While working on Darkcoin, Evan has created a number of new innovations. Please look-up caveat emptor when looking at any coin above if you intend to spend your money. This is not a promotion or otherwise of any of the above. Some information about the innovations to date. There are others that are being planned for release. X11 Coins are using X11 hasing algo because it provides CPU and GPU support, with far less power requirements and GPUs run much cooler. Quote With the chained hashing, high end CPUs give an average return similar to that of GPUs. Another side effect of the algorithm is GPUs run at about 30% less wattage than scrypt and 30-50% cooler. Darkcoin Gravity Wave (DGW) DGW adjusts the difficulty. It was created to fix problems found in KGW. The founder of QuebecCoin uses it because: Quote DGW is currently the best difficulty adjustment algorithm available. It fixes the KGW timewarp exploit and allows a very accurate difficulty adjustment. X11 multipools will soon be a reality and hashrate manipulation will be easily prevented with DGW. Once again, there's simply no alternative if you want the best. DarkSend DarkSend is an e-cash tool to make transactions anonymous. The process begins within the wallet and therefore it is a decentralized solution to leaving breadcrumbs of spending on a block chain. This information directly impacts citizens living under repressive governments. It could cause physical harm to a woman whose finances are controlled by her pimp or her kidnapper. The knowledge of transactions can be combined with violence to limit any human’s fundamental right to transact economically. DarkSend has moved out of Beta and in to release candidates testing. There are many bitcoin people who don't like any coin, any competition. But I ask you, would there be improvements like there has been if there was no competition? Would we have better coins than Litecoin and Bitcoin if it weren't for alts. Those two are still simple, no real innovation in a long time - over the hill - coins. When you have something, you don't want competition but competition is the healthiest thing in the world. So too bad. That goes for Darkcoin as well. You do get a lot of perks for being the first, but if you don't keep up/and ahead of the competition, you die. That's why the developer is so important. Evan is amazing and he won't be stopping with privacy, there is so much more planned, and he has a "we can do it" attitude and has proved he can indeed do it!
