Title: [ANN] Bither - simple&secure Bitcoin wallet.(iOS/Android 2.0.2)
Post by: bithernet on July 16, 2014, 03:49:01 AM
Bither - a simple and secure Bitcoin wallet!
Decentralized, based on Bitcoin P2P network, and open source.

Bither Hot Wallet: running on your daily phone, can easily monitor your bitcoin assets, and you can also save small amout of bitcoins in it to pay bitcoins anytime, anywhere.
Bither Cold Wallet: running on your backup phone (old or cheap one), keep the phone offline and save large amount of bitcoins in it, then you can keep your bitcoins as safe as possible.
Communicating between Bither Hot and Bither Cold is simple, the only thing you need to do is scanning the QR-Code.

Any chance of implementing BIP32 and BIP39? It would be nice if I could back up the cold wallet with writing down a few words and not have to worry about phone storage or it breaking.

Hello,

here's a little more feedback on version 0.0.8 of Android:

Bug:
  • I install Bither, choose "Cold", generate 6 privkeys and make backup
  • I de-install
  • I re-install and choose cold again
  • Now I have immediately 10 (not 6) priv keys: The 6 from the backup, plus 4 new ones. Where do the 4 new come from? -> bug

Bug:
  • I install Bither, choose "Cold", generate 6 privkeys and make backup
  • I de-install
  • I re-install and choose HOT this time
  • There is no way I can restore the privkeys from my previous backup -> bug

