Title: Why can't I post a link to this website??
Post by: earlz on May 05, 2014, 09:22:39 PM
There is a mining pool I'm trying to link to in a coin ANN post and I can't. For reference, not all links are filtered though:

[Suspicious link removed]/ m e g . p o o l z . w s
http://earlz.net e a r l z . n e t
http://coins.rapidhash.net c o i n s . r a p i d h a s h . n e t

Why is this?

Some links from newbs just seem to be seen as suspicious by the forum and auto removed. Have you tried breaking up the first part of the url or cloaking it?

I assumed trying to evade the filters would get me banned :/

Also, testing:

http://bitcointalk.org b i t c o i n t a l k . o r g
http://dogecoin.com d o g e c o i n . c o m
http://google.com g o o g l e . c o m

[Suspicious link removed] spam

bitcointalk [Suspicious link removed]uspicious link removed] [Suspicious link removed]

wow. you can't even mentiion it. Why is "bitcointalk" + apostrophe S blacklisted!?

Why can I not mention this website without getting filtered? How long does it take before I don't have to go through these ridiculous filters?

Maybe that one is a bit harsh nowadays. :) I'll remove it. There used to be a spam/scam site with "bitcointalks" in the URL, but I think it's gone now.

AFAIK, it's impossible to bypass these special newbie wordfilters without mangling the URL in extreme ways. You might try encoding the URL in base64 (or whatever) to explain the filter that you're having trouble with.
