Title: Where to get Monero (XMR) after it's been delisted from Kraken? With ADA ideally
Post by: DavidManningCA on April 13, 2024, 01:41:47 AM
I am heavy long term on Monero (XMR), and want to purchase several thousand $$ worth each month. I have been doing it for years with a verified Kraken account, but now they're delisting it.

What are the cheapest and best ways to get Monero left? I would probably prefer to exchange Cardano (ADA) or Ethereum (ETH) purchased through Kraken for it.

See my sig https://exch.cx/ does eth->xmr

There are a lot of options for that.

Cardano -> XMR is going to be a bit harder.

Check https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/#Markets for all options.

Thanks, that does seem to be what I need. Although yeah, they don't do ADA > XMR, they do ETH > XMR.

Any idea what their fees are like?

You can buy monero from https://localmonero.co it is a P2P marketplace and therefore doesn't require you to pass KYC. But be careful as scammers are everywhere and some may represent themselves as merchants with lucrative deals. Ensure that you don't fall for such deals and always make purchase from verified merchants with good trade history.

What are the fees like there? What is the advantage to going there instead of a no-signup exchange like changenow.io or xchange.cx?

Do you not consider Monero reputable?

Monero is being delisted because its privacy technology works... which is what I like about it.

It's an instant exchange, you send them ETH and once it confirms you get send the XMR. The exchange rate is shown as soon as you hit calculate.
No login, no KYC, just click and send and get your coins.

You CAN get better rates other places but you are then creating an account and going thought KYC and everything else.

This is the list of no KYC exchange https://kycnot.me/

I'm not sure which one has ADA to XMR pair, probably you can check blockdx.net

You can also use this site https://www.bestchange.com/cardano-to-monero.html to get the best rate or lowest minimum trade.

Use CakeWallet; I'm pretty sure it supports ADA (I use LTC on it). Use their built-in exchange function to convert to XMR.

Check out bisq.

https://bisq.network/

I installed it few days ago and monero was the most traded coin on that platform. (More than ~100 offers were present where ltc only had 4-5 offers) No KYC, decentralized. Exch is a  good alternative and comes pretty close but the difference is, exch might be gone tomorrow, bisq will be here because every user is also a host. They can attack one person but they can’t attack us all.

edit: people were trading their btc for xmr though. Maybe convert your ADA & ETH to BTC first but still, eXch would be more convenient in your situation.