Ideas for improvement / Feature Requests:
  • deterministic wallet - requires one-time backup for all times
  • At privkey generation, collect randomness from physical smartphone sensors and let the app be transparent about what sensors are used. For each sensor, for the digital samples of the physical measurement, just take the LSB, and respect coherence time between successive time samples, to guarantee correlation-free randomness. E.g. use as physical random sources: screen input (like truecrypt), microphone, gyroscope, camera, etc. Then, each physical input (plus also an internal pseudo random number generator as ADDITIONAL source) generates a sequence of 256 bits. You XOR all these 256bit-sequences. This yields a random sequence that is truely random beyond all doubts.
  • App shall "encourage" (or better: even "nag") the user to make and to verify backups! (compare the concept how Mycelium does it)
  • Generally, for privkey base58 text format, please use the format that starts with "5", not the one starting with "K", because the format starting with "5" is much more common and wide-spread in other apps --> better cross-platform compatibility.
  • For "Bither COLD", the backup method should be this, because phone is offline: Either display privkey on screen (as text or QR code or both), and the user shall write it down on paper or make a photo of the smartphone's screen with his digital camera! Then there shall be a verification step (compare Mycelium), and only then the "Bither COLD" shall be "happy" and shall no longer nag the user any further by showing nag screens or red text reminding user to make or to verify his/her backup.
  • About backup: Allow password-protected priv-keys. Instead of a standard method like Mycelium or BIP 000xx, you can also use a simple method like this (actually I consider this superior, see also next bullet): User selects password, and Bither generates random 256-bit sequence (with random entropy like described above). The WIF-formated priv-key of this 256bit is the QR-code (or text) shown on the screen when you make the backup. The user has to backup this key (e.g. via DigiCAM or write on paper), but the user also has to write down his password (password can also be randomly-generated by Bither itself - choice up to the user). Because the privkey that is ACTUALLY used by Bither is not the just mentioned 256bit, BUT it is
       WIF(sha256(WIF(256bit)||password)),
where "WIF(256bit)" denotes the WIF-formated string of a 256bit number, starting with "5...". And "||" denotes a simple string concatenation operation.
  • Put the idea from previous bullet one step further: Support wallet with PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY for ULTIMATE "SOCIAL" SECURITY (i.e. your bitcoins are secure even if someone points a gun at you (this is not the case for normal paper wallets):
    The method is like this:
Bither COLD (albeit method is also applicable to Bither HOT) stores "256bit" = your "root privkey" or "base privkey" on the phone! But the user can enter a password to generate a new priv key that is only TEMPORARY in memory and will never persist in memory and never written to flash-mem! Then Bither COLD generates a TEMPORARY priv key according to
       sha256(WIF(256bit)||password).
Isn't this cool? It means you can have as many priv-keys as you want "entangled" with the one privkey stored on your smartphone (so dictionary attacts like for the normal "brainwallet" method are not possible), and nobody can prove how many "derived privkeys" you have (or if you have one at all). Maybe "password1" is simple and you use it if someone holds a gun to your face. But fortunately, you still have password2 and password3 that "hide" much more Bitcoins :-)
  • Note: Of course, as said, above mentioned "hidden" or "plausibly deniable" privkey feature could also be applied to "Bither HOT". Not with the same security of course, but still much more secure than with the key itself saved on the phone's flash-mem. This allows you to take considerable amounts of bitcoins with you on your phone when you travel, in case you need them, but if somone takes your phone and uses his gun, he will only see a small bitcoin balance on your smartphone.
  • Improved "offline-surveillance" for BitherCOLD:
    - Query WiFi (or 2G/3G/4G) Android internal data counter: If it is not zero, it means you used your WLAN in the meantime -> "red flag".
    - Check that no SIM card is inserted at all (for BITHER COLD, a SIM card is definitely not required)!
    - If SIM card is inserted, at least check that DATA plan is DISABLED for 2G/3G/4G on this phone's Android settings - only voice is allowed!
    - Check for WiFi passwords (BitherCOLD should delete all saved WiFi passwords)
    - Maybe more surveillance measures are possible for WiFi, MobileData, Bluetooth, that I am not aware of.
  • Ad small "questionmark "?" buttons at many menus in the phone, where the user can get some meaningful explanations if required (compare "Electrum" wallet). This is useful because not all menu items etc. are self-explanatory, and simply referring to FAQ page of the app is too easy for the developer but too inconvenient for the user.
  • Add EUR as currency at least, and also other major currencies, like GBP, AUD, Brazil, Russia, Switzerland, Japan, Poland, to name just a few... Use API of any major financial web-site to convert from USD to XYZ (XYZ=EUR, GBP, ...), so any bitcoin exchange using USD can be used and still wallet can display the current balance in currency XYZ.
  • Provide documentation specification of the QR code transaction format interface on your homepage used for showing (un)signed transactions on one or on several QR codes, such that other app programmers making HOT bitcoin wallets, like Mycelium, AndroidWallet, blockchain.info and many others, can interface with BitherCOLD and serve as "hot" front-end to BitherCOLD. Hopefully, this QR code interface spec can make it to a quasi standard, maybe even a BIP 00xxx.

More comments to come, once I have tried out the handling of BitherHOT and BitherCOLD with offline transaction and scanning of QR codes... (at this point I haven't tried it yet)

Dear Michael_S,

Wow, it was so amazing to have the same idea with you, and we were surpised that you had already thought it through even before a year!  ;)

We will look deeply into your topic and consider seriously about your suggestions, and all of these helps us a lot.
Currently we are working hard on our next version of Bither Android, and that version is very important to us. You can find more details at the end of next week.

Thank you very much, and we really appreciate your help.

Sincerely Yours,

Wen Hao
Bither Team

Yes, it's a bug. Thanks for reporting.
We will fix it in Bither Android v0.0.9. https://github.com/bither/bither-android/issues/9

 :)

P.S. : The backup of Bither Cold is ok and safe, and this bug is in the reading backup file part of the code (when newly install the Bither Cold).

Because the SD card on Android are shared between Apps, we only support backup private keys to SD card on Bither Cold.
That means Bither Hot will never backup to SD card or restore from SD card. The only way to restore Cold private keys to Hot Wallet is to import private key one by one using advanced options. We suggest users keeping Cold private keys as cold as possible, and using Hot private keys as simple as they can.

We may improve this design in the future.

Thanks again for your help. It's very nice of you.

Only compress private keys are supported? Can you make the wallet support other formats too? ???

