It uses the Scrypt algorithm combined with Kimoto's Gravity Well. It has no purpose other than being what it is. There are 3 factors involved into the block reward : -The first is a random number determining which reward will be used. There are 5 possible rewards, each have it's own percentage of probability to come out. Here's a simple schema : https://i.imgur.com/10ViH5Q.jpg -The second factor is another random number which will be used to determine a bonus multiplier applied to the reward. As for the first, there are multiple possibilities with specific percentage of chances to drop. https://i.imgur.com/swFyycl.png -Finally, The classic nHeight factor is used to divide the reward per 2 every 100k blocks. Here's a complete table of all possible rewards. Basically, the first random factor determine the line, the second determine the row. For example, when a block is found there is 13% chance the reward will be 1337, then there is another 0.19% chance it will be multiplied by 10. Well, we have the same chances to get 50 or 450050 coins on a block, but we have less chances to get 10 coins than 90010. There are more chances to get 1 coin on a block than 2674 but you have the same amount of chances to get a 9001. Also, getting 1998 is easier than getting a 3 but harder than getting a 2005. So finally, we can say that getting a 2005 is easier than getting a 3 ? Who built the mac build if it was not tested? This is not a coingen, DafuqCoin is based on Dogecoin and derived source code, so you should be able to compile it on OSX. What i said was confusing, there is no "pre-built" GUI wallet for MAC, but I guess you should be able to compile it yourself (I admit I don't know a lot about OSX portability ???) Ok I get it, however keep in mind you are going to have some serious issues with multipools if you have KGW and random block rewards.. Thanks for your advice, I will see how it's doing at the beginning and apply modifications to the code if necessary :) NP, just make sure you fix it before it hits Cryptsy, this was a major issue with KittehCoin(I'm on the dev team).. Install linux on a box and move your wallet.dat across and put in ~/.dafuqcoin and launch "dafuqcoin-qt -rescan" This will import your windows wallet and all will be good. You can even use live USB key of ubuntu. I started with xubuntu 32 bit 12.04 since the source was released and have not tried windows. Yesterday my wallet was working for awhile. I mined a few blocks, but it got stuck around 177. I did a rescan I have been stuck on block 4 ever since. It's not enough to just install Linux.
I have updated my source and recompiled, but I still cannot get a good block past 4. Maybe riddler_xyz is onto something with the difference between 64 bit floating point? It messes with python-stratum, and python in general. also removes functionality of apt-get, so you can't fix it it can be fixed. this is why I NEVER install more then 1 pool on a server and i do NOT sudo anything. When another wallet receive the coins, as soos as the network accept them, they must be in a stake state for the amount of time previste by the sender. If in this time a wallet is stealing, for sure the thief will transfer the coin in his wallet, but as the coins in "stake" even if confirmed, they cannot be transfered to another wallet. When the original wallet owner find the missing coins, he can use a features for claim his coin back. With this features it is request that 50%+1 of people that send or receive coins to this wallet say true to the question of repristinate the previous state (this must be before the stake finished). So, an exchange can use this features to protect who sent money to him for trading, because it is in the interest of all the users to risristinate missing coins. This can work even for pools, as it will be all the miners that receive coins that can claim for the repristinate of the previous state. For the blockchains, the repristinate of state will be a new special transaction from new wallet to old wallet without the needing of stake, so the original owen can soon move the coins to another clean wallet. Even if you implement the most secure system there could be some bugs that make an intruder to take access of your system. For example, what happen if an hacker has finded the OpenSSL bug before the comunity find it and soon close? He could have access of 90% of networks machine as it was the most used software.
