Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: pooler on February 29, 2012, 05:57:21 PM Is there an ARM CPU LiteCoin mining program this PC for $25 - http://www.raspberrypi.org/ (http://www.raspberrypi.org/) The current version of cpuminer should build and run fine on ARM, although it will use a C implementation. By the way, you need the $35 version if you want an ethernet controller. The topic has also been discussed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53756.msg641323#msg641323 Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: matthewh3 on February 29, 2012, 05:59:16 PM Thanks. I think it deserves its own thread.

Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: tom10122 on February 29, 2012, 11:51:54 PM Well i dont know how much kms you could possibly get out of it , im think .5 AT MOST , but since it runs linux it should be relatively easy to mine though http://www.arm.com/community/software-enablement/linux.php arm is supported which is a key thing, just a matter of time until a dev gets their hands on it , but that may take awhile since they sell out fast

Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: matthewh3 on March 01, 2012, 12:28:53 AM I don't know much about the PSU of the RaspberryPi apart from it's 5v I think. So I reckon it would use less than 25W while mining?
Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: LoupGaroux on March 01, 2012, 05:35:07 PM The announcement for Raspberry Pi's has been made, and the waiting lists for orders are open.

Kool can't wait for the hash-rate to be announced if it's worth it I'll get a 'farm' of them to go with my ASIC/FPGA farm I'm building ;) At the least I could use one of these low power RaspberryPi to run the boards :) Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: Liberate on March 01, 2012, 09:55:29 PM Interested in seeing the hash rate of this thing, thinking of buying one eventually may as well put it to good use.
Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: forsetifox on March 02, 2012, 01:39:17 AM I'm guessing it does around 15-25Mhash/s. =3 (Bitcoin mining)

Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: LiteBit on March 05, 2012, 04:45:02 PM On RPi's website FAQ...
What Linux distros will be supported at launch? Fedora, Debian and ArchLinux will be supported from the start. We hope to see support from other distros later. (Because of issues with newer releases of Ubuntu and the ARM processor we are using, Ubuntu can’t commit to support Raspberry Pi at the moment.) You will be able to download distro images from us as soon as the Raspberry Pi is released, and we will also be selling pre-loaded SD cards shortly after release. Do any of the current LTC miners work with Fedora, Debian and ArchLinux? Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: shakti on March 05, 2012, 04:56:29 PM On RPi's website FAQ... Is that a rhetorical question? :) If it is not, the answer is yes, cpuminer should work on pretty much all Linux distros. It even works on Solaris/SPARC, I think that's enough said. :D Title: Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining Post by: marked on March 07, 2012, 06:17:42 PM Is that a rhetorical question? :) I've got a couple of UltraSparc 5 boxes.
