Politician turn out to be the most humble people on earth when they are looking for power. They make all source of fake promises to solicite the support of the people but when they succeed after election they will start to see themselves like God betraying all the people that sacrifice everything to ensure they are in power.
Politicians are suppose to replicate the humility they exhibit during campaign after winning election but instead they became so rude and arrogant to their supporters.

It is because of this that you should vote the right leaders into power and not just those that sugar coat everything just to fulfil their ambition of getting to the seat of power they aim for. Politics is a very dirty game according to many people and those that fully partake in it, politicians do anything to get what they want and when they get it, they forget to fulfil the promise of those that get them into those seats. After some years, when they’re looking to go for another term or going for another position, they use the money meant for the development of the citizens and the country to fuel their elections again to find their way into power for another term. When electing leaders, we should go for the ones that will do what they promised, if they fail to do so, they shouldn’t be given any change to go for another term.

Politicians and humility just don't mix well together.  Campaign trails are littered with bold pledges and the assurance that they understand life as an average Joe. but the power and prestige of office have a way of going straight to the head. Egos swell, accessibility reduces, and promises blur.  Perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to take politicians at their word when they claim to be just like us.  Their incentive is votes after all.   Instead, we should focus on holding them accountable.  Remember those promises?  Remind them.  Because politicians might forget they work for us, but we sure as hell shouldn't.

Not to be that guy, big I blame the voters for this. Most of the time it's very easy to see through these politicians when they're making these promises but the voters refuse to use their heads, they've refused to be critical. You can't just vote for a politician because he said he was going to do this or that. You look at his history, what has he done, and what has he achieved in his previous positions.
Very few politicians can completely hide who they are when campaigning. Voters don't ask the right questions, especially in underdeveloped countries.

Until people learn to not be easily deceived they'll always vote for bad politicians. You a politician who has a track record of corruption and mismanagement of public funds promise voters heaven and earth and they'll fall for it. How can you fall for that?
It's always crystal clear the kind of politician they are, but somehow people don't see it.

Sure, it happens may times and very often. Though there has been some recorded exceptions on the behavior of politicians, there are some who seemed to care for the people who voted for them and even lived through there political career being humble and not getting rich through their use of the political position.
One of the most known examples from this continent is the case of Pepe Mujica, an ex-president of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. When he left the presidency after an almost spotless administration, all he had under his name was his car and also his Beetle Volkswagen.
He is considered to be one of the most honest and humble political leaders of the left wing politics in this continents.

So even though it is pretty easy to see the negative on the local politics, it is also good to know there is hope goin on in other parts of the planet. Not all is lost.

I know right and you sure they do are the most humble people on the world during campaign periods. They'd say that they understand the problem of the people that they're trying to take the votes because that's all what they need from it. But take it from the ones that have been promised with good things from these politicians, once they win the elections they're likely to be back at their form and they won't give you any notice if what's the progress of their promises. Well, it's same stories that we'd get to hear everytime there's a politician going from area to area doing some campaigning.

That's because they think that they're on another level, they think that they should be worshipped because they've got access to the funds of the people. This is commonly known in politics and that's why most people don't trust them but they can't do anything about it because we always need to elect people. If there's a freedom that we're getting from these politicians, that is to vote the kind of politician we want but those corrupt and rude ones, they've got money to buy the votes or even their wins.

When you believe on politicians statement and promises just note your increasing pain and sorrow. To succeed just be yourself and believe only yourself because even when you vote your right it does not stand, I distance myself on some certain things about politics.

I am so in love with the title of the topic you created, it is so precise and realistic. The false humidity of politicians in the society is very much evident to everyone to see but what happens is that during the time of this campaign and fake promises they tend to blind the ignorant public with ill gotten wealth. They bury their pride and ego just to resurrect them after winning. They hire experts in lies to fabricate manifesto to decieve the general public. This is worse in African countries. I am typing as a Nigerian. It is sad to understand that our present leader or president is not the choice of the people. The dead conscience and corrupt system imposed him on us even after we rejected him during election. It is so bad that the people has lost their power to elect who they want. The corrupt calcus impose whoever they wish on the people because they have infiltrated both the judiciary and legislature.The hope of the common man is lost in Nigeria.

