It should happen any day now.

I couldn't install the Qora wallet.  I knew I didn't have Java and guessed that was the problem.  Instead of trying to figure out what Java I needed and install it from different websites, I took a leap of faith and installed the NXT client from here with a one click install.  http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/  After that the Qora client worked perfectly.  Just wanted to mention it in case others are having problems.

With the limited signature privileges of a newbie, I am able to put in an URL to a website,  however when I put in the text-only version described by the OP, I find that my Qora address is truncated. Same result on two different browsers.

Is my text field limited in characters for a newbie?
If so, then I can't participate in this.

Does your Signature Validation check that the account is valid? I ask because I had a "Copy Address" problem, and didn't realise because the clipboard already held a Nxt address, and I got through the registration with an address that probably wouldn't work. Eventually I noticed Qora addresses are supposed to begin with Q, and didn't, so I've fixed it now, but it would have been nice if Signature Validation had warned me.

You might want to edit the first post to be clear that signatures can contain other stuff. I wasn't sure if I'd have to stop including my Bitcoin address to include Qora.

Does anyone know if there are plans to blank out the qora client's password fields when you are filling them in? They were clearly visible in plain text when I filled them out, which is making it really easy for shoulder surfers.

I don't think there are such plans.

The script sends coins every 7 days starting from the moment of registration your signature in the system.

It's 100% POS. It can only be 'mined' after setting up a multipool.

Some people still have problems with the client. Just delete 'wallet' folder and recover the wallet from seed.

I believe it's fine if the giveaway is external. The problem arises if the giveaway requires people to post in a thread, as then it results in a ton of spam. I have no idea why people are posting 'signature added' or whatever they are doing, as the giveaway is external and should be coded to grab the address automatically.

And what is wrong, you don't see any addresses? Did you try to down load the client again and recover wallet from seed?

You'll get coins not earlier than a week since you've added it. After the first week system will start attemps to send you coins. As soon as you have Activity 28 you get first coins.

i am trying to restore my qora wallet from Seed ID, however i get this message "scanning blockchain please wait..." and it's been almost a day and did not restore. i tried to repeat  it again and still the same message.

Hope someone can help as i am new to the crypto scene and really don't want to loose my first purchase of Qora.

i Removed it and installed again twice, but the coins i had don't show up anymore, and when i try to replace the wallet.dat file it does't open.
as for restoring the wallet Seed ID, nothing shows up in my account.

When will I get quora? One week after the addition of a signature?

Just signed up today. Ever since the PD sig program ended, it's been difficult finding good sig programs. I find Qora to be an interesting coin and even have a few QORA myself, so I thought it might be a good idea to join this program/giveaway. Even if 250 or 1000 QORA isn't worth much, it still raises awareness of the coin so I believe that is a good thing.

EDIT: Also my address is actually the deposit address for my Poloniex account. Hope this is OK.

Not sure. I've been depositing it directly into my Poloniex account. Looking at my deposit history, it seems the last payment was on the 13th of November:

I didn't post much in November so perhaps that might have something to do with it. The faucet, on the other hand, seems to be working though. :)

EDIT: Not sure why but upon closer look, it looks like I received 2,999 QORA on the 13th instead of the usual 1,000 (or 999). What's going on there?

It appears nobody has been paid their weekly payout for a month, although the OP has not yet stated the giveaway is over.

The OP got scammed out of 100 million qora and he's not been active since. That could have something to do with it.

I've removed the Qora sig for now. I still support Qora, and I think it's a good coin but I figured the giveaway is no longer active. Strange to see that there was no announcement of it closing though. Everything still looks like it's running. Only the payments have stopped.

Haven't heard about it in ages now... the protocol still sound? Or has it busted?

My knowledge about Qora is a little bit out of date but from what I understand, Qora was on two exchanges (or three if you count ShareXcoin which turned out to be a scam). These were Bter and Poloniex. At first, Poloniex had issues with their wallet which remained unfixed for months despite the owner busoni asking for help from the Qora dev and the community. During this time, nobody could withdraw their coins. Finally, they decided to disable all deposits and withdrawals and wait until the problem was fixed.

While this was happening, Bter also suffered a major hack. Obviously this was another big blow for Qora.

The Qora dev also scaled back his involvement with the community. Last time I checked, another team called Automated Transactions had taken over development and they were planning on integrating AT functionality into Qora and another altcoin called BURST. Qora was already open source by then.

A quick scan of their official thread here (http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881230) shows that a new wallet version was released on April 6 so it looks like development of the coin is still ongoing.

EDIT: Looks like they have a new thread and a new dev team too. Not sure if it's the same AT team who is developing the coin or if another team has taken over:

AT team is still working on QORA and should release a new version with AT fairly soon, plust here are also multiple other new devs who started working on Qora in the past couple months.

hey guys, i just tried to withdraw qora from bter and  and it's stuck with the error "Error:201 wallet does not exist"

Are you familiar with this issue ? What to do ?

Bter is having trouble upgrading to new wallet, one of the Qora devs is trying to help them get it sorted out but Bter isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
