Worth Investing ?

Storj is a decentralized cloud storage platform that utilizes Bitcoin's blockchain technology and peer-to-peer protocols.

Storj is open-source while also being safer, cheaper, more private and secure compared to traditional cloud storage providers.

Storjcoin X (SJCX) is a cryptocurrency that runs on the Counterparty protocol and is intended to be transacted on top of the Storj platform within Storj's applications.

Earn it by selling your excess hard drive space with DriveMiner, or use it to purchase space on the Storj network with Metadisk.

With in 4 days of launch they have already collected 510 BTC - https://blockchain.info/address/132aBrspLgL54cm9eQfGNFLGqXwBRQrugc

Their dev names are listed publicly, so it may not end up in scam :) Worth investing few satoshis here.

Here is the detailed analysis of the value of Storj coin by a guy named 'Lemmy'
---

This analysis makes a couple of assumptions in different portions
1.) That the current price of storj is based off 38500SJCX/BTC
2.) Bitcoin is Priced at today's market rate of $619.46 when I began the spreadsheet
3.) Our target competitor is DropBox Pro pricing.  I did not factor in the added cost of unlimited versions and unlimited retrievals
4.) When calculating the total Network storage at our current price I did it assuming that every single storjcoin would be spent at once at todays prices
5.) Coins issued are based on the Pre-crowdsale wallet and the Crowdsale wallet balances as of the creation of the spreadsheet...They can be updated easily anytime

Here is a link to the Excel Spreadsheet for anyone to look at and critique
http://node1.storj.io/api/download/1a0628fa5c4025260b6f124c48285e58453752dc51cc14caaf033693f6a3b83f?key=9f4b9979ae2dcfe3054473faf359172b5902519ed463a95d807e8c5b283b0d42&token=3EegrAe1gFkJO3OZ

Here is a summary of results
Actual Coins issued 171,016,810.6
Potential Coins issued 500,000,000

Current Bid price of SJCX $0.01608987
Based on Phase 1 pricing and current $/btc

Current Market cap Based on coins issued and todays prices
$2,751,638.27
Potential Market Cap if all coins are issued
$8,044,935.06

Ok for potential earnings. If you want the math look at the spreadsheet

Compared to Drop Box Pro at a 10X discount
1 TB/month = 620.89 SJCX = $9.99

1 TB/year = 6152.94 SJCX = $99.00

1 PB/ month = 620,887.55 SJCX = $9,990
1 PB/ year = 6,152,939.66 SJCX = $99,000

Compared to Drop box pro at 100x discount

1 TB/month = 620.89 SJCX = $9.99

1 TB/year = 6152.94 SJCX = $99.00

1 PB/ month = 62,088.75 SJCX = $999
1 PB/ year = 615,293.97 SJCX = $9,900

Based on current prices and these numbers with all the coins being used to purchase space all at the exact same time using every coin the network could have:

at 10x
Actual coins issued 27.79 PB
Potential coins issued 81.26 PB

at 100x
Actual 277.94 PB
Potential 812.62 PB

If you see an error in my calculations let me know feel free to edit the excel file and upload a new one with new numbers...or update the numbers as the crowdsale progresses...price goes up each phase.

Also note that Ethereum sale is also started just now (already sold out 1900 BTC worth Ether), so you may see some downfall in storjcoin crowdsale.

Not really, two different platforms.

Once Ethereum launches, Decentralized dropbox is an app on it. Isn't it ?

No. While technically possible it would cost you thousands of dollars to store a video file on the Ethereum chain. It does have some use cases in application, but Ethereum can't be used directly.

Hi i wrote this and tere is a small error in this analysis the 100x cheaper price at 1 TB were off by 1 decimal point when i typed the summary should read
1 TB/month = 620.89 SJCX = $0.99

1 TB/year = 6152.94 SJCX = $9.99

This can be seen correctly in the spreadsheet that is listed in this post
