Update on June 2nd as the Spring/Summer Rally! is still going:

The Summer Rally! is progressing well as new short-term highs have been coming almost every day.  :)
The drop from $660+ to $600 was "scary", but it recovered fast and is testing the recent high soon.

It's going up faster than it came down.. Soon 666$ thread will pop up again.

Damn, so hard to mobilize my rocket images on my phone.

so far it only goes up, but it's by far not strong enough to count as being substantial. it went down for months!

BTC-e was behind and then it shot up 60 Dollars from ~$490 to $550.

I guess we are still some months far from new ATH and I agree with you about some nice rally is going to happen.

About the short-term highs I think that a bump somewhere in the 7-800 range could be achievable.

The first important barrier is back over $600.
Next is $1,000 to $1,200 since many people will sell near the all-time high.

If we have a similar pattern to last year?
The new highs (if the market goes crazy) could actually be $3500 to $7000.

That's ~6% to 7% per day starting at about $525, and an average of $35 gain.

Even the first big rally (2011) was "normal" for a while, then suddenly $14 to $19 (~35% gain) with one big purchase.
Everyone was in shock for a little while, and less than a day or two later it leaped from ~$19 to $24, also in one fast move.

It could go as high as $1,000,000 , or as low as $0.01

things are moving extremely fast which seems to be the norm for BTC.  There are breaks but when it gets goin it is gone.  I suspect 1500 to be the high for right now but I don't mind being wrong. :)

Much more relevant is the volume that underlies that correction to sub $500 and the scant volume underpinning the rebound since then.

P.S. You are on a roller coaster. Bitcoin market liquidity is decreasing all the time and fat greedy whales need fed so roller coasters are what you are going to get until the whales have depleted the eco-system of plankton, which is all you are.

The Spring Rally! just received new life.
The 24 hour low ($452.2) was less than 3 hours ago and the 24 hour high ($492*) just happened.
That's a nice fast $40 gain; Now let's get back over $500.  :)

Gox has taken a hug amount of liquidity out of teh market and so we are left with some serious chinese market markers who are have a free regien over bitcoin wioth the 5million liquidity that they wield at the moment

Its a free market and they are striking why the market is weak ...al the power to then (to a degree)

The problem and I know when I have a problem is that my timeline gets reduced to a smaller and smaller window... this is when i know I am dacing to somebody elses tune and that a market is being played

As bitcoin rallies go, this was a rather disappointing one. I suspect 2014 is going to be a hugely boring year for btc. Price will fluctuate from $400 to $600 all year long, with brief moments of despair (sub-$400) and hope (super-$600). Sorry to be a BEARer of such bad news to those who feel stranded on an empty rocket orbiting around the earth.

However, 2015 will be an exciting year, from January to December, filled with action.

When it comes to bitcoins, slow and steady only means slow decline.

The the Rally has been from $360 to ~$540 we are now in a waiting period before the next up move.

I'm waiting to get in at the moment and even though I wan to buy now I feel like this is a potential trap...  Will most likely get in for a small amount just to see what happens.

I think BTC needs to keep growing and that is what we should really be focused on before we worry about a rally but I'm a bull and think things are on the way up when it is all said and done in regards to the future of BTC in 2014

The late-Spring Rally! does exist, so far Stamp made it to $481, and the recent low was ~$420.
Now the dramatic question is: "How high can it go?"  :)

IMO, "real rally"(?) will be answered after we get above $540 to $600. There is little doubt we are going at least to $525/530.
This is much more fun than all those slow days.  :)

The last high was at 548 (from end of March until now).
IMO if we break it we could consider this a strong bull signal. Do you all agree?

I was confident the Rally was coming, but didn't think we would shoot over $500 without more resistance and a few more days of waiting. With the current momentum we might be looking at $600 very soon.  :)

Edit: Over $600 = "Panic buying" and a quick re-test of the all-time high...........LOL?

Following the long wait/dead market .... "Obvious" strong breakout.... People react ASAP, but it takes time to transfer money in ....more money flowing in every day  ....and the Rally keeps going, and going. (the Bears also start to jump in, so we "go" some more)  :)

This night the price seems to be backing up a little but saturday we will be 540 at least.

The bull rallies are usually very bumpy. Forecast: Expect lots of UPs and Downs in large movements.

Right this moment shows a reason why short-term trading can be so difficult:
The 24 hour BTC chart (30 minute bars) looks like a 'triple top' that has run out of steam, but....
It also looks like a monster Bull waiting to tear off the roof and fly higher.  :)

The only dips and drops you are gonna see the following weeks are gonna be bear traps.

That's about what I'm guessing:  $2500 ± 500

Right, previous rallies multiplied old ATH by a factor x28 (06/2011), then by x8.5 (04/2013), then by x4.71 (11/2013), so this one should be about x2.5 if progression holds which means around $3100. And that is a very conservative estimate, in reality I think 6-8k is very possible.

The peak of the new bubble should really be around that value, I would sell some coins when we will break through $2000
if the rally will be in exponential mode.

It is interesting how it has been working out so far this summer.  I suspected word of mouth would play a big roll but I think it is has to do with a few other things news playing a big part.

I don't know where the next rally will bring us or when it will happen but I suspect some serious movement when it takes place. 

Not too long ago many people believed in a $4000~6000 peak, but now I seem to be one of very few who still thinks a rally to $5000 will happen soon.

fiat is paper. there's, literally, unlimited amounts of that available. if bankers run out of trees, they will start making plastic bills, then recycle your books and so on.
