Title: Two SCAM coins you should be aware of: AimCoin and Universalcoin
Post by: nikczemnybobr on May 21, 2014, 11:42:21 AM
1. Aimcoin - developers offer a chance to bid and win a luxury Audi R8 car. Bids will be made using AimCoins mined and bought by community users. However, 15% of all coins will be premined and there are some serious doubts whether the developers even own a car. Honestly, I do not think so. This is probably a well planned scam to premine 15% of all coins, then rise the price higher by the lust of people to win R8 car and have all or most of those premine coins dumbed. All you will be bidding, is a photo of a car.

2. Universalcoin - another one with IPO and a value for one universalcoin set to be 0,01 BTC. How? Moreover there is an IPO with minimal value of... 1 BTC. Another scam, stay away.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've never heard of AimCoin and will never invest in it.

UniversalCoin is making some heads turn, it would be worth watching how it goes. The two main features (minimum value and anti-theft) are promising but it is unclear how the devs are going to implement these features.

Being that unclear is a sign of a scam, so be careful. Either the features can be delivered, or they can't. Release the info for peer review before attempting to take any proceeds for an 'IPO.'

Yeah, that one is crazy.  There's another coin that's trying to pull the same scam -- "fixing" the price at some arbitrary amount.  The other coin is called Dirac.  I don't know if it's the same dev or not, but I have my suspicions.

I don't label something as trustworthy unless I verify the legitimacy.
At the same time, I don't label something as scam unless I verify illegitimacy.

So I may steer clear of these coins, but that does not mean I would label them as scam yet

dunno if you're retarded or just lack reading comprehension.

that is universitycoin, not universalcoin, although universalcoin is definitely a scam.

Sorry above.I drank too much and miss seeing the "salon" letters :-\
But making a coin is easy now for people who pays a small amount of BTC so more scams will appear.
