This is not an computer or GPU, this is an ASIC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application-specific_integrated_circuit
Well buy it if you want (although I'm not sure about this company). Don't expect a lot of profit if you do buy it.

the sellers's website is:

https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm   he is in china and only takes BTC

An USA reseller:

Why stop at 1 TH/s?  :)
or if you want to get a 'taste' of bitcoin mining, start smaller.
The suggestion of Bimain Antminer S3 is probably an excellent one.  2 of these will give you close to 1 TH/sec.  You could also think about the older Antminer S2 which is 'all in one' 1 TH/s.

Cheers

No, you will never ROI your miner unless you have free electricity. Use some bitcoin calculator and you will understand why, make sure to put in 15% difficulty increment.

Gee if you cant make out the four corners of a table after one has been pointed to you maybe you shouldnt be mining...

2 x s3 makes 0.956 TH close to 1 TH.. 946$
Buy a Raidmax 1000w PSU 99$
Total cost 1135$...

A dragon 1TH costs 1400$ if you buy direct at lketc..
100-300 More $ if you have it shipped...

Two s3 are cheaper relatively same real estate
And more importantly consumes 200-300W LESS electricity.

Cheaper unit price cheaper electricity...
Idk how lketc is going to sell anymore units if they do not slash prices soon.

After I setup succesful, can I just turn off the laptop and leave these asic do their work alone?
Thank you :)

You connect the S3 to an ethernet cable and power it with a ATX PSU, as you will be getting two or more, you will need an ethernet cable for each PSU and might as well get a sufficiently powerful PSU to power both.  You can connect the S3 to a computer via the LAN at the IP address e.g. 192.168.1.99 (default address) to setup for the pool you are mining on, etc...

HTH

oh you need a ethernet switch.  from a company like amazon or newegg

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704173&cm_re=8_port_ethernet_switch-_-33-704-173-_-Product

  pretty much bulletproof switch

plug it into your router.   plug  in the s-3s and plug in your pc.

you do not need the pc/laptop  to run the  s-3.   just to set it up.  that switch will do up to 7 add-ons.  1 wire in 7 wires out

The OP of this thread should NOT be mining BTC! He isn't even willing to do ANY research on his own. He asks the stupidest questions and doesn't bother to read the answers to his stupid questions.

Yes,English is my second language.I am from Viet Nam and going to US(Texas) at the end of july.
I have under 2000$ for this. This is the first time I particiapate in bitcoin,so although somethings I know how to do but I still want to ask for better preparation.
The asic prices is pretty high so I want to avoid as much risk as possible  ;)

The deal breaker for me on the heavier SHA256 miners is the power consumption. Yeah, it'll get 1TH but 1000w is far too much power consumption for my liking.

buying 2 x ant miner s3 would be cheaper and can be overclocked safely to 504gh/s each to a total of approx 800w.  and cheaper than dragons also.

this is his correct choice.   buy the 2 s-3's and buy a good psu like

this  one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=evga+1300&N=-1&isNodeId=1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=evga+1300&N=-1&isNodeId=1)

he spends  1.45 btc for the miners   that is 1.45 x 630 usd = 913.5 usd  the psu is 170 after rebate  an ethernet switch is 25- 30 usd

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704043

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704173

 a few ethernet cables

 3 usd

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812422117&ignorebbr=1

total

913.50
170.00
  30.00
    3.00

1116.50

they run 930 gh and 732 watts  without overclock

If he runs in texas  power is about 10 cents a kwatt.

He should be able to run it without much fuss.

way cheaper then a Dragon Miner.

and even if all the BTC goes to shit and becomes worth less.  He will still have a quality PSU