P.S. There is no address book. Can you implement that too? Thanks! :)

I understand that. But what I meant is, just import the private key even when the phone is offline and the sync when it is connected. There comes situations to import private key when the phone is offline. It would be helpful if a 'successful' message or something like that shows if the import was successful. How many mBTC is spent when default transaction fee is set to 'high' and 'low'? It would be better to show the amount below the words(high & low) in settings. ::) How about making an option to sign and verify messages? It would be great! ::) A QR-code for the signature would be good too. You can make that a bit more good by making a short line above the signature on top-left saying something like : QR-code 'right arrow', i.e., when the user slides the signature to left, the QR-code appears from right side.

Good going! Are you using any other servers for transaction? Like Blockchain.info API?

Bither has a nice looking ui, and their android version looks like it's using bitcoinj, so it's a real bitcoin client using SPV, however I checked the code and the iOS version is a "server trusting wallet". It trusts a server for your balance and transactions so if the server gets hacked or goes down, you loose access to you money.

Good going! When will the next update for iOS coming? ::)

Bither is a decentralized SPV mobile wallet based on Bitcoin P2P network, and we do not use blockchain.info API.
Bither iOS are just like Android version, are implemented with our own developped Objective-C library Bitheri, and it is decentralized too.
The server is only used for Exchanges' rate and k-line, and also history trxs when monitoring. So if the server goes down, you can still use your money or check balance, and receiving new transaction.

Bither iOS v1.1.0 will come soon after a week, maybe plus another week for Apple's reviewing time.

Thanks for your support.

You are correct. My apologies. I mistook the code that connects to the bither server api for the code that handles transaction and balance data. Sorry for the late reply. It is holiday in China from Oct.1st to Oct.7th. Other members of our team are still on vacation now. I came back earlier, so I saw your PR and merged it.

In the past, we were working hard on improving our solution. We just used script to add license infomation automatically, and we had planned to add these after we released the stable version.

We will maintain all related copyright notices in the future ASAP.

I didn't quite understand what is XRANDOM? Is there a guide? With the new update more types of private keys are supported. :D
  • Can the private keys be imported offline now?
  • Is the license related issues fixed?
  • Why is it only supporting 10 addresses/wallet? If you can't change that option(10 addresses/wallet), atleast make an option to delete addresses or archive it.
  • Please provide value of BTC for all currencies
  • Please implement an option to sign transaction from a paper wallet and to push it, after that all details will be deleted. You can check Mycelium github repo for source code.
  • Does watch only supports addresses other than the addresses in Bither cold?

Thanks! :)

Dear MZ,
XRANDOM is a TRNG (True Random Number Generator) solution provided by Bither. When generating a new private key, XRANDOM will gather entropy from different kinds of sensors of your mobile phone (e.g. : camera, microphone, gravity sensor......), these will give user true randomness. After gathering enough entropy, Bither will combine the result with Kernel's SecureRandom (e.g. : /dev/urandom on linux) and return final random number.
XRANDOM has these advantages :
1. True Randomness;
2. even one of the two random source fail, the final result is still safe;
3. cheap (you donot need to buy hardware random number generator);
4. simple.

If you want to import private keys offline, you can import to the Bither Cold Wallet, and use the Hot Wallet to monitor the newly imported addresses.
We had added license in related files.
Bither Hot Wallet support 10 "hot" addresses and monitoring 100 "cold" addresses. We set these limits cause of the performance consideration on mobile platform. Because the new version (Bither v1.1.1) will improve a lot in battery usage and network data usage, we may upgrade these limits in future ASAP.
We may try to support addresses managements (delete/archive) in a safe way.
We will add more currencies in the future version.
Thanks for your advice on paper wallet, we will think through it.
Currently, the watch-only mode only supports Bither Cold Wallet's address, because of the SPV mode and decentralized. For a central service, it's easy to implement watch-only on any addresses, because all data are on their server.

Thanks again for your advices, all these advices will help our team a lot.

