• Staff members - when project will gain popularity and donations - there will be hired staff members who will be there 24/7 - you will be able to ask them about anything Bitcoin related.
• Gaming rooms - play games and earn BTC (Thanks Bitmichel for your suggestion - I love it!)

And a lot more!!! We can add as many rooms as will be needed! Our Embassy have no space limits!

+ Unity3D engine support Oculus Rift - "Bitcoin Online Embassy" will be a perfect place for Rifters to learn about BTC.

Today I am trying to put a Bitcoin ATM into our Bitcoin Online Embassy :)

Works on BTC ATM are going to take a quite a long time ...

but plan is:

1. Build up or find free license ATM 3D model
2. Make it looks like first Bitcoin ATM
3. Scripting - Make ATM's LCD screen work :)
4. Scripting - Make this ATM possible to use in a same way real BTC ATM's are working.
5. Make it better =)

I am still waiting for any comments ...
I must say I though Bitcoin Online Embassy will be interesting for Bitcoiners ... but as till now ... no one comment ... :)

I think you want to add little games inside it, by which playing you can earn btc.
Does the simulator support chat?

This is great idea and it would be awesome feature - but it will need a time to create.
Features like this one can be added in a future upgrades.

Earning BTC while playing needs a cold/hot wallet implementation + connections to Bitcoin nods,  and I must say I don't yet know how to implement in into a code of C# or JS but this feature is really a great idea and I am adding it to a "TO DO" list!

What is about a chat support - yes I want it to support a Chat feature and indeed I am thinking of making a 3d models for a visitors so you can meet other people walking around Embassy :) and chat with each other :)

Alternatively, you may want 3d scanning software, which creates 3d models based on camera input. Half a year ago it was still state-of-the-art technology, I must say I dont know how things evolved in the meanwhile.

Or you could skip a bit of the modelling, and make it like minecraft. I've heard this game is very popular and uses just cubes.  Perhaps as name Bitcraft  :).

You must understand that I am trying to develop this project on my own - so as for now this chat feature is getting ++ priory :) but before there are a lot of other things to do :)

When chat feature and walking around 3d models of members are gonna to be added - there is another great feature that I am thinking about.

Someone, or a group of people will be always inside of our Embassy (as a staff). You will be able to walk to that person and ask him about whatever you like. Those Staff members are gonna be people who indeed know A LOT about Bitcoin - if project will gain some donations, I will pay fair stake to those who will work there as a staff :)

In the future something like this is possible - why not. But for now I suggest to make simple 3d models :) if I will get some donations I will pay to some 3d designer to make something that will looks good in our futuristic designed Embassy :)

Ad. (2) Cubism is something that I like :) but  :) I think we will stay with more oval lines of the 3d models ;P

But! I love your idea and there is something I will do with it! :) I will make a game inside of our Embassy - a seperate room when you will be able to "mine" Bitcoins in similar way that you mine resources in Minecraft :) just an arcade mining game with some mining definitions added to learn people what really "mining" mean.

The ATM looks very realistic, good job.

Perhaps you could link IRC chat into it. You would directly have a lot of chatters in the virtual world, except they would not move around  :)

So the idea is, a virtual world in which people can easily learn about bitcoin?

Connecting with #BitcoinOnlineEmbassy IRC channel is good idea too - but this feature is not necessary for a purpose of it's creation :)

This is what is is mentioned to be. A place where you can learn most important information while you're in a virtual world.

Unity3d engine can work with Oculus Rift - another great feature so you can indeed "visit" our Embassy :)

ps. Thanks for your opinion about ATM :) it's not yet finished :) It looks not bad for now :P

And I can't wait when I will make it works! :) But this need a lot of time, and I need to work on other projects to earn some money :( So it will take a while ... a day or two ... I hope. Problem is with how to get all of the original screens from this Robocoin ATM :) rest is just coding and animating :) Easy :]

Yes indeed this reminds me about Second Life a bit :)

I am sure that some Bitcoin enthusiasts are Second Life players so they can build it up on their own over there :)
I will not stick it to Second Life on my own from few reasons:

1. I don't play Second Life.
2. It is much better if anyone will be able to visit out Embassy without users/passwords/members accounts - Second Life needs it. Our Embassy is open for everyone. You just need to type a web address and your in.

I have big news!

I sent an e-mail to Project Skyhook's Co-Founder! He wrote me back -  and he will send me original screenshots from all of the screens showing during using their ATM and I will get 3D model too! (which I hope I will be able to convert to work with Unity3D).

