that in order to chase losses. Slowly, I assimilated the situation and told myself to recover this money someway else without risking my money on gambling.

Thankfully I still had funds to invest and recover my loss through passive income investment. I did it successfuly, so I consider myself free to gamble once again, although I'm still fearful due to this previous negative experience.

In the past my maximum single bet was $450 but there I bet against relatively low odds and if I lost there I would lose big and even if I won my return would be small. Winning and losing in betting is uncertain but still a gambler strives to win. I gamble often and I understand very well that the money I will bet is unreliable. I can never be sure on gambling. I try to bet money that I can afford to lose. When I bet $450 I had a lot of questions because there was a fear of losing.

I really like your approach where you told that you put only 1$ in each bet and no more than that. This is really amazing as even if you lost the game or the bet, you will only lose a dollar. This will never make you feel depressed in case you lost the bet. However, some people may say that playing each game with one dollar will lower your chances of winning big amount from gambling but at the same time we should understand the risk of losing big part of our portfolio also decreases with this approach.

Again, this amount vary from person to person as sometimes you can play with 100$ on a bet and that is fine if your portfolio is so big that losing a $100 will have no big impact on you. However, just as an example, if anyone has a 1000$ portfolio then it is not good for this to bet 10% of the total portfolio (that is 100$ in this case) on as single bet.

Wow! That's a big amount and sorry for your loss there.

About the questions.
$10+ in a Plinko game. It was actually not meant to happen but I made a mistake on counting zero and I think I am a bit dizzy on that day. I was using Bitcoin as a means of betting at that time and once I saw my graph moving drastically, I stopped the autobet feature quickly. I am a bit lucky that it didn't go to zero. More like an ROI only for 5 bets or maybe I lost some.

I was not ready to lose that kind of amount. Most of the time I am only betting $0.01 to $0.1 in Plinko and I let it run for a long time. It was just a mistake that luckily I was able to see before it wrecked my balance.
IMO, it's difficult to win against casino games even if you run it for a long time which is why I am just focusing on the wagered amount and maybe I can get back my money through rakeback, weekly bonus, and monthly bonus.
I am more focused on winning in sports betting even if the multipliers are low. That's where I actually put more money in the pot because the winning chance is higher than it is with is casino games.

I don't bet a lot anymore but I can still recall what's my highest bet is, it's back then when I was still a student and I bet on a PBA Finals, can't remember the name of the teams that are fighting although I do remember that it was the San Miguel Beermen that got the Philippine Cup which would be around like 2014 or 2015 I think. Back then I was saving for something that I can't recall now but I've bet like 15 or 20 USD on the Beermen and it did net me a really huge amount of money of win because my stupid classmate gave me an odds that's totally in their favor because he really thought that it's going to be Alaska which understandable as they're a powerhouse back then and wouldn't you know it, I got the win and it was a close one at that but they did it. Maybe it's not a lot for many of you but when I gamble, I make sure that I don't risk a lot of money as much as I can because I want to get as much value out of it as I can and that much money back then was worth a lot for a student like me.

Personally, I've never bet a large amount of money in a single game because I prefer to bet what I can afford to lose and to also practice responsible gambling. Well, it's understandable that some people are comfortable or likes to take bigger risks, and it's fine as long as it's done responsibly. And we should always keep in mind that gambling should be seen as a form of entertainment than seeing it as a way of making money.

Lolz 😂,
Needless say that your comment got me laughing really hard, owning to the fact that this same thing have also happened to me one several occasions where I bet a small amount of money and win,   bet a small amount of money and win again, I begin to get this feeling like it's possibly my lucky day, in the next bet, I go all in hoping to win again so that my bankroll will be doubled by 1x or even more, and just at that very round, I end up with an empty bankroll, makes my initial winnings look completely like it was a trap the casino set for me, to get me to bet everything so that they can take it all at once  ;D, this mostly happens to me when I'm playing slot or casino games, have also experienced this a couple of times when I was actively playing on l0tt0 - one of the newest bitcoin casino on this forum.

