Now if this doesn't get people into cryptos I don't know what will. I make budget physical bitcoins and I do everything I can with my profits to get people involved. Hell get me lots of downloads and reviews and I might get my money back. I know I never will but I know I will get a few into cryptos :)

Anyway, that's a great idea; we need more of this sort of thing to spread the word. On the other hand, without them having information of what to use bitcoins for / where to use them to get what they want, many will probably just ignore it. I imagine you won't be able to pay out much for each prize, but perhaps link the game somehow to shops or auction sites that use bitcoin? This would immediately make the connection for people that this is something they can easily use to buy stuff with, instead of relying on fiat, and not just some geek only thing.

General play flows well. There might be a bit of a problem with the game running in the iPad 1, and trying to push on the facebook button anytime. App crashes then. If it helps at all, I do have the facebook app installed too. I really don't know how these things work, but anyhow I thank you for keeping the game backwards compatible for us oldie iPad owners

[as a contrast, some BTC wallet apps need you too have at least an ipad 2, I think]

Why does the app need the permission that it needs?

It needs the permission because it has a link to another game on there which is deemed for adults only.

Thanks for the bug of the Facebook button I will see what I can do about that. Also the prizes will be manually sent by me for now. When we have a few more wallet apps we can possibly link up the game we can do this automatically. So don't worry about having a wallet app just leave your details and I will send prizes. That is when we get the leaderboard refreshing which will be next week .

Hi I am hoping to start prizes as of thurday latest. To start the prizes will be Total of 0.01 every 2 days to start with and see how this goes.

Hello we have found the bug in the Leaderboard so to be safe we have said prizes start 7th july. Don't play too much before please or tell anyone... We want people playing for prizes not only for fun.

Anyhow, that calls for a discussion on sound programming practices. I have not programmed for iPad, but guess you can make it harder for pirates to cheat?

I thought for example, that gameplay sequence could be somewhat "signed" using the public key of a key pair only to be verified by the server's owning a private key. Hey, just extrapolating ideas from my PGP days.

So the leaderboard reset over the weekend and it should do gain this morning at 4am. I have payed the top 10 score with prizes (see above). This is just to start and I am not paying prizes for funniest comments as the leaderboard is not set up properly yet to do this.

I have a few questions for players. Do you mind if I post your names next to the addresses when I announce winners?

If you share your game on Facebook I also want to reward you. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get proof from you that you shared on your Facebook? Maybe someone has a better understanding of social media than me.

While I personally do not object the publication of names, some may object their name being associated to a specific bitcoin address (which anyhow should supposedely be known for any legit transaction--- Furthermore, people can put whatever name they wish, right?). So bottomline, I tend to think publication of names is okay. Let's hear what the rest thinks.

As soon as updates on the app allow me to do something in facebook (as I mentioned the facebook button just crashes the app in iOS 5.1.1), I'll be happy to comment on that.

Ok this issue is getting dealt with but this particular issue will be dealt with next week. The leaderboard and getting people prizes which were promised are the main priority right now.
We will be keeping a close watch and I have a few white hat friends who are currently playing with this concept but touch wood nothing so far. however I am sure some clever person will somehow manage to get a cheat in there so we will have to run around fixing it.


In the coming versions of the game he will be blowing things up with exploding crypto currencies so he is not all good.

My iPhone just died and ordered one of these. Will check it out on Monday when it arrives I don't know anyone else with an S5 to check it's not just yours. Either way we will address the problem but we need to know if others are having the same problem on an s5?

Nope.
It is only for iOS and Android.

Technically you have Android and iOS emulators for PC, so I assume you should be able to at least run the program; actually playing it however, might be another story, depending on what the app requires to work and whether or not the emulator can provide it. Oh, and you probably also need a pretty decent PC for this.

While we all most likely patiently wait for the new versions, with the Ponz throwing cryptocoins at enemies and the such (read "FUN"), I also encourage you to keep the game backward compatible as this first version is  (i.e. I'd love to keep on playing newer versions it in my ios 5.x device).

Basically every 2 days the Leaderboard is re set and the prizes re net after. the last time the Leaderboard was reset ws this morning and the prizes will be paid for that tomorrow and announced on here. Right now the prizes are delayed but soon they should be within an hour of the leaderboard resetting. The Leaderboard resets 3AM London time every 2 days.

Exactly... A lot of people call bitcoin a ponzi scheme. Well those that dont understand it. So the name of the game made me feel content at a way of throwing it back in their face

Any luck finding an S5 to test it on ? Very odd.. If its working on other Samsung it should be ok on S5. This is like the only app I've found so far that does not load.

I would be happy to work with you to debug why its not working if you have the time (and can confirm it is not just my phone).

Just for reference I am using 4.4.2, kernel: 3.4.0-1626427 and it is not rooted.

Only today I have learned about this game. I have just downloaded and installed it, but my device is not able to run it because it's not compatible with adobe air :'( I was really looking forward to play The Ponz, it seems to be so cool...

(I really have to start thinking about buying a new cellphone... mine is so old and clunker already... shame on me)

If you don't mind me asking, how are you planning to do so? Users might start trying to aim for the fiat prizes (if the implementation allows it), instead of exploring the bitcoin side of things.

We are planning it to get more people playing and downloading the game. The implementation is pretty easy. When we have downloads and can recoup some expenses we will be paying larger bitcoin prizes than FIAT. This strategy is only to get the game popular for non crypto people. What do you think?
