Title: WhatsApp’s new CEO is Indian Post by: Nrcewker on June 22, 2026, 05:00:02 PM So, around 3 hours ago, Mark Zuckerberg announced Kunal Shah as WhatsApp’s new CEO. He is replacing Will Cathcart.

Also, there is a possibility that Kunal joined because Meta is investing tons of money in CRED, so CRED can now compete with the Indian giant PhonePe. Also, now that an Indian is the CEO, can he be politically controlled by Indian political parties? What are your thoughts? Title: Re: WhatsApp’s new CEO is Indian Post by: Bitcoin Smith on June 22, 2026, 05:21:54 PM Almost every tech giant compnaies CEO's are Indians, of course, we are smart but it is beyond being smart, and I guess as you said, this might be politically influenced by the party or even the users that the platform is under the control of India. Because we are the one who fell for 'Make in India'. :)
I am using for a very long time and it is useful to me, then I have Gpay and Phonepe but 99% of the time it's Gpay and I only use phonepe because they got the upl;oad qr option which is not available in gpay. Maybe a proud moment but not really, nothing really changes if Indian become CEO, we need Indian compnaies to go international. Title: Re: WhatsApp’s new CEO is Indian Post by: Cointikka on June 23, 2026, 02:43:34 AM This is good! He sold 17 million users' data to Meta for $900 million, and got the CEO position of WhatsApp, and we are boasting that another Indian is now the CEO of a global giant. Imagine if Mukesh Ambani does the same by selling the Jio customer base data, or Airtel's Mittal does it. We Indians will shame them virtually, and they will be on prime-time news. Thank god I was not part of the CRED customer base.
Title: Re: WhatsApp’s new CEO is Indian Post by: JSRAW on June 23, 2026, 05:17:28 AM ^^ we sell our data for free 100 rs coupons, seen plenty of opsec paranoid friends bragging about how they managed to get discounts here n there using credit cards etc.
Agree with Nrcewker.. Meta wants a pie in growing indian digital payment market, so far they failed to do and india is whatsapp's biggest market so this CRED investment and appointment of kunal shah is a new strategy to complete against gpay and phonepay Title: Re: WhatsApp’s new CEO is Indian Post by: pawanjain on June 24, 2026, 03:51:03 PM So Kunal Shah has stepped down as the CEO of CRED and is now taking the role of CEO of Whatsapp.
It's nothing but a strategic move to benefit the company. This doesn't motivate me at all. The new CEO of CRED is Matt Trueman and he is not an Indian, so we are square from that perspective. The post said X was banned and now WhatsApp has an Indian CEO. Do you guys think this conspiracy has weight? lol...
we sell our data for free 100 rs coupons, seen plenty of opsec paranoid friends bragging about how they managed to get discounts here n there using credit cards etc. Haha true!I've seen guys filling online forums with even their addresses for some freebies. There are several telegram groups where they post 'micro tasks' and some of us Indians are doing those tasks for 5-10 Rs, which is actually insane. |