Thanks for making me have a good laugh this evening though, it did lightened my mood.
That is what you see when gou want to over do somethings at times, knowing fully well avout the riak of gambling and hilow you have high possibility to lose all, you still think you win all because you believe is your luck day, this have happened to almost everyone most especially those who are yet to make up their mind to gamble along their lay down principle line.
I was once a victim of this kind of loses and when i did mine it was on a bet on sport game, just one pick and i slotted in almost $150 just to hit it big and at once, but I became unlucky and when the bet goes lost I felt very bad that I lost almost two months wages in my country's.
It took me a really long time to get over those feelings and since then, I vow never to gamble along the greed line again and I set a limit for everything since then sometimes it's like that, you win some and you lose some, and the bet that you will win you can never know neither will you know the one that you lose, so betting along the principle line becomes the best form of betting for anyone to practice to stay safe with your bankroll.

I think it's around $400-$500 but I'm playing with EOS and if I can remember, it was from EOSBet (Not sure if they still exist) and I'm playing BlackJack. I don't usually bet that high in a single bet but I think I just did in that moment because of my emotion as I started playing with only a $100 and now I have at least $2000 and I'm on the lose streak and what I did is that I use a martingale method to caught up with my losses or to recover it but lucky I won on that bet (because after that bet it will only leave me $50-$70).

After that game, I just realized that if I lose, that's really big amount of losses luckily I won.

It's also an amount of money I can't afford to lose so it's impossible for me to spend that amount of money on one bet unless it's the result of a previous win, and you're so brave as to bet money you can't afford to lose because there's no certainty of winning. In gambling, even betting at odds of 1.01, the chance of losing is still there, the risk is even greater than the profit you will get.

So, what about you?
As far as I remember, it was only tens of dollars for one bet and that wasn't often unless the previous bet made a profit so they were interested in betting bigger.
As far as I remember, it was also in the Qatar World Cup match and managed to win and the last one was the NBA bet and also managed to win but the results of the other bets were not good so the total profit was not big.
In one bet I will not bet more than tens of dollars but the total I can risk is not more than $200, but this is not from the deposit but the results from previous wins, this is my strategy because I don't want to lose much in the casino.

I forgot how much my biggest bets so far. I don't think $5 is the biggest bet for most gamblers but that is biggest  for me if we say about one bet. Usually, I use the smallest bet on one games, slot for examples, and by using smallest bet, I can playing gambling for some time and enjoying the time. Using enough money to gamble with the smallest bet is enough to fills my spare time in gambling because that's the money that I can afford. I never tried to increase my bets as that can cause me losing much money.

Of course, if we talk overall, everyone has different levels of financial ability. and although this may be the highest amount I have ever wagered in gambling, it could be the lowest amount for someone whose level of financial ability is far above mine.

As for the amount I have ever spent gambling, 300 USD is the largest amount I have ever spent betting on a type of slot gambling. Where with 237 USD I used it to buy skaters and the rest was used to bet on regular rounds. However, it was very unfortunate, the final result was very disappointing, where the result of buying the skater was only 150 USD, and in total it meant I lost half the money I bet, and because I didn't feel confident enough to continue the game, in the end I chose to withdraw from the game to just rest and regretted that. Even now, I no longer intend to bet on quite high betting amounts, at this time I bet on relatively low amounts. And you need to know that 150 USD is the same as my wages for one week of work.

I think my biggest stake would be 1 million Naira in my local currency, that was for a single ticket parlay, that was back in 2020 IIRC, I'm sure it was before they called an halt to all NBA matches then because of the COVID-19 widespread, the bet was on 4 game parlay on NBA matches and it was around 5 Odds or thereabout, as of this time the USD equivalent of 1 Million Naria was approximately 400 Naira per USD, so that bring my stake to be about $2,500 precisely.

The highest amount I've played in a single bet is $150 and it was after I received a huge amount of money as pay-off for a construction company I worked for after the project was over and I lost the money but I didn't feel it as at that time because I had about $1000 in my account but it was when I almost exhausted the $1000 and I couldn't get any other job after then I started feeling so stupid for staking$150 at a single bet though I can't try that now as I've corrected some mistakes I made in the past because I normally play with the mentality that if I lose I would just take it like taking friends out for a drink and spend some whole lots of money.

You know sometimes, due to huge amount we have in our account some persons do use because of that and start staking huge with the mindset that they still have enough money left but as time goes on and you are losing conspicuously that's when you would know that staking huge is very bad especially when nothing is generating income for you as even if you have millions in your account you might finish everything while trying to win and cover up.

