I'm looking to auction off some ad space on my travel blog as I wish to finance an expansion as well as make it worth my while to run.
More specifically I'm selling off slot 2 of ad space (most popular slot hence higher traffic and more valuable) on www.film2240.blogspot.co.uk as I would like to start paying a guest writer to expand the content of my site (they say focus on content first then focus on everything else to improve on the site) to cover for when I'm unable to post due to being involved with worldwide film projects.

Look at the affiliates on the site as this is where the ad will be shown.

So to summarise:
1.The traffic a month is currently 200 visitors but is consistently growing so ROI will only improve over the term.
2.The term will be 1 year for the advert (you'll recieve a date when the term starts/ends once I recieve payment,advert)
3.The size of the advert will be 800x600 to attract the most attention without spoiling the appearance of the blog in general (like higher resolutions will)
4.The image format must be a JPG as this is the easiest for me to add with blogspot.
5.The advert must meet standards to be sure that the content is suitable (no adult,scams,misleading,deceptive or other sites inappropriate for a family/youth audience)
6.I'm looking for around £550 or equivalent in BTC however I'll start the auction at 0.25BTC since I need to start selling off this slot soon,so let the auction begin :)

Before I forget the auction will end in 1 week (5/7/2014 at 8PM BST,UK time).Auction starts at 0.25BTC.Payment should be in BTC however I'll accept PayPal for UK only customers due to the lack of readily available/reliable BTC exchanges for now (as they seem to have all sorts of issues,like Intersango,etc) :)

Are you serious? 550 pounds (~$800) to get adspace on a site with 200 monthly visitors? You realize $1.90 is roughly equivalent to $1,000 visitors when your paying for impressions.

So $800 = ~400,000 visitors over the year (since its a year long ad commitment), however with your deal its ~$800 for ~2400 visitors.


Your price should be about 166x less than what it currently is

Well the pricing was based from a time when I had no reliable indicator of how to price things.The 200 visitors a month is a rough estimate since I had months before when I had 10K+ visitors a month (that was a promotional event to help out a good cause I think) so the numbers are quite variable.I mentioned 200 visitors a month as a conservative estimate (as I'd like to be on the safe side).

I must thank you for the feedback as I now know what kind of pricing I should actually expect. $1.90 (approx per 1000 visitors sounds like a good guide to me.)

I'll re-evaluate the numbers before trying again with selling off adspace as I geniunly don't know much but thought that I must make my site earn revenue and try to make something for myself (when sorting out difficult circumstances as I refuse to accept that I can only do nothing) to support myself. :)