Thanks for explaining! :) But if we once choos hot wallet, we can't change it into cold wallet, right? So without another phone, I can't make a cold wallet address. ::) Why I asked about deleting/archiving is because I generated 10 hot addresses when I found that we can't generate more than that, so I just want to make it sure, but now it is impossible to undo it unless you add the feature. I will try to import private key, somehow it might work. And, please show the a progress bar like for syncing because my address has received some BTC though it isn't received in wallet. So it will be good if we know how mouch time is left to sync and also you haven't added the value of 'low' & 'high' fees, please add that too. Thanks! :)

Please add these too!

  • Encryption of whole wallet not individual features like now.
  • An option to see the private key of individual address and an option to back up private key
  • If you are enabling #2 , force the users to enter password to protect it and you may want to enable file sharing through itunes.
  • An option to scan 'n' number of private keys in a row. You can make a drop-down list for this like the drop-down list shown when generating address(es).
  • Showing the full TX list of an address not from the time when addresses was imported or atleast the number of TX shown after the sign must be correct.
  • An option to explore a TX in BE from the transaction list shown, just like exploring the address in BE from the wallet.
  • Supporting other Block Explorer(BE) too, mainly, btc.blockr.io and blocktrail.com , these are the ones which is widely used.
  • An address book. It would be good if we can add details other than name and BTC address in it such as email, phone number.
  • An option to label address
  • Option to reload the transaction data of specific address(es)

I think we need to chat through Skype or something! ;) :P

Okay! ;D

Feedback:

I like the UI, it is simple and user-friendly. When importing private key, it is taking a lot of time for syncing but if I close and re-open, it finishes in a few seconds. So I think it is a bug. More than 1 Bither can be open at the same time.To resolve this, you may want to add a simple code that search whether Bither is open or not. Value of the TX fee types - normal and low isn't shown and also no option for custom fees. No 'pay-to-many' option. The current release is very simple and very good for basic usage. I believe this would become better soon. :)

P.S. Is there any way to make a watch-only wallet in desktop for an iOS/Android wallet?

2 Questions about HDM:

1. "Easy to backup (only need HDM Cold seed)" does this mean the Server key and the Hot key are derived from the cold key? (as if it wasn't, I would assume you'd also need the xpub from the server key and the xprv from the hot key to generate the addresses and sign for 2 of them.)

2. Will the user be able to scan / input their own xprv/BIP39 phrases as their key(s)? (In case I want to generate my own entropy) How would that process work?

Each HDM seed is generated separately on its own device. Server key and the Hot key are NOT derived from the Cold key. The Cold key is used for HDM Server's BitID access control. In this way, if you lose your hot phone, you can use your cold phone and server to recover bitcoins, and if Bither server is down, you can use your hot and cold phone to recover bitcoins. Generally, you only need to backup the cold seed.

2. Will the user be able to scan / input their own xprv/BIP39 phrases as their key(s)? (In case I want to generate my own entropy) How would that process work?

Currently we do not support importing seeds, because importing will make the HDM account generating process too complicated, we haven't found an elegant way to do this. We only support recover cold seed from backup at this point.

I like the multisig option, but the app could use a good re-vamping UI-wise.

Suggestions:

1. Allow for separate "accounts" within the same HDM trios. (This could be handled the same way you can now "add keys" to your HDM Hot.
   - This would allow for someone with 2 devices can separate different wallets for different occasions.
2. Once you have received a transaction to the address in your account, change the address to the 2nd index address. (automated address rotation) Also automatically rotate change addresses.
   - You can add a cog button to the account management screen (Currently: key management screen) to show all the hidden addresses of the account.
3. Allow for an option in both Cold and Hot HDM mode to type in a BIP39 phrase of their own.

Also,

- Allow for spending unconfirmed.
- Allow for setting your own fee as an advanced option. (or at least letting the user lower it down to 10 bits)

Great to see HD and Multisig married like this. UX needs work, but very very nice job!