1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?

The highest amount I have used to gamble is $8000 and I have used this amount to gamble on different occasions. I can stake less than this amount but I don`t try to gamble more than this amount because it will affect my finances and savings if I don`t win.

2. Did you win or lose that game?

Sometimes I win and other times I lose. I only gamble on weekends with a target of only 2odds. This means any weekend I win I make a profit of $8000+. So far, I am ahead of the bookies. Weekends are always times for me to gamble and hope for winning.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?

Yeah, of course, $8000 is an amount I am always ready to lose. I only gamble with an amount I am prepared to lose because when I stake a game I have conceived in my mind already that I have lost it and so I only throw away amounts that will not affect my emotions and mental health.

3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?

...
1 $200

2 lose

3 no, I'm not ready to lose the money I bet, because I play based on passion and emotion, it makes me realize the destruction in real gambling if we can't control ourselves, from that incident I only gamble with money I can afford to lose

Had a 300k FUN bet riding on Bayern at one point during the end of 2023. They won the game, and I managed to cash 170k out, which is the most I managed to win as far as crypto gambling goes too, excluding slots and other games tho. Needles to say that I was so tense throughout the whole game, and to this very day I don't understand how can some people bet so much, the stress would literally kill me lol

I've noticed that the answers to first and third questions are different, while they should be the same. This looks illogical to me, when person bets more than he could afford to lose. In my vision, when person places a bet, he should prepare himself first, that he wont get that money back. Should not consider them to be lost (that is incorrect concentration on a result), but consider them to be spent. Otherwise it looks strange when someone bets $10 and can allow himself to lose it. What is the point of placing such a bet then? From such actions, negative attitude to gambling rises.

First, the highest money I have ever bet in a casino is about $40. It was my highest amount because I was told that it was a sure bet from an insider. I took my entire weekly earnings and placed it on a single bet with a strong expectation to win. Second, I didn't just lose the money, I lost it woefully because the game didn't come close to winning. I felt so bad that I was angry with my colleague who introduced me to the bet. Lastly, I was never ready to lose such an amount because it was far above my budget. I had to live at the mercy of friends and family for a whole week. That was how I learned never to gamble what I cannot afford to lose because it could lead to many negativities. From that day till date, I have been a responsible gambler who faithfully follows his gambling plans/budget.

What you say is true and I would probably agree, and what interests me is when you explain about the vision that every gambler should have when they want to bet, which is to first prepare themselves and tell themselves from the beginning that "I will not get my money back", in the sense that they are more focused on losing than winning opportunities. This is good because with this mindset it is less likely for a gambler to end up with emotions that cause them to lose control when they are in a losing situation.

Although basically they don't really expect to win but still if they don't have any preparation to welcome defeat then at least there will be a pretty disappointing response in themselves when defeat really happens. And yes, don't think of it as something lost because in fact everyone doesn't like the name of losing anything, especially money, but in my opinion, just think of money as an object of exchange or the point is to think that the money you spend is to pay for the game you have played, with this then it is less likely for a gambler to feel really lost because his mind will lead to the law of buying and selling where you have to pay if you want something.

The confidence that was built in the minds of many football fans about Nigeria winning that AFCON final against Ivorian team was due to how the Ivorian team qualified to get to that stage. There best loser's qualification from the group stage blinded a lot of people from believing that they can have a good chance against winning Nigeria. And till date I still remember a lot of colleagues that lost money to that loss from Nigeria as they all bet in favour of Nigeria and am not excluded from the loss of $100,  even though the amount for me was much but I don't like losing such amount at a single shot but like you said overconfidence took the better part of us.

and the result was that I lost

and I didn't feel comfortable with losing the money, because I wasn't ready to lose, I did it because of the emotional sensation

Probably only about $100 a time playing slots and some poker games.
$100 only lasted a short time because I gave too many bets for slots and at first looked fine,
winning in a few gaming sessions and eventually having to lose it all.

$100 for me is quite a lot for a gamble, because I am very strict for the allocation used for gambling.
It will not exceed the allocation of $100, even $50 is still too much.

