Title: Legal aspect of making ponzi schemes
Post by: cech4204a on April 14, 2014, 11:59:43 PM
Hi;

I'm wondering if it is legaly allowed to create ponzi schemes here on the forum? I have noticed that many users created their own ponzis and they created topics for that reason, so this section of forum is crowded with those topics. Does anyone "invest" here so there are so many ponzis or this is only moment of hype? Would you pay me if i created ponzi scheme and promised fair-play? I have some financial problems in this moment and i'm trying to find a way, as i see ponzis might be working here around, so i need your opinion and thoughts.

So main questions:
-is it allowed on this forum
-would you "invest" in it even if you know you are most likely lose it
-how much you are willing to risk

I was thinking about standard rules:
-0.01BTC , not lower, not higher, so everyone has "equal" possibilities to get money back
-105% return
-payout when next "investor" pays his 0.01BTC
-if first guy is only guy to pay, he gets his 0.01BTC back
-max time of one round is 24hours

I'm asking for opinion, i'm not creating it

Running a ponzi is illegal.  Participating in a ponzi is stupid.  This site has stated that they don't care if people run ponzis.

Ok i get the illegal point, i don't get the last point, can you back-up your argument somehow? Where did they state that? Are you sure it's allowed here ?

Ponzis are 0/100 on the successful/scam scale. All ponzis are scams because people who invest and it doesn't move do not get refunded. In a real game if I invest and nothing happens I expect a refund since the game never fucking happened. Ponzis are shit. That is all.

So you would expect if you were first "investor" to get your money back if nobody else "invests" , like i put in my standard rules of an example?

Yeah, there was a big discussion a month ago in scam accusations or service discussion or somewhere like that where we tried to get them to put ponzi's in their own sub.  The mod informed us that the admin said no.  Go do some research if you are that interested in running a scam, all this information has been covered many times before.

The moderators say that if ponzis are legal SOMEWHERE in the world then they don't have any responsibility to remove it here on the forums.. I know. Diamond-clad logic.

That's moronic as EVREYTHING is legal "somewhere in the world".  Did a mod actually say that?  That's horrible.