Dear dabura667,

Thanks for your suggestions.  :D
All your advices are really helpful to us, and we may provide more advanced HDM options (accounts, change addresses...) in future release.
We may improve the UX on spending unconfirmed txs in the future. Also about the TX fee option, you may find this related setting "Default Transaction Fee", and "Normal" means counted by 100 bits, "Low" means counted by 10 bits.

Thanks again  ;)

Thanks for the "Low" fee setting. I will keep it in mind when you guys get multisig running on iPhone.

One more suggestion: Allow for an "independent cold HD" option.

So your cold device can serve 2 purposes:
1. backup key and bitID key for HDM
2. cold key for HD derived single use addresses (start with 1)

Of course, you will want the derivation paths for 1 and 2 to be different. (m/.../x/... for one and m/.../y/... for the other, for example)
But since you will be keeping it cold anyways, you might as well use it for cold storage address generation (with easy backup!) AND backup key for HDM.

I think Bither can be a good wallet for users of all skill levels, however, I think maybe a few things could be smoothed out or hidden from user by default to create more smooth user interface for beginners.

Maybe default it into a "simple mode" similar to breadwallet with just a QR to receive and a button to read clipboard or start QR scanner... then add option to revert to old GUI with all options all over everything.

Anywho, just spouting out ideas.

Can't wait for iPhone. Thanks guys!

I tried setting up my iOS HDM with a Cold HDM on Android and it tells me the signed Server QR is incorrect even though I input the correct password on my Android and it gives me the signed challenge QR fine.

My Cold HDM Android is already registered as HDM Cold with another Hot Android HDM.

I am thinking my problem is either:
1. Using the same Cold HDM for multiple HDM setups is not allowed, causing the error.
         - There should be an error message explaining that this is not allowed.
or
2. iOS and Android HDM wallets are not compatible with each other.
         - I think they should be compatible, as many people might have an old Android but not an old iOS >7.0 device.

Edit: The problem was #1. If I wiped my Cold Bither and reset the Cold to a new Cold HDM, the pairing worked.

Another "problem"?

The iOS xRandom process is insanely short.

On Android It takes about a minute (could be my Android is slow) to grab all the entropy...

iOS takes less than a second. The animation of xRandom opens, then shows the camera and transparent icons, then closes almost immediately. I am worried my Hot HDM is weak.

My specs:

iPhone 5
iOS 8.1.3

I gave all permissions to Bither when it asked for them. (right before running xRandom first time)

Yeah, you are right. We should make this error message clearer.

I've run some tests upon this and checked the code. It comes out that the BIP39 calculation speed is what differs between iOS & Android. My iPhone5s does this nearly 10 times faster than my middle end Android phone. You have no need to worry about your entropy.

Thank you for using Bither and giving advices.

I'm one of Bither's developers. I can't generate vanity address with the integrated GPU on my Macbook either. After some digging, it turns out that there are some bugs in Apple's OpenCL driver. Unless Apple fixes this problem, we won't be able to use our integrated GPU for OpenCL computation. We'll continue digging into this. Thank you for trying our wallet.

Currently Bither just uses Vanitygen (https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen) to generate vanity addresses. GPU acceleration is supported. But over clocking is not a thing on the software side, it may be done by the user using some other system utils.

We are planning to keep improving the Vanitygen (https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen) project. In the future versions of Bither, there may be more optimization.

They are, for the most part, very different.

Miners (partially) calculate a double SHA-256 hash of some input.

Vanitygen is based around a bunch of much slower elliptic curve (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptic_curve) based math (plus also requiring an SHA-256 calculation, which takes relative little time).

Mining ASICs would unfortunately not be useful.

It won't help too. We can use ASIC and/or FPGA if someone finds a software to convert this power which I wonder "how" and "when". If they found it, uses of ASIC and/or FPGA will increase in a great way.

An FPGA miner wouldn't help - but yes, programming an FGPA with the necessary functions would.. but it would mostly help in energy efficiency.  Any modern GPU blows reasonably-priced FPGAs out of the water in terms of performance.

In this software for making custom bitcoin addresses are their any areas to doctor settings to improve speeds for using gpu and over clocking etc than basic default setting.?