Our Embassy will soon have a Virtual Skyhook ATM machine !! So all of you are gonna be able to see how does it works!!!

I must say I am big enthusiast about Bitcoin Online Embassy (http://www.marcinkozbial.host56.com/BTC_OE/BTC_OE.html) project.

From day I started to build it up I had a feeling that I am starting something big.
Something bigger than I even imagine.

And now I am 100% sure that Bitcoin Online Embassy (http://www.marcinkozbial.host56.com/BTC_OE/BTC_OE.html) will be one of the most important places to visit for all of the Bitcoiners in the near future!

Now, to answer your great questions: (Questions like yours helps me a lot)


Till now Bitcoin Online Embassy (http://www.marcinkozbial.host56.com/BTC_OE/BTC_OE.html) is 'Off-line' (half on-line half off-line :P we can say) development. As you know.
Implementing a MMO(Massively multiplayer online) functionality into this project is  on the list of To-Do and it is possible with no big problems as Unity3D support functionality like this one. So it will be able to support 100+ visitors if needed.

And what is about a server - what you see now, a test version of Bitcoin Online Embassy (http://www.marcinkozbial.host56.com/BTC_OE/BTC_OE.html) is placed on free server :) hostinger.com. That was my free server which I was using till now for everyday needs like uploading images to post @Bitcointalk :D It is not stable and it is going down when traffic is bigger than small :)

We need powerful server. I cannot at the moment pay from my own pocket. My financial situation is something what I don't like to think about :) But... this May I graduated (IT Bachelor) and I can focus on my projects instead of exams at university :) so I hope fruits of labor will come one day.

This is why I am asking for donations - at the moment it depends a lot on a community how good this project will became. I can work on it 24/7 if I will be able to do it. We can hire more people when it will be needed (coders, 3D designers, staff for our Virtual Embassy). We can make it huge.

What is more about the server - we need a server + domain. I am pretty sure reasonable servers can be found in a price like $20-$30 per year. But If I will be able to pay for a better one - I will pay for better one. I am not sure which one would be the best for us but we can choose together with community.  Best one would be the one that will work fast and 24/7. My project is not heavy weight yet. Host server disk space will be not a problem, as few GB will be enough.


First I should ask, is any other Unity3D project working on your Mac?

And again I have a problem with testing Embassy with an Oculus Rift :) as I haven't got one. I dream about one because my close friend bought it :) but he is a game tester in Canada now :) and he took his Rift with him :) ... I will need to ask him to do some testing for me I hope he will be able as I wasn't talking with him from few weeks.. or maybe months..

And you can help me with testing too! Which is great!
I will try to implement this open source WebRift into Embassy ASAP - I will have a look at it right now. I will let you know when I will be able to tell you something more about it.

Today I upgraded Bitcoin Online Embassy with :

-Better looking Robocoin :) but I still haven't got screenshots from functionality screens.
-I add another item to the gallery
-Add VIP members section
-and I did changed a floor and tiling a little bit.
-Add a box with controls in a left upper corner - and you can center your mouse arrow when you like by pressing middle mouse button.

Today I am on my way to buy a Unity3D license and pay for a server!!!
I am trading Bitcoin to PLN just now - already sold 3BTC and I still need to sell almost 1BTC to have enough for unity3d.

Hi there, just wanted to report a bug I found.

I've tested it a bit and think it may be caused by walking into the floating @ block. It knocks a few bricks out of place which eventually brings the whole place down. I'd suggest moving the @ block a little further away from the walls, or better yet strengthening the integrity of the walls.

Oh well I see what happens.

"Contact us" box transform its rotation and it's collider hits the wall perhaps ...
I will work on it and I think anyway in the full MMO version, I will disable possibility to replace bricks :)

Or I will make something to make it possible but it will not create a mess :) :)

This project is yet very, very young so there are many things to improve perhaps :)

I am working on how to implement multiplayer functionality and other stuff that need to be coded good so bugtests are very important to make everything work just right :)

Chat functionality is under development ...

It's working on my local machine but it wasn't tested outside yet :)

As for now you have to create a server to start a conversation. (if it work at all for different machines :)...)
So it is like in FPS games ;) you create a room, wait for players, etc.

