 with the manipulator.

These are two very different things.  One is "wack".

Trying to scare people into liquidating their positions?

Could be.  There are three possible explanations for the OP.

- He's going to trade around that time, or has inside info about someone else.  Wants the market to move in a particular way before or during the trade to make it profitable.

- Has no idea what's going to happen, and just posting for lulz.

- Seeing how gullible people can be and whether they actually trade on his advice.

The word "drastic" is open to interpretation.

You forgot the 4th explanation:

That the big market moves always seem to take place at that time. I have noticed it and would not be surprised to see something at this time tonight myself.

hahahaha this happened on IRC too.  :\

By the way, I think I need to offer up a more in-depth explanation of this post than the OP.
1. The Manipulator usually does his work at around 3 AM (this has not been verified by charts, it's mainly a subjective feeling at the moment)
2. The recent crash is a very interesting market event.
3. It will be interesting to see how the Manipulator responds.

up or down ?

I'm not sure.  I'm merely speculating that something interesting (large market move or orderbook change) will happen in the early hours of Jan 19.

haha, fair enough.  I will withhold such harsh judgment since you offered a candid opinion to supplement your vague prediction.