Currently Bither just uses Vanitygen (https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen) to generate vanity addresses. GPU acceleration is supported. But over clocking is not a thing on the software side, it may be done by the user using some other system utils.

We are planning to keep improving the Vanitygen (https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen) project. In the future versions of Bither, there may be more optimization.

Thanks for the updates. Look forward to the updates and improvements in the future. Before couldn't use my gpus to mine addresses with due to my cards using this software I am able to generate with GPU but slow. Still least I can now generate than before I couldn't. Looking forward to future updates.

HD account will use a new address every time you want to receive a payment or send a transaction with change.

We are considering maybe supporting multiple outputs transaction in some kind of a plugin.

We can still choose an address in our wallet to send change like we do now, right?

Didn't get the plugin part. Anyway, ETA?

IMHO a "+" button for adding output addresses is better. See brainwallet.github.io/#tx or 'Blockchain.info custom send' pages.

Is the HDM Server down at the moment?  I've setup my Cold Wallet and linked it to my Hot Wallet across two devices (both iOS) but on the Hot Wallet device the HDM Server does not respond to any taps.

In the Youtube video I found it shows this as a bright circle, on my phone it shows as dull.  Is this signifying it can't reach it or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

As long as they didn't lock out programming on the FPGA, sure.  That applies to any FPGA product, though - and at this point unless you're getting a sweet deal on an old FPGA miner, you'd be better off getting a dev kit from one of the big FPGA companies or their partners.

Before couldn't use my gpus to mine addresses with due to my cards using this software I am able to generate with GPU but slow. Still least I can now generate than before I couldn't.

I strongly suspect that's down to the command line used, then - the vanitygen binaries in the bither package (https://github.com/bither/bither-desktop-java/tree/master/vanitygen/windows) (Windows anyway) are stock Vanitygen 0.22 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804).  Might want to try figuring out what command line it uses, then feed that manually to vanitygen and try changing parameters around from there.

Is your hot HDM account already set up? In anther word, is the triangle completed? If your hot HDM account is already set up, the HDM server button should not respond to any taps. If not, please let us know. Thank you for your feedback.

What is 'Reset HDM Server Authentication' for?

The hot wallet needs to store an encrypted token authenticated via BitID by the cold to the HDM server to ask the server to cosign.

'Reset HDM Server Authentication' will ask cold wallet to authenticate a new token, and revoke the old one.

Usually you don't need to manually use this function. This is only useful when you try to use your hot wallet to send transactions if you has tried the recovery of your HDM account and yet you still have your original hot wallet in your hand. The recovery will revoke the token on the original hot wallet. Therefore the hot wallet needs a reset of the authentication.

Handy to know this then as going to start importing and eventually stop using core unless really needed to due to size and crashing and rebuilding is really annoying and no idea why keeps doing it caused my system to crash last night yet is installed on windows 8.1 clean install of os only seems to be doing on load up of wallet or downloading a lot of blocks on it to update. Maybe revert to core once it improves in proformanc eor not needing to build index over and over.

Where are the devs for this wallet. Seems active one min, next inactive or not around much.

Would like to put another idea forward for layout and improvement for usability.

Sorting feature for Addresses

This you can create folders and drop your addresses into each one to sort out for different types of nature. Each folder can create a name for it then add the address into it.
Gambling, Business use, Personal use, Donation and so on making own separate folders.

Just a small idea I know some would like and would like this sort of feature in it to sort all addresses into different categories, that way I know where stuff is and what is used for what :)

Eh, Bither is meant to be working right on Yosemite. We all use Yosemite in the team. How did you upgrade from Mavericks? Did you erase all your data? Bither's data is stored in this folder ~/Library/Application Support/Bither . You can go and check if your data is still there.

Sorry for reply later.

Clipboard is an public area for other app on your phone, so there is may be some bad app can stolen your private key when you copy it, so we think it is not safe enough.