I think this is good idea to let people create their own "meeting rooms" and one or few meeting rooms servers working 24/7 :)

And avatar &stuff too but let me work on connectivity first :)

Things are starting to look better. Probably it will work on other machines, as you use the  Unity engine

New button to turn on/off mouse look. (Just press E or M)

Well and a lot of improvement in a weight of a project.
It should work with ++ fps now as I changed wall bricks to static objects and made few improvements with their rendering to make it faster :)

I am working on a Chat functionality and I will have to do a game server to make it works.
No other way.

I need to implement a server for a chat and for multiplayer functionality.

There is too many things to work on while I want people to make their own servers..
Passive or not passive user and problems getting too much problem :)

So - best way will be to create a server which will work 24/7.

You must understand that I need time. I am working every day on Embassy but I need to do other things which makes me able to live .. if you know what I am telling you about.

I am working on Chat. I am working on Charts. I am working on another room :)

I need to work on it some more as after you press "HELP" button on Skyhook you can only see how does original 'Help screen' looks but you cannot read any help yet :)

and you cannot cancel your operation :) you just have to complete it when you start it ;) (~10 seconds :) )

I think functionalities like possibility to use Skyhook or other ATMs and learn about Bitcoin is great feature which was needed. In the world of beatiful PC games and Virtual reality our Embassy suits perfect and will provide help to learn what really Bitcoin is.

I'm interested to know the objectives of this project. As an educational tool, it seems just... more complex than say Wikipedia or an info-website.

It is very cool though in terms of modelling etc, but not sure of its overall objective if that makes sense.

Well - just some updates :

- lower weight ;) ~6MB :) for now ..
- 2 LCD screens with Bitcoin Price [Market Price USD] and Volume [Estimated USD transaction Volume] (thanks to Blockchain.info - it looks great but soon I will design my own charts)

- I deleted "Robocoin" - Company didn't sent me screens and for now when I haven't got screens I decided to remove it as it was useless..

- Soon I will put into our Embassy Lamassu ATM, if someone want to make GOOD 3D model of this ATM and send it to me :D I will be pleased and will add you to our VIP supporters list! :)

- Sooner :) Virtual Blockchain.info tutorial is so close to be released :)

You must remember that I cannot focus ATM only on the Embassy :( So updates needs more time...

You need to come close to our gallery near the "Blockchain.info" box and press the button :)


You will find buttons to play/pause/reset and return to the Embassy on the left :)

I was checking your site. Why is it asking me to install Unity Web Player ?

Because Bitcoin Online Embassy is developed with Unity3D engine.

So you need Unity Web Player if you want to visit :)

In the future - when Unity5 will be released Embassy will be also build with webGL! So ... no more web player will be needed.
We must just wait for Unity5.

I will tell you a story - I was working on this guide for a quite a long time - from about a two weeks, and last for 2 days I was working literally NON-STOP with 4 hours of sleep every day and few hours to buy and make some food :] ...

Maybe it looks simple :) so I will tell you a developer/designer story:

At first guide was ready few days ago, it was working and MAYBE even it was better ... but ...
A weight of Embassy turn from ~5MB into ~40MB .... and it was JUST one simple guide ... where will be the space for other guides and all stuff, models, etc ?? ... Embassy need to load/open ~as fast as possible. ~40MB! HUGE for people with limited offers or  slower connection ... drama...

So ... I asked my self - how to make it and don't change a weight of a file as much ...

I started do redesign everything ... EVERYTHING.... instead of Hi-Quality movie clips (which I DID compressed before AS much AS was possible to make it VISIBLE (HQ) for a visitor) I decided to use "pictures" ...

And ... this was a beginning ...
I know it looks simple ...
I know ;)

Now imagine:

- "Text - for a guide" ...  I did my best - can change some mistakes if someone will spot some x) :)
- ~40 Screenshots - each one edited. Let say this is easy, just take a time.
- ALL of the "Screens" are animated :) so ... while the text is scrolling, everything must be just "at the right time".
-Well... thanks to Unity3D and "Animation" tool - which is very, very powerful, I was able to do this  :) in well ... a day or some... :)
-Then ... :) Skybox .. which some can say isn't very high quality, but it all depends ... on how much MB you want to give for just a skybox ... so I did my best :) and add some FXs :) so you can feel like you are in the space! :) Look at all those flying "meteorites" and other space objects! and not only :) look down ... from where the text is scrolling :) Imagine this with Oculus Rift (I need to do something with this head tracking - I will work on it, I cannot make even a test as I don't own Oculus :( But will do something in the nearest future with  Headtracking for Embassy Rifters )
-And some simple scripting to make those PLAY/PAUSE/RESET/EMBASSY buttons ... but literally ... ~100 #lines together.

