It is not possible to win such a large sum of money unless one is very lucky. Whoever wins such a huge amount of money is very lucky indeed. Totally agree with this one and now that I think about it, they really do make their money on people's hopes and dreams of winning the jackpot and it also coincides with the fact that a lot of people that are gambling in lottery and other public friendly games are mostly people that are poor, on the poverty line or below the poverty line, maybe if people stop doing putting their hard earned money in gambling especially the people that are on the social class that I've mentioned, the earnings of the gambling industry would probably reduce to half or more.

I mean when a gambler who continuously tries to bet on lottery or other types of bets based on luck will eventually get a big win but still according to the amount of the bet, like my neighbor who is older than me almost every day buys lottery tickets with the amount $0.2 per ticket and buying 5-10 tickets every day eventually got a jackpot of around $2000 (that I know of) and the winnings corresponded to the amount of money spent every day.

That is something good to know. I have tried my luck a lot of times. But, I have never won something significant that can change my entire life. The chance of winning that much money is too low. This is one of the reasons I do not try the lottery anymore. There are some other reasons as well which I don't want to reveal at this moment. The lottery company here in my country who happens to be tied with the government charity program has been suspected to be a scam. Though the charity have been helping poor people, particularly with hospitalisation bills, but people have always been speculated on whether or not there were already been a legitimate winner who won millions of money in our currency. He is very lucky to have won lottery in fact not everyone is so lucky. I have also bought lotteries many times but luck has never been with me. I would be happy for any of the two wins. The most I ever won in a lottery was like 100 Euros, but I had to share with 3 friends which made it a quite small win again. With scratch tickets I once won 50 Euros from a 2 Euro Ticket. Good for the mother to have 50,000 USD and I am sure she will do something nice for her kids with that money. Personally, I wouldn't call 50,000 USD a life changing amount because it will make our life better, but it's not going to change everything over night. We will still have to continue working and can't retire early. Don't get me wrong, 50,000 USD is a lot of money and if we use that money to pay of a loan or invest that money it can lead to much more down the road. The problem with 50,000 USD is that it can also be spend really quickly. Buying a new car, some new clothes and taking your family out for a nice vacation will let the money disappear very quickly. Hopefully the family will help the mother to make these decision and take a more long term approach to the money instead of spending it quickly. Investing the money in the college fund for the childrend would probably be the best she could do with the money.

Using 5k to win a lottery is crazy, I would scream hard on anyone close to me who tried to do the same, this is very risky and greedy play, I am happy it goes the way she wanted, out of millions of such risk takers maybe one or two like her always wins, she is so damn luck.

Well congratulations, I mean that 50k$ was really a life-changing amount for him for sure and she is very lucky to win that kind of amount, I was betting on the lottery as well hoping to win a huge amount of money, I mean that bet was really cheap around .4$ I think so it wasn't really a big risk for me, but the chances of winning are just so low for sure because it's a 6 number I think. These type of wins are a bit difficult to handle. Why? Well, it is not a life changing amount, no matter where you live, unless you are in a super poor nation like Zimbabwe or Venezuela, then you are not going to get something huge out of this that will make you retire for good.