Drop transaction is only remove the transaction on your phone, it can not stop other peer to broadcast this transaction. So it may receive again from other peer, but this time it will not re-broadcast again. We will think about record the transaction is dropped, so when you receive the transaction it will show a mark.

Dear crazyearner,

Thanks for asking, :)

About different coins, we are still considering on support more altcoins, maybe in the future.

About our Enterprise version, that is a special designed wallet system that companies can build their own secured bitcoin management system based on Bither wallet technology.

We will keep working on Bither wallet individual version and enterprise version, to help the bitcoin users and companies manage their bitcoins easier and safer.

Hoping that one day this gets its own section like other wallets have. Also any news on new windows version been updated no doubt that is last in the last as you got others updated and seems not much activity going on currently for the wallet.

Idea for improvement on next version. To have the ability to change what fee is allowed to be used to send coin. I see under options you already have default and low. Maybe a better option to have would be to put what ever fee you want to put using slider option min to max and a variable what you can set etc. As with default still takes a while an when am in a rush to send and confirm payment ill send double the default fee or a little more for it to be picked up quicker.

Hi,

Bither is saying; ''is being confirmed'' about my last transaction and dont let me spend it.

Transaction is here: https://blockchain.info/tx-index/AD3D862FF54C28E6DE034C23FED35CDFF358F26B9E44A0921903C3F0ED2E1F74 (https://blockchain.info/tx-index/AD3D862FF54C28E6DE034C23FED35CDFF358F26B9E44A0921903C3F0ED2E1F74)

How long do I have to wait?

Any way that I can remove ads? I love your bither for ios, but it has ads, it's just 2 secs but I hope there is a way to pay for no ads.

Also, is there a way I can have multiple inputs (more than 1 address) and outputs (more than 1 address)?

Yes, you can.

In your first device (that already has the wallet):
- Open your wallet -> Open the 3 dot menu at the top right -> HD Account Seed QR Code

Now go to your second device, install Bither and do the following:
- Settings -> Advanced Options -> Import Private Key -> From HD Account Seed QR Code -> Scan the QR Code from the first device.

Title: Bitcoin holder will get Bitcion Top for free after the hard fork occurs in 15th
Post by: mikeyang on December 20, 2017, 08:45:54 AM
Bitcoin holder will get Bitcion Top for free after the hard fork occurs in 15th Janurary 2018.
Bitcoin TOP (BTT) is a fork of Bitcoin that occurs at the predetermined height of block 503999 and therewith a new chain will be generated as the BTT, the fork will take effect in the middle of January, 2018. Bitcoin TOP miners will begin creating blocks with a new proof-of-work algorithm, and will consecutively develop and enhance the protection for account transfer and privacy based on original features of BTC. This will cause a bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain. The original Bitcoin blockchain will continue on unaltered, but a new branch of the blockchain will split off from the original chain. It shares the same transaction history with Bitcoin until it starts branching and coming into a unique block from which it diverges. As a result of this process, a new cryptocurrency was created which we call "Bitcoin TOP".
Once the bitcoin blockchain reaches a predetermined height of 503999 Bitcoin holders can get BTT as free. After that time, you need to acquire BTT at any exchanges like other cryptocurrency, mining it as Bitcoin, or trading your goods and services for benefits. If you have BTC in a paper wallet, hardware wallet, multi-signature address, or any other forms of secure private key storage, you will be able to claim your corresponding BTT at any time. BTT will be distributed when you move. You can search and find your BTT from your wallet.
please view BTT official website for more details:

No. The fork already happened.

What you can do is import your already existent address private-key into Bither, and from there, claim the SBTC. If you send from your old address to a new one from Bither, you will only send BTC and not SBTC.

Hey,
I'd like to be as careful as possible setting up a cold wallet. I've found your download on bither.net to grab the .apk.
I will install it on my offline device via usb cable.

First, I would like to verify the download but can't seem to find your file hashes posted for verification.

Please let me know how I can verify the download so I can be sure I'm installing the right one.

