Title: Upgrading Bitcoin From 0.5.1 to 0.5.2 Post by: EuSouBitcoin on January 19, 2012, 03:29:31 AM I want to upgrade my Bitcoin client from 0.5.1 to 0.5.2. Do I need to uninstall 0.5.1 first or should I just install 0.5.2 on top of 0.5.1?

aptitude update aptitude upgrade Or start "Update Manager GUI" interface and upgrade your system, a new Bitcoin will arrive. Always backup your wallet.dat. You install 0.5.2 as an upgrade, just make sure you close Bitcoin first, and back up your wallet.dat in %appdata%\Bitcoin on windows, or ~/.bitcoin on linux.