Now gambling is entirely just entertainment for me, playing a few games and betting on my favorite clubs.

I forgot how much my biggest bets so far. I don't think $5 is the biggest bet for most gamblers but that is biggest  for me if we say about one bet.

5$ is nothing for the gamblers and there are gamblers who have a lot of money to bet on a single bet. Even the poor gamblers will also be betting this amount as everyone wants to take risks in gambling. Generally speaking 5$ is nothing for the gamblers but still there are many gamblers who would not gamble with even 1$ or more. It depends upon the person to person.

Yes, this approach suits most of the normal gamblers like us who do not want to lose big money on a single bet. The less you bet on a game, even if you are on bad luck, you will not end up losing big amount of your portfolio. Gamblers should follow risk management strategies to minimize the loss but if anyone bets a very minimal amount, he need not apply any strategy as he or she will never have a big loss. Maybe the only disadvantage with this approach is that one may not enjoy big profits. As we know that more you invest and gambler, the more chances of winning big amount but then one need to see how much he can lose on each bet.

You shouldn’t make bet too much amount in single which amount you are not able to afford that loss. Since $100 is your 1-week income, a lot depends on it, so wasting that money on gambling was not a good decision for you.  Always spend maximum 5% of total income on gambling if you want to enjoy gambling. Overdoing it will hurt you financially so gambling should only be used for entertainment and it is foolish to put yourself in danger by enjoying it too much.

1. $500+ ever bet on a single game which is the Gate of Olympus slot, then I once bet $350 on a single sports bet but this was a clear win because I believed the team I bet on would win.

2. Losing... I would say in slot games, so here is too big a sensation where you will dare to deposit big money because of curiosity or have confidence that you will win even though you end up losing. :P

3. Of course not. It won't be able to afford to lose because it knows it's a large amount of money, but it will be a problem in a few days or maybe after receiving the salary at the end of the month it will be normal again. lol.

i once bet 100 usd on one football match. that was the biggest bet i've ever made to date. honestly, when i gambled, i was very confident that i could double my money, but unfortunately i lost the money because the team i bet on lost a match they should have won. since then i no longer want to bet that much money on one match because it's quite a lot of money in my opinion.
Good thing it cause you trauma, I mean it leads you to not doing it again because if not, your single max bet can still grow bigger and I won't say it's a good thing if you got lucky to win because it will only fuel your addictions more and will make your life more miserable later on. In gambling we must realize that anything can happen and your confidence can't do much about it.

I hope the last thing that you said won't mean that you are still using the same or more amounts but in a multiple game this time because that still looks inappropriate even though you can enjoy it a little longer, as the amount that you are using is still not on your range.

Yeah, this is actually a good thing for you, and you will realize it eventually. I had the same thing maybe like 10 years ago or so, I lost 150 bucks that way and I was so upset that I never did it again, I never bet any money that I would not be able to afford again.

I have wagered 150 again, but at the time I did it, I had enough money that I didn't mind losing 150 dollars. Whereas, if we are handling the situation with smart approach and learn that it was a bad decision to do this, then we will not repeat the mistake. That means we learned our lesson, which is why it is a good thing because it gives us the way to handle all the troubles and this means that wea re going to grow as a person from our mistakes as well. Bad for the moment, but good thing for life.

The poor gamblers should not gambling using big money, even if that $5 because it's worth it if they keeps that money with the other money to buy their needs. It's a pretty forward and simple question, which is...
1. What is the highest amount of money you've bet on a single game in the past?
2. Did you win or lose that game?
3. Was it an amount you were actually ready to comfortably lose?
1. I don’t remember the exact figure, but it was pennies. Perhaps a few dollars.
2. I lost.
3. Yes. It was an insignificant amount that I was willing to sacrifice, but even these pennies allowed me to take a sober look at what gambling could turn out to be like.

My own answer
To the first question, the highest amount of money I've bet on a single game was around $3000, I bet this amount On a sport match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia in 2022 world cup tournament.
You are either a very rich or a very risky person. :) Compared to your losses, mine seem simply ridiculous. Unfortunately, $3000 doesn't look like a funny amount.

To the second question, unfortunately, the game did not win, so I lose this money unfortunately, was a very bitter experience for me.
Did this incident set your mind straight?

