Did I miss a price drop?
It is still up compared to the price 2 weeks ago.

There was a bubble? When? As far as I'm concerned, this is just the price stabilizing after several panic sells.

60 usd swing downward is nothing. Worry if it dips below 400 again.

Yes, a 30 dollars fall after a 50% rise means the bubble is bursting  ::)

This is called consolidation, after a big rise there is always a small correction like this, then a new stable(for bitcoin pattern) price. Well, some might say that $30 variation is price is "stable" for bitcoin patterns, and I wouldn't disagree.

small hint: in the speculation sub forum you'll find many discussions about bitcoin price and if we are on a bubble or in the way to moon

As others have said, this is stable for Bitcoin!

Looks like it is about to make another move up, anyway.

They wont. There are always new ppl around that never expirienced MtGox or any other scenario before it, and there are always troll and FUD spreaders.

Currencies fluctuate on a daily basis.  Next time the dollar drops slightly will you be making a post about the dollar bubble bursting?

The last high of bitcoin price are $1250 +

I don think it will burst before reaching the double of $1250 .

I would not fixate on the day to day or even month to month price.
In the long run it means little unless you are running some expensive mining rigs or or running a bitcoin based business.

And $10,000 ?

Slow down. Not so fast.

Actually I wrote an article quite a while ago as to why over a long time frame the price of bitcoin should rise to very high prices eventually to infinity of current world currencies.

In the shorter term however there will be many price up's and downs which investment people sometimes call 'noise'.

You may need to wait several decades or longer for bitcoin to reach $10,000 each --- eventually it will certainly be reached and beyond......

bitcoin price is still finding a right value after that 1200$/btc bubble, it may take some time to settle down, but the apsolute floor is about 400$ judging by the market data.
after next halving, there will be much more action, as supply will decrease 50%+all btc that gets lost everyday..
for investers, btc is still a good choice coz its giving almost safe 50% increase in 2 years.
alot of ppl that want a quicker rise, on the other hand will flee to ltc, for sole reason that it has much more chance of rising in x folds.

We're still around the 3-month ATH, why do you think it's falling apart?
10k by 2015 is going to happen.

Bitcoin stay at $400 for some times it mean thats the lower amount it can go by and in a week it raise to $630 .

Lets see how long it will stay at the price now .

Maybe 2016. Wouldnt put it "by 2015", that's only 6 months from now.
I think that main event will be in 2 years when halfing will occure. Price going up before as everyone horde, and mad swings after...

I do not think we will see 10 k price this year but the highest price of the year is 7000 USD. Next year it will be much more over 10 k.

Wise talking.
Unless ebay starts accepting btc like right now and everyone goes crazy, in that case we might reach 10000 still this year.

And I wouldn't call it "worrying" about the bubble ::)

I'm thinking this is closer to accurate than 10k in decades, for sure.  3-6k this year would be unsurprising and exploring the 5-digit realm in 2015

$20-30 seems like a steep drop if you're not used to BTC
probably not used to 1000$ increase either
10% drop is still stable imo

It just dropped to 596...and hovering at 599...

Interesting to see it at work though. Not scared. Not panic selling.

Will still buy next week whatever the price is

I actually think this is quite bullish.

It looks like it's going to get what would normally amount to a 3-week long correction, out of the way in 48 hours.

Are you a crypto FBI girl with inside info? Few hours before the news about FBI move their coins to a future auction you came here talking about a bubble ^^

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2014/06/12/silk-road-bitcoin-on-the-move-as-government-prepares-to-auction-off-18-million-worth/

For me it is not a bubble, just people panicking and selling, and rational people that knows that many people will panic sell are selling to buy lower. It will be like a chinese ban soap opera 2.0, but at the end we will be back to 600's

Anyone have any predictions as to when the price will bounce back up?   Are we looking at a price drop for another few days before the bounce back?

1 month for auction, can be more because some FBI guys might find a good idea get time to buy as much bitcoin as they can at the lowest price
more 6 weeks to people stops to be afraid of a big dump from whoever bought the coins.

So around 2-3 months until we back up,I think

It will probably fall in anticipation to the SR auction on the 27th. Once the auction is complete and after any winners of the auction sell their coins bitcoin will start rising again.

at the moment there are other issues( 51% atacks, FUD about exchanges, China atacking again...), and they have more seized coins to sell. So I doubt 27th will be the end

Well it looks like we are getting past "51%" issues, there will always be FUD around everything (not just bitcoin but all investments that are successful), China can likely not get more aggressive then they already are.

This isn't a bubble.
We are in the midst of a consolidation period, and this was just a news related dip.

So what do you guys think? Price drop again - is the bubble bursting before the ralley upwards end of the year? Will we see the 10000$ end of the year??

This is hardly anything. It is very volatile which makes it great for gamblers like us :)

I would like to see the price of bitcoin stabilize even if it means that the price is a little bit lower. A stable price will allow for more people to adopt it as a currency

I don't want to predict any numbers but the fact of the rising difficulty I believe will cause prices to go up. Because mining needs to at least be break even to keep most of the miners mining obviously.

Bitcoin will not be a currency but will be a store of value.

Besides, currencies go up and down all the time.