Perhaps votes can count in developed countries where they respect the rules and regulations of electoral processes, where one man one vote counts and the leaders are held accountable for the promises that they made during their campaigns. In most developing countries elections are rigged, so it doesn't matter if majority of the masses voted for a credible candidate, in the end powers that dictates who enters office will manipulate the process and their scrupulous candidates will emerge winners, who will carry out their unpatriotic agendas. It's said that bad company corrupts good manners, so a politician can emerge with good intentions to serve the masses, but most times they surrender to pressures and blackmails from the corrupt ones to join them. A country can reduce corruption if there's a revolution and these corrupt politicians are all chased away from power.

Politics is like a business and of which every businesses has its marketing strategies so for you to flourish in that business you're engaged on, then you'd need to devote to its strategies to attract and acquire your needs.
Lies of making unfulfilling promises is just a key point of politicians winning the masses minds during when they needed the publics contributions to their favours.
But that has never been a problem to me rather what I've got being a problem to me towards these politicians of being bloody lying reputations is that the public had been aware that this has been a trick invoke that the politicians had been using to invade the minds of the people and yet, we the masses ignorantly plays along whenever they reaches out to ask for our favours at an electoral campaign levels. Meanwhile we bullshits and sidelines the competent representatives who posseses the capacities and the wisdom to lead us not just rightfully but not humiliating us with the power of authorities bestowed in them.

Our problem in a system of picking the right person's for governance is that we're only after of now which means we too sticks by accept briberies while loosing the aids to later ought to know that the future holds more to be us. So it's of something better if we considers reputability and also our futures before giving our mandates to this so politicians.
To my awareness, there are still good politicians with integrities in a cool minded during their campaigns better than the sugarcoated words politicians we complains bitterly about after voting them in .
It's all our fault who votes them in.

This problem is in every country.  Finding honest politicians around the world has become difficult.  Every politician before the election assures the people of various hopes and promises that he will keep his promises.  But after the election and winning, they don't consider the common people as human beings.  They tend to think of themselves as having too much power and forget every promise they make.  It is really sad.  Because the common people believe in their deceitful words and vote them to victory.  These fake politicians forget that without the votes of the common people they would not have won their seats.

This is the reason why we need strong institutions to hold politicians  accountable during and when they are out of office.
 It is normal for them to sweet mouth the citizens about their lofty plants on how they will develop the society and other economic policies they will bring after being elected. But trust me, if there are weak institutions, like the judiciary, those in the houses of Congress and representative for checks and balances, the police etc, are not strong a enough to call the elected officials to order, definitely they will misbehave while in office.

It's the same case throughout the world with just the difference in level of corruption and even in my country you will see leader literally knocking every single door before the election and once they win the next time they visit your locality or do any work is just before the next election begging for votes. It's upto us whether we want to give chance to candidate who is non corrupt or traditional corrupt politicians as our vote decide our fate.

I think they are only humbled when the want to set there feet into power. Once they get in, we'll going to see another behavior that doesn't worry the expectations. Politicians are very wise and they can do anything just to make sure they get to the power and we need to understand that there are some politicians that can go extra miles just to get what they wanted.
Politics is not for everybody that is why sometimes when I see weak people trying to gain power with having the momentum to set everywhere in motion.

Politicians are one of the most deceptive people in the world.  Politicians don't show up their real self's,  it is after they might have gotten what they want then you see them real , this time is the time for them to misused power to get whatever they want.  Politicians are very corny human that one don't have to expect much from them.