To the third question, of course this amount was money I was never ready to lose, but over confidence in Argentina to beat Saudi Arabia made me bet it in the game, but somehow, Saudi Arabia managed to beat Argentina, and this was how I lost that money, till date, this remains the highest amount of money Ive bet bet in a single game, and unfortunately, I lost it.
This is exactly what ruins any gambler - excessive confidence (based only on the desire to win).

I cant remember the sportsbook and also I have forgotten about dice (the highest amount if bet) but I can remember the roulet where I placed a bet of 3000$ each where I lost a few and won a few. Though the number of losses was higher than the profit. I think my loss amount was about 30000$. Yes, I was able to afford that loss (which I was lost from my investment).

Some of you guys are some high risk high reward folks. I usually only bet around $5-10 so that it doesn’t really make a difference what the outcome is. I do recall betting $200 on a football game against the cowboys on Thanksgiving several years ago and winning big. The biggest gamble I’ve even been involved with was a pot of Acey Ducey at a friend’s house that got up into the thousands. I lost, but only a hundred or so of the $ was mine.

The thing is that not all persons actually feel the urge to increase their stake but I think that thought always changes after a big fat gambling wins and this has being the case with almost all the gamblers I know including myself, but mine had to be adjusted because of the pressure it made feel due how I got affected. I think knowing your limits of gambling loss is very important because it will help you keep your staking power in check.

Of course it is, and indeed that is the more recommended approach to gambling which is to bet a small amount that you can afford to lose, because this is the only best approach that can make you safe in the long run, don't let you choose the wrong approach to gambling because of course as many have happened that most people are trapped in a cycle of addiction without realizing it because they take the wrong approach and usually this happens because gamblers are too focused on chasing wins so what happens is that they suffer a lot of losses.

Betting no more than 5% is a good approach because I think it makes it less likely for you to run into financial problems or lose balance in your finances and obviously the "moderation" approach can keep you away from other bad possibilities like addiction which can basically make a gambler lose all their valuables over time. On the other hand, it is true as you said that gambling is more recommended to be used as a place of entertainment when you are feeling bored, the reason? because there is no certainty whatsoever for the problem of results at the end of the session, and obviously you cannot take a place that is basically only based on "possibilities" if you really don't want to experience bad things.

you have taken too little risk but a lot of users ho can make a lot of fujds by this by increasing the odd. I have seen 9999X which means a lot of funds. But I never played more than 10x odds. As the ods is low my bet amount is high.

Op that might be very painful losing such amount of money To a strong team like Argentina , I am not a Good gambler And I Find It very difficult To risk very huge amount of money instead I will use the money To fund My fixtutes account And trade crypto And make some profilts.

In addition , even If I decise To gamble for any game , I Dont usually give any trust To a team because I believe that gambling is a game of chance And luck And I often Favour those with the higher odds because any thing can happen within that SPACE of 90 minutes And I Dont gamble any amount that i am not willing to lose.

Lastly , everything that invloves risk needs carefulness, consistency And appropriate decision making , It is not actually about the money you will stand To lose But How much It will hurt your feelings And distract your emotions. So talking about amount of money To lose I Dont actually know the exact amount because I always stake less To win big And It has been working for me .

Is it really true that the higher the amount you use the better? If yes, what gives people the confidence that they will still win using a high amount? To me, it's not worth it.

Gambling isn't a business deal where you have to innovate something for the future of the company or business, gambling owes no one, and greedy gamblers deserve to get rekt.

My mentality about gambling is that, you are buying a 1% chance of winning out of a 100% chance with every round of bets you place, this is why I am satisfied with using very small amounts, anything over $20 is way too high.

The highest amount I made from gambling is a little over 2k using $20+ at the time, but since then I've never got to lucky like that again, just keeping my head up and keep on enjoying the fun of gambling.

OP is talking about a single game though, which means you haven't lost about $3,000 in a single bet, albeit your loss was devastating, it's probably more devastating than the losing it in a single game because imagine the situation that lead you to that point, you've probably lost more in a single session. For me though, I'm probably not going higher that $25 in my highest bets because I've got more priorities that don't involve gambling and requires me some money so I know that I'm going to be restraining myself not to bet or gamble too much.
