Title: HTTPS-Everywhere rule for bitcoin.org
Post by: Hasimir on April 16, 2011, 01:30:06 PM
Hello,

Anyone wanting to use the EFF's HTTPS-Everywhere add-on for Firefox and who haven't yet written their own rule, can use this one (http://www.adversary.org/files/Bitcoin.xml).

Step 1) Load https://www.bitcoin.org/ and add an exception for the site (it currently uses a self-signed certificate).
Step 2) Download the HTTPS-Everywhere XML file (http://www.adversary.org/files/Bitcoin.xml).
Step 3) Copy/move the file to the HTTPSEverywhereUserRules directory for your profile.

Profile paths for various operating systems are available here (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox).

Love your avatar.

Yeah.. it really twists your brain in the same fashion if you try to comprehend how the ying/yang is going.

Back on topic. Did you already send the rules upstream?

If you don't want to add exceptions every time for a self-signed certificates I suggest to use the Perspectives plugin.

Love your avatar.

I wish I could claim credit for that, but an ex sent it to me years ago and I've been using it since.

Heh.  :)

I have now, along with one for my own domain (which also uses a self-signed certificate).

Ooh, thanks for that.
