Is this Ian Miers' project or a coin hoping others will think it is? 2% premine is also unusually high for new coins.

Can you explain how it uses Ian Miers' zerocoin library. As far as I know he has moved on to zerocash. Also why have you named your coin after his project?

Initial price will be 0.001 BTC per ZERO

Are you for real?

Anyone investing at that price deserves a zero balance and all their btc lost.

2% premined, what about the rest unsold? Dump when it hits an exchange offcourse and walk away with even more btc.

Lets see who's dumb enough to buy into the IPO, they should be banned from this forum.

we extended our sources and added zerocoins functionality (to hide a transactions origin).
zerocash is basicaly based on libzerocoin but extended to hide also amounts and destination.
libzerocoin is the library which is used and adapted by us. we named this project zerocoin
because the idea came from the original zerocoin/zerocash developers.

I'd like to join the free "24h mining contracts",
but what's it?

AFAIK, zerocash has a major drawback that if someone has the the initial random parameter, he can fake total coin supply without be awaring by others.
Also, zerocash may also lead to data bloat because for every single transaction, it need more storage.

Another question, what's actually used in this coin, the 1st generation zerocoin or the 2nd generation zerocash?

This library does not implement the full Zerocoin protocol. In addition to the above cryptographic routines, a full Zerocoin implementation requires several specialized Zerocoin messages, double spending checks, and some additional coin redemption logic that must be supported by all clients in the network. libzerocoin does not provide routines to support these functions, although we do provide an overview on the Integrating with Bitcoin clients page.

You are not the first one to claim to have Zerocoin implemented in a coin.  You will not be the last.  Where is the proof that it works?

what's the way that you choose to generate parameter ?

the param-gen routine will use factors calculated from our generated prime numbers..
the lenght of used RSA modulus will be minimum 2048 bit.

so, how can I trust you that you don't keep p and q ?

Yeah, you want users to trust a random guy on the internet with a brand new Bitcointalk username.

Seem legit. LOL.

No trustless + IPO + premine = Huge potential scam.

You need to choose a new name for your coin, don't use the name of an established project.

I actually like the name but am aware it's not the original project.

Dev should listen to the people, this is who will ultimately decide your coins fate.

I'm with everyone that thinks the IPO price of .001 is a joke. That ship sailed long ago. Successful IPO's are now in the 1-10sat range. Early investors want a guarantee that their IPO price will be the floor and .001 screams "you will never see your BTC again". Increase your IPO share of coins and drop to 10 sats then lets talk about me sending you some BTC.

The last IPO i bought into was Plankton, FOOD. 1 sat was the IPO so it was a no brainer

I was one of the first talking about TOR being a complete ripoff of the naval labs paper. I actually bought a bunch thinking it was the real thing then discovered it was scam. Held for 24hrs and dumped making 200%. Is TOR even still traded? IDK

Dev, review TOR complete failure and revisit your project.

Dev, those of us who have been in crypto for a while trust no one especially a random person on the web so "you will just have to trust us" is a death sentence. A good start would be a bio (twitter / facebook link with photos & history).
You get one shot to grab our attention, make the most of it.

I would like the free 24hrs of mining though, fingers crossed x

Initial price will be 0.001 BTC per ZERO

Are you for real?

Anyone investing at that price deserves a zero balance and all their btc lost.

2% premined, what about the rest unsold? Dump when it hits an exchange offcourse and walk away with even more btc.

Lets see who's dumb enough to buy into the IPO, they should be banned from this forum.

SCAM
this is the the real zerocoin zerocash project  will be released later this year

http://zerocoin.org/ (http://zerocoin.org/)
maybe a scam, maybe just a copy from the good idea.
we will see.

no it s no scam. anyway, we are focusing more on finalising stuff for the launch
and not commenting FUD and troll/spam posts in this thread.

btw - we already posted that this is a NEW project (multialgo, tor/i2p native integrated, etc.) and
only implementing the 1st generation libzerocoin headers/sources in the codebase to provide
zerocoin-support
.

P.S.
first winner of 24h mining contract is: CryptoJohn
(you ll get 24h free mining for the ZERO-launch.
i will send you a PM 48h before launch.)

What do you mean ? You mean you just include the library and do nothing ? if so, please don't use the name "Zerocoin".

Hey dev(s),

why not switch the X11 slot for the FRESH algorithm?

Doesn't the only coin, Freshcoin, that uses that algorithm take up an ass-load of RAM just to run the wallet? I haven't messed with it personally, but this is what I've heard from others who have. X11 is fine with me.

Any coin that has CPU or RAM, or Disk Space intensive requirements can use a cloud blockchain service such as blockcypher. Instead of the blockchain being stored on the user's device it is hosted on a cloud network which stores/processes the blockhain allowing frontend apps to use a simple API to access wallet features while remaining secure.  URO is the first  altcoin to officially be using it; it just takes some investing (private individual and/or community) to get a coin to circumvent mine farming while keeping a lightweight frontend wallet that performs with speed on mobile devices.

Anoncoin - https://anoncoin.net - has been working on a zerocoin protocol implementation for some time now.  They already have I2p network support and are officially working with the I2p project on a C++ router implementation along with the Monero team - http://monero.cc -  While both those coins had 0% pre-mine.  There is already this project - http://zerocoin.org who have also as well as Anoncoin been working some time on a Zero Knowledge Proof protocol for some time.  I agree this project does look very dubious.

As someone who has been closely following the anoncoin implementation of Zerocoin (see https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Anoncoin_Wiki), it appears that this project is not legit.

1. The developers here do not seem to understand the difference between Zerocash and Zerocoin.
2. The developers have not described if their implementation will depend on trusted third parties or not.
3. If the implementation is trustless, how did they generate the RSA UFO? What is the bit length? Did they attempt to factor it?
4. What exactly is the proof-of-work algorithm?
5. If you are using proof of work, then why do you also say that you are using proof of stake?

There are so many questions, and no answers.

Beware

SCAM.

Avoid this premined coin! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=700558.0 … from a newbie account not affiliated with @ZerocoinProject or @AnoncoinProject.

the .001btc/zero price (presale price for half of the premined coins) implies a valuation of 3,000 btc (3 million total coins * .001btc) which is ridiculous for a newbie account and no other information.

The valuation of Anoncoin is much less than this and has top notch developers who have already introduced many innovative features and have been working on Zerocoin implementation for many months

GJ Guys! Another scamcoin busted.

It's sad how easy it is to fool people in cryptocurrency trading. I bet some gullible idiots will actually buy into the IPO

correct decision. sad that you dont understand it earlier.

call your next coin feathercoin2, quakiquaki or simple scam-coin or something like that. and change your username.

dont use: Zero, Zerocoin, Zerocash for your next "project" (scam) because its not your idea and has nothing to do with it!