During that a lot of test runs :) some simple changes  and here we go :D

It looks simple :)
I hope it will be a good guide for every one who want to understand in 411 seconds how to use blockchain.info. (basics :) )

What's news:

-News board script - turn the pages on your own :) now we just need to upload 1 news file and Embassy will do the rest :)
-No bumping while walking between floor tiles :) Some say it was not nice :)

For our 1st guide:
-New buttons! Speed ++/Speed --/Rewind   so you will be able to set up your own speed :) some of us read faster, some slower so you can set your own speed.

Yes!  In the future it will be MMO project. But to create an MMO  in the Unity I need to figure out few problems - like we need a dedicated server :-) and good scripting to make it works just fine with no bugs and well ... security must be improved as well as people will be able to create their own accounts and earn some EmbassyTokens :-)  so answer is yes-it will be MMO - but I can't say when.  In the future :-)

Everyday I see people posting their questions about Bitcoin. Online Embassy will provide answers to all of the most important questions for bitcoiners!

Why to spend hours on searching and reading informations about BTC, when you can enter to the Bitcoin Online Embassy and in our nice 3D environment learn about most important basics and not only - like for example you can test run new ATMs on your own even when there is no any BTC ATM in your city :) or you are thinking of buying it .. :) you can check how it works in the virtual world :)

Well ... Embassy will be only growing. Many ideas are going to be implemented. This will be the best Bitcoin Online Embassy ever! :) And for sure - FIRST one! :)

Hi roslin, first of all i'm glad that you're continuing to support the embassy as promised in the beginning of the project. Do you think that it can be hard to implement an internal bitcoin payment system for buying services or virtual products during the visit?

Well, if there will be anything to buy in our Embassy it will be something connected to someones service - like an exchange or an online shop.

So we don't have to implement an internal bitcoin payment system, as this would be very hard indeed.

Well there are some ideas about it but I don't want to tell all of the secrets :)

As for now developing is focused on guides, ATMs, other cool components, multiplayer etc.

I've been corresponding with roslin and I believe the intention is to keep the focus on being more of a resource for Bitcoin newbies than becoming a money making machine, at least for now. I've made some suggestions as to how this project might support itself and roslin has been very receptive but things are still very malleable. In any case, there's nothing stopping users from conducting business within the environment and displaying their own BTC addresses generated elsewhere.

About the game:
BTCasteroid is dynamic arcade space shooter game where you are in a control of Bitcoiner's space ship which was traveling to the Jupiter from the Moon and on their way a heavy meteorites rain appear suddenly.

In the game you need to destroy as many of meteorites as you can and also catch fly-by Bitcoins! :) It is good to have some more when space traveling!

How to play?
We are starting the BTCasteroid game from "Wave 0".
In each wave more meteorites will fall and more speed will be added too.
Also between each wave there is a short delay, which is decreasing.
Meteorites spawn delay is also decresing during the game.
Also more "huge white" meteorites are spawning when player will reach higher waves.
 
After each 10 second a Bitcoin is dropped! Try to catch as many as you can!

A highscore is counted for both. For caught Bitcoins and for shot meteorites high score will be separated - you can try to catch bitcoins only without shooting :) or you can focus on meteorites and don't give a care of flying by Bitcoins :)

 
In future updates you will get:
-A space-granade (each bitcoin caught one space-granade will be added)
-Double laser from level 12
-Triple laser from level 15
-Other weapons
-More meteorites
-New areas
-And other cool ideas which I didn't realize yet :) share yours if you got some :)

Also share your feelings and highscores!

There will be an online score board - just give me a time - as for now scores are displayed only for your local machine.

I would like to say that I can show you my scripts :) no problem, but you understand that Bitcoin Online Embassy is created in Unity3D. So ... I will not share all of the assets that I am using because some of them are "Pro version" only and I cannot just *.rar the Embassy project folder and share with the people ...

If someone want to see all of the .js / .cs scripts I am able to upload it with no bigger problems - just let me know.

-Brand new character mechanism system. Now... it feels like walking! :) (Thanks to the new Unity Beta Assets!!)

-Imporoved graphics! Added some reflective materials for 'Thanks' cube and not only :) (Monument too :) )
And well ... this isn't the only change in the graphics :)
