I think anything that add value and information about the topic.

The mods may have different definition.

Please move this thread to meta I think this belongs there.

I would define them as posts that are on topic with the thread title, posts that add more meaning or value to a quote&quote subject.

You may make a lot of constructive posts in the off-topic section and it would still be considered as spamming.  :P

What are constructive posts?
You should ask this question to yourself before posting..! Do you feel the Post you are making is required..? if you are making it unnecessarily then I won't call it constructive.

actually constructive posts are posts that contribute to the discussion, that aren't insubstanial and usually aren't one liners
they have to be related to the topic

I know exactly what they are I don't need any Description used everywhere..! the size of posts doesn't reflect how much substance they have . I'll prefer a one line answer over a 1000word paragraph if that concludes all that is required in reply.

What are constructive posts?

Well constructive posts aren't made of just one word like: "yes","i agree", "lol", etc... so give your personal opinion, or answer adn the question and give the reasons why do you think it's lke that.

Constructive posts are the "useful" posts.

No spam posts, like "I agree with you".

Trolling or making fun about someone/thing.

Copying and Pasting posts.

In the end, it's the post you feel it added something new and you made effort it it.

Like this post.

In my opinion constructive post not only is related to the topic, but you must read most of the topic replies before yours and look if someone not said tye same thing as you want to say.

For example, the posts of joshraban76 and jaberwock  are constructive posts. A non constructive post could be a single image, a reply "yes/no".. basically messages you put some effort in that are useful to others  :)

i'd love to see this moved to Meta and hear the opinions of some mods and such. with the signature campaigns, and people obviously out to make money (:P), it's good to keep in my mind they they will have different standards than say, Stunna.

Pretty much what everyone else said. This very thread has some good examples. Looking at it, every post in here except these two would probably be considered constructive, given the context:
posts related to the topic with information.
Anything that is not related to the topic.

Those posts are not constructive because they are short and quite clearly didn't read the thread to see if someone had already said what they were going to say. In fact, I'm going to look over their posting history to see if they need to be banned.

But their length does not matter?

Length does not matter but if someone already replied same thing before her/him then why post same thing again. That is why always read OP and other post too before reply.