When a politician is seeking election, he can do anything at that time, politicians are very smart the know what the people want at all time and the know to give it to them to get what they want, they are always humble when election ia on the corner, I'm some African some of this politicians go as far as doing absurd things in other to win the sympathy of citizens so that they will vote for them, pliticaims are pretenders, they are havung a plan B at all time, a politician in my country swept an environment ro show the peoplw that he can serve them better with the example that he showed them though even with all this, the peope already know that it is just a  commanflarge to win the heart of the people.

I noticed such attitude from one of our leaders that the full society join hands together to vote for him based some promises he made during the campaign rally and he really won people hearts to vote with all their heart but the man later show his real character that made the society to begin to see him like harrogate leader.

Many people have learn from their mistakes to choose leaders base on their humble during the campaign but since they have failed in the first tenure, nobody will vote them again in the second tenure just to let upcoming leaders to know that there is a reward in such attitude.

And that's why we ought to always go out to vote because during election they constantly promise up and down, just to take benefits of those who are innocent and make them suffer for it later after they have won the election however is in the human nature to be open to the kind of fraud that politicians practice because of greed and we are too blind to see them because of wealth and physical things, not discovering that we have been manipulated or will I say that we have been too blind to detect the wickedness inside them because we have been induce and politicians will do everything just to win our hearts to vote for them and for them to win during elections and they're all monsters in human form. So, I believe that we should assess people based on their actions rather than their words.

It is not the fault of the people who corruptly bring themselves into the office but the fault of those who allow themselves to be used to manipulate the system of election. This is always the problem, so I don't know how we are to expect corrupt person in the office of power to keep to "promise " that was made during campaign because such promises are just mere rhetorics because they want to get into power. As it is said, you don't put square pegs in round holes, that will amount to no result.

Right people don't find themselves in power because they don't have the bribing structure that will see them through bribing down to the office and when those who bribe get into the office, they first work to recover their political financial investment before turning to any other meaningful projects and before that, the next election is close by and they start preparing another bribe to go back into power. So the people have to learn not to help corrupt politicians get into power by helping them to rig because at the end of the day it is the country that will retrogress.

Having a good leader in the community is the best thing to have but how can we  know the good people in our society, quite right good people can be identified but how can we get them there is another thing, some good people we know don't have what it take to lead them there and that is money, bad people always have the opportunity because of the money and we masses doesn't have saying because they stave us with hunger to the extend that we don't have choice rather than to play along.

Let's be honest, 99% of humans think and have same mindset of tricking people, the fact we actually know what will be the end result and go ahead to vote makes no sense, as a citizen you clearly know all politicians act like this during an election but still decide to vote for the politician sounds funny, this is why most people have choosen to be a political apathy. I still don't blame people like this but rather I believe this system will change some day and leaders will learn to speak the truth

As far as I understand it is very difficult for political leaders to tell the truth they often resort to falsehood and deceive the people through polite use. To become a popular politician, one needs to have various qualities. One of these is the natural charm or ability to impress people. This unique quality is not found in everyone. All look out for their own interests and engage in fraudulent activities to gain more power.

People tend to find politicians who they know can solve their problems and one way to actually solve their problems is to first know and experience their problems, how can a politician solve something they don’t know anything about? In turn these politicians pretend to be humble and down to earth as to appear as if they are like normal citizens who go through normal hardships, they want to appear relatable but in reality they probably use their private planes to get from point a to point b and doesn’t experience the challenge of commuting like an average person

In an ideal scenario, a politician's behaviour remains the same before and after the elections. Most of the time, they beg from their voters and make fake promises and after winning the elections they don't visit their voters and supporters. Power is what they are after, and if they see a more powerful person they will behave the way a common person is behaving with them.

Most of them consider humanity their top priority, but after coming to power they forget the word humanity altogether. Take the example of Gaza (Palestine), politicians across the globe (except a few) are silent about the genocide that is happening to the extent that even Muslim leaders are not raising their voices. We have seen that all countries put sanctions on Russia in the Ukraine war, but all those are silent on the Palestinian genocide in Gaza.

