A paper wallet filled with those 100$ in Bitcoin probably is the best.

Mining equip? If she/he's an enthusiast she/he might enjoy some mining for fun, allthough it isn't worth it, even when the equip is gifted and thus there's no initial investment.

A share in some bitcoin project?

If he/she's of the charitable sort making a donation in her/his name might be nice, maybe some of the charity projects give out nice plaques like the WWF is doing.

Maybe pay someone to design a nice framed growth history of Bitcoin? Like a chart showing the exponential value increase, with landmarks along the way? Casacius coins, fall of Gox, etc.

Kind of like the tulip thing from Wall Street 2.

I am working on making some bitcoin scratchcards that I envision would be good gifts for a bitcoin enthusiast.  They will be just like scratchcards you buy at the store but you win bitcoins!  Hoping for a price point of a dollar each, but it might have to be two dollars for the first batch, still working on pricing so will see what develops.  Thought it would be a neat gift idea and fit your description pretty well.
