Title: Is it possible to get BTC from TradeHill?
Post by: sammoocow on March 19, 2012, 03:25:13 AM
I stopped being active with my bitcoins a few months ago, admittedly hoarding them for the past few months. Part of them were kept in TradeHill. I just learned they closed, having received no notification from them at the time. Am I screwed in getting those back?

I've been working non stop going through requests getting coins and fiat back to people.
It's mostly all cleared up but please send an email to info@tradehill.com if yours hasn't been addressed or returned recently.

I'm the only one working at TradeHill for now and I'll be answering info@tradehill if you send an email.
I'm doing my best to get this done but it is all being done manually and recovering from the Linode hack was a lot of work.
I appreciate everyone's patience and my biggest concern is getting everyone's funds back, and shutting down legitimately so I can resume later with trust.
This will also go a long way for Bitcoin.

I'm going to transfer 20,000 BTC to 1yvnLFMNRDRGKJ2dMqprzD68mtKga8uoJ right now to show that I still possess a large quantity and didn't lose them when Linode was compromised.

I'll work on being easier to contact. I've also got a lot going on in my life right now but want to wrap this up before moving on to a new project or direction.
I've been involved with Bitcoin for a long time and don't intend to move away from it now. I've never been so passionate about something in my entire life.

Regarding the Dwolla lawsuit: itwon't enter the next phase most likely for another 2 weeks give or take. They have been served and we're awaiting their decision.

Regards,
Jered Kenna

Now that he's taking a break from claims he can dedicate his full time and attention to the real estate development that appeared magically about the time his customers' money disappeared.

Jered,

I know you've been pretty silent on this topic for a while, but can you also get my BTC and $ back to me?  I had approximately $1000 combined in USD and BTC at TradeHill last year.  When the Bitcoin market crashed, I was content to let my balances sit there, thinking the market would eventually come back.  (No point in selling the bitcoins at the low price, taking the loss.)  With that and with moving twice, I pretty much ignored Bitcoin for about a year.

Come August and I notice the price is back up, so I try to log into TradeHill-- only to find it's been gone for quite some time.  Shocked! :o  This is probably a really old story to most people on the forum, but it was news to me.

(I had left balances at Mt. Gox too-- those are safely in my possession now.  I won't make the same mistake twice.)

At any rate, now I can't seem to get in touch with you about these balances I had at TradeHill.  I've tried nearly every channel that has been discussed here on the forums, even your phone number that you yourself posted a few months back.

Of course, I've also heard that you've been swamped with fake claims.  It is understandable if you should take some time to respond, but I would like to get this resolved before too long, especially given the time that has already passed.

I have detailed records of transactions (dates, amounts, etc.) that I can show you (Jered) to validate my claim.  I won't post them here, obviously, as anyone could then use them to impersonate me and take the claim.

To anyone else-- if you know Jered personally, or know of a way to get through to him, please help.  I would appreciate it greatly.

I'd be happy to give you 20% of whatever I can get back from Jered if you successfully put me in touch with him.

Thanks!

Dude said to e-mail him, and gave you an e-mail address. Instead of pleading for your $/BTC in a public forum, use the medium of communication given to you? kthx