Humanity is the word politicians use to showcase their fake sympathy.     

You are right, I agree with you, I have seen our country's leaders during the elections to highlight their promises. Election means promise, during the election every candidate makes various promises to improve the public life of his area. Candidates try to win the sympathy and trust of the people by promising the development of the area. When the election is imminent, the candidates run to different parts of the area, door to door of the voters. They do not hesitate to meet even the lowest income people of the area. He tries his best to attract people to him. After being elected, the promises made by the leaders are far-fetched, voters do not get to meet the elected candidates.

We can say that again because at a certain point in time, we seem to all have this character of soliciting for help and while at this time of need, we tend to express the best full delivery of our humility at the cause, but once we have achieved what we want, then we becomes more inapproachable to the same people we have been humble to while we are not yet who we are, we have the targets of what we want and while on the pursuit, we try to achieve all by all means and we later found that we are no more the same person we used to be.

Most politicians and humility are two distinct parties that cannot ever coexist. A politician who lacks a convincing personality is not considered suitable for the position because they do not always win, no matter how hard they try. Politics has been designed to be understood as a game of interest, and if you are not coming for that interest, you should not contest and instead allow those who want to take up that space. Those big promises got them to those positions, but in order to stay there, they'll have to play the political game. I'm not surprised because it's now genetically programmed to keep both the body and the soul engaged in the system.

Yep, during the election process, many politicians show humility to attract people's support. They make promises and commit to implementing policies that benefit the community. However, after being elected, some of them may change their behavior, becoming distant and less interested in those who support them. When holding leadership positions, politicians face a lot of pressure from different interest groups, thereby forcing them to make decisions that are not always in the interests of everybody. Not all politicians change their attitudes after being elected. There are still people who always keep their promises, strive to fulfill their commitments and always care about people's opinions. All politicians should not be judged the same. There are still people who always keep their promises and perform their responsibilities well. Therefore, it is necessary to have an objective view and assessment based on the specific actions of each individual.

This is a circle that keeps repeating while the people know about it. What is now the solution as voters understand the phenomenon yet keep falling for it.

The next season they throw out their agents out on the field to start promising on their behalf and the people are given peanuts in exchange of their votes and after that the economy goods down by 10/20% in their tenure and they bid their friends again who is corrupt then the economy keeps nose diving. What is the solution to this for the masses who only need good governance with benefits of democracy.

Sometimes I wonder why a bad politician in power is been re-elected when the people already know he didn't do well during his first term in office. We all know about this but every election season, we keep allowing these politicians fool us over and over again. Politicians are psychologists, they understand the people very well and know exactly what to do or say to buy the people's sympathy. This certainly means we are the ones giving them the opportunities to toss us around.

While carrying out effective voter's education, voters should also take out time to study these politicians, their past  records and appraise them to be sure they are fit to represent the people. Any voter who ignores obvious red flags just because of some cheap benefits he got during the campaign period is not supposed to complain when the government no longer favours him.

 I don't really know if the advance countries politicians are also the same with the African countries politicians because what the Op e is purely found the in the African countries and they have never completed any of their promises. And what they always do is what the citizens need is not what they the politicians need and what the politicians need is not what we the citizens need but the politicians know the needs of the citizens and use it in their manifesto, the blueprint or the ideology to deceive the masses to vote them into the corridor of power and after when they have won the election then everything changed. Example is the present political party in Nigeria called APC. And the slogan of the party is "Change", that is they want to change the old things to new one, my friends from another countries as it is, we prefer the old things more than the new things in the country. They have changed everything from good to bad.

Fuel pump price was $0.1 and now it is $0.50. And the inflation level is X10. And because of this failure of campaign promises the political apathy is increasing every election.

Just like we have the good politicians, we also have the bad ones and we need to make sure that we avoid or prevent the bad politicians from instigating wickedness on us. Their are some politicians that are very desperate to get to the seat so that they could pack funds and hide it for their own benefit. Such kind of lifestyle must stop and we need to make sure we don't put that kind of people in position because they're going to embezzle government funds that is meant for the people.

