Good luck finding 480Gh/s for under $730? You're right that will be hard *trips over 50 people trying to dump S1s* Title: Re: [IN-STOCK] Rockminer "Rocket" RK-Box 440 - 480 GH/s ASIC Bitcoin Miner [$580] Post by: klintay on July 05, 2014, 04:47:37 AM 4 left in stock

I never expected the miner to ship on a Saturday, but you made it happen. The FC chips must vary widely because I'm getting an average of 490 GH/s (without overclocking). I think the specs advertised were 460 GH/s, so it's performing better than expected. It was easier to set up than I thought as well. Thanks for the 4- port USB hub and RPi power adapter. It's nice to power the Pi directly from the psu rather than sacrificing a micro USB cable as the power cord.
Would additional cooling improve the performance? If so, do you have suggestions on fan placement? Thanks again, I may be buying another soon! Are in house units seem to perform 3-4% better with box fans blowing behind them. Also swapping the fan from pull > push might help as well. They are more stable and have better design overall. Although the advertised speed is 450 -500 gh/s. My batch just arrived so will be posting pictures soon. Additional cooling helps a bit. Are in house units seem to perform 3-4% better with box fans blowing behind them. Also swapping the fan from pull > push might help as well. That is a good suggestion. Also there is an issue with thermal paste. One board stopped working, after taking it apart I found loads of thermal paste was seeping into the circuit boards. Cleaned it up and it was ready to go again. Title: Re: [IN-STOCK] Rockminer "Rocket" RK-Box 440 - 480 GH/s ASIC Bitcoin Miner [$580] Post by: klintay on July 10, 2014, 12:08:29 PM 2 left in stock!
Both are hashing at 450-460 gh/s! |
