You have to add a simple .conf file to your wallet and point your asic on your local IP, like this :

Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1
gen=0

Code:
bfgminer (or cgminer) -o http://127.0.0.1 -u username -p password [ASIC Confs] or [GPU Confs] or [CPU Confs]

Tell us, why would anyone mine your coin? What does it offer and why is it worth anything? SHA256 these days is an unfortune idea. Moreover, you did premine 1%, right? Good luck with that!

I can tell you why ME will mine this coin. Because have an old little ASIC in my drawer, and it's time for take it out :)

Yes, 1% premine it's reasonable. Part of this will be redistribuite with faucets, bounties, giveaways, and more. Or you want to pay for it ?  If yes, you are welcome. ;)

disappointing. my miner doesn't like solo mining. not only are you limiting the number of coins, you are also limiting the number of miners able to mine this.
This needs a pool or two.

Interesting concept, however with the little info provided here, I don't see:
-how you plan to make it pool resistant (why wouldn't they be able to spread the reward?),
-what stops someone with a 1THs asic from mining this... I don't see why it wouldn't work in http...

- SevenCoin it's pool resistant because the block reward it's one satoshi. They cannot pay shares and they cannot earn nothing if they will pay who find the block, because satoshi is the most little amount, and I've remove all tx fees.

- Try to config a big ASIC for work in SOLO with getwork protocol and you will see that don't work, or you lost 90% of your hash power. It is, they work fine only with stratum protocol.

fair enough,

please explain why you have a need for a premine on this coin?
is it just, yet another scam to make you money? make it ZERO premine and i'll plug in some old asics. I've got a cupboardful of getwork rigging which is not powered up.

I don't have a list, but I'm sure that all 55nm Asic chips working. Your jalapeno it's 55nm and will work fine.

I've try some USB Asics, like ANTMiner single, and working fine. KNC Jupiter work at around 70 GH/s. TerraHash 1.6TH don't work.

TerraHash 1.6TH don't work.

they would work; if the owner was to set up, a private pool.

you will find, that this may happen at your launch, you won't be able to avoid it, i'm afraid - and your coin will be forked before you can say 'confirmed block'. Anything that you can solo mine to a wallet, you can set up a pool for.

here's a hypothesis for you;

big garage full of 1TH/s dragon miners and a geek with far too much time on his hands; installs a private pool on DO and compiles the wallet on launch. 20 minutes later, he hooks up his 20 x 1TH/s dragons and plunders your 1seventoshi blocks until he has mined enough to give him a jolly good laugh. Then he switches to failover, for 5 mins, then pushes his rigs back onto your coin, via his private pool.

coin forks to his node;

this is called: The Point of No Return.

I hope that you really have got some protection for all the little miners who intend to be part of this because to me, as I see it, nothing is foolproof and specifying a 1seventoshi block reward, does nothing to stop the above scenario.

Wait.. so you are saying there will only ever be 7 coins. AND These 7 coins are indivisible (ie no sub parts or fractions)...

Then....

How do you premine 1%???

So are the transactions presumably?

So if there is 1% of premine.. will one block contain 0.93 of a coin? or will this be 7.07 coins :P

You have little and confused ideas :) the block reward is indivisible because it's of one satoshi.

I don't get it. Please explain.

If the blocks are indivisible does that mean only 7 lucky people will end up with a block of 1? So say 30 people are mining then you would not get any reward for all your time unless you get lucky and hit a block with 1 coin in it?

I just do not get it. Feels like I would be wasting my time?

  • The idea of pool resistance due to indivisible block rewards is novel, I'll give you that one.
  • The rarity isn't really there, 42 coin did something similar in that regard.  Technically there will be 700 million 'coins'.
  • No TX fees allows people to DDoS the chain with spam, even a 1 satoshi fee would prevent that but it's tough when that's a whole block reward.
  • Where's the wallet??

1. thank you

2. it's true. but if you calc like this, you have to do it for all coins too. Bitcoin is 21Milions * 10 Milions of satoshis (Totally 210Milions of coins)

3. true, but who will spam the network with a full block reward ? We will see how much value will be one sat of SevenCoin. I'm sure people will like more to hold this then use for spam.

monday 16/06 at 21 GMT. Sorry
