Post by: Quantumplation on July 29, 2010, 12:33:43 PM The transaction will be accepted into a solved block if the person who solves said block chooses to incorporate your transaction into his solution. That means it needs to propagate across the network. Is your "Connections" greater than 0?

I just restarted. Was the transaction not sent for some reason, is there a way to force the client to rebroadcast the transaction... if there is some glitch/bug? Post by: FreeMoney on July 29, 2010, 01:48:37 PM If your client says 0/unconfirmed then afaik that means it knows that it needs to continue to be broadcast until it gets into a block. I don't know why it would take 2 hours though, maybe someone else knows. Do you normally only have 4 connections?

Post by: knightmb on July 29, 2010, 03:20:12 PM Yeah, a block is being solved every 10 minutes or less, it shouldn't take 2 hours unless the client has somehow lost connection to the rest of the network.

If you don't already have all 70,000+ blocks in the block chain, then you transaction won't show up as confirmed until you catch up. Title: Re: Transaction disappeared in the void... Post by: satoshi on July 29, 2010, 10:08:31 PM If the transaction didn't go out immediately at first, like if you weren't connected at the time, it may take up to 2 hours to resend it. Long term, it does keep relentlessly sending it.
I'll shorten that length of time in a future version. You do need to have downloaded the complete block chain (currently 71040 blocks) before you'll see any confirms. Same with the recipient. Post by: Brre on July 30, 2010, 11:28:23 AM The transaction started confirming about 4 hours afterwards after a couple of restarts... my block chain was updated, what was alarming was that previous transactions keep ticking up, for some reason my client was unable to broadcast that transaction, but was receiving everything OK..
I am on a slow 128k connection though... |
