Title: Old Bitcoin faucets? Post by: leex1528 on June 27, 2014, 05:06:33 PM So was anyone around at the start here, I just have been doing this for the last 7-8 months or so, has been great fun for me!
My question is how did faucets used to work? I know know you roughly get between 30-50 satoshis per half hour at most sites...etc. I would like to know if at one point .01BTC were given out for faucets, or were they always like that? Any stories where someone got a lot of BTC early in the game just from faucets? Title: Re: Old Bitcoin faucets? Post by: hodlmybtc on June 28, 2014, 12:22:40 AM Unfortunately I wasn't around at that time but I can recall reading somewhere that Gavin himself had a faucet giving away whole BTC's.
Maybe someone can confirm this? Title: Re: Old Bitcoin faucets? Post by: Swordsoffreedom on June 28, 2014, 01:41:18 AM There was Gavins Faucet back in the day

I moved the funds to a mybitcoin.com wallet. They were lost forever. Title: Re: Old Bitcoin faucets? Post by: PolarPoint on June 28, 2014, 08:34:08 PM Are you serious? One whole bitcoin faucet? Considering you could mine 50 btc every 10 minutes using a cpu, 1 btc is not that much. I wish I knew about bitcoin earlier, it is not too late now I suppose.