There’s this saying that if you want something, you have to look foolish. You have to do any thing and then when you get it, you can do what you wish. That’s what they are doing. They’ll be so calm and kind during the elections, giving fake promises here and there. But when they win, they claim that they have a new vision of how to make things better but in reality they are deviation from what they promised.

That strategy is very common among some politicians during the campaign, not knowing that people are use to their plans to use humility to deceive people to vote them into power, but after election their real attitude will show up for people to regret for the choice they made.

That is the strategy some citizens are using to their politicians to start some project in the society, before they can vote for them and some leaders that trust themselves for having the mind of their citizens, after the election they will surely complete the projects they started during campaigns to appreciate the citizens.

They can deceived people once, but to deceive people the second time, it will be difficult because people will surely remember what they have done to them in the past than to pay them back by not voting for them to succeed in the second tenure.

But while you say that it can’t be done the second time, there are people who get brainwashed easily. I can tell you that while in power, there are people who still can’t see anything wrong with the governance maybe because a silly excuse which makes sense to them is being given. And that’s how it’s possible to deceive people again. Politicians are really smart and they know just how to press the button. They find a way to hit people’s weak point.

Politics is very essential for the smooth running of a country and there is no alternative. But in the current context, politicians make many false promises to the people to come to power, but when they win they often break their promises. Where there is money and power makes people haughty and arrogant.
But we are responsible for politicians not being able to keep their promises. The reason can be said that during election campaigns we sacrifice our conscience to money. This is because politicians spend so much money to win elections that they can't or don't want to keep their promises.

All these behaviors of politicians have become a system or a trend which is like supply chain management from low level to high level. And the issue of power is different from my point of view. Power is the responsibility assigned to someone, whether he can properly complete all the responsibilities given to him. So everything will change automatically if we become aware of ourselves and our responsibilities.

Through brainwashing is one of the ways many of our politicians uses to make sure that they get to the seat they had been aspiring for so that they would behave the way they like we they actually resume the seat they had been longing for. We need to be wise and make sure that we do everything that we can to remove the bad eggs from big government seats. We don't need to be deceived with money because this is one of the ways politicians use to make play their games and get what they wanted.

The bitter truth about this is that not everyone is thinking as you are thinking. While you’re looking for a way for things to get better, Another is cheering and encouraging the person with power that they are doing just great.

Funny thing is that some people are still under the illusion even when things aren’t going as promised. It’s still the politician’s job to make one think that they are trying their best. I don’t let it get to me so often because I know such strategies.

It is this dirty politics that takes its worst form these days, usually the most violent fights at polling booths. If you look then definitely look at the politics of low and developing countries most of the times MP ministers do the worst. They become most meek and gentle during polls but the people who live with them are mainly involved in bad deeds. By wearing a good mask they can get the right to vote from the people of the nation and only after getting the right to vote, they put on their real mask and start corrupting. They are becoming bigots by spoiling the rights of the poor and they have made a mountain of money in the country and abroad and made dirty politics.

One of the main causes of human conflict in the world is overstepping the boundaries of one's rights. When I interfere with the rights of others to ask for something extra then quarrels arise. People in the universe are naturally attracted to wealth and power, trying to take extra opportunities from their place. This does not mean that everyone is greedy, it is not unusual to have exceptions ie there are still many good and selfless people in the world. So if we all try to be aware and honest from each other's place maybe this filth among politicians will be reduced a lot. Sometimes we allow them to do dirty things in exchange for some favors.

it is very clear and understanding that politics is a game and then whenever they want to assume power they will be soliciting everywhere and pleadings everybody to give them a support, so what I'm saying is that government can never fail to disappoint and the politicians can never fail to disappoint it is very few you will see a politicians that will fulfill their promise they gave during campaign.