This is a copy of what I posted in a new thread, it was suggested that I try posting the problem here in hopes of some solutions, the post is as follows:

<quote>New to this community and have been scouring the search engine for hours trying to find a thread that may have the answer I need but nothing has come up yet, apologies if someone can refer me to an already existing thread that answers my question.

Started using Bither in late 2017 and didn't use my wallet for about a year until recently.  Stupidly, and without thinking ahead of time I used the same wallet address to complete a few transactions only to have nothing show in my wallet despite all addresses, confirmations, etc, being correct and accurate.  Find that I need to sync my wallet to catch up to the newest block chain.  Tried every speed and fee option to get the "reload transaction data" to work but all I get is a "network error" message every single time.  Figured that maybe my internet connection was too slow and am now at my relatives house using their very expensive high speed internet service and am getting the same message.

Question: Has anyone, perhaps one of the Bither developers, ran into this problem and found a solution?  Perhaps a patch or upgrade version I can then somehow get my original coin rerouted to in some way?  It isn't a massive loss but still would put me back a few hundred dollars worth of Bitcoin, which I actually need soon, if I cannot recover these transactions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has proven to be a very frustrating ordeal and has sent me travelling for improved internet connection speed to no avail.  Thank you and your time and energy are greatly appreciated.</quote>

Have you updated the wallet? The year 2017 version was too outdated and might be the cause of the network issue. Updating the wallet will not delete your data/wallet from it.
However, do not uninstall it unless you still got the Mnemonic seed that it told you to write at the wallet creation process.

Find that I need to sync my wallet to catch up to the newest block chain
This only applies to full nodes or some old wallets like Bitcoin Core and Armory.
Bither is a SPV wallet which relies on a third-party server (full node) as the "validator".

Thank you for the advice, I'll see if I can get the update up and functioning and will report back on whether or not that solves the problem.

Follow-up: after taking the advice and trying to update to the latest version of Bither for my windows desktop I cannot for the life of me find any links to any windows desktop downloads for the newest version.  Every download I find is I only for android devices.  Even the download from Bither.net isn't new enough to surpass the "network error" message when attempting to sync to the block chain.  Anyone that knows the location of the updated version I'm looking for it'd be great to hear from you.  Also, after reading through a number of reviews of Bither in general I've notice a trend of nearly 25% of users losing small to incredibly large amounts of Bitcoin with almost zero help from the developers and some users stating "the developers accused me of trying to scam them after losing 35,000k worth of BTC."  If I cannot find this update and sync the wallet than I'd also offer this up as a warning regarding the Bithher Wallet itself; 25% negative reviews with loses declared in nearly every review is nothing to ignore, also, I've yet to hear a single word back from Bither Support regarding this issue.  So, heads up.

It honestly doesn't look like they've updated the client since April 2018... (last github commit date)

I would suggest exporting your 12 word seed mnemonic from Bither and importing it into a more up to date client... To find your 12 word seed mnemonic you can do the following:

From within Bither, click the "Export" button:
https://i.imgur.com/Scp7LJ6.png

Select "HD Account Seed Phrase":
https://i.imgur.com/Wy3aH0c.png

Enter your password (if any) when prompted and your 12 words will be displayed:
https://i.imgur.com/VDEHdCl.png

I believe this is a BIP39 compatible wallet, so you should be able to import that seed mnemonic into any BIP39 compatible wallet.

Hi dear user,
First of all, you don't need to worry about asset security.  It's strongly suggested to use android version rather than desktop version, since the desktop version update is lagging behind the android verison.
The reason why you cannot see the balance is most likely because you did not sync the data. Please go to "Setting"-“Advance”-“Blocks” for synchronization. If the problem occurred  again, please try to change the network of your device to LTE/3G/4G or WiFi and repeat the operation.

Website is not dead, working fine for me, and code is Open Source so you can can check and verify it or ask someone else to do it.
I checked both android and ios versions and they are last updated on September and desktop version last update was on April.
I also know that they have shifted more to BitpieWallet and BitHD hardware wallet (Trezor code) and they are very active on social media and you can ask them anything you want.
