Title: *Quick Auction*: Two forum ad slots
Post by: theymos on April 18, 2014, 12:52:30 PM
Two forum ad slots in the current round are available. You will get 4-8 days of ad time if you send me your ad immediately after you win this auction. See the normal ad auction topic for more info, including ad rules:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=571118.0

This auction is for two slots. You cannot bid on just one slot.

Special ad rules:
- If you haven't advertised with the forum before, keep your ad simple. Otherwise, it is likely to be invalid and be rejected.
- No sites that did not exist 30 days ago.
- No banks or investment services.
- I reserve the right to reject any service.

Auction rules:
- You must have at least 60 activity to participate.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.001 BTC.
- The bidding starts at 1.5 BTC.
- The auction will end 8-15 hours from the time of this post, chosen arbitrarily.
- I can reject bids, even long after they are made. If I do, the next-highest bidder wins, even if their bid is higher than it would have been without the rejected bids.
- If it is not obvious from looking at your forum profile, you must say in your first bid which service you will be advertising.
- If you don't pay after winning, I will give you negative trust.

My stock PM for advertisers with more detailed ad creation rules/hints:
Each of your slots can have a different ad. You can use HTML/CSS styling with some freedom. However:
- Ads must not contain images (not even data URI images) or JavaScript
- Ads must not contain forms
- Ads must not animate (no <blink> or <marquee>). Subtle CSS hover effects may be allowed, since other links on the forum do that.
- Ads must not load things from external sites.
- Ads must not be taller than 3 lines of default-styled text (as they appear on my browser, which is about 700px wide). This is around 42px.
- I will reject ads if I find them to be especially annoying

You can send me valid BBcode (the markup used when making posts), or you can send me HTML with inline CSS (style="..."), or you can send me HTML plus separate CSS that will be put into the <head>. Do not minify anything you send me -- I very often need to modify it slightly. Note that your ad's style may be affected by the board's default CSS, especially if you use inline CSS. Using <div> tags is not recommended unless you give them inline-block style.

Common mistakes when creating ads:
- It is invalid XHTML to put a <div> inside of an <a>.
- Your ads will be affected by the forum's CSS. Your ads will by default have text-align:center and font-size:90%; your links will have :hover{text-decoration:underline}; etc. Make sure you insert your ad into a downloaded version of https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo to see whether it looks OK with the inherited styles.
- If your top-level element is a block element (<div>, <span style="display:block">, etc.), your ad will be preceded by a line break, making it too tall. Your top-level element should almost certainly be inline or inline-block.
- Special symbols, especially including & symbols in URLs, need to be converted into entities like &amp;.

To bypass Adblock Plus, you should:
- Use header CSS, not inline.
- Tell me that you want a randomized CSS class. You must use no more than 4 CSS classes.
- Tell me that you want the anti-ABP JavaScript link fix.
- Use only one <a> and no other tags if possible. If your ads get blocked because of matching done on something inside of your ad, you are responsible for noticing this and giving me new ad HTML. (However, note that I do not guarantee that ABP will be bypassed on my end.)

Impression stats are here:
https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats
If you're planning on collecting stats on clicks, you must put some tag in the URL. You will not get any referrer info from here, since browsers don't list HTTPS sites as referrers. I'd be interested in reading any stats you collect.
